“Not interested,” Venus stated in a angry clipped tone.

“You don’t hafta be a bitch about it, just cuz your old man is right here. Listen,” he said bringing the bottle up to his mouth. “A couple of my dudes are down, we can all bang you at once…fill you up real good.”

Drake lost it, his vision swam to red. He heard Venus’ voice but his mind was focused on pounding this dude’s face in. He used his Vampyre speed to drag the little pervert into one of the dark alleys. Backhanding the punk hard, the drunk hit the brick building and slumped to the ground.

“Drake!” Venus called as she rounded the corner out of breath. “Don’t Drake, remember why we’re here.”
Drake growled low wanting to hurt the unconscious man but his woman was right. With an enormous amount of restraint, he walked out of the alley rolling his shoulders from the tension. He would have to settle for taking it out on their prey. A shrill scream pierced the night air but it was barely audible over the loud music. Venus glanced at Drake.

“Game on,” she said with a smile.

They found them. Thirteen, bloodthirsty, mindless Talmidim cornering a group of girls in one of the many dirty alleyways in the district. God, they stunk Venus thought to herself. These guys were bad with a capital B. Venus whistled low and long and half of the turned whipped around. Within two clicks they were in front of her and she let her body react with the training she worked so hard at. Three approached her at once and she whipped out a blade along her thigh. Ducking under a swing by a large male, she darted her arm out and plunged her knife into his knee. A shriek of pain erupted from the beast and Venus spun feeling the knife sink home in the next one and then empty space as it disintegrated. The third swept her legs and she fell backward, the knife falling from her hand. A glance to her left and she saw Drake busy with five of his own. Venus rolled and popped up, getting as much space as she could in the tiny alley. She pulled out another blade from her backside and circled the third. He was drooling from the mouth, eyes red and wavering like he was insane. His breaths were short and heavy as if laboring. He darted forward using his speed and she had but a fraction of a second to make a move. She sprung upwards using his incoming body as a catapult and somersaulted over the top of him turning before her feet hit the ground and plunged her blade through his back finding his heart. Before she could let our a breath, the first wrapped his arms around her legs and bit down through her pants onto her thigh. Venus screamed, her body buckling under the force of his savage attack. Still screaming, she raised her knife and stabbed him in the only exposed area she could reach, the side of his neck. He let out a roar and lunged up as he grabbed her to pull her further down. He was going in for the kill. Venus took that tiny slice of opportunity and sunk her blade deep into his chest, pleading aloud that it pierced the right spot. Ashes rained down on her as she felt his fangs graze her throat.

Venus gritted her teeth as she struggled to her feet, her wounds not healing near as fast as they would if she were full Vampyre. Her leg was a bloody mess, pieces of flesh torn away, valuable muscle eviscerated.

“Venus!” Drake exclaimed after he entered a Talmidim’s chest cavity with just his hand and removed his heart.

He started to her but several more Talmidim broke away from the group attacking the women.

“Drake behind you,” she was able to call before he was ambushed.

Venus hobbled over gaining attention from two of the Talmidim surrounding Drake. Their eyes were glued to where she bled, and they lunged for her simultaneously. This is going to hurt, she groaned inwardly. Landing on her back, she kicked her legs up in time to block the first but the second one landed on top of her with such force her already injured leg buckled. She threw up her arm to block his vicious jaws from clamping around her throat and instead he pierced her forearm. Slipping her last knife from between her breasts, she palmed it in her other hand and plunged hard and held its position as the second Talmidim landed atop of it.

Venus let out a long, weary sigh and felt him. Arias. He was close and her body tingled with recognition. She didn’t have the strength to lift her head but her heart searched out for him. Her eyes fluttered shut as memories of him swamped her.

Drake fought quickly, exterminating the final bloodsucker with an exhausted roar and immediately went to Venus’ side. She lay bleeding and in pain on the filthy streets. Why was he letting her do this, he thought to himself. Damn it, she was going to get herself killed. He cradled her in his arms and brought his wrist to her mouth. He needed to get her out of here before their presence brought more to him, especially with Venus bleeding  out. She nursed at his wrist as he scooped her up and darted through the streets. By the time he stepped foot on castle grounds, she was finished and her wounds her healed and she was snoring softly against his chest.

Arias had been perched up on top of the tall brick building watching the events unfold beneath him. He knew the minute she arrived within five miles of the district. Him, too. His body was tense watching her struggle with his men. He had to force himself not to swoop in for a rescue. Even though his current plan involved keeping his regiment alive and killing, he couldn’t help looking down on his Queen with pride for her strength and determination. She looked amazing as always. Her caramel colored hair pulled into a ponytail and she donned skin tight black apparel. He’d rather keep her in shears and jewels but he could definitely appreciate this assassin look. His enemy on the other hand…he poured all of his menace and hatred into hoping that one of those wretched suckers would take him out. But Drake was good…if Arias and he were ever to go head to head if would be a war that’s for sure. Arias turned his back on the couple when he began to feed her. He definitely couldn't stomach that site so he leapt from building to building quickly getting himself out of the city, towards their safe house in Versailles.

His cell phone vibrated in his pocket, tearing his thoughts away from Venus.

“Yes Justice,” he growled into the phone.

“My lord, we have a guest in Versailles,” Justice said his voice wavering on the word guest.

“Who is it?”
Justice cleared his throat audibly.

“Ahem…a welcome ally your highness.”

“Spit it out damn it, I am in no mood for guessing games.”
“My lord, the Rex Deus are not the only line that has angelic allies.”
Apollyon, Arias thought as he snapped his phone shut. A very welcome ally indeed. The only fallen archangel…also known as Lucifer or the Devil. The one thing that everyone does get it common is that he’s terrifying, sadistic, and if he was so interested in taking part of this blood feud, he had some sort of ulterior motive. Arias had only seen him once, when he was but a child. When his father ruled over the bloodline so many years ago, he summoned Apollyon for aid to wage war on the others but was refused. The Descendants had virtually forgotten about the angel because of his refusal to partake in their battles. Now, he was here and for what exactly?

The safe house in Versailles, from the outside looked like a 6 story apartment building, complete with Wynngate Apartment Homes signs, front office staff, and gardeners. All levels housed Vampyres of the bloodline. The private entrance was below ground, accessed through the parking garage. As Arias punched in the key code to the secret entrance, he started to feel the angel’s energy. It was a pulsating, dark energy. It weighed on his shoulders and he took a deep breath before entering the safe house because he was sure it would be a thousand times stronger inside. He was greeted at the door by Justice who had felt him coming. As he stripped out of his leather trench coat, Justice filled him in on a few things.

“He is currently entertaining himself on a few Talmidim women,” Justice stated with a snort.

“What is his mood like?” Arias asked cautiously.

“Surprisingly, he is interested in our strategies, as well as what role Ivan will play. He has asked about the Rex Deus’ angel,” Justice paused. “And he has taken a particular interest in Venus.”

Arias’ jaw clamped down so tightly that his fangs severed his tongue.

“Damn it,” he muttered to himself.

Justice led him to one of the 6
th
floor rooms. The apartment building was not lavish, not updated. Just an old apartment complex that served its purpose. Arias turned the knob to Apartment 602 and the vision of the enormous dark angel fucking one of his Vampyres filled his sight. Arias brushed past them, beating down his annoyance, and seated himself on one of the loveseats. He had to wave off a couple of other Talmidim women in the room that were awaiting their turn with the angel.

“Arias,” huffed Apollyon between thrusts, “Pleasure to see you looking so well after all these years. No longer a little boy.”

“Yes, far from a little boy. You have not changed a bit Apollyon. I see your appetite has not waned with age.”

The angel grunted as his thrusts built to a lightning fast crescendo. The Vampyre beneath him squealed with glee as she bit down into his wrist. The angel wrapped his large hands around her throat and squeezed. As he emptied himself into her with a long groan, he twisted and pulled separating her head from her spine. The other mindless Talmidim whores just giggled at the blood spray as he pulled out of her and cleaned himself off.

Arias shook his head in disgust but waited patiently for Apollyon to regain some of his decorum, if there was any left.

“Leave us,” Arias snarled to the remaining women in the room and they scattered, obeying their blood calling.

“Why do you come now Apollyon?” Arias inquired before the angel seated himself.

“Right to the meat of the matter. That’s why I liked your family Arias. No beating around the bush. You are on the brink of war, my friend.”

“You did not come to our aid before.”

“It was not time then Arias. You must know that now….”

“What do you want Apollyon? What is in it for you?”

The angel burst into a roaring laughter.

“You must be joking right? A war to avenge all of the fallen won’t benefit me at all? I have been seething for revenge for much too long my friend. Getting my hands on Michael alone would be worth it.”

“Tell me what you bring to the table.”

“Soldiers…Angels, fallen or not, cannot be killed by anyone or anything other than another angel. Yet, as proven by the carnage still in this room, we can kill anything we desire.”

Arias searched the angel’s dark eyes, knowing that he was leaving something out. Glancing at Justice, he knew his Lieutenant thought so too.

“Come now Apollyon…spill it. What else are you not telling me?”

Apollyon got up from the couch opposite Arias and began pacing the room, his bare arms folded behind his naked back. Arias had never seen an angel half naked before and from behind, the hard flap that their wings folded up into was noticeable. Arias knew that at any given moment, at the angel’s command enormous wings would unfold from that flap. It was one of the most majestic things to behold. Arias also knew that all the fallen angel’s wings, including Apollyon's, were a shiny black, blacker than a raven’s wing. In comparison, angels like those that the Rex Deus had in their corner, had enormous, white billowing wings.

Arias glanced up from his thoughts. Apollyon was staring hard at him apparently sizing him up. It made Arias’ muscles clench up automatically for a fight. The next second, the angel relaxed and his face broke into a radiant smile.

“There is nothing to worry about old friend. My league of dark angels will win this war for you and the Descendents of Cain will rule the world. It has been foretold.”
“Truly?” Arias had to ask. “You have certain knowledge that Venus will be mine…that our child will bring us all into a new world.”

Apollyon turned his back and his wing slit flapped opened and closed as if the angel’s wings would sprout at any moment.

“I am certain we will be victorious.”

“Then let us talk strategy,” Arias stated regally.

Venus stretched her sore muscles against Drake’s plush bed. His loft was much more comfortable than the Rex Deus Castle so they two had been staying there until they would be forced to move. The elders of the bloodline wanted her turned and for them to rule the Rex Deus as dictated by tradition. However, neither Venus nor Drake were by any means traditional though. Venus squinted into the sliver of sunlight that peeked through the dark drapes. He had been there, she thought with surprising joy as she replayed the night’s events in her head. How could she have forgotten what her other half’s blood calling felt like. She shivered under the sheets as she pictured Arias’ dark frame, every bulge of sinewy muscle, his beautiful chiseled face and oh she could almost feel his soft touch against her skin. Venus slid her hand beneath the sheets and ran her fingertips along her stomach. She let out a breathy sigh as she imagined his hot mouth burying itself against her core. Her fingers dove in, surprising herself with how wet she was just from a few errant thoughts. She circled and plunged, teasing her clit like he would. Pinching and scraping like his fangs would.

Leaning against the door frame, Drake watched his woman relax on his bed. His lips quirked into a smile as he scented her arousal and he lost his breath when he saw her hand moving in rhythmic circles under the sheet. He grew long and hard and he pressed his hand against his swelling jeans. He wanted inside of her but he wanted to watch her, unnoticed…wanted to watch her gasp and moan and thrash in bed as she thought about him. He leaned back against the door and stroked himself through his jeans as she arched her back.
