Chapter 16

Jessa

I’d text Hailey back the second I got to my room, letting her know that I’d been sleeping too soundly to hear the phone. She was getting ready to head to the airport to pick up Cody. She was going in her dad’s limo and wanted to know if I’d like to go along for the ride. I told her she should go alone so she could have Cody all to herself for a little while. She agreed that that would be nice, which really helped alleviate the guilt I’d been feeling for not wanting to go with her. The truth was, I wanted to stay at home and be near Beck. A whole new situation had opened for us. I was completely unsure which way it was heading, but for now, I wanted to spend time with him to help me figure it all out.

The intimacy we’d shared had gone way past my wildest fantasies. It was as if he knew me perfectly. Every second had been pure ecstasy. I realized one thing for sure after I’d gotten out of the shower— I was starved after my night of ecstasy.

A stack of fresh waffles was sitting on the kitchen counter. I was going to miss having a chef to cook me meals once I got back to my dreary little apartment. I poured myself a cup of coffee and pulled up a stool at the counter. Plodding footsteps entered the room behind me.

Beck placed his chin on my shoulder, and his arms snaked around me, making sure to stop on my breasts. “Where’s Hailey?” he asked.

“Went to the airport to pick up Cody.”

“Perfect.” His hands slipped under my shirt. “Come back to bed.”

“I’m just about to eat a waffle.” I lifted my hand. It trembled ever so slightly. “Look, I’m so hungry I’m shaky.”

“Bullshit. You’re shaking because I’m standing behind you with my hands up your shirt demanding that you get back into my bed.”

“Probably true. But this syrup is calling to me.” I poured the maple syrup on my waffles. He sighed with frustration and pulled his hands out. “For some damn reason, you are a much better submissive when you’re naked.”

“And horny,” I added.

He grabbed a waffle and put it on his plate. “Ah yes, that must be the missing ingredient. I can take care of that.” His hand crossed my thigh, and he pushed it down against my crotch. His finger flicked over the fabric of my shorts, and I sucked in a quick breath.

His dad’s hard-soled shoes sounded on the wooden floor in the hallway leading to the kitchen. I gasped and looked at Beck. His steely green gaze held mine, and he continued to stroke the fabric of my crotch.

“Beck,” I whispered loudly.

He pulled his hand just before his dad entered the room. My shoulders sank with relief.

“Morning, Jessa. Morning, Beck. I guess your sister went to the airport already.” He poured himself coffee. He was one of those scrubbed and polished older men with graying sideburns and just a touch of it in his hair. He was not the warm, goof around type of dad. He was definitely all business, a trait that had helped push my mom out the door.

He sipped his coffee and stared at both of us over the brim. I felt my face blush warm, as if he could tell what Beck and I were thinking. Almost as if he knew exactly what we’d been up to last night. Suddenly the waffle didn’t seem all that tasty. I took the tiniest bite and chewed it forever.

“Beck, it seems you and I haven’t had any time to talk. Let’s make some time later.”

“Looking forward,” Beck said with enough dripping sarcasm to butter an entire loaf of bread.

His dad put down the coffee cup. As he opened the fridge and leaned into it, Beck slid his hand back to my crotch. I froze in terror, trying hard not to feel the tingling sensation brought on by his touch. But he was good. Even through fabric, he was talented. My breaths came in short erratic spurts. I tried to push his hand away. He was too strong.

His dad closed the fridge, and I shot Beck a horrified look. His green eyes glinted wickedly. He pulled his hand just as his dad turned around with the orange juice.

His dad poured himself a glass and looked down at the waffle on my plate. “I see you still have the appetite of a bird, Jessa.”

I shrugged and smiled, completely tongue tied.

He lifted the glass of juice. “If anyone needs me, although none of you ever seem to, I’ll be working in my office.” With that, he walked out.

Beck jumped off the stool. “Thought he’d never fucking leave.” He spun my legs around and pushed between them.

“You must be kidding?” I asked.

“I never kid when it comes to fucking, Ducky. Especially when it comes to fucking you.”

“No the chef, the housekeeper. I can’t.” My phone buzzed. “And see, that’s your sister obviously sensing something is up.”

“Fuck.” He stepped back looking completely dejected.

I read the text. “Hey, Cody wants to go to this chic little restaurant up the coast. I just made reservations for four. I’m going to text Butthead right now and tell him he has to go. And shower. And dress nice.”

“Sounds fun,” I texted back. I looked up at Beck. The dark cast to his otherwise pale eyes assured me he still had only one thing on his mind. “Uh, Butthead, you’re about to get a text.”

Right on cue, his phone buzzed. Reluctantly, he pulled it out and glanced at it. “Shit, that sounds crappy.”

“Really? I thought it might be fun to wear a dress. I wonder if Hailey has someone else she could set me up with.”

“You think you’re clever, Ducky, using that blackmail shit.” He leaned forward and ran his tongue over my lips. The sensation of it went right between my legs as if his tongue had stroked my pussy. “Two can play at this. I’ll go. I’ll even clean up like my sister asked, but you are going to climb back into my bed right now and you’ll stay there until we hear that fucking limo pull up in the drive and Hailey’s voice in the entry.”

“It’s a sacrifice,” I said with a sigh. “But if I must.”

Chapter 17

Beck

I’d agreed to the dinner out only because I’d been so preoccupied with getting Jessa back into my bed, I would have said yes to just about anything. I’d only been around Cody, my sister’s boyfriend, a few times. He was an O.K. guy. We’d never be friends who just hung out together, but he was better than some of the other guys she’d dated.

Jessa took a piece of bread from the basket. She was wearing a slinky light pink sundress that tied up around the back of her neck like a vintage pinup bathing suit. The dress and the incredible girl in the dress were the only things that had compelled me to get into the backseat of Hailey’s car.

What some people called stylish or hip, I called stuffy and dull. But it didn’t matter that the wine tasted like shit to my undiscerning palate or that the tiny, weird little portions of food were like an appetizer to me or that my sister and her boyfriend spoke about things that held no interest for me. I was sitting next to Jessa in her sweet pink sundress. I could have died right there on the tufted leather booth of the restaurant, and I would’ve died with a fucking grin on my face.

“Didn’t you say you had a fight up in Brackford on Monday?” Hailey asked. I’d been too busy watching Jessa butter her bread and push small pieces between her lips to hear much of the conversation.

“Yeah, I do. I’ll try not to look too thuggish for your big grad day.”

Hailey waved her hand. “Too late. You already look too thuggish. Just try not to have any black eye or broken nose.”

“I’ll ask my opponent to avoid the face.” I plucked my napkin off my lap and dropped it on the table. We’d gone through four courses, and the next thing was one of the tiny desserts off the shiny silver cart being pushed around from table to table. “So, when’s the real food coming?” I asked.

Cody laughed, but it was somewhat forced. He’d picked the place but had obviously forgotten that I would appreciate the place as much as I’d appreciate a fucking root canal. Still, Jessa, who’d swept her silky auburn hair up in a ponytail, seemed to be enjoying it. As she licked a little butter off her pinky, I slid my hand over to her leg beneath the cover of the white linen tablecloth.

“Oh.” She dropped the bread onto her plate. Her cheeks darkened as she smiled. “Butter fingers.” She held her hand up. “Literally.”

Hailey and Cody laughed. I busied myself finding the hem of her dress. I slid my hand beneath the satiny fabric. Jessa stiffened next to me. She forced a smile. “So, how long are you in town for?” her voice squeaked higher as my fingers moved closer to her panties.

“Just until Wednesday,” Cody said. “But Hailey and I are going to head to Hawaii next month.”

Jessa looked at Hailey, trying with all her will to not notice my teasing fingertips. I’d found the bottom of her panties and was caressing the soft mound of her pussy beneath the tablecloth.

“You never told me you were going to Hawaii,” Jessa’s voice cracked. She pressed her hand to her chest and tried to clear her throat. I wasn’t making it easy, but I’d been sitting for a full two hours waiting for this silly meal to be over all the while having to breathe in her intoxicating fragrance and have her soft arms brush mine. I was done being patient.

“Cody surprised me with the tickets in the limo.” Hailey put her hand on his face and leaned over to kiss him. I took advantage of the few seconds of having her attention diverted and pushed my finger down between the folds of Jessa’s pussy. She was hot and wet. Now, I wasn’t just teasing her. I now had the worst damn hard-on I’d had since this afternoon when Jessa had stretched out naked on my bed, waiting, hell begging, for me to take her.

Hailey cut the kiss off and went right back to the conversation. “We’re going to the big island. I’ve never been. Can’t wait.”

Jessa nodded. Her skin was flushed. She picked up her napkin and fanned herself.

“Jess, I need to go to the ladies’ room. Come with me.”

“Thank god— I mean yes,” Jessa said abruptly.

“Why? Does she need to show you what to do?” I asked.

“You know how girls like to go in tandem to the ladies’ room,” Cody said with a grin. He rolled his eyes as if we were buddies on the same team or something. It was fine that he was trying, but my mind wasn’t too set on becoming pals with Hailey’s boyfriend.

Jessa gave me a look, and I reluctantly pulled my hand from between her legs. I slid partially out and made her climb over me the rest of the way. On her way over my lap, she reached discretely back and grabbed my rock hard cock through the fabric of my pants. I grunted and slid back into the booth wondering if I was going to be walking out of the place with a massive erection.

The waiter brought the bill and I grabbed it. Although it wasn’t too hard because Cody made only a half-hearted reach for it. “You’re a Grady guest this weekend,” I told him. I stuck in my gold card and waved the waiter back over.

The girls returned. I couldn’t take my eyes off of Jessa for one second as she walked through the tables. Heads turned as they made their way back to the booth. Stupidly, I was tense with jealousy just having other men look at Jessa.

Hailey was about to sit down but I stopped her.

“Bill’s paid. Let’s blow this joint,” I said.

“Great.” Hailey smiled. “I had a great idea while we were in the ladies’ room.”

“What the hell? Is that a conference room in there or what?” I asked.

“Shut up, Butthead. Let’s go dancing.”

Cody looked at me with a shrug. “I’d be down for tearing up the floor some.”

“Yeah? Not me. You guys go ahead,” I said.

Hailey looked over at Jessa. “Jess, you’ll go with us, right?” She looked hopefully at Jessa, and I knew too well that Jessa liked to do anything that made Hailey happy.

“Well,” Jessa said as I reached back and pinched her bottom to let her know she wouldn’t be dancing. “Ooh!” she squealed and then pretended to have to clear her throat again. “No, you know, I’m sort of tired. I think I’ll just turn in early. You two go and have fun.”

My sister was disappointed.

She’d get over it.

Chapter 18

Jessa

“Dress stays on,” Beck said firmly. “Just lose the damn panties,” he commanded, and then, just as fast, lost patience and yanked them down to my ankles.

He was rough as he grabbed hold of my wrists and pinned them against the bedroom wall above my head. But then his brilliant green eyes raked over my face and body with an emotion that was beyond sex and lust. The hard line of his jaw softened, and his chest fell as he released the breath he’d been holding.

“Jeezus, Jessa, do you know what you do to me? Do you know how strongly you’ve been twisted around my heart all this time. And now that I have you, I’ll be damned if I ever let you go again. Seven long fucking years,” he muttered as he lowered his mouth to mine.

The words coupled with the way he looked at me made my eyes burn with tears. In stark contrast to the grip he had on my hands, a grip that only punctuated his words of never letting me go, he made gentle love to my mouth and lips with his tongue.

“Tell me I’m not imagining this, baby.” His breath tickled my lips. “Tell me this is real.” He trailed his free hand down to the hem of my dress and lifted it high to expose my naked lower half.

I peered up into his pleading face. “It’s real, Beck. It’s real. I’m here with you, and I’m right where I want to be.”

His fingers pushed into my pussy, and my head lolled back against the wall behind me. “Oh shit, yes, I’m already there, Beck. I’m already there.” I squeezed my pussy around his hand and waves of ecstasy wracked my body. The teasing at dinner and then again in the backseat on the way home, coupled with the way he held me captive, made me come with hardly any effort at all.

He released my hands and, instinctively, my arms circled his neck. He shoved his pants down around his hips and his cock sprung free. Using the wall to brace my back against, he lifted me, and I circled my legs around his waist. He pushed inside of me. My pussy, still tingling wildly from the orgasm, clenched tightly around him.

He growled and braced one hand against the wall next to my face as the other hand held securely to my ass. He rocked so hard against me, the dresser and the pictures on the wall vibrated. He moved faster and more urgently, getting thrown off his rhythm more than once. Then his grip tightened on my naked flesh, and I knew he was there. He plowed into me again, and his head dropped back as a deep groan rolled from his throat.

We stood there, me clinging to him with my arms and legs, while our breathing slowed. Then, still buried inside of me, he carried me to the bed. With a tenderness that contradicted the way he’d just taken me against the wall, he untied my dress and lifted it off of me. I climbed under his soft, downy quilt. He climbed in next to me.

We lay there in each other’s arms. We didn’t say a word, but we spoke volumes to each other. It had always been that way with Beck. Even if we hadn’t spoken a word to each other, we knew exactly what the other person was thinking, feeling, wanting.

The waves were relentless, horrifying. I’d never seen the sea so angry. I grabbed for Jake’s hand but he went over first. My hand reached for him. I stared over the railing. The boat tipped throwing me toward the churning water. Jake was gone. His shoe floated past my face. I grabbed it hoping to god that he was somehow still connected to it. Something heavy and solid, a mast or some rigging, smacked my head. Pain shot through my skull. My vision blurred with the blow and the stinging salt water slapping my face. My legs cramped with cold and the crest of a wave washed over me and pushed me down. The ripped sail caught my leg pulling me down farther. I was going to die deep in the ocean, a terrifying tomb of salt water and monstrous sea creatures. My ears pounded with pressure, and I couldn’t hold my breath any longer. Two arms. Two arms came through the churning water. Hands grabbed me as blackness swallowed me.

I sucked in a breath and sat up with a start.

“Jessa?” Beck’s deep voice came to me in the quiet of the room.

The shaking started in my hands and moved through my whole body. Beck sat up.

“It was a bad dream,” I said quietly.

He pulled me onto his lap and held me in his arms. His two arms.
The
two arms.

I peered up at his face. “It was you. You pulled me from the water that day.”
