Kota led him to the den. Since Cecil’s arrival, everyone hung over here. They stopped calling the place their Alpha’s house and renamed it “The Den” for the room that saw the most action.

There was a huge flat panel television hanging on the wall to the left with two brown suede sofas that sat in an L formation with a poker table situated behind them, and a state of the art stereo system and surround sound sitting on a glass stand under the television. Cecil had added his touch with an Xbox 360 with all the accessories and games imaginable. There was a pool table and a bar set up to the right of the room with a dart board on the farthest wall. It felt just like being in a tavern, only more comfortable.

“Well, look what the cat dragged in. A dog.” Great. Just who Kota needed to see right about now, loudmouthed Remi. The guy had a comment about everything. He was definitely outspoken, which was something Kota didn’t want his mate to deal with right now.

“Hey to you, too, Remington.” Kota inclined his head. “This is my mate, Blair.” Kota reached behind him and placed his hand on the small of his mate’s back, bringing him forward.

“Hey, Blair, I’m
Remi.
Nice to meet you.”

Blair waved. “Hi.” He tucked his hair behind his ear, staring at the floor. Kota whispered in his ear, “Remember what we talked about, sunshine?” Blair nodded and raised his head, staring everyone in the eye.

“Hey, handsome. I’m Jasper.”

Blair took a step back, giving Kota a nervous glance.

“He’s the queen around here. He means nothing by it, love.”

Dakota softly spoke to him.

Blair nodded and looked over at Jasper. “Hi, Jasper.”

“I’ll give you queen. Bite me, Kota.” Jasper stuck his tongue out.

Kota laughed. He knew wolves had exceptional hearing. He didn’t care, as long as his mate was comfortable. Everyone else introduced themselves. Blair took an instant liking to Cecil and Johnny. Kota had to actually be introduced to Johnny. He had been gone while Hawk

played patty-cake. “Where is that big brute anyway?”

“Right here, old friend.” Hawk slapped his back as he shook his hand.

“Congrats on your mate.”

“Same to you it seems. Hi. I’m Hawk.” Hawk extended his hand to Blair, who hesitantly took it.

Hawk was an intimidating man. Blair thought Kota was, but Hawk took the cake hands down. He tucked his hair behind his ear and lowered his eyes. He felt Kota tap the small of his back, he raised his head again.

“Cecil, Johnny, can you show Blair around? I need to talk to Maverick.” Kota kissed his mate, running his finger along his jaw.

“Sure,
Dakota
. No prob.” Cecil was conspiring with Remi.

“Little shit.” Kota kissed Blair again then walked to Maverick’s office.

He stretched out in the leather chair in front of the mahogany desk, finally taking a deep breath. Part of his mind was worrying about his mate. Was he doing okay? Was he scared? He knew he was in good hands with the two pint-size mates, but he still worried though. Kota was missing him already.

“So, you wanna tell me about this wild goose chase you sent me on?”

Maverick chuckled.

So the bastard did send him on one. Why? Kota sat forward, pissed.

“Figured me out, huh?” Maverick sat back, pulling on his soul patch, watching Kota.

“Might I ask why I was sent on a dummy mission?”

“Still trying to figure it out myself. All I know is I had a dream that you needed to go there. And before you ask, I started having them

after I mated Cecil, and I don’t have a clue why.” Maverick stood and walked over to the window, clasping his hands behind his back as he stared out into the back garden.

“I had a dream that showed me you searching for someone. I saw your mate, although I didn’t know who he was at the time. I knew the dream was real just now when I met Blair. It was the strangest thing, Kota. I saw exit signs telling me the city you were in, the hotel where you stayed, and even the places you were searching. Somehow the dream conveyed to me to not tell you and find a way to get you there.

I’m sorry, old friend. I never meant to deceive you.” Maverick was still staring out of the window, as if the answer lay outside. He had a faraway look.

How could Kota be mad? He had found his mate on this ghost mission. He only wished Maverick had told him about the dream.

Searching all those dives had frustrated the shit out of him. Made him think he was losing his touch. A thought occurred to him. He didn’t know if he wanted to know the answer though.

“What else did this
dream
show you?” Did it show him how Blair made a living? He wasn’t ashamed of his mate, but he didn’t want his mate to become self-conscious that others knew. The guy already had a rough road ahead of him with his self-esteem issues at the top of his list.

“Anything else I was shown is no one else’s business but yours and your mate’s.”

Well, hell. That answered his question now, didn’t it? He wanted to ask Maverick another reason he had sought him out on his arrival home. “He has a brother. I feel it best to bring him here…where it’s safer for him. I can’t tell you why without breaking Blair’s confidence, which I’m not willing to do. Will you help?”

Maverick turned from the window, a smile quirked his lip.

“About that—”

“Let me guess. You had a dream?”

Maverick gave him a full smile this time. Smug bastard.

“Do what you have to. Take two Sentries with you. You’ll need them. Micah and Storm to be exact.” Kota gave Maverick a nod as a knock sounded on the door.

“I swear I’m going to install a revolving door.” Maverick

mumbled then bellowed, “Come in.”

Hawk came in and sat on the leather sofa. “Glad to see you found your mate, Kota. Maverick here tells me he dreamt it.”

Kota raised a brow at Maverick, pissed that he had lied to him about confidentiality.

Maverick held up a hand, “Before you get all bent out of shape, Kota, I only told him about the dreams, not the contents of it. It’s nobody’s business why I sent you. Just like it’s nobody’s business about your mission ahead of you and what that boy’s future is. Not even yours. Just get him here.”

A knock sounded, and Maverick rolled his eyes. Before he could yell for them to come in, Cecil opened the door and led Johnny over to Hawk.

“Hawk, you need to calm Johnny down. Kota, go get your mate from the kitchen. He needs you.”

Chapter Six

Kota shot out of Maverick’s office and down the hall to the kitchen. Blair was sitting at the table with his hands balled into fists, tears running down his face. Kota grabbed him from the chair and pulled him in his arms.

“What’s wrong, sunshine? What happened?”

“If I ask you something, will you tell me the truth?” Blair wiped at the tears in his eyes.

“Always. I will never lie to you. Now tell me what’s wrong?”

Kota had left his mate with Cecil and Johnny. Two harmless humans.

What could possibly have happened in a half hour while he was with Maverick?

“Are those two little boys being forced to stay here? Is someone hurting them?” Blair looked on the verge of crying again. What had given his mate that idea? He knew for a fact that Maverick adored Cecil and Cecil adored Maverick. He didn’t know anything about Hawk and Johnny, but he was sure the same applied to them as well.

He sat down, pulling Blair onto his lap. “They aren’t little boys.

They’re grown men, sunshine, and I can tell you right now that those two
men
and you are the safest people in this house. These wolves, every last one of them, would not tolerate anyone of you three being hurt, even by their own mate. They’re happy, baby. I promise.” Kota kissed Blair while running his fingers through his silken hair.

“I just can’t imagine those two being with such powerful men.

They’re so little. Johnny seems so…innocent. Please tell me they’re okay.” Blair cuddled into Kota’s lap, picking lint off of his shirt that wasn’t there.

“I promise, sunshine. They’re okay.”

Dakota took Blair to their bedroom. As promised, his things were sitting inside the door. He took a look around his new bedroom. It was
huge
, unlike the closet he had lived in. The bed was centered in the middle of the room, and sat high off the floor. A beautiful, thick black and burgundy duvet spanned across the top with what looked to be a thousand pillows. The guy liked his comfort.

Two large floor-to-ceiling windows adorned either side of the bed, their thick drapery pulled to one side. There was a door to the left.

Must be the bathroom. Thick, plush carpeting lay under his feet. He wanted to take his shoes off and squish his toes in it. Dakota took his bag and set it on one of two dressers, opening a large hutch for his clothes.

“I can get that.” Blair pulled his clothes out that Dakota had bought him and hung them in the oak cabinet. This room was truly beautiful, majestic. Blair noticed two overstuffed chairs sitting to the right, inviting him to kick his feet up and snuggle down in its welcoming comfort. He walked over and sank back. It was heaven.

Dakota chuckled. “Comfy?” He knelt at Blair’s feet, pulling his legs up one at a time and removing his sneakers. His feet began to tickle as his mate massaged them, stripping the socks off in the process. Blair sat in awe of the apocalyptic warrior kneeling at his feet. How had he gotten so lucky in his unlucky life? He was afraid to go to sleep. Closing his eyes may end this hallucination, and Blair wasn’t ready to give it up. Ever.

“Come try the bed. It’s quite comfy as well.”

Blair blushed, knowing full well Dakota had more in mind than bouncing on the mattress. Well, that could be part of it. Blair giggled to himself. He had to lift his leg high to even get into the damn thing.

Maybe he could get a step stool to tuck under the bed. It was a

thought.

“No, sunshine, you have to try it naked. Trust me. The experience is well worth it.” His mate had a devilish gleam in his eye. Right.

With his clothes neatly folded on the dresser, he climbed back into Dakota’s bed. It was comfortable as hell. “Oh, man. I don’t think I’ve ever felt anything so awesome.” Blair rolled around the bed, enjoying the way the mattress conformed to his body.

“Dakota, can you like, shape-shift or anything?” Blair sat on his knees, excitement radiating through him.

“Yes. I become my Timber wolf form.”

“Can I see?”

Dakota stepped back, disrobing before swiftly changing into a wolf.

“Holy shit!” Blair scrambled back. He hadn’t been prepared for a creature the size of a fucking pony. He thought he would resemble a grey wolf, like he had seen at the zoo. This…were-creature, was incredible.

He watched the wolf pad away from the bed, sitting on his

haunches by the door.

Blair crawled back to the foot of the bed, scared as hell. “Is that really you, Dakota?” The wolf nodded its massive head. “I─I’m scared, but I want to touch you.”

The wolf slowly rose, walking carefully back to him, his head lowering. Blair reached a shaky hand out, running his fingertips across soft fur. “Wow, your fur feels like a mink coat.” He hesitantly slid from the bed, kneeling on the floor. The wolf lay at his feet, sniffing his balls. “Hey, cut that out. I may like painful and weird sex, but animals aren’t on my list of things to try.” The wolf licked them then laid his head down on his paws. “Kinky bastard.”

He ran his hands down the spine and over the long tail, the wolf lying still and allowing him to explore. Blair rubbed his belly, feeling that the pelt was softest in that area. He picked one of the large paws up, weighing it in his palm. “I’d hate to get swiped at by one of

these.” He stood as he laid the paw down. “Thank you, Dakota, for sharing that with me.”

His mate reappeared before his eyes. He didn’t think he would ever get used to that. One minute he was lying on the carpet as a huge wolf. The next he was just standing there naked. How’d he do it?

Who cares? Look at that drool-worthy body.
Yum.

Blair dropped to his knees, taking the head directly into his mouth.

He had been dying to taste Dakota. The salty tang splashed on his tongue, drawing a moan from Blair. There was nothing better than the taste of man. The musky scent, strong firm body, and commanding tone of his mate drove him to take him deeper. Blair swirled his tongue around the head, dipping the tip into the slit and pulling the honey out.

His free hand cupped Dakota’s balls, feeling the weight and rolling them around like Chinese stress balls.

“Later.” Dakota pulled Blair up and tossed him onto the bed.

Dakota cupped his cheek and kissed him. “On your knees, pup.”

Blair complied, scooting back toward the edge.

Blair moaned as Dakota spread his ass cheeks, licking one long line from balls to puckered hole. Blair whimpered when Dakota nipped each butt cheek.

“Oh, fuck.” Blair tilted his other ass cheek to Dakota to be bitten as well. When Dakota obliged, Blair lowered his head to the blanket and rocked forward and back. The sensations running through him were like an out of control fire, racing and licking at his nerve endings, engulfing him in the inferno.

His cock was throbbing as the blood raced to fill it. It was engorged and heavy. Dakota sealed the wounds, opening others as he marked his back and ass. He dipped between Blair’s thighs and punctured the flesh on both sides, lapping at his balls.

“Turn over, lie on your back and spread your legs.”

Blair scrambled to comply. He felt bad they were turning the pretty duvet crimson but not bad enough to stop.
