Her brother-in-law, Prime Leader RendEL, had wanted Kat and her mate, Prime Medic SydEL to include the naming ceremony in the End of Year Celebration. Ren felt it was important to show how successful the mating with the females from Earth proved to be. However, both Syd and Kat wanted it to be more of a small family and friend thing. After discussing it with their whole family, Syd and Kat made a small concession.

The naming ceremony would remain small and exclusive, family only. At the End of Year Celebration, Syd and Kat and their baby would have a very brief introduction, mostly for photo opportunities.

She had almost everything for the smaller ceremony ready. It was funny how Syd suddenly became very involved in the planning. At first she would ask him what he thought and he would just tell her to do what she thought was best. Typical man response. Then as she showed him things, he began giving his opinion more and more. She could almost sit back and let him do it all. She was tempted for sure. But it was something they needed to do together for their daughter.

So now the day had finally come. They were holding the ceremony in their suite on the balcony overlooking the Waters of Katiera. The twin suns of Katiera were just starting to set making everything glow golden and beautiful.

SydEL was holding their daughter and Kat stood next to him. She looked around at the group of people who had come to mean the most to her. Her own parents didn’t come to see her off when she left Earth, but family surrounded her now.

Both of Syd’s brothers were there. RendEL, KydEL, and their mates, Cassie and Jaxon, who were Kat’s best friends. Syd’s mother and her mate, Leo, with Leo's young daughter, Lisa. Syd’s uncle, ConEL, with his mate, Lucy, and ConEL's young son, TorEL, and Syd’s cousin, AriELa, and her mate, TarAK. Syd’s young nieces, IsabELa and GabriEla, were there, being watched over by a tall strong Katieran male named RocKO. Then there was Medic JadEN, who Syd agreed to invite reluctantly.

One of the Katieran priestesses, RyENa, was there to officiate the ceremony. She wore long silky robes and a filmy material covered her head but was see thru. “Are we ready?” she asked. Kat and Syd nodded.

The priestess motioned for the small crowd to silence. “We are here today to celebrate the naming of the first mixed species young.” She motioned for Syd and Kat to step forward. “State your name and your relation to the young.”

“I am Prime Medic SydEL, her father,” Syd spoke with pride.

“I am Prima Medic Katrina, her mother.” Kat fought back her tears.

“What is the name you have chosen for your young?” the priestess asked.

Syd spoke, “ArabELa.”

The priestess reached for the young and Syd passed her gently into her hands. She held the baby up for everyone to see. “From this day forward you are known as Prima ArabELa. You are the light and the hope of all our people. May the Goddess KatieRI bless you, little one.” Applause erupted throughout the crowd. The priestess handed the baby back to Syd.

Syd smiled with joy as he looked at his young. He glanced down at his mate and laughed at her tears. “This is a time for rejoicing. You should be happy, not crying.”

“I am happy. I have you and we have ArabELa. What more could I want?” Kat stood on her tiptoes and gave him a quick kiss.

People came up and kissed or held little ArabELa. There was a lot of socializing even though they were family and close friends and saw each other quite often. Kat was holding her daughter when JadEN came up to her.

“You have a beautiful young. Congratulations.” JadEN smiled as he looked at the young then up into her mother’s beautiful eyes. He felt a constricting feeling near his heart. The thought that this could have been his mate, could have been his young, haunted him. He had to clear his mind of those thoughts. They were pointless now. They had their chance, but it wasn’t meant to be. She was a true bond mate for the Prime Medic. Knowing that did not relieve the pain he felt inside.

“Thank you, JadEN. I appreciate you coming.” Kat gave him a warm smile.

“I was surprised to be invited,” he admitted.

“Well, you should be here. You will always be my friend.” Kat reached out and gently touched his arm.

All of a sudden the air around Kat thickened and she could feel the heat of her mate directly behind her. She glanced over her shoulder at Syd. “I was thanking JadEN for coming.”

Syd nodded at the other male. They didn’t say anything to each other. Kat frowned. When would Syd get over this jealousy? They were happily married with a child for goodness sakes.

“I am needed in the Medic Wing. Again, congratulations. You have a beautiful family.” With that, JadEN made his way out of the suite.

Syd took his mate into his arms and kissed the top of her head. “I still do not like you being around him.”

“He’s my friend and colleague. That’s all. You are the man I love. You and ArabELa are my whole life,” Kat reassured him. He nodded that he understood and let her go so she could mingle with everyone else.

The small celebration lasted a couple of hours. People started to trail off. Kat appreciated everyone that came but she was actually glad when they all left her and Syd alone. Syd was laying ArabELa down in her crib. She decided this would be the best time to take a quick shower.

The water coming down was hot and steamy. It felt so good. Her hair was now a few inches below her shoulder blades. She probably needed to get it cut again. She hesitated because Syd seemed to like wrapping her strands around his hand.

Cold air whooshed in as the door to the shower stall opened. She looked over her shoulder to see a very naked Syd standing there. He was so beautiful with his golden skin and dark hair. He reached for her, pulling her back against his chest.

“It went well I think,” he told her, nibbling her earlobe.

She shivered. Her body instantly reacted to his touch. Her nipples hardened and her arms had goose bumps all over. When his large hand reached around and cupped her heavy breast, she felt it all the way to her womb.

“You bring it out of me. When I get a whiff of your scent I cannot help myself. I want to hide you away and get you naked.” Syd gently dried her off.

“I like that I can still make you feel that way.” She took her turn to dry his body. He was perfect. There wasn’t an ounce of fat on his body. Whatever he might have gained seemed to turn to instant muscle. There were more defined lines on him. She couldn’t resist leaning forward to lick those tempting lines.

“Kat,” he moaned. His cock sprang back to life immediately.

Chapter Four

Over the next few days there were arrivals coming from Kiljor and the Colonial planet. Prima SandELa and her Earth mate, Leo Carreli, stood on the landing with Leo’s youngest daughter, Lisa. They were awaiting the arrival of Leo’s oldest daughter, Lindsey, who was now mated to the Kiljorn Prime Leader KadEN.

“Why am I so nervous?” Leo asked as he paced back and forth.

SandELa smiled as she rubbed her gently swollen stomach. She was pregnant for a fourth time and it had been a shock to everyone. “I do not know but you have made a new path on the ground from all the pacing.”

“It hasn’t been that long since you visited Lindsey on Kiljor. RendEL and KydEL have assured me their transport reached the Katieran Solar System without any problems,” she reassured him.

He walked over to his wife…mate and took her into his arms. “I’m sorry. I know your sons would ensure Lindsey’s safety. I just hate that we live planets apart.”

“Do you want to move to Kiljor?” SandELa asked. She didn’t want to leave her home or her children. She had three grandchildren here and another on the way. She wanted to stay but Leo was her true bond mate and she had to support him. She could live anywhere as long as they were together.

“No. Our life is here. This is our home just as Kiljor is Lindsey’s home.” He kissed her soft lips.

He pulled back to look into her beautiful blue eyes with the strange gold irises. How did he get to be so lucky? His first wife left him with their two daughters. She had left a letter stating that she didn’t want to be tied down with a family. It had been hard on him raising the girls alone, but he managed to do an okay job of it. Lindsey and Lisa were wonderful, strong, smart, and beautiful. He still had Lisa to raise but no father could be more proud.

He thought his life was set, his death from the cancer growing in him eminent. However, when Lindsey brought him and Lisa to Katiera, all their lives turned around in the most surprising way. The Katierans’ medical technology helped cure him of his cancer. His daughter, Lindsey, met and fell in love with the Kiljorn Leader. And Leo met and fell in love for the first time in his life with SandELa, a beautiful Katieran Prima. Now they were expecting a child together and life couldn't get any better.

“She’s here!” Lisa yelled out, jumping up and down in excitement as the Kiljorn shuttle hovered and then landed.

Leo held his mate’s hand as they watched the shuttle door open. An extremely tall man with a bald head came out first scouting the area for any danger. Then Leo watched as his son-in-law came out slowly holding his arm around Leo’s daughter, Lindsey. She seemed even more beautiful to him than before. Love and happiness shined through her face. It eased Leo’s nerves seeing how happy and content his daughter was.

The moment Lindsey’s eyes connected with her father’s, a smile split across her face. She tried to run to him but KadEN stopped her.

“Walk, honey. You’re father isn’t going anywhere,” KadEN’s deep voice rumbled.

She laughed as her little sister launched herself into Lindsey’s arms. She laughed and hugged her hard. “Whoa there, midget. You are almost too big for me to catch like this.”

“I missed you so much!” Lisa kept her arms wrapped around Lindsey’s waist.

“I missed you too, honey.” Lindsey kissed her sister’s head. Hard to believe her sister was growing up. It was just yesterday it seemed as if her parents had brought her home from the hospital. Lisa was such a tiny, little baby, barely weighing five pounds. Lindsey had immediately took up the mother role since their own mother was absent most of the time. It was quite an adjustment living on a totally separate planet now.

“Do I not get a hug from my new sister?” KadEN asked, making his strong firm lips pucker and pout.

Lisa giggled and launched herself into his waiting arms next. “I love having a brother. Well, technically I have four new brothers in all if you count Ren, Kyd, and Syd.”
