“If you say so.” Kota couldn’t hold it in, a laugh bubbled up. His mate shot him a glare. “Sorry.”
“I just bet you are.”
Kota led Blair to the den. Why his sore-bottomed mate wanted to come down here was beyond him. Blair had whined the whole time he soaked in the tub. Kota wouldn’t tell him, but he felt proud. A man always did. When your mate limped afterward, then you did it right.
That was his story, and he was sticking to it.
“Are you okay, Blair?” Johnny ran up to them, giving Kota the evil eye.
“Don’t look at me. Blair threw a hip out playing leapfrog.”

Johnny crossed his arms over his small chest, his look telling Kota he didn’t believe him for one second.
“I’m fine.” Blair waved Kota off, taking a seat on the couch.
“I guess you don’t wanna play the Xbox.” Cecil laughed and winked at Blair. “Maverick has had me limping before.”
Blair smacked Kota’s hand away when he tried to fluff the small accent pillow behind him. Kota was really trying his best not to all-out laugh. Little chuckles kept escaping though.
“Tank and Cody are back. No luck tracking the elusive and
psychotic Jackson down.” Hawk informed Kota.
“He’ll slip up. We’ll get him.” Kota wasn’t sure if he was reassuring his Commander or himself. All he knew was that no one was getting near his mate again. It had scared a hundred years off of him.
“Playing that homo crap, I see.”
Kota’s head snapped around to see Oliver standing in the
doorway.
“Watch your tongue, young man. That’s your own brother you’re speaking to.” Kota growled at the pup, taking a step toward the young man. Maybe he could lightly throttle him.
Oliver flipped him off.
Micah grabbed Oliver out of the way as Kota lunged for him. Kid or not, Kota was going to teach the brat some manners.
The warrior Micah hauled Oliver from his feet, carrying him up the stairs.
“Are you okay, sunshine?”
His mate sighed. “Yeah, seems some things you can’t run far enough from.” Blair shook his head. “I know what I did was out of survival. I have to live with that. What worries me is my brother.
Whatever demons are chasing him, he won’t be able to run far enough either. He’ll face them. I have faith in him.

Micah yanked Oliver’s arm as he pulled him into his bedroom.
The boy had struggled the whole way up the stairs, his defiance unbelievable. This young man was fighting the very people trying to help him. Micah tried his best to understand what Oliver was going through and give him some leeway, but to be so blatantly cruel was wrong.
“This is where you will be sleeping.” He pointed to the adjoining bedroom. “I suggest you watch your tongue around here.”
“Screw you. You aren’t my father.” Oliver snatched his arm from Micah’s grasp.
“You’re in a house full of men who won’t tolerate your attitude and behavior, so until you can adopt a decent manner, you are to stay in our room.” Micah growled at him.
He couldn’t believe his mate had attacked his brother like that.
Micah heaved a heavy sigh, thinking of the long road his mate and he had ahead of them in battling Oliver’s demons.
