The two men chuckled at the irony of his statement and Ben finished, “Let me call you back in an hour. I need to contact my men.” He clicked off with Moshe. He hastily sent a text to each Dark Horse Guardian, including Bettencourt. This would be his first mission with them, but Ben somehow knew he’d blend right in.

As he listened to Lara and William joking around in the kitchen, he heard Rusty and Lara’s mother arrive. He was already packing his gear. He knew he’d be driving to Logan early in the morning and the Dark Horse Guardians would meet him there.
