And in her dreams, she was still the same woman he’d returned to all those years ago. Still young enough to move with him when he made love to her, to feel the sparks of desire and enjoy the feel of him inside her.

She sighed, her chest aching, her old body unable to support her any longer. Her eyes drifted shut as complete exhaustion overtook her. It didn’t take long. It never did. Though tonight it was different. Instead of coming to her in the darkness, he was surrounded by a soft light that made her feel warm and comfortable.

Dream On

“Katie.”

He stood next to her bed and held out his hand. Surprisingly, this time it was easy to spring up and into his arms. The shackles of old age had been thrown off and she met him eagerly, their mouths meeting with passion and a love that went deeper than any words could describe.

“It’s time, baby,” he said, producing a pink rose. “It’s your time.”

She’d known that as soon as he’d come to her. That’s what was different about tonight. The light was the eternal light. And she was ready. More than ready. She’d done everything she’d ever wanted to in life and it was time to be reunited with Jack.

“Now we can be together, night and day, for all eternity,” he said, squeezing her in a tight hug. “No limits on our time together, no day running into night, no leaving you ever again.”

What a thrill to let loose of the bounds of flesh. Joy soared within her and she felt ageless, timeless, freer than ever. The moment she’d waited years for had finally arrived. Now she stood on the same plane as the man she loved. The man she would spend forever with.

“I love you, Jack.”

His eyes glistened with tears as he pressed his lips to hers. “Forever, Katie. Just as it always should have been. You and me together.”

His arms enveloped hers and bright light fused them together, body, heart and soul.

Forever.

About the author:

In April 2003, Ellora’s Cave foolishly offered me a contract for my first erotic romance and I haven’t shut up since. My writing is an addiction for which there is no cure, a disease in which strange characters live in my mind, all clamoring for their own story. I try to let them out one by one, as mixing snarling werewolves with a bondage and discipline master can be very dangerous territory. Then again, unusual plotlines offer relief from the demons plaguing me.

In my world, well-endowed, naked cabana boys do the vacuuming and dishes, little faeries flit about dusting the furniture and doing laundry, Wolfgang Puck fixes my dinner and I spend every night engaged in wild sexual abandon with a hunky alpha. Okay, the hunky alpha part is my real life husband and he keeps my fantasy life enriched with extensive “research”. But Wolfgang won’t answer my calls, the faeries are on strike and my readers keep running off with the cabana boys.
