“SHIT, MAN, WE’VE BEEN GOING
nonstop ever since we got home from touring. I am fucking beat,” I exasperate. We had a ton of publicity shoots today. One of them was going to Miramar Military Base. We put on a small concert for the families that live on base. It was awesome, and we had a blast doing it for them. After the concert we had a signing with the fans and a few interviews with the local news. Before that we were at the studio working on some new material.

Slim and I walk into our new home we bought together just recently, in Point Loma. One story house with three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a large den, full on max kitchen with all the stainless steel appliances, quartz counters, amazing living room, and an awesome backyard. We’re only four blocks from the beach, which pretty much sealed the deal for the two of us. At first we thought about not owning a home together, but since we’re on the road a lot, what is the use of two homes when no one is living there half the time? Plus we dig being roomies. I’m sure someday we’ll live separately, but for now it works. We have barely unpacked yet, but at least we have installed our big flat screen TV and mounted it on the wall and and got our video game system set up. We even have a new set of black leather recliners and a couch. Nothing like the smell of new leather.

I kick off my shoes, then lay on the couch, exhausted.

“I hear ya bro. Need a beer?” Slim asks.

I toss the beanie from my head, onto the floor and close my eyes. “That and a good lay,” I breathe out, crossing my arms over my chest. Before we walked into the house I texted Melody letting her know I was home. Seeing her today, after the shitty way she treated me the other day, got me riled up for her again. I was definitely not happy with her attitude, how she shut down and made me feel like an asshole. Yet, I’m not one to let things get to me for too long. Something is going on with her and I, for some odd reason, want to be the one to help her. I’m loving my attraction for her; my feelings run really deep, yet at the same time she drives me crazy.

“Speaking of. You serious about Harmony’s sister? Never thought you’d actually be tied by the dick to anyone.”

“Don’t know, Slim.” He taps me on the shoulder with my beer. “Thanks.” I take the beer and sit up. Slim settles himself onto one of the recliners and pops up the chair to rest his feet. I take a guzzle of my beer. “Don’t know what it is about her. She keeps me on my toes - a challenge. I like it. But then again, she frustrates me.”

“Part of the challenge, I guess?”

“Maybe,” I shrug. “Never saw myself falling for anyone this quickly so early in our career, though. I wanted to have years of fun before I thought about getting serious.”

“Seems to be working for Lucky and Faith. Now Danny and Harmony.” Lucky is our lead singer in the band. He and Faith have a huge history between the two of them. They were an item many years ago; she came from a wealthy family, a father who was a total douchebag. He owned a construction company, Montgomery Construction. It just so happened that Lucky worked there. Faith’s dad hated Lucky dating his daughter and tore those two up by blackmailing Lucky, offering to give him one million dollars to leave Faith and the state of Arizona. Lucky came from a drug addicted mom, he felt trapped. His mom later died of an overdose, years after. Faith’s dad was going to expose Lucky’s life to the media if he didn’t take the money. He wanted to destroy his career. Unfortunately Lucky pretended he took the money, but really he just ran with Danny, his best friend to San Diego and never spent a cent. A few years passed, Lucky and Faith met up again through June - BT2090. Turns out June and Faith are best friends, so with everyone being all six degrees of separation and shit, there was no getting away from reuniting the two of them. Things worked out between them, they’re practically engaged. We’re just waiting…that will happen next.

“Yeah. I’m happy for them, I am, but…am I just crazy to be looking into this with Melody so soon?”

“How do you feel about her?”

I’m in love with her.
“I told her I wanted her to be my forever. That tell you enough?”

“Damn, you’re whipped,” Slim howls. “My bro is growing up!” He then laughs.

I throw a couch pillow at him. “Fuck you.”

He laughs again. “Seriously, it’s a fucking trip to see you like this.”

“It’s a fucking trip to be acting like a pussy,” I complain. “Not sure how long I can keep up with her change of moods though.” I hate talking about Melody like this. Even though her moods change faster than I can say “fuck me,” she means something to me. Even if I wanted to, I don’t think I could give her up so easily.

“Is she a headcase?”

“Nah,” I take another swig of my beer. “She seems more scared than psycho. She’s a tough chick, but won’t let her shield come down when we’re together. She makes me crazy - frustrated,” I swipe a hand down my face. I am so tired.

“Don’t know what to say, man. Just don’t get too caught up in the drama. Have fun, have sex, be merry.”

I lightly laugh. “Definitely enjoying the sex, asshole. She and I are a lot alike. We both love the control when it comes to sex. She is a Goddess in bed, a fucking Queen.” I lean my head against a couch pillow. “I’d bend on my hands and knees any day to get her to go to bed with me.”

“The master has found his servant.”

“Might be the other way around,” I mutter. I change the subject. “Get off your damn phone and turn on the TV.” Slim and his fucking networking. He keeps the band in the media by posting on Twitter, Facebook, Google+, anything to keep us out there for anyone to see what we’re doing.

He finally puts his phone aside and clicks on the TV. I think I fell asleep shortly thereafter. A knock on the door startles me awake. Slim beats me to the door before I get the chance to get my ass off the couch. It’s Melody.

“Melody right?”

“That’s right. And you must be Slim?” Just the sound of her voice awakens my dick. I jump off the couch and walk my way over to her. Holy crap, she looks incredibly beautiful. She has on a pair of black leggings with an oversized, off the shoulder pink sweater. I can tell she isn’t wearing anything underneath, her big nipples are a bit hard.
That’s not the only thing that is hard.
Her hair is laying straight and over her shoulders; it’s fucking shiny and sexy as hell. The dark green in her eyes pop from the blackness of her hair. I love the way she looks.

“That I am. Nice to meet you.”

They shake hands. “Likewise.” Her eyes immediately meet mine and the heat between us is definitely noticeable.

Slim knows I’m behind him and can sense my desperation. “Your master awaits.”

“Fuck off, shithead,” I chuckle.

“Gonna go to bed. See ya around, Melody.”

“Night,” she responds back.

“Hey, Sweetness,” I don’t give her a chance to speak or react when I lightly yank her into my arms and crash my lips onto hers. I just can’t help myself when I am around her. “Come sit down with me.” I take her by the hand and lead her over to the couch. I click off the TV, then bring Melody close to my side and drape my arm across her shoulders.

Her eyes gaze around the living room. “Really beautiful house you have.”

“Thanks. Just moved in this week.” Having such a hectic schedule we managed to get a few hours of freedom to move. June helped us out as well by getting a moving company to load and unload our shit. She did the same for Danny when he moved. June is just plain badass. She’s done a lot for us this past year. “You like football?” I notice she has her eye on a signed picture of a Charger player my dad gave me for my birthday one year.

“Yeah, totally. My dad and I were big fans and used to dress up in our jersey’s every season.” Her eyes light up when she mentions her dad. Harmony told me their parents died in a car accident when Harmony was just ten and Melody was away, living in LA.

I totally love a woman who loves the same sport as me. I’ll never have to worry about having the sound turned up loud while watching a game. I am usually obsessed during football season. “Way cool. What team?”

“We traveled all over the place growing up so we never had just one favorite team. But I’ve become a fan of the Chargers, Seahawks. What about you?”

“Chargers, Baby,” I wink. “Though, they are thinking of moving to LA. I’ll be a fan no matter what.”

“Same here.”

I’m really enjoying talking with her. I want to know so much more about her, I want her to know more about me too. “Used to play football in high school. Thought I was gonna make it a career, but music became more important. Slim and I quit the game our senior year.” I sense her discomfort. She’s ready to get down to business. Not that I have a problem with sex. Sex with Melody is insanely pleasing. I’ll never turn her down, yet there is so much more to her I want to discover, other than her body.

She turns her body into mine and drapes her left leg over my own. “Alright, Sexy, enough talking,” she seductively tells me. Her fingers slowly start to unbutton my black shirt. “Show me your room.” She then kisses the bottom part of my throat.

I swallow and close my eyes. “Kinda like talking. Wanna get to know you better,” I say as I slip my hand underneath her sweater, caressing her smooth back.

My shirt is now wide open. “Maybe I’ll tell you more about myself
after
we have our fun.” She continues to kiss down the exposed parts of my chest. Her lips are so sensual, so soft and her tongue is blazing against my skin. Feels so good.

“You don’t make it easy, Babe,” I struggle to say. She makes me crazy, I ache for her.

“Never said I would.” She is now straddling me and puts her hands on my face. Her lips are almost touching mine. “You want me or not?” She arches a brow.

Hell yes I want her. So bad, my balls are turning blue. I grab her ass and growl out, “You know I want you.”

“Then show me how much.”

And just like that Melody puts her spell on me. I’m a goner. Indefinitely. I pick her up and keep her legs wrapped around my waist as I lead us into my room. Our mouths are entangled and our bodies are on fire for one another. My room is dark, so I turn on the switch, then lay her flat on my bed and do what my body is itching to do to her. I relish every last place on her stunning curves and fuck her senseless. She does the same for me and completely blows my mind. Having sex with this woman never ceases to amaze me. We have such chemistry and know exactly what the other wants and needs. God, I am fucking possessed by our connection, it’s utterly unreal.

We lay breathless and sweaty; her head is on my chest. I’m sure she can hear my heart beating out of control, and it’s not just because we had phenomenal sex. How she makes me feel speeds up my entire system.

I’m looking up at the ceiling wondering how I’ll make it another day without telling her my exact feelings. I know it’s way too soon, I don’t want to scare her off again.

“Sorry about the other day. I was such a bitch.” She snaps me out of my thoughts.

I never expected her to apologize. Feels pretty good, though. “Don’t worry about it. It’s over.”

Her head pops up from my chest. “How can you get over it so quickly?”

“Life is too short and beautiful. Gotta live in the now, Baby.” That’s how I have always been. I was brought up in a family where we lived each day like it was our last, and was taught not to dwell on things that are impossible to fix.

“You’re right about one thing. Life
is
too short. My parents were killed when I was twenty.” She lays her head back down and rubs my stomach.

I feel really bad for Melody. She lost her parents at the same time and then having to raise her sister. I’m sure it brought on a lot of stress and was extremely hard for her. I can’t imagine what she must have gone through. “Really sorry about your parents.” I lightly play with her hair. “That’s why you gotta live in the now.” She lifts herself up, then leans into me and devours my mouth. I must have touched a tender spot she needed tending to. I want to give her that all the time. I yawn after we kiss. It’s close to midnight. “Tired, Sweetness. Time for me to get some shut eye.”

“I’ll let you sleep, then. See you later.” She starts to leave the bed.

Wait, what
?
I grasp onto her waist before she disappears from my bed. I’m not ready for her to leave. “No. I want you to stay the rest of the night.”

“That’s not a good idea, Wayne.”

“Why? Afraid of falling in love with me?” I wink.

“Stop,” sounding upset.

“Give me a reason, then.” I force her to straddle her naked self over my dick and to look at me while I hold her face in my hands. “I want you here, in my bed, in my arms. Give me one reason why you don’t want the same?”

It takes her a couple seconds to think about it. She finally shrugs and says, “I don’t know why.”

That’s what I thought.
“Then get yourself back over by my side.” She doesn’t make up anymore excuses. She nods her head and climbs inside the bed with me. I wrap us up in the blankets and curl my front against her back. Love having us naked together, it’s awesome. I kiss the back of her left shoulder and breathe her scent in. “Love to feel your body close to mine. You always smell so good and your skin is always silky.”
