With his plan still forming, he headed back the training center. He had to get Osias up to the bedroom before the two males woke and covered up what they had done.

* * * *

“Osias, I need you to come with me right now,”
Thanatos
said quietly so the other trainees did not hear him.

“I’m busy. It will have to wait. Did you find
Nikkos
and Adrian? Are they coming back to the training?”

“Yes, I found them, and they are not coming back down. That is why you need to come with me.”

“Are they okay? Is the female okay? Is she still here? What is the problem?”

“They are fine. I don’t know about the female or where she is, though. I did not see her.”

Osias was getting irritated by the kiss-ass in front of him. He was always doing something to make himself look good and other people look bad. “Just tell me what is going on,” he spat.

Daskalos
,
this you have to see with your own eyes. Please just trust me. You need to come upstairs right now.”

Osias did not like the sound of this. Something was going on and he was not going to like it. He motioned for Marcus to take over the target-shooting class he was currently teaching and followed Than up the stairs toward
Nikkos’s
room.

When they got outside the room,
Thanatos
told him to be quiet and started opening the door. Osias stopped him.

“You don’t just walk into the prince’s room without his permission.”

“I knocked earlier and did not get a response. I thought it my duty to see that the prince was safe, so I went in, and you would not believe what I found. This you must see. Please be quiet. We wouldn’t want to wake him.” With that, he pushed the door open just far enough for the two to enter.

As they got closer to the bed, Osias could tell that
Nikkos
was not alone, and he could also tell the person he was wrapped around was way too big to be the female they had brought home. He had a sinking feeling in his stomach that it was
Adrian
, and as he approached the side of the bed, his fears were realized. He put his hand to his face and shook his head just as
Thanatos
whispered, “You must do something,
daskalos
. You know this to be wrong whether he is the prince or not.”

So that was what
Thanatos
was up to. He knew he was next in line for the throne, but he never thought he would stoop this low.

Osias had known for a long time that there was more between
Nikkos
and Adrian than friendship, but he didn’t think that they would ever take it this far. By the smell of both male’s mating scent in the room, they had taken their relationship as far as it could go.

But wait. There was another scent here that wasn’t quite right. He got closer to the bed, where he could smell the white jasmine and cherry blossoms stronger. Osias was relieved. The little female was tucked in between the two males. Her head on
Adrian
’s shoulder, her hand under
Nikkos’s
where it lay across
Adrian
stomach. She was so well covered by the two males one had to get almost on top of the bed to see her.

Adrian spoke without opening his eyes. “If you are done intruding on the
Prigkipas
private quarters and through with your attempt at tarnishing his name, you can now leave this house, and do not return until invited to.”

He moved the arm that was under
Nikkos’s
head just a little and
Thanatos
saw the black blade in his hand. “If I have to ask a second time, you will need to be carried from the place.”

Osias grabbed a handful of
Thanatos’s
hair and started dragging him from the room. “We are sorry for interrupting your slumber,
Adrian
.”

Osias may have been the leader of the warriors and the oldest of their race, but no one was above being punished by
Adrian
when it came to
Nikkos’s
safety.
Nikkos
and Adrian had been best friends from birth. Osias knew Adrian was five days older than
Nikkos
, and he always reminded him of it. He had also explained to him once that since
Nikkos
was the prince of their entire race, it made
Adrian
believe he had to always protect
Nikkos
. It didn’t matter who you were, you didn’t mess with
Nikkos
without feeling
Adrian
’s wrath. It had gotten worse when both
Nikkos’s
and Adrian’s parents were killed eleven years ago.
Adrian
had moved into the mansion, and the two were literally inseparable.
Adrian
would give his life for
Nikkos
, and everyone knew it.

“Osias, you are always welcome, but please make sure I do not see the piece of shit next to you for a long time,” Adrian replied without even looking at them.

Osias shut the door as he yanked
Thanatos
face to face with him. “Leave this house and do not return. You have disgraced not only yourself, but me also with your stupidity.”

Thanatos
studied his feet and looked like wanted to argue but must have thought better of it “Yes,
daskalos
.

Osias replied, “And stop calling me your teacher. You are nothing to me until
Nikkos
and Adrian forgive you for what you have done.”

* * * *

After
Nikkos
heard the door shut, he opened his eyes and looked at
Adrian
’s beautiful face in the candlelight. The male looked so calm, most would think he was sleeping, but
Nikkos
knew from the first time he heard the door open that
Adrian
was well aware of everything that was going on.
Adrian
had always protected him, and he knew he always would.

Nikkos
had been tempted to move from the bed the first time he’d heard
Thanatos
knocking, but he knew that he was done hiding his feelings for Adrian from everyone, consequences be damned. He knew that it was going to be a long road ahead of them, with many people saying and doing things to separate them, but he also knew that they would make it work somehow.

He just stared at him until
Adrian
turned his head toward him and opened his dark eyes. There were no words that needed to be said—
Adrian
said it all with one look. He loved
Nikkos
, and no one would ever come between them again. Well, except the female that was right now sleeping soundly between the two males. Right where she belonged.

Adrian angled his head and kissed
Nikkos
on the forehead. “Sleep,” he said and closed his eyes. They were all finally right where they belonged.
Nikkos
couldn’t help but think of all the problems that they were going to have to face to stay together.
Thanatos
was not the only member of their race that thought men should not be together. There were quite a few that would react the same way and try to tear them apart.

Chapter Twelve

Thanatos
was headed downtown, where he was sure to find a least one
kynigos.
He knew that by doing what he was about to do it would be a death sentence if anyone were to find out. That was why he had waited a week before going out on his search. He knew if he had acted the night he was kicked out of the mansion, Osias would have suspected him immediately.

No one needed a male like
Nikkos
as the king of their race. How could he rule his people during the night and sleep with another male during the day? They all knew that it was wrong for two males to be together, and they still were sinning behind closed doors, thinking they were going to get away with it. Well, he had news for both of them. They would not get away with it for long. If it meant both of their deaths, so be it. He could justify his actions, and they were a disgrace to the entire race.

To take his place as the king, he only had to get rid of
Nikkos
but knew that
Adrian
would fight to the death for his friend, so he would kill two birds with one stone.

When he got to downtown, he went straight to The
DarkRoom
. A heavy-metal night club where someone could find anything from alcohol to sex and enough drugs to make one forget their own name. He could care less about all of that tonight. What he was looking for he would find lurking outside the club, waiting for one of his kind to make a mistake. Now the trick was to convince them that the information he had for them would be worth sparing his life. He knew if he could stall them long enough to give them the location of the prince, he would be free of his reign forever.

He walked past the front door, where many young males of his race were standing in line waiting to get inside. When he got to the alleyway, he didn’t need to look any further. Standing in the shadows, he saw three pale faces and the slight red glow of their eyes. Taking a deep breath, he approached them slowly, hands raised, showing them he had no weapons in his hands. They were not stupid, and neither was he. They all knew he was armed, but by showing his hands he hoped they would understand he didn’t want to fight.

“I have important information for you about how to locate our prince.”

The three of them looked at each other as if trying to decide if this was a trap. The one that seemed to be the leader spoke up. “Why would you give us information on your prince?”

“Because he has disgraced our people for the last time, and something needs to be done about him.”

“You look like a warrior. Why don’t you do something about him?”

“Unfortunately I cannot get access to him at this time, and he needs to be taken out soon.”

“How do we know this is not a trap?”

“You don’t, but I have no other way of getting rid of him except to tell you where he will be tomorrow night and hope that you are man enough to take care of him.”

“Okay, so where will he be tomorrow night?”

Thanatos
pointed to the club. “Here, he is always at this club on Saturday nights. You should be warned that he will have a bodyguard with him that will have to be taken care of at the same time, or you will fail and you will all be killed. The bodyguard is the strongest male of our race and will be very difficult to kill, but it is possible. They will probably have a little human female with them, and she is the key to killing both of them. They believe her to be their mate and will die for her as sure as they would die for each other. If you can hurt or kill the female, they will be so distressed that they will be easily defeated.” With everything said, he turned his back on the
kynigos
and walked out of the alley.

* * * *

Damian was standing in line at The
DarkRoom
with others from his class, waiting for his chance to get in and finally see the inside of the club. This was their first night out since they started their training, and he knew there was going to be trouble when he saw
Thanatos
. He hadn’t liked the other male from the first time he’d met him in training.
Thanatos
was a second-year trainee but seemed to spend most of his time trying to cause trouble for others.

Damian was right.
Thanatos
walked past the line directly into the alley and up to a trio of
kynigos
. Damian had seen them when they entered the alleyway and had sent a text message to Osias so that he could send a warrior or two out. Damian knew it was against the rules to approach them while in training, and they were only allowed to fight in self-defense and as a last resort. If they could get away from the fight, they were to get out and call for a warrior to come in and take down the
kynigos.
