Huh.  I felt
like some kind of woodland princess.  We sat in silence for some time.  I could
see something going on down below us, kind of a silent deliberation among some
of the larger wolves.  Finally, the large gray/brown wolf appeared again.  He
repeated the bowing process as he had that morning.  Then he changed into human
form and bowed to me.

He was a
beautiful man, average height with broad muscular shoulders and a narrow
waist.  His wavy brown hair just brushed his shoulders and his face was
handsome and good natured.  I gasped as I realized that he was the man from the
mall.  No wonder he’d been so quick to catch on to what had been happening
there.  He must have smelled Christian’s wolf.  I blushed as I noted that being
well endowed seemed to be a werewolf trait.  Eyes above chest level.
Eyes
above chest level.
He smiled at me softly before addressing Christian
again.

“Sir, I’ve been
chosen to pay tribute.”  He graced me with a warm smile.  “May I show you
around the glade?”

I raised my
eyebrows in surprise.  Surely the second or third in command had better things
to do than keep me company.  He appeared to be listening intently to whatever
Christian was saying to him.  Finally, he nodded.

He turned and
addressed me directly now.  “Christian says that you are bound to him only for
the actual night of the full moon.  Will you choose to come and walk with me?”

I wrinkled my
brow, turning to Christian in confusion.  I was really missing something here.
What had he meant about a tribute?  Christian’s voice caressed my thoughts.
He
is asking for your company.  He has won the honor of serving you. The man is
known to me and he asks my permission out of respect.  It will help if the
other wolves see you with him.  I only ask that you spend this evening with me.
The rest of the time is yours to do what you will.  I wish for you to immerse
yourself in our culture
.  There was a pause in his thoughts.  I could
almost hear him thinking.  Then,
it is something of an honor to me, and to
you.  He wishes to serve you…to please you.

I blushed
furiously.
What the hell?
The man was still kneeling before me,
looking at me expectantly.  I could feel his power radiating off him in soft,
warm waves.  It was unlike Christian’s overwhelming aura, and I thought that he
must be much younger and less powerful.  I wondered that he held such an
important position in the pack.

I glanced at
Christian again, uncertain, and he nudged me gently with his massive shoulder.
Turning back to the man, I held out a shaky hand.  He took it and kissed my
fingertips formally, a strange gesture coming from a stark naked man kneeling
in the grass.

“My name is
Alexander,” he said softly.  “Please, ask me for anything.”  Standing, he
pulled me to my feet.

 “I’m Mya,” I
said awkwardly, though apparently he knew all about me.  Still holding my hand,
he turned away toward the glade, drawing me after him.  I looked back at
Christian once more, and he stood and loped off into the woods to hunt.

Alexander led me
to his blanket where he grabbed a pair of cargo shorts, probably just for my
sake.  Most of the wolves seemed to be comfortable naked when they weren’t in
wolf form.  His blanket was on the far side of the clearing, near a small
stream, and the sunshine and the sound of the water were delicious.  I glanced
around the glade.  The gathering was larger than I had first thought.  We weren’t
right out in the center, but we weren’t exactly hidden either.  He saw my
glance and spoke softly.  “This is your first moon ceremony?”

I nodded and he
smiled.  “Don’t be nervous.  Just enjoy yourself.”

I smiled back.
“I’m trying, but it’s all so new.  I don’t know much about the pack… not to
mention the, um… freedom you all have.”  I tore my eyes away from the next
blanket over. Wow.

“I know the
feeling,” he said softly.  I glanced at him questioningly and he shrugged.  “I
wasn’t born a wolf, like most are.  I was turned.”  I thought that, like Lucy,
he seemed very proud of that fact.

I lifted an
eyebrow, taking that in.  Lucy had said this was rare. Most humans died during
the transformation.  This man must be incredibly strong.  Lucy had said there were
more turned wolves in this pack than usual.  I vowed to ask Christian about it
next time I saw him.

“By the way,” I
said awkwardly.  “Thanks for helping me at the mall.”

 He smiled.
“You didn’t know about us then?”

I shook my
head.  “I had just found out about the vampires, but I didn’t believe it was
real.  Not at first.  That’s why I was there...um, looking for them.”

He looked
curious.  “We wondered about that, Ivan and I,” he said, obviously referring to
the dark haired man that had been with him that day, the pack’s second in
command.

“You smelled
like the alpha,” he said perplexed.  “But you didn’t seem to realize that we
were wolves.”

I nodded,
embarrassed. “Yeah, I  didn’t know yet, but his wolf was watching over me.”  I
had a sudden thought.  “Is Ivan here too?  Will you tell him thank you for me?”

Alex smirked,
laughing at a private joke.  “You haven’t met him yet?”  At my head shake he
grinned.  “Don’t worry, he’ll come see you at some point, I’m sure.”  I didn’t
get it, but I let it go, looking around the glade self-consciously.

“You should be
at ease,” he said lightly.  “Just take the day as it is and don’t think about
it too much.  You have a rare opportunity to do away with some of the absurd
boundaries humans live by.”

He paused for a
moment before continuing.  “You are a valued commodity around here, you know,”
he said with a mischievous glint in his chocolate brown eyes.  “Wolves will be
begging for your company as soon as they see you.  They will all want to keep
the alpha’s new mate happy.  I’m so happy to have won the honor to please you.”

I looked at him
in question and he reached out and gently took my hand.  I hadn’t been around
many wolves, other than Christian, but I got the feeling that with them, touch
was a sign of acceptance.  Lucy had held my hand too.

He headed toward
the far side of the glade, pulling me along, and I fell into step.  “Is the
gathering always in this same spot?”

He nodded.  “Not
all the time, but mostly.”

Alexander led me
around the clearing, introducing me to people we met and pointing out things of
interest.  I understood what Christian had meant now.  Having Alex with me
helped the other wolves accept me.  It wasn’t just their alpha forcing a human
on them.  Alex had a really warm personality and seemed to ooze charisma.  I
got the feeling that the pack loved him.  And if he accepted me, then they
would too.

We left the far
side of the glade, where we had spent some time chatting about wolf customs
with an older wolf and his wife.  “Thank you,” I said softly.

He glanced down
at me and smiled, “They would accept you anyway.  Christian is just being
paranoid.”  I rolled my eyes.  As if Christian was ever the least bit anxious
about anything.

“Come,” he said,
giving my hand a squeeze.  “I’ve been ignoring your needs.”  I was puzzled, but
I let him lead me back to his blanket.

He knelt beside
me on the soft fur.  “I am so blessed to be able to serve you.  There were so
many who wanted the honor.”  I looked at him in question and he reached out,
gently caressing my arm from the shoulder to my hand.

I had noticed
that human women were slightly different from Were women, physically speaking.  All
the females I had seen so far, whether tall or short, fair skinned or dark,  were
generally slender and square and lacking in curves, with small breasts and
narrow hips.  I assumed it had something to do with the shape shifting ability
and all of the exercise they got.  They had to be lean and strong.  I, on the
other hand, was voluptuous to a fault, with large breasts and an exaggerated
hourglass shape.  Judging from the heat in Alexander’s gaze as it traveled over
my body, curvy was good.

I closed my eyes
as he moved closer, sliding his warm hands over my sides until they rested on
my wide hips.  He drew me closer and I wrapped my arms shyly around his neck.  “May
I?”  His hand slipped under my camisole.

I bit my lip,
then finally nodded my assent.  He skimmed his hands over my sides as he took
off the shirt.  Then he bent his head to my breasts.  He was gentle, stroking
and caressing almost hesitantly.  He looked up at me, his hot gaze sending a
jolt through me.  “Tell me what you like, if I’m too gentle or too
aggressive.”  He dropped a kiss on my breast.  “You own me.”

I sighed as he
suckled harder, and tangled my hands in his hair.  It was strange, and
arousing.  This was what he had meant by serving me.  It was an honor to be
allowed to pleasure the alpha’s mate.  His large cock was rock hard against my
thigh as he leaned in to claim my mouth.  His gentle hands eased my shorts off,
and he moved lower.

I trailed my
hands over his back, feeling the smooth, flat planes of his body.  His eyes
began to glow and he bent to me, his tongue stroking my clit slowly and
rhythmically.  Ripples of pleasure flooded my body as physical need mingled
with the warm glow of his aura.  “Tell me,” he whispered against the sensitive
skin of my thigh.  “Command me.”

I arched my
back, wanting completion.  “More,” I whispered.

He returned his
attentions to me, intuitively following my urging, until I quivered on the
brink of release.  “Oh, God, please,” I panted.  His power crested around me,
and I convulsed against him in a warm rush.

He moved upward,
dropping worshipful kisses across my stomach and breasts.  “Do you want me
inside you?”  I felt him, hard and pulsating with need, holding himself just
shy of completion.  I wrapped my legs around his hips in invitation and he bit
my neck lightly as he slowly sheathed himself.

I gasped and
moaned as he began to move inside me, stroking slow and deep, holding himself
in check while he gave me pleasure.  He supported himself on one elbow,
caressing my breast with the other hand as he plunged into me again and again.  I
felt myself nearing climax once more and I arched my back, taking him deeper
inside as I urged him to abandon his gentle demeanor.  “Harder,” I whispered.
“Faster.  Don’t stop.”  His pace quickened and he kissed me deeply as we came
together, bodies shaking in release.

He planted a
soft kiss on my throat as he withdrew from me and propped himself up on an
elbow at my side.  I stretched languorously and opened my eyes to see him
smiling down at me  with a little bit of awe.  I tucked my elbows under me,
propping myself up as I reclined on my back in the sunshine.  “You are so
powerful,” he whispered.  Then he chuckled.  “Now I see.  This is why you are
his.”  He lifted my hand and kissed my fingertips.  “Thank you for this honor.
It was amazing to be able to give you pleasure.”

I was beginning
to feel awkward again, sitting alone with the stranger that I’d just had sex
with while he thanked me for the honor.  Honestly.  Wow.  “Well” I said,
blushing “what do we do now?”

He sat up.  “If
you would like, we could go for a swim?”  I nodded consent and he stood, leading
me down to the river where several wolves were splashing about.  Two naked
women were rolling on the bank laughing as they watched a male in wolf form
trying to catch fish with his mouth.  I smiled myself, clapping when he plunged
his head under the water yet again, this time emerging with a good-sized fish
firmly trapped in his mouth.

We continued
upstream a bit before Alexander dove into the water.  After some hesitation and
a whole lot of blushing, I followed suit, hoping there weren’t any snakes.  I
paddled out to him and flipped over to float on my back, bobbing along gently.
Seeing him aping my actions, I turned and splashed him, laughing as he
spluttered and went under briefly before regaining his composure.

We splashed
around in the water for some time before flopping onto the grassy bank.  As we
made our way back toward the glade a little while later, we were approached by
two men and a slender blond woman.  They waved jovially as they joined us and I
saw Alexander’s gaze wander interestedly over the woman’s body.  He touched my
fingers briefly to his lips before turning and disappearing into the woods with
her a few moments later.  I marveled again at their carefree attitude.

I smiled at the
sharp contrast between this and what I had known.  It was liberating to be so
completely at ease.  My new companions introduced themselves as we walked
along.  The burly, redheaded one was Claude and the slender blonde was Daniel.
They vied for my favor playfully and I laughed at their antics, but I sent them
both away disappointed.  I was getting more comfortable with this life, but not
that
comfortable.  Besides, I had the sneaking suspicion that if I made
love to one of them, a line would start to form.  I felt like some sort of sex
god.

I headed back toward
my own blanket, seeking Christian’s company.  On the way, I passed an
attractive redhead.  She stuck her foot out, the corner of her mouth lifting
when I nearly tripped, stepping high at the last possible moment.
