“I already seen it, so you can get dressed.” I sucked my teeth and dropped my towel and got dressed. Once I was done getting dressed he still was laid out on my bed. “Now was that so hard?” he asked as he sat up and kissed me on my lips. I bit my bottom lip and thought hard about my next choice.

Waking up the next morning, guilt took over my body; I couldn’t believe I went down this road with him again. It was as if the only time we got along or talked was when we were having sex. I wanted to know what this meant for us. Were we co-parenting or were we back together? I let out a deep sigh and headed to take a shower. I threw on some sweatpants and put my hair up into a messy bun. I walked out my room to find the house quiet with no one in it; I started to panic and went to pick up my phone only to find a posted note from Trey.

Took the girls to the park with Nine and I. ~Trey

I calmed down and called to see where Shyla was, I hated when she just up and went places without me. I couldn’t stand it, especially now with all the bullshit, I couldn’t have anything happening to my best friend.

“Shy, where are you?”

“This isn’t Shyla, bitch. I told you, you would never be a part of this family! If you want to see your friend again you’ll do as I say. Expect a call in three hours, bitch!” I knew it was Star on the phone but I thought she had gone to Houston. I guess she came back.

Shyla:

“Welcome to HELL, little bitch!” I heard Star say to me as if it was going to scare me. She had me tied to a chair with a rag in my mouth to keep me from talking. I tried my best to look afraid when in all actuality I knew where we were and I knew once word got back to my father that she had kidnapped me and took me to his trap, she was going to wish she stayed in Houston. I attempted to move the chair only to fall backwards.

“You’re not going to get away that easily. See, you allowed your best friend to take everything away from me. I knew someone who always wanted you, so I’m giving him a chance to have you now.” I watched as Bibby, one of Trey’s old friends from high school, walked in. I remembered he helped break up the fight between Jordyn and TaKiera. I looked up with pleading eyes as he tossed a baggie of coke to Star. She smiled as she walked out of the room.

“You don’t have to do this!” I said with pleading eyes. I was basically crying. He untied me from the chair only to tie me to a bed I didn’t know was in the room. “Please, Bibby, don’t do this!” he smacked me with the butt of a gun and I was asleep for the next couple of hours.

Jayden:

Looking down at my phone, I almost cried. On my screen was a picture of Shyla lying in a pool of blood. I jumped out of the bed I was sharing with Treasure, and throwing on some sweats I headed towards the apartment she shared with Jordyn and Nine. I was speeding, wishing my car would move faster. Pulling up to the apartment I got pissed. Banging on the door, I could hear the twins crying, indicating that I probably woke them up. Jordyn snatched the door up then I looked at the time and realized it was 4:00 a.m.

“WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU WANT?” she yelled in my face.

              “What’s going on with Shyla?”

“Your coke head mother kidnapped her and took her to some unknown location. My brother is tracing the call now. Just know your mother is going to DIE when I find her. Now excuse me as I go help Trey put our daughters back to sleep,” she said, closing the door in my face. I rubbed my hand over my face and went back to my apartment. Walking in, I already knew Treasure was going to be on some bullshit. I sighed and dropped my keys on the coffee table and plopped down on the couch. I could feel the tears threatening to fall from my eyes. I could hear footsteps and knew they belonged to Treasure.

“Where the hell you went at four in the fucking morning, Jayden?”

“I’m not in the mood, Treasure so take your pregnant ass back to bed.” She was finally in her last trimester and was becoming even more annoying to me.

“Whatever, Jayden, you walked out of here to see that young bitch you were fucking while I was gone. Well I’m back now, so it’s her or me and your kids! Make up your mind fast, ‘cause I could always go back to where I was and work.” I sucked my teeth.

“SHUT THE FUCK UP! You really on some bullshit right now. Don’t try to bring the kids into this. You worried about where I was? I was gone for 30 minutes and I went to see my sister because her best fucking friend got kidnapped. You over here being petty for what? Grow up and act your age!” I said, picking up my keys again and walking out. I pulled out my phone and called my father. He had come back in town after Jordyn was shot.

“Pops, we need to talk!” I said, hanging up without giving him a chance to say anything. I texted Jordyn and told her to meet me at his hotel. It was 8 a.m. now so I knew she was up and most likely dressed.

Pulling up to my dad and Tinker’s hotel, Jordyn was pulling in next to me. She didn’t say anything to me. She just rolled her eyes and walked in. I had told my father to meet us at the bar. I was about to ask Jordyn what the attitude was about but didn’t have the time to because my dad and Tinker walked in holding hands. I could hear Jordyn suck her teeth at the sight.

“Jayden, hurry up. I have to get back to my kids.” I looked at her as if she was dumb. Was this not her best friend?

“I thought Shyla was your best friend and you don’t want help to find her.”

“She is my best friend and I already found her! Thank you very much. Go back home to the bitch you playing house with,” she said as she sucked her teeth.

“At least I play house with the mother of my child! You let Trey smash and play with the kids when he wants to. You just a thot, if you ask me!” She chuckled at my remark.

“I’m a thot now but yet you lay up with a bitch who was out in Atlanta—never left Atlanta, might I add—fucking the team. Come on, nigga. You have to do better, Jayden. I know shit that would have you shitting in ya’ pants. Like are you stupid or something?” she said as she flipped her hair and was about to walk out before turning around. “She actually helped your mother set Shy up, so you might want to hide her ‘cause once she drops, she’s flat lining.” She walked away again and then stopped right before she walked out of the door. “Get a blood test, too!” I ordered three shots of Henny straight and took them to the head. I looked at my father and Tinker and they were both speechless.

Chapter 23:

I had on my all black bodysuit with a tool belt filled with weapons. I was still pissed at how Jayden came at me like I was some little ass kid who needed to hear his opinion especially, when he was the one with the girl who fucked half of the A. I pulled up with Kayden, Nicole, Natalia, and Kathy, preparing ourselves for what was about to happen. I tried to talk Kayden out of coming but she was down for getting rid of Star after finding out she had stole Kayden from her sister who was Big Jay’s mistress and Kayden’s biological mother. It was crazy because that meant that Big Jay had been cheating the entire relationship. After staking out the trap for a couple of hours we saw the last two guards walk out. That was our cue to go in for the kill, walking to the building cautiously to make sure no one was watching us. Walking in, I could smell piss, blood, shit, and vomit, I entered the room that they were keeping Shyla in and almost broke down at the sight of my best friend. I untied her from the bed. She was unconscious and I was scared that I waited too long. I put her frail body over my shoulder and put her in the truck. There was no sign of Star but when I found her she would be dying slowly and painfully. We pulled up to the hospital and they tried to ask questions. The story was she was our sister who was missing for the past two days and while posting flyers of her we found her in an alley. I sat on the chair in the waiting room, rocking back and forth. I looked up to see her parents walking in with my mother and Tinker. I sucked my teeth. I was disgusted with my mother for going back to Big Jay. First real love or not she was still considered a side chick because he was still legally married. I watched as Trey and Nine walked in with the twins. It was the first time that Shy’s mom got to see them in person. Too bad it took this to happen for her to see them. Once the doctor came out my stomach dropped. He didn’t even have to call her name because we were already in front of him.

“Well Shyla suffered from a fractured skull, broken nose, and three broken ribs. There is severe vaginal tearing. She lost a lot of blood. Be thankful you found her when you did. We had to put her in a medically induced coma, which just means she is sleeping; it her choice to wake up. It could take hours, days, maybe even months for her to wake up. Due to the vaginal tearing we ran a rape kit but it looks like whoever did it was very clean about the situation. I wish we could do more but for now all we can do is wait it out.” I tried my best not to cry but I couldn’t. I broke down after hearing what the doctor had said.

Kayden:

It was hard to see Jordyn, Nicole, and Natalia break down after hearing what the doctor said. It got worse when we went back to see her. She was connected to a tube and had wraps all over her body. I watched as Jordyn speed walked out and got the twins from Trey. I knew they were the only thing that was keeping her calm. I looked over at my dad and in some way shape or form I blamed him for leaving and going back to Tinker. I could tell Jordyn was disgusted with their actions because she hadn’t said a word to them since she got shot. Everyone left the hospital. I headed to the house for the first time since I told her I was going to the mall a week and a half ago. As soon as I walked in I found Star in a compromising position with Trey’s friend Bibby. I was disgusted with her actions to the point I called Jordyn. I knew telling Jordyn that Star was in the living room with Bibby would have her here with guns blazing. Not even ten minutes later, Jordyn was pulling up in the same outfit. She didn’t even knock. She just walked in and I knew right then Star wasn’t making it out alive. I watched as Jordyn literary grabbed her off of Bibby and slammed her into the coffee table. She pulled out her gun, made sure her silencer was on, and shot Bibby one time in between the eyes.

“You wanted this battle, right, Star? I’m here. Come for me!” I watched as Star attempted to run, causing Jordyn to pull her back by hair and slam her to the floor. “Defend yourself now, Star! Where is TaKiera now, huh?” she asked, punching her in the face. Star spat at her, causing Jordyn to become enraged. Jordyn was basically torturing her as she pulled out her knife and cut off her hands. “That’s for your daughter thinking I was playing when I said not to touch my kids.” Then with one quick motion she stabbed her in the chest and turned the knife. We watched together as Star took her last breaths. I called the cleanup crew and we both left the house.

Jayden:

I hated even being here right now; I couldn’t stand to be around Treasure knowing that she help Star set up Shyla. I kind of figured that I would be getting the call that she’s dead soon since I could see it in Jordyn’s eyes when she left. Yes, that was my mother but karma was a bitch so if she died it was what she deserved. I also knew that Jordyn wasn’t playing when she said she was killing Treasure as soon as she dropped. No one saw the changes in Jordyn but I did. I’d been seeing them since the day she called Trey after killing the two dudes in that broke in the house. It was as if killing had become some kind of addiction to her. I held Ivy in my arms since she was starting to act out more lately. She knew that she wasn’t going to be the only child much longer. I gave my daughter hugs and kisses as her mother came and sat down next to me.

“I see you made your choice last night, so I booked my flight to go back to where I was.” I laughed at her statement, thinking about what Jordyn had told me.

“And where exactly was that? Bankhead?” She sat there stunned at my question. “You can go but you ain’t taking Ivy with you. You can give me a call when that baby drops. We both know if it’s missing my eyes it ain’t mine,” I said as I picked Ivy up and headed to her playroom, leaving Treasure there to feel dumb.

“She’s not yours either!” I looked at Treasure standing in the doorway. “You can’t claim one and then deny the other. That’s not fair to the kids we laid down to make.”

“We may have laid down to make her but who knows if that one is mine. Like I said, when it gets here we WILL get a test done. Any more questions?” She walked out and slammed the door. I guess I was supposed to feel a way about her slamming doors and shit.

Chapter 24:

Being aware of my surroundings I broke into the home Trey once shared with TaKiera. After they released her from the hospital she went MIA. I couldn’t stand the fact that she was running around town freely. Even after putting a bounty on her head she still wasn’t found. I just wanted the bitch dead. She fucked with my family, so I fucked with hers. Too bad they were all dead now ‘cause they wouldn’t have had a problem with snitching on her. I sucked my teeth as I turned to walk out the apartment. It looked like no one had been there in weeks. I heard a baby cries and walked in the direction they were coming from. I prayed that this bitch did not leave her son in here by himself. Opening the room door, I found little Trey attempting to eat paper. I picked him up and he stopped crying as soon as he saw my face.  I walked out of the apartment and took little Trey to the apartment. It wasn’t kidnapping because Trey’s name was on his birth certificate. Walking in with him in my hands, I watched Trey stop playing with the twins and look at him.

“Daddy!” little Trey said as he reached over for him.

“Bathe him, feed him, and I’ll be back with some clothes. I’ll take the twins with me,” I said as he leaned over and kissed me on my check. I picked up the twins and got them dressed and packed their diaper bag. I knew Trey was hurt seeing his son like that, even if he wasn’t his, he raised him so therefore he was his son.
