Deran quickly turned back to hide behind the wooden wall, heart hammering. When no Mawany got up to search for him, he dared another glance. The two men had not changed position. The one on top closed his eyes as he rocked back and forth to finally grunt with satisfaction. The room was filled with moans as well as heavy sweat and other smells Deran could not decipher. He got the impression that something profound was going on, but he was too young to understand the deeper meaning.

He did not even know if he should be disgusted or amused by the two naked men having fun their way.

The Mawanies purred and chattered, waved their hands and turned to each other before they stood up one by one to leave the room. Servants rushed in to mop the floor and carry away empty or broken tankards and heaps of scattered crumbs.

“You were good,” the man on top said and wiped sweat off his forehead. He settled back, and Kianto stretched out on the canvas divan bed that stood on high legs. “Really, really good.” He reached for a towel to dry his face and body.

“Yes, we were the afternoon attraction,” Kianto answered. “Almost a harvest celebration party.” He stood up to stretch, grimacing. “Will it go on like that? Evenings and nights with nothing but your cock having fun?”

Deran heard disappointment and boredom and crept a little closer. The other man lifted his brows, astonished.

“What else should there be? And isn’t it wonderful to spend time like this? I can do that every day. Well, I would if they wanted me to.”

Kianto cleaned himself up, sighing.

“Yes, maybe. Last night, when I left for home, a guard accompanied me. I didn’t like that.”

“You signed a contract with the Mawanies. That means you have to stay for at least two harvests.” And when Kianto looked surprised, the other man snorted. “You didn’t know? Well, they just want to be sure you fulfill your contract. And that you get back safely. Why did you leave, anyway?”

“To visit my family.” Kianto put down the towel and a young girl came to take the towels. Her eyes were wide and shy and when he thanked her, she looked shyer still.

“The Mawanies are your family right now. And we, all of the servants.”

Kianto made no reply. Deran watched the other man frown and twitched when he grabbed Kianto’s shoulder.

“Hey, listen, youngster, you’re the star of the show right now. They admire you. They want to see us perform. That’s why you’re here. So don’t ruin it because of some sentimental feelings. Keep them stored until your contract’s fulfilled. Do you hear me?”

“And if I don’t want that?”

“You’ll disappear like Hanjek,” Deran blurted in spite of his decision to stay undetected. Both men turned his way, one surprised, and the other angry.

“Who are you?”

“He’s just a boy, Donego,” Kianto said calmly. “He followed me when I applied for the job. Well, tell us, Deran, why did you come here today? Still curious?”

Deran climbed into the room. The feeling of boldness left him like sunshine fled rain when he saw that neither Donego nor Kianto approved his appearance.

“I was worried for you.” He lifted his chin. “Maybe you should be worried, too. The Mawanies might not be as nice as they seem. Hanjek’s gone and our teacher hasn’t come back yet.”

“Listen, you rascal,” Donego replied with an angry step toward Deran, “you better stumble back to your mother’s womb and learn some courtesy before you come accusing Mawanies. They’re some mighty people.”

Deran stepped back, frightened. Donego was tall and strong with muscles in places Deran had not yet developed on his body. His dark brown hair was a worrisome mass and the face beneath it looked as if shaped from a hard rock. His eyes had the color of slate with the same cold.

“Leave him be,” Kianto said in a quiet, soothing voice. “He doesn’t know better.”

“He can still cause trouble.” Donego grabbed Deran by the shoulder that the boy shrieked. “I say, we better take him to the guards to throw him out.”

“Wait. Calm down.” Kianto put a hand over Donego’s. “He’ll find his way out alone. Without anyone knowing. Right, Deran?” He increased his grip on the other man’s wrist when Donego did not let go. Deran squirmed under the pressure.

“I go home,” he said meekly and hoped that none of his friends would ask where he got the bruise.

“See? Donego, please, there is always a peaceful solution.”

Donego opened his fingers and Deran fled back to the small balcony, rubbing the spot.

“He’s a troublemaker. A dirty bastard who’ll never cherish the Mawany and their government.”

“He’ll learn.”

Deran understood Kianto’s urgent gaze and climbed down nimbly, heart racing as if he had escaped a large and ferocious beast.

Sariti came to him like a shy animal that feared to be cast out. Kianto cocked his head, smiling amiably. She made sure they were alone and, after dropping her skirt and sash, stepped into the shallow pool where Kianto took his bath.

“You seemed distracted today,” Kianto whispered when she stretched and sighed with delight. “Has anything been amiss?”

“You were marvelous as ever,” she replied with eyes closed. Her long hair floated behind her. She relaxed in the warm water where only her small, firm breasts surfaced. The nipples stood out prominently and Kianto could not help but kiss them.

At once, Sariti sat up straight and checked if they were still alone.

“Don’t do that in here.”

“Why are you afraid?” His kept his voice soft and warm, meant to seduce. He felt drawn to Sariti, though they had had their share of lovemaking just an hour ago. “They want us to mate, don’t they?”

“Not here. Not like this where they can’t watch us.” Sariti’s brown eyes were big and wonderful to look at.

Kianto felt the urge to hug and kiss her and take her just for the delight of both of them.

“They always want to watch? Why didn’t you kiss me then? It’s about as intimate as an act of love can be.”

Sariti sighed. Her fingers played in Kianto’s thick hair and traced his cheeks.

“It is our duty to perform for them. Like other servants clean up or mop the floor. We are not allowed to do each other without them.”

“And kissing?”

“Donego always says they don’t want to see us kiss and—”

Kianto kissed her tenderly. Her lips were soft and wet and when she did not stop him, the kiss became fierce and full of longing. His cock rose to the occasion and before both had time for a coherent thought, they were linked as lovers, still kissing, still hardly breathing. Sloshing the water around, Kianto rolled to let her have the upper hand.

She laughed.

“You’re crazy, Kianto! You crazy fool!” She kissed his forehead and nose and then his lips again. Her tongue probed his mouth, arousing him more and more. He put a wet strand of hair behind her ear, scrutinizing her face as if for a portrait. “Play with me. Do what you want and what you haven’t done before.”

“Well, that’s easy,” Kianto replied between kisses. “Since they had me tethered most of the time.”

Action followed words and when they both reached their climax, they had forgotten about Mawanies, Donego’s caution and the light and lofty architecture that carried sounds much better than servants carried plates. Sariti was the first to see a long shadow looming over them. She shrieked and in a reflex clung to Kianto’s broad shoulders. He pushed a strand of wet hair out of his face, ready to get up and meet a challenge should it come. But the large shadow belonged to Na Ris Nei and he did not move to attack Kianto. He did not even make a sound. His huge eyes stared clear and unreadable, his stance indicated he had watched them for some time and when he turned to leave, he did not look back.

“Oh, by the greatness of the harvest goddess, this was eerie.”

Kianto gently stroked Sariti’s head before he stood to look after Na Ris Nei. The alien was gone and no guard came instead.

“Do you think they will throw us out?”

Kianto drew breath and helped Sariti find a towel.

“They might. If we broke their rules, what will they do?”

Sariti hung her head.

“I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have come.”

“I’m not sorry.” He held her in his arms, smiling down at her warmly. “I wanted to kiss you all the time. And if they throw us out, I’ll happily do it wherever you want me to.”

Kianto could not shed the feeling of uneasiness wherever he went in the palace. He expected guards to catch and clap him in chains to drag him before the house owner. He saw shadows that would jump him when he turned a corner. And yet, no Mawany lacked courtesy and he was taken to perform another mating ritual with Dianiki two days later.

The audience was small, from what he saw. Then Donego put a blindfold across his eyes and he strained his ears to follow the happenings in the room. Dianiki’s hands were there and then gone and he could no longer hear Donego’s heavy breathing. He had been told to wait for the woman to make the advance even if he was not bound to a frame. High on expectation, he had no trouble following the rules. He was young enough to go with every game his employer wanted to be played so he did not struggle when his wrists and ankles were enclosed by heavy wooden chains. Still full of expectation, he adjusted his butt on the divan bed, smiling.

“What’s this about? Sariti? Is that you?”

The only answer was a soft, musical sound and a touch by cool hands. Kianto inhaled sharply. He could not hear any other person in the room and even the noise from the servants was gone. The room was utterly still, a sharp contrast to his fast beating heart.

“Won Ta Ki?”

A gag was pressed against his lips. He turned his head sideways.

“No! Don’t do that!”

“Be calm,” Won Ta Ki said with a heavy accent. “Accept it.”

He fought on until something hard and sharp cut across his thigh. When he cried out, the gag slipped between his lips and was fastened.

“You have to behave,” she went on, her fingers playing lightly across his heaving chest. “Or there will be no reward for you.”

Kianto struggled in the chains, but realized that he had been outwitted by an alien. Obviously she had made better use of the cultural clash than he had imagined. Grudgingly he let out air and tried to relax. If she wanted him, she would have him.

“That is much better. You are fond of Sariti, right? I know you shared your bath with her. Why did you not wait for us to see? You were happy. She was happy. We would have liked to participate.” She stroked his ribcage with sixteen cool fingers. The sensation made Kianto gasp. “You humans have very interesting rites. Very…intriguing. We can learn from you. We try to understand. So it is not nice to exclude us.”

Kianto wanted to explain, but the gag reduced his words to throaty sounds that did not even resemble Mawany language.

“The one who made me said you have to be punished, but…” Her voice trailed off.

Kianto strained to hear what was going on around. He felt the presence of another Mawany, a breath of scented air, and a moment later it was gone again, and he could not tell if there were other persons around. Something was put down beside him with a soft clanking sound.

“We expect gratitude and that you follow our rules. After all, that is what a dominated people has to do, is that not so?” Won Ta Ki let her fingers wander across his body, causing ripples of pleasure on his arms, chest and legs. Finally, her fingers played with his half-erect cock. Kianto was torn between arousal and fear of what she might do with him. Donego had told him that the Mawanies only watched when humans made love. They did not interfere or participate. The show had never been disturbed before. Kianto wondered if he had initiated a new game without knowing the rules first.

Won Ta Ki cupped his balls to gently play with them. She massaged the small space between his cock and balls before stroking his manhood harder. Kianto wanted to resist her, afraid of her mood and her alien ideas, but could not. His nature was directed to the mating game and no matter the consequence, he was ready to satisfy within minutes.

The stroking got more intense, wilder, and urgent like a hunger that had to be sated. Won Ta Ki made sounds in her throat he had never heard before. He would have loved to see her face while his body went on automatic with the growing arousal. He bent his back, presenting himself, yet astonished to find his cock enclosed and the leathery skin of Won Ta Ki touching his thighs and hip. The pain that followed cramped his muscles. He balled his fists and lifted his head. The scream stuck behind the gag as some sharp thing pressed around his cock like tongs. He wanted to make her understand that she was hurting him, but could not. Her melodious voice appeared to soothe him, and when her fingers massaged his upper body, he knew she did not mean to harm him. Breathing heavily, he tried to ride out the pain and stay conscious as the tightness grew and something hot and wet played with his foreskin before slowly moving down his length. Then, all of a sudden, the pain melted away and left only warmth and a feeling of utter satisfaction he had never experienced before. The pressure and the pain remained, somewhere beneath, and with delay he realized that she still held him. He understood her action was meant to be playful and he went with the rhythm, sensing the alien with all his nerves. There was her light warm skin, leathery and smooth, then her fingers playing on his belly as if drumming to an unheard melody, and there was her voice, enchanting him to make him feel good. In a weird way he even understood some words as if the bodily contact influenced his mental state.

When his cock was released, Won Ta Ki moved backwards slowly and the singing ended. Kianto’s head slumped back on the bed. He panted as if he had run. All nerves in his lower body were on alert and so sensitive he almost jumped at the faintest touch.

Won Ta Ki purred.

“Your instrument of mating is very interesting,” she stated while her hands explored the object and moved back when he twitched. “There is strength in it and yet it can be so soft.”

Kianto panted, sweating and wanted to ask her what she had done with him. His head spun and he could not cope with the strange and wonderful emotion she had evoked. Blurs of light filled his head and slowly abated. Won Ta Ki sang while she washed him with warm water. The touch was pleasant and he realized he had not been hurt too badly.
