“Thanks. At least my taste in women is similar, even if I’m drunk or drugged out of my mind.”

“Yep. So what do you want to do about the imminent arrival of the idiot stalker, Mr. Brett Bogner?”

Jackson balanced his elbows on his knees and steepled his fingers together. He stared at nothing in particular for a full five minutes. Derek knew to give him a few minutes to think a problem through. Often he had very clear and sturdy ideas when it came to solving life’s little issues.

“As I see it, we have a couple ways to go here. Either we stay long enough to introduce ourselves as her husbands. Or we depart before he gets here and take her back to the DRMC property and hide her there until he goes away. Or perhaps both.”

Derek took a moment to think before saying, “Given that he’s already on a flight winging its way here soon, I agree with choice number three. We tell him she’s already married, and then refuse to give him any access by way of our place in Colorado.”

“The only problem is that she wants to go back to her own home eventually. Kind of hard to blame her. She wants her life back.”

The very idea sent a low pain across Derek’s chest. “So why don’t we go ahead and pack up. We can take her back to Colorado with us for now. Once there, we can reassess our options when the time comes that she needs to get back to her other home.”

Jackson stared at him for a few minutes and nodded. Was he surprised that Derek wasn’t ready to let her go? He wasn’t sure he was ready to blurt out all his feelings regarding their surprise wife just yet. He suspected that Jackson might be plotting the best and fastest way to keep her. He’d never wanted to get married, but now Derek knew he also didn’t want to annul the surprise wedding.

“Fine. We’ll pack up and get ready to go. Let’s just take a private jet. First class won’t be as comfortable, but whatever, it will be faster. We might even be able to make the meeting later on.”

“Clay already postponed it until tomorrow.”

Jackson ducked his head. “Good. One less thing to worry about today.”

“Since you were the one frolicking with her in the fountain, would it be better for me to intervene and be her new bodyguard, or would you like to do it as her new, shiny husband?”

Jackson smiled. “We could both go. Will you promise not to go all ape shit on him? I don’t want to have to bail you out of jail.”

“Very funny.” He looked down at his abraded knuckles. “Fine. You go be the husband for this one. I don’t trust myself. Makes more sense anyway. Let’s hope this stalker listens better.”

“No. Let’s hope this one doesn’t try to kidnap, drug, and rape her.”

“Right.” The twinge of guilt for laying a hurt on the man who’d kidnapped Alexis fell away. He wasn’t sorry he’d bloodied the man or beat him unconscious. He’d likely never be sorry.

“When will her stupid stalker be here again?” Jackson asked.

Derek glanced at his watch. “His flight should land in less than an hour. So say the next thirty minutes to an hour after that, and he’ll likely be in the hotel.”

Jackson nodded. “So should we just wait for him to make contact, or be proactive?”

He shrugged. “We’ll have to. I’m only assuming he’ll come here. I don’t have a GPS tracker on him or anything.”

Jackson smiled. “Smart-ass. I meant, should we leave before he finds us?”

“Let’s find out for certain what his intentions are.”

Before they moved, Alexis came slowly through the door from the bedroom.

“What whose intentions are? What is going on?” She looked sleep rumpled and completely gorgeous. They both stood up as she came closer.

“I hate to tell you this,” Jackson began, “but your annoying stalker is on his way here.”

She blanched. “What?” Sucking in a deep breath, she then added, “How do you know he’s on his way here?”

“Remember that security guy friend of ours that we told you about? The one that pieced together our wedding night?”

She nodded. “I remember. His name is Clay, right?”

“Yes. Clay has mad computer skills. He looked into your stalker to see whether he’s a serious threat and discovered that he was on his way here after the fountain video went viral.”

“Great.” She covered her eyes with one hand. “Where shall I hide out now? Guess I should just think about heading home. Maybe I can get to the airport before he realizes I’m gone.”

Derek had a pang of panic. He didn’t want her to go back home. He wanted her to come back to Colorado with them. They could extend their honeymoon a little longer. Maybe forever.

Now to convince Alexis.

Chapter Twelve

Alexis removed the hand from her eyes and pushed out a long sigh of frustration. “But where the hell would I go? If I go home, he’ll just show up eventually. He’s been hands off up to now, but who’s to say that will remain the same?”

When would she ever get her life back? She glanced at first Jackson and then Derek. The better question was, did she even want her old life back?

They’d stepped away from her for less than an hour, and she’d nearly gotten raped. She’d been here in the first place to avoid an annoying overfriendly date, and nearly made things worse for herself.

Then again, Jackson and Derek were each a nice, delectable reward for her in this drama-filled situation. They certainly kept her mind off the disaster that had become her life in a most delicious way. But how could she ask to change her mind and go live with them for a few days?

“You could come back to Colorado with us,” Jackson said.

Crap
. Could they read her mind?

She looked at Derek. He nodded in agreement. “Sure. You have a few days before you have to be back at work, right? Hang out at our ranch property for as long as you need to.”

“Are you sure? I’d hate to impose.”

“Not at all.” Jackson approached her. It seemed so natural to slip her arms around him. Seconds later, Derek smashed up against her back. Sandwiched between them, Alexis knew she’d never ever feel as safe as she did while surrounded by these two amazing men.

Jackson lowered his mouth to hers and kissed her gently. Derek pressed feathery kisses to the back of her neck.

He broke the connection. “Come home with us.”

Derek whispered in her ear. “We can keep you both safe and occupied for as long as you need us.”

She giggled. “Of that, I have no doubt.”

Jackson pulled her hips against his growing cock. “What do you say? Want to hide out with us?”

“I’m thinking.”

“Stop thinking. Just say yes. You know it’s the other reason we came back here this morning. We wanted to convince you to spend a little time with us.” Derek nibbled her shoulder.

“If we do go to your place, then I could see the Stadium, right?”

“Is that a selling point? I’d be delighted to show you to our private box. We could watch the coming event scheduled later in the week.”

“Okay. I’ll go. But just until my vacation ends and I need to go back home.”

“Perfect. Let’s get packed up. The Stadium can be your going-home present.”

Derek turned her around so that Jackson was now digging his hard cock into her butt cheek. “Do you want to try to explain that you’re married woman to your stalker, Brett? One of us could put the fear of God into him for you.”

She shrugged. “I wish I knew whether it would help or hurt.”

“If we tell him you’re married, don’t you think he’ll leave you alone?”

“Maybe for a while. But once I go back home and the annulment is final, he might just resume following me.” The possibility of having to give up these two perfect men stung her soul. She didn’t want the annulment. But she didn’t want to give up her job, either. Beyond the fabulous sex they’d shared in Sin City, she was fairly certain the two of them didn’t want a permanent wife in their bachelor lives either.

Jackson laughed and kissed the spot below her ear. “We can let slugger here take a swing at him. Maybe then he’d stay away for good.”

She smiled. “Brett isn’t on the same level as the pervert that tried to hurt me here in Vegas. He’s never even touched me. If we see him today, I fully expect that he will simply say that he’s worried about me and want to ensure I’m safe.”

“Yeah, safe in
his
arms,” Derek said.

She shrugged. “Yes. Quite possibly. And then he would follow me around everywhere.”

“As your current husband. I have a problem with that. Besides, aren’t you here to get away from him? Doesn’t that invalidate this trip?”

“Yes.” Her shoulders slumped. The weight of her issues pushed at her body as if she was tied to an extra gravitational force doing its best to grind her into the ground permanently. “Which means I can’t go home and I can’t stay here. I guess I will accept your generous offer for another hiding place in Colorado. At least for a few more days until I can figure out something else.”

Jackson brushed his lips along a sensitive place below her ear. “I will talk to Brett on our way out of here.”

She looked up into his beautiful eyes. “What will you say to him?”

“Stay away from my wife!” His elevated tone made her heart speed. She wished he truly felt that way behind trying to get rid of her annoying stalker.

“If he doesn’t listen, then Derek can use his Fists of Fury to get his attention.”

Derek sighed. “That never gets old for you, does it?”

“No. Not so much.”

Derek smiled. He led Alexis to the bedroom and helped her gather her belongings. Jackson arranged for their limo and a private jet with a single phone call.

They packed up everything, which didn’t take too long since she was the only one still in the room, and headed out.

The hotel room phone rang right before they walked through the door to leave. Jackson answered it.

“Hello.” The expression on his face hardened as he listened. “No. I’ll be right down to talk to him. Right.”

Jackson turned to them and said, “A Mr. Brett Bogner is down at the desk asking for your room number so that he can come up and speak to you.”

Derek’s hands fisted. “Want me to go with you to tell him to get lost or else?”

“Sure. Why don’t you play the role of our bodyguard? That way Brett won’t need to be involved with our wife’s security. He can move on with his life.”

Alexis was touched at the protective nature each of them exuded. She wouldn’t let them hurt Brett, but it was nice not to have to face him alone.

Jackson grabbed her hand, slipped his fingers through hers, and squeezed gently as they rode down the elevator. “Don’t worry. We’ll tell him in no uncertain terms that he’s not welcome in your presence any longer.”

She nodded. Maybe the two of them could keep Brett away from her even after she went back home. Alexis scoffed to herself. That would be a miracle.

The elevator arrived and the doors opened. Alexis paused before stepping inside. Her heart rate sped. She squeezed Jackson’s hand harder before stepping inside. Her last trip in an elevator had been much more harrowing. She hadn’t realized how much it bothered her until they stepped inside. A low, hollow, empty feeling in her stomach had her reaching for Derek’s hand, too. He grasped her hand firmly. She tried to draw strength from them. It was silly to be afraid of an elevator.
