I sighed. “Okay.”
I jumped on the bed and laid down with my eyes closed. I pretended to be asleep, but actually I was thinking about our marriage. I didn’t even know when the waiter came with the breakfast.

“Sweetheart, wake up. Breakfast is here.
I ordered some toast for you. I hope you’re okay with that.”

I opened my eyes
; maybe a few minutes had gone by or maybe half an hour had passed. I lost the sense of time completely.“Oh, yeah, sure.” I still thought that this would end up being a dream. I sat on the bed when Nathan brought breakfast in front of me. “Thanks, dear.”

“I’m your official servant
, now.” He laughed.

“You are so sweet
, Nathan.” I pulled his cheek, though I didn’t like his joke at all. His sweetness made me love him more.

“Let’s eat and have a bath together. I’ve already packed our bags, so we should be ready to leave for the airport after the bath.” He smiled.

“Of course.” I smiled back. “But do you think taking a bath together would be a good idea?”

“No. But
I have some plans for the shower.” He winked at me. I felt a sudden wetness between my thighs. Though I was tense, his words had the same magic on me. I looked at his groin; I saw the hardness of his cock. A desire pulsed through my whole body. After all, he was the man I craved.

“I have some plans for you
, too.” I gave him a sexy smile.

“Anyways,
I remember we had a great night last night.” He smiled and concentrated on his food.

I was still thinking about last night’s sex. It was definitely crazy.
I didn’t remember completely what we did, but when I woke up, my body was completely drained of any energy. We had done some pretty bad things.

“So what's the plan when we land in New York?” He
had flown back to Canada for me, leaving his match unfinished and we had never talked about what he was going to do once we headed back home. He must be planning to continue with his IT business.

The color on his face changed instantly, like
I had asked him something I shouldn’t have.

“Right now I’m thinking to go back and do some IT work.
I should be able to grab something.”

“That sounds cool.
I’ll check if I can get some clients for you.” I smiled. As I was in business now, I could easily get some work for him. At least I could ask my mom. And then I realized I would have to tell her about the marriage. She would freak out; there was no way she was going to agree to this. I imagined her face when she heard about it; she made funny faces in my imagination.

“Why are you laughing?” Nathan asked.

“Was I?”

“Yes, seems like you were day dreaming about something.”

“Yes, I was thinking about what my mom’s reaction would be when I tell her about our wedding.” I giggled.

“About the work thing. Don’t try using your company contacts . I’ll find something.” He said in a serious tone.

“But, It's not an issue for me. It will be a very easy job.”

“Don’t worry
, Eva, I do have some work already,” he replied confidently. “So when are you planning to tell your mother?”

“I don’t know. Maybe
I should tell her about it first. I just don’t know how she will react.”

“Who
, Chloe?”

“No
,dumb head, my mom.”

“What the heck
?” He patted on my head. “You’re changing the subject pretty fast. Let’s get the shower first. We have to catch a flight after that.” He smiled.

“Yup
, we have to.” Pressure on my heart was escalating slowly. I hadn’t told my mom about my visit to Vegas and I would be meeting her soon. She would be waiting for some in-person reports about the business in Canada, from me. I sighed. I set aside all the worries for the next day. It was a day to fly and enjoy it with my accidental husband.
Where is it going?
I didn’t have any answer for that one.

“Wake up
, babe.” Nathan was shaking my shoulder. I opened my eyes. The pilot was making an announcement for the landing.

“How long was
I asleep?” I stretched my hands in the air. A sheet fell down. I hadn’t take any sheet when I went to sleep. Nathan must have put it around me.
So sweet of him; I’ve never had a boyfriend who took care of me like this. Oops, I must say husband.
I felt safe with him. Though my heart was still unsure about the entire marriage thing, his behavior towards me remained the same, warm and passionate.

“More than an hour.” He lowered his face and kissed my cheek. Blood rushed down to my heart
, making my heartbeat a little faster. It didn’t matter how much time I spent with him; his presence always made my heart beat faster than normal.

“Thanks a lot
, Nathan.” I kissed him back.

“For what?” He shrugged.

“Just…” I smiled at him. I had no answer for his question. I was just thankful for him being there for me.

Chapter 3

Nathan

New York traffic looked busy as we came out of the airport. Getting a cab was painful, but
I was used to that. Being in New York was like a treat for me. After so long, I was coming back to my home.

“I’m still feeling sleepy
,” Eva complained when she hopped in to the cab.

“Oh
, babe, you slept for the whole journey already.” I kissed her cheek. Within five minutes of boarding the plane, Eva had been fast asleep. I even had to cover her with a blanket/ as she shivered a couple of times because of the chill. I always admired the look on her face when she slept like a baby; this journey wasn’t an exception.

Our
wedding occupied my mind on the return journey. My mind was still confused about the whole thing. I didn’t know how it would work out, especially after divorcing Samantha just a few weeks ago. It wasn’t like I compared Eva with Samantha; Eva was far better than Samantha. I just hadn’t thought about marrying her so soon. Heck, I hadn’t even thought about marrying her at all. I felt like I had married her on the first day of our relationship.
What the heck am I thinking? I’ve known her for months now.
Our relationship was stronger than ever and we loved each other, but still, marriage?
Why am I thinking about it again and again?

Finally
, when the journey came to an end, my head stopped hurting from all the emotions and thoughts about the wedding. It was all clichéd and I didn’t know how to handle my own damn life.

As usual
, I checked my mailbox and it was full, as expected. There were quite a few letters. I grabbed them all and unlocked my door with my wife following me. We inhaled the blast of stale air as soon we entered the house. Eva sneezed hard.

“We need to get the bad air out.”
I opened the windows to let air go out.

“I need to
freshen up first.” Eva ran towards the bathroom. Her firm ass looked cute when she ran fast. She ran that short distance perfectly; she was a runner, after all.

I put the letters on the dining table and opened a few. As
I guessed, one letter was from the boxing association. They had sent me a check for a few thousand dollars as a runner up. I couldn’t attend the final match with Peter as I was in Canada at the time.
This will sting for a while.
I wanted to fight that jerk and teach him a good lesson, but my love life was way important than my ego.

Obviously
, they had declared Peter as the winner and gave me second position. The money wasn’t as much as I had hoped. As expected, my eyes were set on defeating Peter and gaining the prize money of fifteen thousand dollars; instead, I got four thousand dollars.
This would be enough to cover some expenses, at least.
Thanks to Mason, my four months of mortgage payments were taken care of already.

The second letter
I opened was from the bank, a thank you letter for paying the mortgage. I already knew Mason had taken care of that. But a new payment date was mentioned on the letter.

Two more months and I have to pay them again,” I muttered. That was the exact time I had to get some work. Otherwise, the bank would foreclose on my property to get their loan amount back.
No, that can’t be good. I’m married now.
Something imaginary, but heavy, fell on my chest; it was the burden of my marriage. Eva was my responsibility, now.
Damn, this is the same situation I got into with my old marriage.

When
I was married to Samantha, this was the exact burden I had faced, though the situation was different. Her appetite for money and luxury was more than I had imagined. So I had to work hard and get more money to satisfy her needs. I did that for her, but then she slipped away from my hands like water. Sadness filled my heart. I didn’t miss her or anything, but my earlier marriage was a failure. I
can’t let the same thing happen this time. I’ve got to get out of this. Two more months would be enough to earn some real cash.
I smiled to myself. But still, those thoughts couldn’t lift the pressure on my chest. I never thought of Eva as a responsibility, but now being my wife, I felt the need to do what was necessary.

“You can’t even afford her shoes
with your current savings.” Martha’s words fell in my ears like a hammer.
Was she right about it? Am I capable of making it through?
“Hey, honey? Who are you talking to?” Eva came out of the bathroom; her hair was still wet. She came closer and shook her head fast so water was shooting over me.

Many droplets of water splashed on my face.
I instantly grabbed her and pulled her to me. She purposely fell down and kissed my lips. Her pink, soft lips tasted fresh and sweet after the bath. It just so happened that her bath towel fell down and her firm breasts collided with my body. I grabbed the curve of her lower back, feeling the touch of her bare skin, and pulled her closer to me.

She made some noises from the back of her throat. She tried to say something, but she couldn’t.
I kissed her for a few more moments and then released her lips.

Her breath deepened. “
Jeez , that was unexpected.” She giggled.

“You showering me in water was unexpected
, too.” I kissed her cheek. “What do you say? Another round of sex?” I winked.

“Unfortunately
, no, you can’t for four days.” She pushed me away.

“Damn.”
I showed her my false anger.

She giggled. “Good for me. I’m getting a break after so many days
in a row.” She wrapped the towel back around her. While picking up the towel, she stumbled on the bank letter. “What is this, Nathan?”

“Nothing important.”
I tried to take the letter from her hand.

“It’s a mortgage letter. You have to pay it in less than two months. The last time
I checked, you were in some financial trouble.” She touched on the subject, which I didn’t want to talk about.

“Yup, but don’t worry
. I got this one.”

“Are you sure
, baby?” She came forward and pushed her hand through my hair. She didn’t sound convinced.

“Yes, don’t worry. I’ll pay it on time.”

“You can talk to me if you feel like it.” She kissed my forehead.

“No worries
, babe. I’m good.” I tried to put some false hope in her. I wasn’t sure how much good I was.
I need to talk with Mason about this.

Chapter 4

Nathan

“I’m sorry, sir, but we don’t have any projects for you right now,” the receptionist replied. It was frustrating to get rejection after rejection since this morning.

“But you have
put an ad in the newspaper for a web developer.”

“I know, but that position is already filled up by a bright entrepreneur
, sitting there.” She pointed me towards the couch on her right side. A young man in his twenties was sitting there, playing with a color cube.

“But he isn’t even wearing a suit.”
I banged my right hand on the desk in ferocity, and the sound was loud.

“Please
, sir. Don’t make a scene or I’ll have to call security.” The receptionist frowned.

“Sorry,
I didn’t mean it. But at least give me an interview.”

“I’m sorry, but
I think you should leave now.”
