About the Author

Dr. Kellyann Petrucci
earned her BA from Temple University, hosted her alma mater's Department of Public Health Intern Program, and mentored students entering the health field. She earned her MS degree from St. Joseph's University and her Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Logan College of Chiropractic/University Programs, where she served as the postgraduate chairperson. Dr. Kellyann did postgraduate coursework in Europe. She studied Naturopathic Medicine at the College of Naturopathic Medicine in London, and she is one of the few practitioners in the United States certified in biological medicine by the esteemed Dr. Thomas Rau of the Paracelsus Klinik Lustmuhle in Switzerland.

In Dr. Kellyann's many years of thriving nutritional based practice and consulting, she helped patients build the strongest healthiest body possible. She learned early on that looking and feeling amazing came down to learning simple principles and food values that made astonishing differences in people's lives. She realized that deep nutrition wasn't about fancy powders, ancient elixirs, or the latest creams; it was about reprogramming your body to get back to the basics and eat the way you were designed. She found the principles of living Paleo to be the key for people who want to lose weight, boost immunity, and fight aging. Dr. Kellyann has seen so much success from those eating Paleo that she feels a moral obligation to spread the message of eating real food.

Dr. Kellyann is the coauthor for the health and lifestyle books
Living Paleo For Dummies
and
Boosting Your Immunity For Dummies
(both from Wiley). She also created the successful kids' health and wellness program Superkids Wellness and the Paleo door-to-door home delivery food service Living Paleo Foods (

). You can find free nutritional videos, tips and recipes, and her latest news segments on her website, DrKellyann.com (

Dedication

Those who know me know I love to eat. This passion is second, though, to my love affair for sharing thoughts, ideas, memories, and laughs over a meal.

I dedicate this book to everyone I've ever shared a table with. Whether it was in finest restaurant in Paris or the local diner, that meal — that experience — will always be a part of my life's story.

I dedicate
Chapter 4
in particular to Melissa and Dallas Hartwig, New York Times best-selling authors of
It Starts With Food
(Victory Belt Publishing) and the popular website whole9life (
http://whole9life.com
). They're the messengers who inspired the 30-Day Reset. I'm immensely in awe of their nonstop commitment and undaunted passion to make the world a healthier place.

And to my beautiful boys, who had to endure my empty chair at the table more than once during my marathon year of writing. You are my “why,” and having you in my life is what generates every bit of my power.

Salute!

If anyone has ever given you a shot in life, you'll know why I have such deep gratitude for my agent, Bill Gladstone of Waterside Productions. He gave me my first big break purely from instinct, and I am forever thankful for his faith and intuition. To Margot Hutchinson of Waterside Productions, who was on my side pitching from the beginning and who is now more than my agent; she has become special in my life.

To my colleagues at Wiley, especially Senior Acquisitions Editor Tracy Boggier, who is one of those people who has a million things to do and a million fires going on around her and still gets it all done with grace. Thanks for always being so good to me. To my Project Editor, Elizabeth Rea, who is the most organized person I have ever met in my life. Thanks for lending your talents (once again) to help me build a beautiful book. Copy Editor Megan Knoll always adds awesome perspective and quality. And to my Technical Reviewer Amy Kubal, it was an honor to have your watchful eye. Amy is so well seasoned and has such deep knowledge in living Paleo, this book can't help but be spot on. Thanks for everything, Amy!
