Kit loved to listen to him talk, and she had to admit Rogue was right. He was a helluva lot more than a pretty face, her man was sharp as a tack. Pride filled her heart. When his conversation wound down, and he started making notes, she just sat back and watched him work. Her mind kept returning to the mare she’d lost. The sheriff hadn’t made any headway and the man Rogue had sent out to check sale barns and question folk had come back empty handed.

The helpful clerk brought them something to eat, a hamburger from a nearby fast food joint. Kit didn’t know if it was because she thought Rogue was good-looking or if she was grateful for any inside info she might have acquired. Either way, Kit added her thank you to Rogue’s.

After another half hour or so, he had what he needed. “Let’s get out to the field before it gets dark. I want to get a feel for the terrain, see if there are any signs on top of the ground for what might be under it.”

Kit helped him return the files and thank the clerk again. Rogue offered to pay for their food, but she refused. “I had some coupons, so it was nothing.” When he tipped his hat in gratitude. “Hope we’ll be seeing more of you.” This time she gave Rogue a wink.

As they walked off, Kit whispered. “I can’t believe she said that, I was standing right there.” Her guy was such a babe magnet, she wondered if she’d ever get over the attention he received.

Slipping an arm around her shoulders, Rogue pulled her close. “That woman wasn’t flirting, she was plotting. She’s probably worked in that office long enough to know exactly what I was doing. Plus, she probably looked my name up on the computer. Right now, she’s studying her savings to see how much she can invest when the time comes.”

“Maybe it was a little of both, you didn’t see her checking out your ass when you walked out the door. I did.” Oh well, Kit didn’t let it bother her.

In a few minutes they were on the road again, heading to the rugged terrain that might be hiding a wealth beneath its surface. “We’ll go out to the section near Greeley, that way we won’t have to crawl under fences. There’s some open territory there that will be easier to check.” The roads they drove over were sometimes rough and Kit had to hold on to the dash to keep from bouncing around. At least the nausea had passed.

Once they arrived, they parked, exited the vehicle and Rogue held her hand as they began to walk deeper into the rugged, boulder covered foothills. Kit observed her husband closely as he studied his surroundings. He bent down and picked up a handful of dirt, testing its texture. She said nothing, just let him process what he was finding. He rose and they walked farther, so he could study the layers of soil in an exposed crevice, then he led her to a pool of standing water, where he dipped his hand in and sniffed the liquid in his palm.

Finally, she could stand it no longer. Nestling up against him, she asked. “So? What do you think?”

Immediately when his wife pressed her sexy form to his, Rogue’s own body responded. “Well, I use a combination of factors. Sometimes there is evidence in soil and water of what’s below the ground. But mostly, it’s just a feeling. I get tingles when I walk over oil, sort of like a dowser.” Giving her a kiss, he frowned. “However, my beautiful wife might be throwing me off. I am known for getting erections when I walk over a big pool of oil. But now, I don’t know if my hard-on is for you or for a billion dollars’ worth of crude under my feet.”

“I want you to find oil, don’t get me wrong.” She rubbed her nose against his. “But I’d rather the erection was for me.”

“I tell you what, give me a few more minutes, then we’ll leave. When we get to the house, I’ll make a few phone calls, and then I’m yours for the rest of the night.”

“Perfect.” Kit held his arm and they moved on. “I want you to be mine for more than a night though.”

“How about a lifetime?” he asked, as he carefully led her over a particularly rough patch in the ground.

Not hesitating a moment, she answered. “I’ll take it.”

“In here? It’s all glass?” Kit followed Rogue into the enclosed garden.

“We’ll dim the lights. There’s no one around, but even if there was, they won’t be able to see anything.”

They might not be able to see anything, but she could. The moon was nearly full and reflected off the snow outside, creating a vista she would never forget. Rogue had made no secret that he had something special in store for her. He didn’t realize, and she was hesitant to tell him–men’s egos and everything–that he really didn’t have to do anything but breathe to make her melt into a puddle of desire. “Okay, I trust you.” She didn’t see a bed, but he’d been busy making a nest for them on the floor with mountains of soft pillows and thick comforters. “This looks comfortable.”

“Yes, and just right for what I have in mind.” Rogue began to undress and Kit couldn’t look away. As the material was pushed aside, perfectly sculpted muscles were revealed. Her fingers itched to touch him.

“We’re going to have sex?” Her statement was both obvious and hopeful.

“Not right away, I’ve been doing some research on meditation and I discovered something new, something taught by a group right here in Colorado.”

“Meditation?” Kit couldn’t keep the disappointment out of her voice if she tried.

Rogue threw back his head and roared with laughter. “Not regular meditation, it’s called orgasmic meditation and consists of…well, let me show you.”

When he was undressed–and already big and hard, whichKit couldn’t help but notic

he helped her slip off her sheer gown. “Even though its warm in here, the snow outside gives me a slight chill.”

“I noticed.” He reached out to caress her hardened nipples. “Don’t worry, I’ll warm you up fast.” Drawing her to him, he covered her mouth with his, swallowing any further worries she might have. His blood rate hiked when he felt her distended nipples graze his chest. As he ate at her mouth, his whole body jerked as though a lightning bolt had shocked him. This never got old. Every sappy romantic description ever penned about a kiss was true. If he hadn’t known for sure he was standing on solid ground, he would’ve said the earth was shifting beneath his feet.

Because he was powerless to do anything else, Rogue deepened the kiss. Her sweet lips were like a powerful magnet that he couldn’t escape. Kissing Kit was like sipping sunshine.

With a breathy sigh, Kit parted her lips and kissed him back. This small act of submission just fueled his desire. Rogue consumed her. She was the dearest thing in the world to him. He wished he could record the sexy sounds she made, but he didn’t want to embarrass her. Licking the inside of her mouth, he mapped every inch. She was so sweet, so soft–and his. The attraction between them was complete, he wouldn’t have traded places with the most powerful or richest man in the world. There was no greater treasure than what he held in his arms.

When they were both out of breath, but ultra-aware of one another, he bade her to lie down. “Just relax and get ready to be amazed.

Kit couldn’t help but laugh. “Are you going to do magic tricks?”

“I hope you’ll think so.” He joined her, but not horizontally. “Raise your legs and bend your knees with your feet flat on the ground.” He put one leg over her waist and the other underneath her bent knees. “Now spread your legs for me.”

When she did, Kit realized how vulnerable and open she was. “You can see everything.”

“And it’s beautiful.” He assured her, his tone brooking no argument. Reaching to one side, he found a jar of ointment. “Now, let me tell you what’s about to happen, love.”

Kit didn’t know, but she quivered at the possibilities. “I’m waiting with bated breath.”

Shaking his head, Rogue laughed. “I love you, you know. I love your body, I love the way you make me feel…but most of all I just love to be with you. You’re so much fun.”

Kit’s heart warmed. “That was the sweetest compliment, thank you.” She was about to tell him she loved him also, but he began to talk and what he said stole her words.

“Clitoral stimulation is what this is called.” When her eyes widened and her thighs quivered, Rogue knew he had her attention. “For the next fifteen minutes, I’m going to lightly massage your clit and I want you to close your eyes, be still and just feel.”

Instantly–instantly she was wet. “What about you? Don’t you want me to 69 you or something?”

“As tempting as that sounds, no. I’ve been planning this and I want you to get the whole effect. Right now, I’m not the focus, I’m not the important one–you are.”

Kit clutched the blanket beneath her, holding on to keep from grabbing the man above her and pulling him down on top of her. “This is going to be…hard.”

“We’ll have something in common,” he teased. “Now, here goes baby–enjoy.”

With reverent concentration, Rogue massaged her legs, both calves, both thighs until she was thoroughly relaxed. Then he opened the jar and took out a small dollop. Using just his first two fingers, he began to rub her clitoris, light delicate strokes–over and over–round and around–never letting up, sometimes varying the pressure, sometimes slower, sometimes faster–but in a few minutes, she was panting. “Oh, oh, oh,” she chanted.

Rogue thought this was the sexiest thing he’d ever seen. Her eyes were closed, her mouth formed a perfect little O and her body was flushed with a rosy glow. Those luscious tits of hers were swelled and quivering as her body jerked in tiny spasmodic convulsions.

She was enjoying this.

For fifteen minutes, he never wavered, he never stopped–even when she would cum–and cum she did, several times. He just kept on. Watching her have pleasure was better than him having an orgasm any damn day.

Kit was boneless, she was satiated, yet she was so hungry for this man that she could die. When the time was up, she moved into his arms. “That was the most generous thing I could ever imagine.”

“I’m glad you enjoyed it.” He kissed her temple.

“Oh, I did and now…” Kit turned in his arms, her hands on his shoulders, pushing him down into the soft pile of pillows. “Now, it’s my turn.”

Rogue smiled. “What are you going to do?”

“I told you earlier, I’ve just been biding my time.” At his quizzical look, she giggled, straddling him. “Get ready, Walker. I’m jumping your bones.”

The next day before flight time, Rogue worked and Kit prowled the shops. Boulder was an amazing city. She hadn’t realized how beautiful it would be. In fact, she was going to suggest to Rogue that they return to Colorado for an extended honeymoon when they had the time. She stopped for hot chocolate and picked up a present for him to go under the tree when Christmas arrived. It was a hand carved box that would hold a couple of decks of cards and some chips. While she’d never really approved of gambling, having gotten a bad taste in her mouth with it because of Dave, Rogue was a master and was respected in those circles. She’d only recently learned he’d held the title of World Champion of Poker more than once. Wanting to know more about him, she’d studied up on card playing. And what she’d learned was that it was really more than a game, it was a test of skill. Without a sharp mind, amazing instincts and a strong will–all the luck in the world meant nothing.

When she returned, Rogue was ready to leave. “I’ve had an interesting conversation with the groundskeeper. Maybe we need to come back in the spring, they have something called Frozen Dead Guy Days.”

“What in the world?” She asked as he followed her to the room so she could gather her things.

“Well, apparently it’s a celebration of this guy named Bredo Morstoel. He passed away in Norway, but his grandson brought him to America where he was cryogenically prepped and frozen. The family hoped to give him a chance at immortality. “Tyrgve, the grandson, packed him in dry ice and shipped Bredo to Nederland, a little town nearby, where he and his mother stored him in a garden shed. Trygve became well known, building a veritable fortress in the mountains and touting the benefits of bathing in ice water. He founded the Boulder Polar Bear Club.”

Kit kept waiting for the punch line, but she could see that Rogue was enjoying telling the tale, so she patiently listened as they made their way to the rental car.

“Unfortunately, Tyrgve’s visa expired and he was deported, leaving his mother here in Colorado with her frozen father. Further bad luck hit the family when the mother was evicted because the almost impenetrable dwelling Trygve constructed had neither electricity nor plumbing. She made a case to the local paper, that evicting her would threaten the body in the garden shed, causing it to thaw.”

“What did she do, go out and dump ice on him every few hours?” As she buckled herself in, Kit was trying to imagine this scenario.

Rogue chuckled. “Don’t ask too many questions, I’m only repeating what I was told. I strongly suspect the man’s icy interment wasn’t handled properly to start with. Anyway, the reporter went to the Town Hall, and they freaked over the idea of the frozen dead body being kept so close to the community.”

“I don’t really blame them,” Kit shivered, giving one last lingering look at the beautiful house they’d enjoyed for such a short time.

“A lot of people felt that way, the mayor, council members and police all arrived at the shed with lights flashing. In twenty-four hours, the news had gone viral and drew international attention. Reporters from all over the world arrived to cover the story. There was an emergency town meeting to figure out what to do. No one could find an ordinance of a law against it, so they passed one. Unfortunately, or fortunately, depending on your view–Grandpa Morstoel was grandfathered in. He could stay. Tyrgve’s mother was deported and the town was left with their iceman. Most people wanted to just bury him, but half a world away Tyrgve kept the fight alive on the internet. After he’d contacted other cryogenics groups and found an amazing amount of supporters, the Nederland town fathers gave up the fight. In the spirit of ‘if you can’t beat them, join them’, they made a celebration of Grandpa Morstoel and threw a festival in his honor to raise money for his upkeep. The festival became a tradition and now people come from all over the world to attend ‘Frozen Dead Guy Days’. The groundskeeper said that if we return in March, we can take part in such games like a ‘grandpa lookalike contest, the polar plunge game, even coffin races. Sound good?”
