“I know.  It slipped my mind, actually.  But I’ll check stuff out on Monday, for sure.  Especially given what I found out about Strover’s ex fiance, I’ll mention everything to Rene and Mo tomorrow.  It’s interesting that no one has seemed to talk to her for so long.  We should definitely see what we can find out there.”

“Agreed.”

“And,” he said after a moment of silence, “I talked to my parents about you,”

She picked her head up and smiled.  “Yeah?  I talked to my parents too.  My mom and Aunt April squealed.”

“My mom had a similar reaction,” he said dryly.  “Women,” he teased.  “She was very glad that you made me work for it.”

“I knew I liked your mother.”

“And my dad thinks I made a wise choice in picking a woman who can kick my ass.”

“I knew I liked your father.”

“He seems to think you’re gonna need to do that often.  And he’d like to watch.”

She giggled.

“You giggled again!  What’s happened to my tough-as-nails Sarah Connor chick from
Terminator
?” he asked in his best Arnold Schwarzenegger impression.  “You’re totally going soft on me.”

“You think?”  She crawled up his body and dragged his hands above his head.  “Does this hurt your ribs?”

“Nope.”

“Good.  Keep ’em there, Detective.”

His eyes sparked and he let out a satisfied moaning sound.  “God, I love you.  I think you should punish me.  Hurt me.  Something.”

“You told Jose you needed a lot longer than ten minutes,” she whispered against his lips.  “Do you think you can make it?  I’ll time ya.  You don’t have to do anything.  Just lay there.  Consider this one more day of some TLC.”

“Sweet Lord.  Not only can I make it, but I’ll fuckin’ enjoy every damn minute of it.  Have at me, sweetheart.”

She looked at the clock and made a mental note of the time.  “No touching unless I say,” she warned then she went to work.

Minute one was spent leaning over him nibbling at the tender flesh inside his wrists while her nipples hung over his mouth.

Minute two she focused on the inside of his elbows while rubbing her breasts against his chest.

Minute three she kissed his face, his neck and ended at his mouth.

He was beginning to sweat.

Minutes four and five were spent on his torso, where she sucked and nibbled and bit her way down to his hip bone while avoiding his bound ribs.

Minute six she bypassed his very hard erection and scratched her nails down his thighs where she latched onto the skin right next to his sac, nibbling at the flesh there.

His breathing was now labored.  She looked up at his eyes.  They were heavy lidded while he watched her.

Minute seven she spent some time enjoying the muscles at the insides of his knees.  His cock jumped.

Minute eight she squeezed her breasts around his penis and moved him between them while sucking the tip into her mouth.

Minute nine she let her nipples lightly skim into his hip bones while reaching down and fondling his balls causing a loud exhalation to escape from his mouth.

“One minute to go, Detective,” she purred.

“Suck me off, Em.  I’m beggin’ you,” he moaned.

“Maybe.”  She looked up at him, then wrapped her lips around his cock and sucked.

“Yeah, come on.”  She could tell he was starting to lose it.  His voice was rough, his hips moved to push himself deeper into her mouth.  He had begun to let out pants and groans.  She reached up and squeezed his balls and at the same time scraped her teeth along his shaft.

“Not yet, Detective,” she said after removing her mouth from him.

He was breathing as if he’d just finished working out.

She spent minute ten nibbling and biting, sucking lightly all around his shaft, and when minute eleven finally began, she went at him in earnest.

She looked him in the eyes and whispered, “Come in my mouth, Mike.”

With that she latched onto him, dug her nails into his ass, sucked him long and hard and let her tongue massage all around him.  Within seconds he let out a low, “
Fuuuccckk
,” and came in her mouth.

Success.

Moments later when she was nestled in his arms, he lay breathing heavily, barely able to string two words together.

Double success.

“Let’s do that again and again and again,” he finally mumbled snuggling her close to his body.

Her own body was on the verge of climaxing.  She was so turned on by what she’d done to him that she wasn’t nearly finished, the ache between her legs almost painful.  Could he feel how wet she was with her leg over his hip?  Maybe if she just moved a little to relieve the pressure –

“Rub into me.”  His low command came out in a gravelly voice.  His fingers found her nipple, pulling at it gently.  That caused her to gasp and circle her hips so her clit was being gloriously abraded by the skin at the top of his thigh.

“You’re so fuckin’ hot,” he said in her ear, plowing his other hand into her hair.  “So fuckin’ sexy.  Come on, baby.  Grind into me and let go.  I wanna hear you get off.”

She did and she made sure he heard it.

Chapter 21

“You should’ve seen the poor kid,” Rene said.  “He was so nervous.  I finally just backed off because he looked like he was gonna have a panic attack.”

The men along with Emily, Rene and Maurice were discussing Kevin Nolan, the junior boy who was the stepson to Vincent Strover.  They sat in the classroom for their last training session in preparation for the mentoring program to begin on that next Friday.

Rene had been sharing a conversation she’d had with Kevin from the day before when she’d asked him how his mother was doing.

“I really do think something is wrong,” Rene said biting her lip.  “I’m not trying to be an alarmist, but Kevin looked scared.  I’m not exaggerating.”

Mike began talking.  “Well, I did a little research.”  He recounted the info he’d already shared with Emily.

Maurice looked at Mike.  “I think it’s time we really started looking into Strover.  If the school hasn’t seen the mom since they’ve been married and she hasn’t been reached on the phone, it’s worth looking into, especially given Kevin’s reaction and what you found out.”

Mike pulled out his phone.  “I’ll have a guy at the precinct start pulling stuff on Strover and his wife.  Did she go by Nolan before marrying him?”

“Yeah,” Rene said.  “First name is Susan.”

Mike walked out of the room to talk on his cell while the rest of them continued talking.

“How’s Mike doin’?” Mo asked Emily in front of the group.  They’d spent the first few minutes of the training talking about Mike’s close call from a few nights earlier.  Everyone was obviously relieved he was okay.

“Surprisingly, he’s doing really well.  The rib isn’t even bothering him.  He says it’s only a little sore.”

Everyone mumbled affirmative remarks then Emily continued on with asking questions about Strover.  Talking about Mike’s close call always made her nauseous and she didn’t want to get sick in front of everyone.  “Drew, do you know anything specific about him?  I know you said he isn’t very well liked.”

“He’s received many accolades and awards, but yeah, he’s not well liked at the hospital,” Drew said.  “Very cocky, which is nothing new with doctors, but ever since we started talking about him, I’ve made some casual conversation with some of the nurses in the Gynecology wing and they’ve made some comments about how he may be a brilliant doctor, but they’d never have him as theirs.  One commented that he might be great to look at, but he gave her the willies.  I always trust a woman’s instinct whenever she has feelings like that.”

Mike walked back into the room just as Rene said, “Well, I told you about the meeting Emily and I had with him.  You should’ve seen how he was looking at her.”

Mike sat next to Jeremy.  “My buddy’s looking into it.  I’ll keep you all posted if anything pops up.  Do we think he’ll show up this Friday?”

“He said he was gonna let Kevin go to the first one and then get a ‘report’ from him to
determine if he was allowed to continue attending,” Rene explained, trying not to roll her eyes.

Mike was tapping his chin.

“What are you thinkin’, Cag?” Maurice asked.

“Maybe we should invite him to come on Friday.  See what he does.  Who’s got Kevin in their class?”

Rene looked at her sheets. “You and Jonathan.  But I’m not sure I want him here.  He’d take away from the experience for the kids.  And Kevin would never relax.”

“True,” Mike murmured.

“Let’s wait and see what you find out,” Luke said to Mike.  “If you find something that’s a red flag, we can take it from there.  You can gauge Kevin’s reactions during the class on Friday, try to get some more info out of him.”

“He’s a quiet kid,” Jon said.  “Like Rene said, a bit nervous.”

“Listen,” Emily said, “as the attorney, I need to say yes, the guy is an asshole.  But we have no evidence he’s done anything wrong.  I agree with Luke.  We wait and see what Mike finds out and take it from there.”

Everyone was quiet for a minute.  Rene was rubbing her eyes.

“No one has heard from her in a while.  Or I should say no one from the school has.  I don’t suppose someone can go check on her,” Rene asked hopefully.

Mike was tapping his chin again, thinking.  “We would need a reason for stopping by.”  They discussed for ten minutes more and then Mike’s phone rang.  “Hey Thompson.  Ya find something already?” he asked in surprise.

Everyone was quiet as Mike listened on the phone, his eyes turning serious while he nodded.  He looked directly at Emily.

“You’re good, Thompson,” Mike said, impressed.  “And quick.  Keep looking, will ya?”  He said thanks, then disconnected.  “Eighteen months ago, Susan Alicia Holbrook was brought into Bellvue via ambulance for her broken collarbone and a broken tailbone.”

“I’m assuming Susan Alicia Holbrook is Susan Nolan?” Maurice asked.

“Alicia is her middle name, Holbrook was her maiden name.  White female, late 30’s, blonde hair, green eyes.”  Mike looked at Rene and Mo.  “Does that sound like her?”

Rene’s hand was covering her mouth and nodding.

“And, wait for it,” he looked at all of them, “the record showed her teenage son was with her.”

“How did your guy find that so quick?” Jeremy asked, stunned.

“Cops are used to knowing how women cover up their domestic abuse attacks.  They almost always use aliases if they’re brought into the hospital and more often than not, they use variations of their names.  We plug different combos into the database and see what hits.  It was the mention of the son that caused Thompson to call me.”

“What if he’s done something to her?  Am I going overboard here?” Rene asked biting her lip.

Mike thought for a minute.  “What area of the City do they live in?”

Rene looked at her student sheets and mentioned an address in the West Village.

There was a crackling silence followed by a “No shit,” whispered by Jeremy.

Everyone but Rene and Maurice were looking at each other incredulously.  The Strovers lived one block away from Jeremy and Ryann.

……

“I’m coming with you,” Emily said to Mike while they finished up their Chinese takeout at Jeremy and Ryann’s brownstone later that night.  “I know what he looks like.”

“Yes, and he knows what
you
look like.  Which means he might be a little curious as to why you’re lurking outside his house,” Mike pointed out.  “Jem and I will go scope it out on our evening stroll through the neighborhood.”

“Listen, Detective, out of all of us here I’m the most experienced at street fighting and you know it,” she pointed at him.  “So you can just knock down that Caveman thing a bit, alright?  Plus, you’re just getting over an injury,” she said, trying not to sound worried.

Mike gave her an exasperated eye roll and put his hands on his hips.  “I don’t have an injury, Em.  The vest stopped that, remember?”  He walked over and kissed her nose, his actions softening his words.

Jeremy smacked his lips and looked innocently off to the side, trying not to get involved.  Ryann, however, had no problem with getting involved in the discussion.

“She’s right, of course,” Ryann interjected.  “And I
also
know him.  And Kevin, I might add.  So, what if Emily and I went for a walk instead of you two?  He’d be less threatened if he saw two women talking outside his place than two men.  We might even attract his attention.”

“No fucking way, Ryann.  No,” Jeremy said adamantly.

Her eyebrow shot up at his tone.  “Excuse me?”

“No, Ryann.  If this guy is as dangerous as we think he might be, you’re not going anywhere near him.”

“Calm down.  I can hold my own.  And what do you think he’s gonna do?  Come out of his house with guns blazing?”

“Don’t even joke about that, Ry,” Jeremy said, his face turning pale.  Her shooting still affected him deeply.  “There’s no way I would ever knowingly put you in harm’s way like that.  Ever.”
