Nathaniel tilted
his head a little to the side and looked at her. He had honestly
expected her to come along with him meekly. He had imagined that she
would hang her head and even nod, but her head was held high and she
had fire in her eyes.

“This is going
to happen now. We can discuss it shortly in our bedroom. Either you
come with me, or I will pick you up and carry you upstairs.” His
tone told her that he wasn't kidding.

The only problem
was that, she didn't feel she deserved to be hit. She was trying so
hard to fit in and he wanted to hit her for some unknown reason, when
she offered to change whatever had bothered him.

She pretended to
step forward.

Nathaniel let go
of her arms and she darted around the table away from him. He looked
surprised as she positioned herself across from him. He went to go
get her again.

She moved
accordingly.

“Emily, I won't
play games with you!” He tried to grab her but she was always gone
before he reached her.

They were running
in circles around the table. He was getting more and more mad, as he
chased her. “Emily, you agreed to obey me. Come here, now!” He
stood by the staircase side of the table and waited.

Emily let her
eyes dart to the door. She wanted him to think that she was going to
go for it but she wasn't about to give up her safe place across the
table from him.

He looked like he
had figured out how to get her.

Fool, she
thought. She faked running in that direction. He practically threw
himself at the door. She went and stood by the stove. She smiled at
herself until he turned back to her.

“Emily, you are
going to pay for that.” He stepped back towards the table. He
looked ready to choke her.

She positioned
herself to see which way she should run.

He was very mad
now, but so was she. She had extra married him so she wouldn't get
hurt and now he wanted to beat on her, too, and for no reason. If she
had done something very wrong, then maybe she could understand his
way of thinking, but this was just unjust.

He was feeling
livid. She had even purposely made him look like a fool. In the end
he would win and then she would learn not to play games with him
anymore.

Nathaniel was
sure his sister-in-laws could hear them. Her behavior was
embarrassing him. He had even pointed out that she was breaking a
rule. “Wait until I get my hands on you.”

“I'm not
planning on letting you.” She didn't take her eyes off his muscles.
She watched them to tell her in which direction he would be coming at
her.

He charged at her
one more time. This time he knocked a chair down and kept coming. He
would have her now, he thought. Teach her to never pull anything like
this again, he grinned at his own thoughts.

She jumped over
the chair and kept safely on the other side of the table. He stopped
and so did she. She even grinned at him. Her whole face said, huh.

This had to stop.
He couldn't let her get away with something like that.

Nathaniel jumped
up on the table and watched her face pale. He was the one grinning
now, as she really did run for the door.

He had his arms
around her as she kicked at him and demanded he let her go. He
carried his fighting little bundle up the stairs and into their room.

Nathaniel let go
of her and she ran to the wash basin.

He locked the
door before he turned back to her. She was still as far away from him
as she could get. He straightened out his clothes before he stepped
towards her.

“Emily, I never
want to see that behavior repeated. Do you understand?” He sounded
strict and fatherly.

She wasn't about
to give up. She would fight this point. He had her so mad at the
moment that she almost felt sorry for him even.

He crossed a
line, that she had drawn in her head, moving too close to her. She
picked up the water pitcher and let the water fly at him. Hopefully
that would cool him off.

Bessie was
sneaking out of her bed and into her sister's, like she did every
week after their spanking. She heard the water land and guessed what
had happened. She covered her mouth as she continued down the hall.

Bessie liked
Emily so much already, but she was gaining even more points for
herself now. She could be feisty. Bessie liked that. Katie was
sitting up and also listening to their struggles. She was laughing
too. They could both hear Nathaniel yell that she should come down
from the bed.

He wiped the
water out of his eyes and looked at her. She had jumped on the bed
and stayed as far away from him as she could.

“Get down from
that bed, right now!” He yelled at her.

“No,” she
whispered it but her face told him that she was determined.

“Emily, I will
just jump up after you. I already proved I would.” He whispered
back. The thought of his sister-in-laws could hearing all this, was
terribly embarrassing for him. He would show them that he had his
little wife under control.

She held up her
hands in front of her to stop him. “Whatever I did that displeased
you, I am sorry for, and I won't do it again. You only have to tell
me. There is no reason for you to hit me.”

He was shocked
that she didn't think that she deserved a good licking in the
meantime. “After everything you just pulled, you don't think I have
reason to hit you?”

He said that
louder than he had wanted. They sure were giving a good show to
anyone listening, he thought.

“That was self
defense!” She put her hands on her hips and stared him down.

He smiled at her.
“I am really going to enjoy this.” He jumped up on the bed and
she jumped down.

Being the one
chased was no fun. He always got to determine when they would move
around again. He stayed on the bed and turned to look where she was
now. She had pulled the chair out and was hiding behind it. Only she
was in the middle of the room with it.

He sure did look
foolish standing on the bed like that with his dusty work boots on.
She sighed and tried to reason with him one last time. “You don't
have to hit me just because your brothers hit their wives. I'll be
good without that. I promise. I won't cause you any more problems you
just have to promise not to hit me, and mean it, and this will all be
over with.”

He jumped down
and slowly went to her. He was weary of what her next trick might be.
“This was just for you, so you wouldn't do anything in the first
place. A spanking to let you know that I was watching you. I believe
that it is my responsibility to watch out for your soul and ensure
that you obey me. This is my duty and I will go through with it even
if it takes all day, and night.”

“Says who?”

She still had
fire in her eyes. He was looking forward to putting that fire out.
“Says me.”

She cast her eyes
down for a moment and then looked back at him. “No, thank you.”

He was surprised
at how demure she sounded. “I insist, and you showed me today that
you do need it.”

“But it will
make me hate you,” she tried to reason with him.

“It will make
you respect me.”

“No, it won't.
You don't understand. Hitting someone because you can, doesn't make
them respect you. It breeds hate. I realize that you are bigger than
me, and stronger, too, but that would be abusing the trust I put in
you to take care of me and protect me.” Tears fell from her eyes as
she spoke.

He didn't feel as
mad anymore. He wanted to get this over with. “Emily, I won't
punish you for all the things that you did this afternoon, if you
come to me now.” He held out his hand to her again.

“You want me to
hate you?” she asked confused but she had explained it so well, she
thought.

“Of course not.
I want you to know that you can depend on me in every way. I will
protect you from everything and in this case even from yourself.”
He tried to reach for her, but as he stepped forward she pushed the
chair at him. She was clever, he had to admit that.

Nathaniel tried
to go around the chair, but she was always faster than him. He
grabbed the chair and ripped it away from her. He pushed it behind
himself and turned it around, while she tried to open the locked
door.

Nathaniel sat
down on the chair and took a deep breath. He reached out and grabbed
her over his lap.

She kicked and
hit at him. He pinned one arm in between them and the other he held
tightly behind her back. She drove her fingernails into his skin. He
held her hand so she couldn't anymore. Her legs were still kicking
but she wasn't hurting him with them.

Nathaniel took
another deep breath. He couldn't believe all the time it took to get
this far. He hoped that it would never be this difficult again.
Hopefully she had learned that it was futile to fight him.

“Every
Wednesday, all the women in this house get spanked. We do it to
remind them of their place and to help them.”

“Help them?”
She fussed on his lap trying to get away from him.

“Yes, to help
them,” he sassed back at her. “At first my brothers only did it
as a punishment, but then after a bit the same problems returned.
Katie and Bessie would argue with each other and bicker. They would
start out doing little things that bothered everyone until it
escalated. After their punishments they were the sweetest girls
again, but it was a constant circle.

“This is how my
brothers solved that problem. Now they are nothing but a pleasure to
be around all the time. If they break one of the rules they still get
punished and much more severely than the light Wednesday spankings.
This will work for you too. You are supposed to hate it so much that
you always behave yourself.” That said he pulled her dress up and
laid it over her back.

She started in
kicking again. He opened the drawstring on her knickers. She went
perfectly still. He was really going to hit her, But she hadn't done
anything. He bared her bottom and she could feel the cool air from
the room pressing on her backside.

“No, please no.
Don't, please, don't.” She tried to look back at him but she
couldn't, because he held her head down low.

He stared at her
bottom. It was so cute and nicely rounded. It was a little bigger
than he had thought it would be. The white creamy cheeks were a
little fleshy. She must have sat a lot in her old life. A bit of fat
had settled there, proving that she had had an easy life before she
came here. She had probably sat around all day sewing and the such.
Did she decide to marry him as an adventure?

Well, this was
her new life. She would have to adjust to things here.

Nathaniel felt a
stirring in him as he looked at her bottom. He was letting his mind
drift. Nathaniel brought his attention back to here and now. He
thought about the game she played downstairs, running around the
table. He started smacking her bottom as he remembered how she had
smiled when tricked into running to the door.

The first spank
had knocked the air out of her. Tears were dripping from her eyes and
onto the floor. She wouldn't give him the satisfaction of hearing her
cry out, but her body had a mind of its own and it was tensing and
jumping around, trying to avoid his hand. She couldn't take much more
of this.

Then he thought
about her jumping over the chair and once again grinning at him. Then
he thought about the water she threw at him and he spanked her even
harder.

Her bottom was
already red, but he was using it as a target now. He hoped his
sister-in-laws could hear the thrashing that she was getting. He was
the one making a fool out of her now.

Nathaniel would
have to change his clothes before he went out to his brothers again.
They would notice and ask. He didn't need them poking fun at him, but
he would have to take it because of her. He spanked even harder as he
thought about that. His sister-in-laws would probably tell their
husbands everything that they had heard today. He would look like a
laughingstock.

Emily was
twisting and trying to turn away from him. He pushed her back down
even further. Her bottom came up as he did that. He decided to smack
a little lower then. That got a reaction out of her right away. Her
legs started in kicking again.

His brothers had
told him to continue until there was no more fight in her, but he had
already spanked her so long. He was a little unsure.

Then it happened.
All at once she was laying limp over his knees. She hadn't made a
sound, other then several gasps.

He gave her a few
more swats and then turned her to him.

Her face looked
terrible, streaked with tears and all red. It broke his heart to see
her this way. Everything had been forgotten as he pulled her close to
him, and embraced her. He kissed her head, telling her how much he
loved her.

She sobbed on his
chest with her hands covering her face. He had broken her will. He
wanted to do this to her every week. She sobbed as quietly as she
could. He carried her to the bed and pulled back the covers before he
laid her down in bed. Gently he removed her shoes.

She still refused
to look at him. She had her hands folded together and her head buried
in her wrists.

He took off his
boots and then his wet clothes. He cuddled up close to her in bed and
pet her hair. “You took it very bravely. Next week let's forget the
games and just get it over with?” He hoped she would agree, or nod,
or something.

Nathaniel was
really worried that she did hate him. He didn't want that, he just
wanted to be happy with her.

She didn't answer
him. He had gotten what he wanted anyway. It didn't make sense for
her to try to fight him, but she wasn't in the mood to guess what her
temperament would be next week.
