The bra separated and she let it slip down her arms to the floor. Her erect nipples begged for his mouth, his hands. She moved around him again, gliding her hand over his sensitive skin. He wallowed in her touch and the picture of her bare ass with just that strip of black material parting it and curving around her hips.

She stopped in front of him, her arms around his neck, her lips on his jaw. Her pebbled nipples prodded his chest and Blake fought back the urge to release the knot and take her in his arms.

“You won’t move from this spot, right?” she breathed into his ear.

“God, no,” he promised. He wouldn’t jeopardize these minutes with her for anything.

Abbey brought his head down and the lip-lock was pure fire, intense need. The instant hot connection of their tongues set Blake on a ride straight to heaven. Feeling her bare chest along his made him itch for more. Her hands stayed busy doing something else and it took him a second to realize she’d rid herself of the thong. She stepped back and the loss of her lips had him groaning his frustration. The sound of something tearing took his attention from her mouth to her hands.

A condom?

“Where the hell were you hiding that? And what are you doing?” But even as he asked, she tossed the wrapper aside and began rolling the condom over his erection. He clenched his jaw at the pressure of her hand, at the warmth of her palm on his flesh. They only needed a condom if they had intercourse and that’s not what this was about. “Abbey,” he ground out, a definite warning in his tone.

“Hush,” she whispered then set her hands around his neck and brought him close for a mind-altering kiss. A few seconds later, she wrapped her arms around his neck, then hopped up and hooked her legs around his waist. Blake’s mind went blank as he took her weight and steadied himself before all sorts of warning lights went off his head.

He smelled her heat as she kissed him deeper. Every muscle strained to be closer to her, a part of her. Inside her. She shifted and her heat slid along every inch of his throbbing dick. Blake moaned at the rub, at the feel of her silky skin against his. She kept it up and with each stroke she made a little sound of pure need that ramped up his desire.

They were both breathing hard, both sweating. The hot open-mouth kisses spread over her jaw, along his neck. They couldn’t get enough of each other. Abbey tasted like the chocolate kisses Julie kept on the kitchen counter.

But when she rose up and tried to ease down on his straining erection, Blake froze, his heart pounding in his head like a fucking drum and those warning lights flashed brighter. “Abbey, don’t.” Jesus, he was too much for her like this. He needed time to get her ready, time to ease the way. But she didn’t listen to him. She just sank a little bit farther down. Blake’s eyes stung with heat and moisture. “Abbey, God, please. Don’t do it this way,” he begged. He’d promised her he wouldn’t move and he didn’t want to go back on it.

“How does it feel?” she asked.

“Jesus, Abbey.” Like heaven only better. She was so tight, so wet. She was everything he wanted, needed and hoped for. “Please, let’s do this together. Let’s find a bed, let’s do it right.” She only had the very tip of his head inside and the pressure was killing him. So good and not nearly enough. Blake dug his head in the crook of her neck. “Let me out and we’ll do it right.”

“I have to do this now while I’m ready,” she whispered. “Psyched up ready,” she clarified. She pushed a little farther down and a catch sounded in her throat.

Blake’s chest felt tight, like couldn’t-breathe tight. Or maybe that was because his heart was in his throat. “Ab.” He was about to cry like a fucking baby. “I wanted you to touch me and get comfortable, but if you’re serious about doing this here and now, let me go.”

She set her mouth on his and her kiss was pure sweet seduction. She worked herself on him, up and down, just the first couple of inches. “It’s not so bad,” she said before her mouth slanted across his. But the second she tried to go deeper, she made that little sound of pain and Blake thought he’d go out of his mind. He’d never felt anything as good as the tight sheath of her body. Never wanted to plunge into anything as sweet as the hot clasp of heat between her legs. She tried working herself on him again, taking it slowly, but it wasn’t getting her anywhere.

“Tell me I can hold you,” he pleaded. “Tell me I can let go or fucking untie me. You have to do it. You have to trust me.”

She shook her head, made that little gasp again. “I have to do this. Doesn’t it feel good for you?” she asked.

“It’s not me I’m worried about. It doesn’t feel good for you. It’s going to hurt unless we do this right.” He wanted to hold her so bad he shook with it. She had to untie him because he promised her he wouldn’t. Abbey reached up and Blake felt the tension of the knot before it loosened around his wrists. Then he had Abbey in his arms, her head buried in his neck, her arms tightly around his shoulders. Gently, he eased her off him as he carried her across the room. “I am so mad at you,” he said softly in her ear.

Chapter Twenty-One

Abbey held tight as Blake broke their connection while he carried her to the thick cushy floor mat on the edge of the room and laid her down. Still rock hard against her thigh, he spread soft kisses along her jaw and her cheek. His fingers stroked through her hair, but he didn’t try to push inside her.

“I’m so mad at you,” he said again. But his lips kept grazing across hers so softly and sweetly. “Why, why are you so damn stubborn? Forget it. I don’t want to know.” He looked into her eyes, solemn and serious. “I need to touch you, Ab. With my hand, okay?” He looked so worried and she didn’t want that.

She nodded because he wouldn’t hurt her. She knew that bone deep, despite the mix of fear and curiosity that swirled together in her head.

His lips came down on hers again as his hand eased over her thigh, his thumb teasing her bikini line before landing on that button that was so sensitive. Abbey gasped and moaned, the contact sharp and sweet. This was nothing like the pain she felt at trying to take all of him.

Blake spread the moisture between her legs, until he slipped a finger inside of her. Abbey sucked in a rush of air. “You okay?” he asked between kisses.

“Yes. God, yes. Very okay.”

He moved his finger in and out, slow and steady until he added another one Her body adjusted to the pressure, to the invasion. Through it all he kept kissing her. He kept her wanting more, wanting him. Wanting that same release he gave her the other night. Their tongues played a game of chase, back and forth, her mouth, then his mouth.

“Do it,” she said breathlessly, many long minutes later when they came up for air and he had her on the edge.

“Patience,” he murmured as he settled himself over her. He took a nibble from her neck and she gasped again. She felt his hard length against her thigh, the heat of him at her entrance, then the pressure of him as he pushed in. He only got so far before the same intense pain seared its way up her middle.

“Breathe,” he whispered. “Just breathe.” His thumb returned to stroke her clit and all of sudden she didn’t care what else he did. He hit her sensitive spot with unerring precision. He circled and circled and she arched up into his touch, forcing him in a fraction farther. He pressed harder on her clit and the swell got bigger, took Abbey over the edge in a blissful free-fall, her inner walls throbbing in sweet release.

Blake pushed inside her, his heat and hardness like hot iron. The pleasure and pain had Abbey gasping for air, holding Blake tightly against her as she processed the sensation of full penetration. As her orgasm faded, she concentrated on Blake’s strong arms wrapped around her tightly. On the steady beat of his heart against her chest, the way his lips cruised over her ear, her neck and her jaw. The pain between her legs slowly ebbed as Blake continued kissing her. Her tense muscles eased as her body stretched to accommodate his width.

“You okay?” He stroked his thumb across her temple as she nodded. “I wasn’t kidding when I said I love you. I don’t ever want to see you hurt or in pain.” His lips brushed hers softly, sweetly as he slowly pulled out of her and just as slowly moved back in. She inhaled as he filled her. The long, slow glide kissed internal nerves she didn’t know existed. Every part of her focused on their connection. “You’re not running from me anymore, Ab. I’m done with that.” He withdrew and pushed in again and this time he moved over the tight bud of her clit. An immediate shock of pleasure arced through her.

“I swear to God, I’m going to make this so good, you’re not going to think about anyone but me for the rest of time. You’re not going to look at anybody or want anybody. Just me.” His rhythm stayed slow and even and every time he made that slide in, he had her gasping for air.

“I already don’t want anybody else,” she told him. Why would she?

He froze and stared down at her. “What did you just say?”

“You heard me.” She brushed her thumb along his jaw. “Do you think I’d let just anyone in? Did you think I’d do this without realizing what it meant to both of us?” A mixture of joy and hope clashed in his eyes and made her smile. “No one’s ever cared enough to figure me out. No one’s ever had the patience. You’re this amazing man. You’re confident and caring. Strong and patient.” She shifted beneath him, took him a little deeper. “And you’re so beautiful.” His lopsided grin melted her. “Don’t get me wrong, I’m still a wreck, okay. I’m still the same girl with the same issues, but I’m getting better. Getting stronger. Because of you.”

“I love you.” He followed the whispered words with a slow kiss and deep penetration.

Abbey’s heart filled with emotion. With deep, gratifying waves of appreciation, satisfaction and most of all love. “I love you too.”

The sound of Blake’s moan vibrated from his chest as he pushed into her. Over and over he stroked inside and arrowed pleasure everywhere he touched. Where she’d hurt just a few minutes before, now she craved. She felt the same familiar build up, the climb to something breathless and wondrous.

“I could be inside you forever, Ab,” he whispered roughly. “I can’t get enough. I’ll never get enough.” His words just stoked her further, sent her faster to the peak. She lifted her hips to meet him, begged for more of his power, his strength as she clasped her legs around his waist and held on.

Blake moved over her with single-minded determination. His mouth took hers with a possessiveness that seared her, marked her as his. And she wanted that more than anything. With her head cupped in his hand, his tongue deep in her mouth and her body taking all of him, Abbey had never felt more wanted, more needed, more loved.

“Oh God,” she panted. He had her there again. Right on the edge, hovering on that cliff before the fall—or the rise—or whatever it was when she tipped over the edge into oblivion. “Blake,” she moaned his name, wanted him to take the plunge with her.

“You’re so beautiful, Ab,” he whispered in her ear. He circled and plunged deep again. Between the friction and his words she tumbled over.

She bit his shoulder to keep from screaming and his harsh groan rumbled from his chest into hers as he came. The power of his orgasm throbbed inside her and she held on as he rode it out.

Breathing hard, Blake collapsed on top of her, careful to keep his weight on his elbows. Slowly he pulled out and Abbey breathed with the loss. After dropping next to her, a rogue smile flashed across his mouth. “You doing okay?” he asked. He reached behind him and grabbed the towel he’d used earlier to wipe her thigh.

Her own grin faded and her heart pumped harder when she saw the red streaks on the towel. Blood. She yanked the towel from his hand, sat up and covered herself before he could get a closer look.

“It’s okay. I think that’s probably normal,” he said, sitting up next to her. “Give me a sec to clean up and toss this,” he said hopping to his feet and disappearing into the bathroom.

He was right. It was probably normal. Just embarrassing as hell. “Sounds like you’ve never done this before,” she said as he returned. God, he was gorgeous, so sculpted. And still so hard. She nearly lost her train of thought. “I mean…have sex with a…” There it was. The V-word.

Shaking his head, he watched her carefully as he sat across from her. “No, I never have.” He grinned again. “I’m feeling a little honored.” That made her laugh and his smile widened. He was so beautiful when he flashed those straight white teeth. But his grin faded and fresh concern clouded his eyes. “How do you feel?” He gestured with a nod of his head toward her nether region.

“I’m good. Great. Maybe a little sore.” A lot sore, but she didn’t want to freak him out. “And very…” What was the word she wanted? “Very…”

He waited, watching her carefully. “Happy? Satisfied? Either of those things?”

“Both of those,” she told him quietly. Her legs felt like noodles and her female parts all tingled. Little aftershocks still buzzed through her body. But there was something else too. Something more elemental. “I feel very loved.”

His smile dropped completely as he moved to her, his lips taking hers in a gentle kiss that turned deep and soulful. “I do love you.” He stroked her cheek with his thumb as he stared into her eyes. “I’ve loved you from day one in that freaking elevator. I just knew then. You were it for me. My dad told me that’s how it was when he first met my mom. He just knew.”

She stroked her finger along his jaw, envious that he could sit and talk to her without a stitch of clothing on, like it was the most natural thing in the world. “How old were they?” She never imagined falling for a guy. She’d have bet money she was going to die an old virgin.
