Recovering himself, Miln used brute strength to flip
her off him and pinned her with his body. “I am Miln Se’a, Head of
Security for Earth Base One. I mean you no harm.”
A frantic expression flashed over the woman’s face.
“Your words make no sense, and your armor is strange. Are you a
god?”
He started to answer, but the female took him by
surprise, kicking her hips and legs upward and rolling him off her.
Before he could move, she’d leaped to her feet, unsheathed a sword,
and pressed its tip against the base of his throat.
“Be you demon or god, one wrong move will see you
impaled on my blade.”
Unable to believe his eyes, he stared up at her.
Frantically, he searched his memory of all the history he’d learned
while in transit to Earth. An…Amazon! A plan began forming in his
mind. This female was as big and as tall as he, her body strong and
curvy. If he survived this ordeal, he knew Volund and Jaxxon would
be very intrigued by his idea.
If there were many of these warrior women, they would
prove more than suitable mates for the Azutuan men. He grinned, his
mind racing.
“I have been sent here to find strong female mates,
but you are too weak and small for my men,” he finally said in her
tongue, baiting her. “Perhaps your village has better females than
you. I will demand your elders offer their best women to me. I will
consider them sacrifices of goodwill and leave the rest of your
clan in peace.”
He watched as many emotions passed through her
beautiful eyes—uncertainty, worry for those in her clan, anger that
he’d insulted her. Inch by inch she moved away until she no longer
stood over him, sword still drawn.
He slowly got to his feet and crouched on the ground
as if he’d pounce on her at any second.
With amazing speed, the Amazon whirled and ducked
into the undergrowth.
Miln smiled again, wider this time. The chase was
on.
