behind. “Let’s sit for a bit and talk some business, okay?”

Miami, Florida

Sam had never been afraid of flying. Unlike Mac, he didn’t

have a problem with being trapped in a metal cage at over 30,000

feet above the ground. In his opinion, it was kind of nice to be

able to put his headphones on and disconnect from the world

while he listened to some good tunes for a few hours.

But today he was so anxious it could’ve very well been his first

time on a plane.

Take off made him break out in a sweat and he started feeling

queasy the moment they passed New Jersey. By the time they

flew over the Carolinas he’d almost lost his breakfast at least ten

different times. Turbulence, of course, had nothing to do with it.

The plane had now initiated its descent into sunny Miami,

and he was so nervous he was seriously contemplating jumping

out the window and swimming his way back to New York. And

he was uncomfortable as hell, what with the lovely lady next to

him resting her full head of white curls on his shoulder while she

slept, and his long legs all cramped up, even though he was on

Seat 11B. Aisle for more leg room, thank you very much.

Damn airlines and their false advertisement.

Careful not to bother the lady even though they’d be landing

in less than twenty minutes, he got out of his seat and headed to

the lavatory to wash and freshen up. He wanted to be ready for

Mac.

Once he’d returned, he reached under his seat and grabbed

the backpack containing his laptop, camera, chargers, and a folder

with all the information he might need. He took out the papers

with the reservations and reviewed them one more time, making

sure he hadn’t forgotten anything.

There was one reservation he had to confirm by phone the

next day, as the restaurant was very popular and he didn’t want

to risk losing their table. Not after he’d taken the time to read a

hundred reviews online and was convinced Mac would love it.

And it was important he did because, after some serious

consideration and in direct violation with perhaps his most

important rule, Sam was taking the Texan out on a proper date.

The lovely lady must have felt they were descending because

after flashing Sam a rather flirtatious smile for a senior citizen,

she went back to her own seat and pulled a mirror out of her

purse. She was adorable, and he couldn’t help smiling back at her.

There was a light in her eyes that spoke of years fully and happily

lived, and it made Sam yearn for what he didn’t have.

That kind of joy was what he’d wanted for himself. Instead,

he’d royally screwed things up with his ex-wife and spent the past

ten years staying emotionally distant from mostly everybody, not

allowing himself a moment of true happiness.

But maybe Logan was right when he said Sam really didn’t

have control over that. Why else would he be getting glimpses of

contentment and bliss just from talking to Mac?

He wasn’t going to pretend he didn’t like the guy. He couldn’t

deny that he was crazy in lust with him or that he’d come to

appreciate their talks, the video chats, and those smiles. That for

the first time since his divorce he hadn’t been able to stay away

from someone, male or female.

He was also honest about his position in life. For starters, he

couldn’t be with someone that lived so far away. He was jealous

and possessive and territorial and he’d need his man to be there

with him every day. But more importantly, he still didn’t want to

be responsible for someone else’s happiness or be emotionally

attached to them.

He couldn’t be attached to Mac, and he couldn’t be the prick

the guy had wasted a few months with either.

Soon enough the kitten was going to get tired of his rules and

six DegRees of Lust

put an end to their agreement, and that was fine. But before that

happened he wanted to show Mac he deserved way better than

he’d gotten from that jerk-off ex-boyfriend of his. He wanted

to take him out on his first proper date. He wanted to drive him

crazy with pleasure… hopefully so much that nobody else would

be able to measure up.

Ever.

He needed for Mac to remember him with a smile, and that

was why he’d invited the kitten on this interlude. He wanted to do

everything he could to ensure he’d be as good a memory for Mac

as Sam knew the kitten was going to be for him.

The plane finally taxied into the terminal and Sam was out of

his seat before they’d fully stopped. Mac’s flight was scheduled to

land forty minutes earlier than his, and because they were flying

the same line they’d agreed to meet at the gate.

He couldn’t wait to see his guy. It’d been too long since his

brief trip to Houston, and although watching Mac do wicked

things on camera was hot as hell, it didn’t compare to being able

to touch him and kiss him and do all kinds of sexy things to him.

Plus he hadn’t been able to forget how good it felt to have Mac

lick all that chocolate syrup off him.

Sam wanted more of that. He wanted Mac’s tongue and

fingers and lord help him, he even wanted his dick. He wanted

for the guy to be the first and probably only man to ever take

him.

He sent a silent thank you to the heavens for his seat being

close to the exit and rushed off the plane. One minute later he

was looking around for Mac. His guy towered over pretty much

everybody, but what caught Sam’s attention was the adorable

dimpled smile that appeared the second he spotted Sam. Months

ago, that smile had been the first thing about Mac that made him

go a little weak in the knees, and that hadn’t changed one bit.

Sometimes he thought there was nothing he wouldn’t do to get

the Texan to give him that smile.

He couldn’t help but smile back.

Both men walked right into the other. Arms wrapped around

Sam’s waist and Mac’s shoulders, and mouths fused together in

the most passionate “Hello” Sam ever shared with anyone, right

there in Gate 26, with the locals and the tourists and the gods as

witnesses.

He didn’t care that he didn’t do shit like this. That their

behavior spoke of lovers and not fuck buddies. He was just

happy that Mac didn’t have a problem with kissing him in a room

full of people. It wouldn’t make a difference when everything

was said and done between them, but for the time being it was

important and Sam was pleased.

Mac ended their kiss and brushed Sam’s jaw lightly with his

strong fingers before taking a step back. “You had a good flight?”

“It was okay.” He glared at all the nosy bodies staring at them.

“Had the most beautiful grandma sleeping on me all the way from

New York.” Mac chuckled and Sam had to control the urge to

claim his mouth one more time. “How about yours? Turbulence?

Rough landing?” He studied Mac’s gorgeous face intently for a

few seconds. “I’m guessing no, as you don’t look too green.”

“That’s only ’cause I’ve had almost an hour to recover,” Mac

confessed with a sheepish smile. “I was a sad case a while ago.”

“You look mighty fine to me now.” Sam’s voice came out thick

and throaty, proof of how very horny this man made him. Faded

jeans and a burgundy graphic t-shirt definitely did wonders for

Mac’s physique. “So fine, I can’t wait to get to the hotel, strip you

down, and eat your—”

“Let’s go get whatever luggage you brought.”

Mac grabbed his hand and practically dragged him away. For

some reason, instead of retrieving his hand and giving the guy

a piece of his mind for doing such a thing and taking boyfriend

liberties, Sam just smiled, closed his fingers around Mac’s and

literally followed his ass in complete silence to the baggage claim.

Mac in alpha mode was the hottest thing he’d ever seen…

right after Mac on his back, with his long legs spread wide, and

Sam’s cock buried deep inside him…or Mac fucking his own fist

while he watched Sam finger fuck himself.

Yeah… it was imperative they made it to the hotel.

To Mac, the taxi ride to their hotel felt longer than his flight

from Houston. There were too many pedestrians; too many cars

and traffic lights conspiring to slow down their progress. And

he was so desperate to get sweaty with the sexy guy he was in

danger of bursting right there in the damn car. Judging by Sam’s

erection, he was in the same predicament.

A new wave of lust hit Mac with the force of a damn tsunami.

He was painfully hard and definitely high on that little scene that

had taken place back in the terminal. The one where the man that

wasn’t his boyfriend hadn’t been able to hide how pleased he was

to see Mac, and kissed him with all he had in front of everybody.

Having Sam be open about his attraction and letting Mac be in

control meant the world to him.

One of the things he liked and respected about Sam was that

he never allowed for their sexual roles to influence the dynamics

of their arrangement. Granted, thus far he’d been in the receiving

end of business, so to speak, but not once had Mac been treated

like he was less of a man because of it. In bed Sam cherished his

body, and out of it he treated him as his equal.

And wasn’t that a dream come true.

Taking a deep breath, he closed his eyes and rested his head

on the back of the seat, telling himself one more time it wouldn’t

be smart to read into anything out of the norm that happened

during their vacation. That it was just better to go with the flow,

to ignore the fact that, albeit involuntarily, Sam was the most

sensible, charming, alluring, engaging person he’d ever met. He

was also beautiful and provocative, and Mac couldn’t help feeling

enthralled by him.

That was something he needed to nip in the bud, or he’d end

up losing his heart to a man who didn’t intend to keep him for

the long run.

A strong hand rubbing his hard-on and a butterfly kiss on his

chin made him snap his eyes open.

“Stop thinking so damn hard,” his Yank whispered. “Or do

you want me to have a full blown headache by the time we get

to the hotel?”

Mac closed his eyes again and sighed, loving that side of Sam

that was teasing and carefree.

“How ‘bout I fully blow your cock instead?” he murmured

softly, and the second he turned his head so that he could witness

Sam’s reaction to his words, his guy’s tongue swept inside his

mouth, tasting sweet and damn near close to heaven.

Mac dug his fingers in silky black hair and twisted his own

tongue around Sam’s, not giving a shit they were making out like

horny teenagers or that he was close to blowing his load in the

backseat of a cab.

But maybe the driver did, because the car came to a sudden

stop.

Mac blushed. Sam glared at the dude. The driver threw them

a warning look and changed lanes.

“Asshole,” Sam whispered, closing his hand on Mac’s thigh.

“Not here, darlin’.” Because he didn’t want problems, he

moved Sam’s hand to his stomach and covered it with his own.

“Let’s just wait, okay?”

Scowling at the driver one more time, Sam finally gave up and

went back to his side of the seat, his shoulder and leg brushing

Mac’s. “Mind stepping on it, buddy?”

Mac settled down and concentrated on the ride, letting the

beautiful architecture of South Beach take his mind out of the

gutter. By the time the driver pulled up in front of their hotel a

good thirty minutes later and just on time for their three o’clock

check in, he was calm enough to not embarrass himself.

To say he was struck speechless would be an understatement.

He let the bellhop take care of their luggage and grinned at Sam

when the two of them followed the guy through the front door

and into the lobby, which was extravagant yet relaxing, and most

definitely a far cry from the low budget or chain hotels Mac had

previously stayed in.

Six stories tall, the colors and decor were very much

representative of the art deco style South Beach was so famous

for, and he found himself tracing the engraved flowers on the

light wood front desk while Sam checked them in. The place felt

private and secluded and had an incredible energy to it, as though

compelling guests to relax and have a good time.

It also felt incredibly romantic.

Was that the reason Sam seemed to be tense all of a sudden?

Had he not known what kind of place this particular hotel was

before booking it?

They passed on having anyone escort them and carried their

own bags to room 515, just like Mac had requested. Sam let him
