She grinned coyly. She toyed with her silky black hair, her fingers parting her lips only to slide back up her body to cup her breasts.

His vision hazed and he felt almost dizzy with need. “Fuck, Summer. Come here,” he said hoarsely.

She grinned, and her smile was blinding. “I’m going to take my time with you.”

He cursed and lunged up from the chair at her in a burst of speed that caught her off-guard. Hugging her tightly to him, he knew he’d startled her with the aggressive motion, but was helpless to control himself around her anymore. “Hell no, you’re not. Not the first time. I can’t wait.” He cupped her pussy and rubbed the moisture along her cleft. Sliding his fingers over her ripe clit, he eased one finger inside her, then another. “And you’re right there with me, Summer, aren’t you?” he rasped and began thrusting his fingers in and out of her.

“Drake, more,” she moaned and spread her thighs wide. Her hands gripped his shirt and deftly unbuttoned it. Sliding the cloth off his body, she ripped it down the middle, buttons flying everywhere. The contact of her palms against his chest made him growl, and he increased the speed of his fingers.

“Take it out,” he panted, needing to feel her around him, enveloping him within her honeyed core. “Feel my cock, touch me,” he pleaded, beyond reason.

“On one condition,” she gasped as he thrust his fingers deep. “That you make love to me, hard and long, and right now.”

“Done.”

She reached for his jeans and quickly undid the snap. With a slow, steady motion, she unzipped him and reached in, finding his warmth with ease.

“Ah, fuck.” His eyes rolled back into his head as her small hands wrapped around him, and it took every shred of his willpower not to come. “Summer, now.”

Shoving him away from her with surprising strength, she knocked him down into the chair he’d recently vacated, his cock like a pike and weeping with the need for relief. Kneeling down, she quickly removed the rest of his clothing, until he sat naked under her predatory gaze.

Odd, but her hungry stare made her eyes almost glow, shining with lust as she watched him.

“You have no idea how much I want you.” She licked her lips and crawled between his legs.

“No, Summer, I do.” He stared through slitted eyes. “And if you put your mouth on me now, I’ll come down your throat. No, baby, not this time.”

She shook off his hands and clutched his thighs, making him curse. “Yes, baby, this time.” Without pause she leaned over him and took him inside her mouth, all the way inside.

He groaned at the soul-deep pleasure, electric shocks spiking through his entire body. Want and need built as she sucked him deep, and he couldn’t believe how helpless he felt under her touch. He should have come from the extreme pleasure. Hell, she had him balls deep, but the warmth of her mouth both comforted as well as pleasured him like nothing he’d ever felt.

Time seemed to stand still as he clutched her soft hair, urging her for more as much as he wanted her to stop and sit over him. He moaned her name, praying for relief, hoping beyond hope this was real, that he wasn’t reliving the dream that had haunted him for months.

She slowly eased him out from between her lips and licked at his slit. “Oh yeah. That’s so good.” Nibbling at his shaft, licking at the base of his head, she had him so hard it was a wonder he could sit still. “Now it’s my turn.”

“Whatever you want, Summer,” he said thickly, burning to come inside her. Hell, the need for relief was killing him, a sweet pain that only made him that much more desperate to have her--Summer Amora Michaels, the only woman he’d been lusting after since he’d first laid eyes on her.

She joined him on the chair and straddled his waist. Rubbing her clit over his cock, she moaned and rocked over him, making his vision blur.

“Summer, quit playing,” he growled and reaching for her hips, shoved her hard over him.

They both groaned at the sensations spiraling out of control. Seating himself inside her was incredible. A sense of rightness, of oneness filled him as she began riding him, taking him deeper and harder with each jolt.

“Oh, Drake, oh Drake,” she moaned and plunged over him.

Wanting her to join him, feeling his climax fast approaching, he reached with one hand and found her clit. Full and hard, the small nub welcomed his touch as she ground against him.

“Fuck me, Summer. Harder.” He gritted his teeth and pinched her clit, knowing her end was near. Her walls tightened around him, and her already narrowed passage squeezed him into oblivion. Pleasure shot like a waterfall through his body, from his balls to his stomach, through every nerve ending he possessed.

“I’m coming,” he rasped as he spilled, unable to stem the flood gushing inside her. She cried out and squeezed harder, pulsing ripples shuddering her body into spasms of delight. Her orgasm enhanced his own, and the scent of Summer mixed with roses overwhelmed him with bliss. Shaking with ecstasy, his vision grayed, and he found heaven in the darkness.

* * * *

Summer leaned against him as she fought to catch her breath. Good God, but she’d never come so hard or felt so replete afterward. Drake Nichols had gifted her with an unbelievable orgasm, one that made her want to purr and snuggle into his large, warm frame.

She slowly lifted her head and looked down into his face. His eyes were closed. A soft smile graced his lips and his breathing was deep and even, peaceful. Smiling, she stroked his rough cheek, aware that even relaxed he exuded an air of danger that made him nearly irresistible.

Her smile faded as she realized how much tonight had meant to her. Not only had she violated her policy of not mixing business with pleasure, but she felt deepening affection for Drake, her boss, a man notorious for not particularly liking the women who worked for him. He was a stickler for the rules, and she’d all but jumped him tonight when he’d come to her home to discuss matters of work.

“Well, it’s not as if he didn’t enjoy it,” she argued with herself. But what if he hadn’t been able to control himself? What if her succubus nature--she felt stupid even thinking the word ‘succubus’--had made his decision for him? But no, he’d as good as admitted he had no problem with the Calling. She relaxed.

Still joined with him physically, she knew she needed a little distance to clear her mind. Since Drake, no way would she call him Lt. Nichols with him naked inside her, had accepted their connection, she should do the same. Instead of worrying where tomorrow would take her, she decided to let the future take care of itself. In the meantime, she intended to enjoy her new lover until neither of them could walk.

Lifting herself off of him, she gingerly walked to the shower. Enjoying the spray that relaxed her aching muscles, she closed her eyes and ran her hands over her hair. The night still seemed like a dream. She’d had sex with Drake Nichols, a man any woman with a pulse wanted for her own. A tall, dark, walking menace that turned her on more than any man she’d ever met.

After two years of self-imposed celibacy, she’d knocked the man on his ass and had her way with him. She groaned and bent her head, letting the water sluice over her neck and back. She might have started his seduction, but he had met her thrust for thrust. A hell of a lover, considerate and incredibly skilled.

She grinned, wondering how soon she could have him again. She felt as if she walked on a cloud, high with the rush of energy he’d given her. Already her body wanted him again, remembrances of how he felt inside of her making her throb with desire. The curtain rustled, and as if she’d called him, his hands caressed her, molding over her breasts as his large male body pressed against her back.

“Sorry I dozed back there. I’m an ass. I admit it,” he grumbled into her ear. Then he nipped at her lobe and sucked the sting away. “But I’m more than willing to make it up to you.”

“Mmm,” she agreed, the feel of his penis against her ass telling her how much he wanted her again.

Turning to face him, she couldn’t help staring into his eyes, wanting to see his desire as well as feel it.

“Summer,” he rasped and bent his head. His kiss shifted her pulse into overdrive. Gentle yet firm, he met her mouth with a tender possession that said more than words ever could. “Let me love you again. Right here, right now.”

He caught her “yes” with his mouth, stealing her breath with a mind-numbing kiss. Her skull buzzed with the energy she’d already absorbed from him, but somehow he continued to pour more of himself into her until she felt as if she and he had no boundaries.

She felt an ache where no flesh existed, a throbbing to sink deep into someone, and stared with shocked eyes into his knowing gaze. This, she felt, came not from her abilities, but from his. Lorie had been right, Drake was an empath, and a powerful one at that.

“Feel what you do to me,” he groaned, sliding against her, the water a wonderful lubricant that provided excess sensation, making her want to melt into him. “Oh, baby, yes.” He shoved a finger inside her, feeling her need, and grabbed her by the waist. “I’m glad you’re small, so we can do this the way I’ve imagined for so long.”

He lifted her and pushed her against the tiled wall, the water hitting their sides. She wrapped her legs around his waist, feeling him position his penis between her folds. Then he was surging inside, and she moaned at the sense of fulfillment he brought. He rasped her name as he began pounding, his arousal bruising in its strength. But the pure eroticism of their heated flesh, the water, and the sounds of lovemaking took her breath away. Energy scored through her, an almost visible aura of light pushing between them.

Every thrust, every touch and slap of flesh encouraged her to seek more from him. And he gave it without her saying a word. As tied to her as she was to him, he reached for the heights of bliss. Bending his head, he nuzzled her neck and rubbed his chest against her breasts, her sensitized nipples shooting streams of pleasure toward her womb. The rain, his body, his penis pushing and pulling, demanding she give over, finally pushed her past reason.

“Drake,” she cried and came around him, just as he stiffened and poured into her.

His corded arms were like steel, holding her against the shower wall with ease. The large tool between his legs pulsed as he came, his ecstasy entwined with hers until she knew he’d finally finished.

“Fuck, that’s good,” he groaned and leaned his forehead against hers. “Dammit, Summer. I can’t believe how incredible you feel.” He pushed deeper inside her and flexed, his penis still unbelievably hard.

“Drake?” she asked breathlessly, humming with energy. His eyes looked dazed, and she had a sudden thought perhaps she’d taken too much from him. Then he started moving again, and any thought of stopping faded.

Chapter Four

Summer stared anxiously at Drake as he slept off yet another hour in her bed. Ever since their marathon sex in the shower, he’d been dazed, then incredibly tired. She’d put him to bed after forcing some food and water down his throat. And that had been twelve hours ago.

At first she’d been worried, wondering if she should seek medical help. But he responded to her voice. He knew his name, knew where he was, who she was, he just wanted to sleep. So here it was, Saturday morning, and she couldn’t stop staring at him.

Oddly enough, just by touching him, she could sense what she’d done and what she needed to do. As if a sudden switch had been thrown, she knew how to handle this untapped part of her that had always been there.

The energy exchange between them had been so powerful because it was new, and yet the chemistry between Drake and her was nearly perfect. He complimented her body and her mind. And though she was loathe to admit it, he matched her in spirit, a perfect mate. She frowned, wondering where they went from here.

Helplessly, she admitted she wanted more than this one night. Lorie might be into casual sex, but Summer had never felt right about it. Last night had been insanity, but a heavenly one. And despite her worries about the future, Summer both liked and respected Drake. This spark hadn’t yet vanished. If anything, the heat between them had increased.

At least she didn’t have to worry about telling him the truth about her. He understood the Calling, even accepted it. But would she be greedy to ask for more? Drake Nichols was a cop, through and through. From what she’d seen, he was married to the job. And he’d never before dallied with one of his people that she knew. How could she imagine tempting him to try a life with her in it, as more than one of his detectives? She flushed, wondering how the hell she was going to look at him at work without everyone knowing what they’d done.

“Summer?” he murmured, drawing her attention. He rose slowly, his chest flexing as he fought to sit up amidst her many-pillowed bed.

“Drake?” She wiped his brow and smiled, loving the way he looked. So soft, so rumpled, so-

“Where the hell am I?”

--confused? She blinked at him, seeing the fog in his gaze clouding his comprehension. He slowly rose from the bed and put on the clothes she’d draped over a nearby chair. Like an automaton, he dressed, slowly but methodically. She wore a pair of jeans and a cotton t-shirt, casual Saturday--her favorite day of the week. He glanced at her while dressing but said little else.

Slowly walking back into the living room, he glanced around and nodded, as if confirming something to himself.

“Drake?”

He started and turned around to face her. “Michaels?”

She frowned. What happened to Summer? Or baby? “Lieutenant Nichols?” she responded, tit for tat.

“Sorry to disturb you, ah,” he fumbled looking around for a clock and narrowed his eyes, “on a … Saturday … morning. But I wanted to talk to you about the bust the other night.”

She stared, open-mouthed. What the hell was this all about?

“The other night?”

He nodded and rubbed the back of his neck. “It’s funny, but I don’t remem....” He cut himself off and scowled. “I came over here to ask you not to mention anything about that touch and spark we shared. I’m a touch telepath, something few in the department know. And I’d like to keep it that way.”
