There were several ups and down in Laila, the 20 year old colored pretty high school girl’s life. She loses her parents in a motor accident and is forced to live with her poor Aunt. Being young and a bit of a thrill seeker she joins a dare-devil gang and is forced to do a bit of shoplifting, partly for kicks and to keep with the high spending girls. She is very unfortunate to be caught and prosecuted. It forces her to abandon her high school carrier. She finds a job in a dress boutique and works her way up to be the manageress. Her immediate boss, a middle aged handsome white bachelor finds he is strangely attracted to the colored girl, he makes advances and Laila responds positively. Being promoted she celebrates the event with her white boy friend and in her exuberance, she surrenders her virginity to him
.
Thereafter Laila finds herself being blackmailed by one of her high school girl’s who happened to be the gang leader of the shoplifters. With the help of her immediate boss and her best friend Lamia they are able to trap the hard core shoplifter and get her arrested. Once again it was celebration time; Laila celebrated her second chance in life with her boy friend once again by surrendering her body and soul to him.
With the premature death of her parents in a motor accident, Laila the 20 year old colored pretty, high school girl was in for further shocks as she was forced to abandon her career as she had no one to finance her education. Also as a young naïve thrill seeker she sought the wrong company. Perhaps to overcome her financial difficulties and just for kicks.
While in high school she fell into the clutches of a handful of girls having great fun in getting involved in some dare devil pranks, especially in shop-lifting and were very boastful about their deeds in the presence of other girls. Laila, the colored girl, being young and naïve wished to join this group of rompers which was led by Rosy Tucker, another high school girl, but a very professional shop-lifter.
Eager to join Rosy’s gang, Laila had to prove her worth to the other girls, this was mainly due to her color difference, she was unfortunately roped in by Rosy into a silly dare game. Laila was dared to steal a lip salve. But on her very first attempt, being an inexperienced novice, she was nabbed and prosecuted by the man who owned the chemist shop she stole it from.
Denver, the owner was fed up with things going missing all the time and he decided to make an example of Laila, more so because she was a colored girl, so that the others at her school would be put off. Specially Rosy, who had a yard long shop-lifting record. Not that he meant to prosecute Laila just for a lip salve.
Whatever the case may be she had to stand trial and the presiding judge was a bit lenient, it being Laila’s first time and the merchandise which she stole being worth not more than a few cents, the Judge warned and discharged Laila.
It was a very sad day for the colored girl when the Principal called her and told her to leave school as she did not want to ruin the reputation of the school. With just a high school education and apart from that her only other asset to her credit was that she had a pretty face and a good physic. Her face, though it would not launch a thousand ships, it certainly had a pert little mouth and sexy eyes.
She had a pair of well developed boobs, which everyone adored; her rounded breasts with inviting nipples were well loved by her school mates. While some of her school mates needed implants to have big breasts, Laila needed none and was proud of them. She was also proud and self conscious of her rounded buttocks, hips and her fine legs.
All was well with her vital statistics, Laila, at the prime of her life felt abandoned, and it was quite a miserable feeling for a thrill seeking happy-go-lucky young girl. In desperation, Laila had to seek shelter under the roof of her Aunt, who was barely able to make ends meet, working as a stacker in a department store.
At the end of almost one year Laila was successful in landing a job in a reputed and fashionable dress boutique, run by a kindly middle aged lady, Miss. Devonheart.
When Laila applied for the job she never mentioned anything about her past record and so it was smooth sailing for her and she did an excellent job of work at the store where she had a very trusted friend, in Lamia, a 20 year old bubbly white girl, equally pretty as Laila but a few inches shorter than her, who helped her in many ways, they were almost like two sisters. Then there was her immediate boss. A young and handsome fair skinned bachelor who was thirty years old.
From the very first day she joined the dress boutique, Laila’s immediate boss, Dave Dunston, the fair skinned handsome young man had a keen eye and special interest on her. Not with any ulterior motive but because Laila had that special gift of charming people.
Ten months had passed, everything was smooth sailing for Laila till one day her friend Lamia went over to Laila and spoke.
“I’m afraid I’ve got bad news for you, Laila. Miss. Devonheart wants to see you in her office right now.” Lamia said.
“Why does it automatically have to be bad news, Lamia? I could be getting a humungous pay rise or something, you know.” Laila put in.
“Fat chance! Dragon Devonheart doesn’t know what the word pay rise means! She’s more likely to dock your wages for being two minutes late this morning!”
“I was early this morning. Actually, Lamia, so it can’t be that. Finish off this lot for me, will you? The sizes are all mixed up again.” Laila said handing her friend some garments for tagging.
“Okay Laila. Anything for a friend and good luck with the old dragon, you’re probably going to need it.” Lamia said as she gathered the garments from Laila, as she went to meet the boss lady.
Laila rapped on the door of her boss and stepped in. “Come in Laila. Thanks for being so prompt. Take a seat while I sort out your personal file and notes…” The boss lady said.
“Thank you. Ma’am….” Laila said and wondered what her boss was doing with her personal file and notes, and what was going on?
“There’s no need to look so worried, Laila. I can promise you that I think you’re going to like the news I have for you today…. What do you say to being the new manageress of the boutique section of the store?” Miss. Devonheart asked Laila who couldn’t believe her ears.
“Me?..... The Manageress?”Laila repeated the words in shock.
“I don’t know why you’re so surprised, Laila, you have been putting an awful lot of work in on the boutique. And this is just the company’s way of saying that they appreciate it. I know you’re the right person for the job…..even if you are colored and the youngest Manageress the boutique has ever had.” The boss lady said. With me there is no discrimination, whether you are black or white.”
“I don’t know what to say. I can still hardly believe it.” Laila said still in disbelief.
“It is a responsible position Laila, but I know that you’re more than capable of filling it. You’ve shown me that over the ten months you’ve been with us. It also means a rather substantial pay rise which I don’t think you’ll object to!” the middle aged boss lady put in.
“I can’t thank you enough for this chance Miss. Devonheart. I may be the youngest ever Manageress, but I intend to do a good job for you.” Laila informed her boss.
“I know you will, Laila, I wouldn’t have recommended you for the job if I didn’t think you would, and remember that my door is always open if you have any problems. That is what I’m here for.” The boss lady said.
“I’ll keep that in mind. Miss. Devonheart, Thanks again.” Laila said.
“Thank you, Laila, and let me be the first to say congratulations” Miss. Devonheart said as she politely ended the interview, as Laila was still in a daze.
The first person Laila met as she stepped out of Miss. Devonheart’s office was her friend Lamia who had been tagging the garments given to her by Laila.
“Laila what on earth happened? You’ve been away for ages!” she said eagerly waiting to find out what transpired in the boss lady’s office.
“Have I? I didn’t realize….” Laila said
“Well you certainly did! What’s up? You look kind of peeked up.”
“That’s because I’m still in shock! You’re never going to believe this, Lamia, but Miss. Devonheart just made me manageress of the boutique!” Laila said brimming with joy.
“Oh, Laila, that’s wonderful! Congratulations! It couldn’t have happened to a nicer person.” Lamia said with genuine pride.
“Thanks, Lamia. You know, I still can’t take it all in. I didn’t think I’d get to be the manageress for years yet.” She said.
“Well, I’m sure glad you did! Just think, we won’t have to suffer Ruby going on about her wonderful time and her hunky boy friend, Leo, anymore. I wonder who she is going to bore to death with her tales of the delectable Leo now.” Lamia said.
“The poor girls in bridal, probably. That’s where she’s going when she gets back.”Laila said.
“Speaking of boyfriends, when are you going to tell your immediate boss, that handsome guy who has an eye for you like a hawk, the good news?” Lamia asked her friend.
“When I see him this evening, I suppose. We were planning to go for a pizza anyway.” Laila informed her.
“A pizza? This calls for champagne and caviar not cheese and onion pizza! Get him to take you somewhere nice for a change. It is a special occasion, after all.” Lamia added.
“Yeah. But a management trainee’s grants unfortunately don’t stretch to special occasions very often. If I want to do something a bit more exotic, I’m going to have to pay it myself!” Laila said sadly.
“Oh, I forgot Dave was a management trainee, never mind, at least you’ll be getting a pay rise now. You will be able to afford the odd blow out, won’t you?” Lamia questioned her.
“Very true, and I intend to start tonight, whether Dave likes it or not.” She said. “I think I’ll see how I get on with Dave first before I try giving you any orders! I’ll tell you how I get on tomorrow.” Laila said giving Lamia a broad smile.
“Have a nice evening, Laila see you bright and early in the morning.” Lamia said as they prepared to close up for the day.
That evening Laila’s immediate boss, the fair skinned, extremely handsome and intelligent management trainee, and date called in at Laila’s place to take her out for their preplanned pizza.
Hi! There, you look kind of nice, Laila, but what was the mystery phone call about….asking me to get dressed up for tonight? I thought we were just going out for a pizza?” Dave said.
“We were, until I got some good news this afternoon at work. Guess what, Dave? I’ve been made manageress of the boutique!” Laila said putting her arms around Dave and hugging him in joy.
“Oh, Laila, That’s brilliant news! Well done, love!” Dave said kissing Laila passionately on her pert little lips. “I’m a bit surprised, that the old lady didn’t tell me anything about your promotion.”
“I can still hardly believe it. Perhaps she wanted to surprise everyone. Imagine me running the boutique at my age!” Laila said still hanging on to Dave pressing herself hard against him.
“I don’t need to imagine it, Laila, you work hard and you’ve had a lot of good ideas since you started in the boutique. I’m not surprised they promoted you…. I would have!” Dave said. “I happen to love you, Laila, and if it were up to me. I’d have made you president of the whole company by now.”
“One step at a time, we can’t reach for the stars all at once, thanks very much! Right now I’m more interested in the ‘Full Moon’ by half past seven, that’s when I booked our table for…” Laila was not able to continue.
“The ‘Full Moon’ but Laila, that’s really expensive. I hardly had enough money to cover two beers two pizzas, never mind pay the bill at the ‘Full moon.” Dave said feeling slightly embarrassed.
“You don’t have to worry about that, Dave, because I’ll be paying the bill this time. It’s my promotion and it’s my treat. I’m not going to take no for an answer. Let me do it love. I really want to celebrate and you are the only one I want to share it with.” Laila pleaded.
“Well, if you put it like that. I don’t see how I can refuse such a kind offer from you. All right, Laila, but I would certainly prefer to dine here and then go back to your place and enjoy a quiet evening with a nice glass of wine.” Dave informed her.
“Hey! Now you are talking. That’s a great idea, the food is great here, we’ll eat here and get back to my dig as you suggested, it would be more fun.” Laila said.
“I’m just sorry my trainee grant doesn’t run to treats like this all the time. Sometimes I get fed up being permanently skint!” Dave said with disgust.
“You may feel like that now, but what about when you qualify and get a four figure pay packet? You’ll be earning a small fortune then.” Laila reassured him.
“I know, my love, but I wouldn’t mind some of it to spend on you now. I love you Laila. I want to take you to nice places and buy you expensive gifts. Instead of going for pizza once a week.” He said with regret.
“Don’t worry; you’re going to, one day. Don’t think I’m going to let you away with anything, though I intend to stick around for a long time, you know.” Laila said encouraging him.
“I hope so, Laila. I sincerely do. I don’t know what I’d do without you now.” He said putting his arm around her and drawing her close to him.
