Hood rat glanced over Cole with concern, and asked, “Easy, sugar. What’s going on?”

Pure undiluted rage roiled over Mya. Fire lit her veins, storming through every damned molecule in her body. Her eyes narrowed, penetrating like rays, locking in on her target. She wanted to jump through the two hulky males and rip the blonde’s freaking hair out while marring her beautiful face with Mya’s nails. Tremors shook through her muscles, radiating through every nerve ending. The cords in her neck strained.

“Sweetness?” Drake placed his hand over hers on his shoulder.

Mya jerked, turning her attention back to him, “Hon, Cole has no place in our business, but I don’t want you to fight him for me, because I can
guarantee
he won’t lay a finger on me again.”

Drake’s nostrils flared as he breathed and shook his head in agreement. “Okay. For you, sweetness…only for you.” He backed up, chest still cocked out, clenching and unclenching his fists. Staring at Cole the entire time.

Once he jumped back behind the bar, Mya turned to Cole. “And you.” She poked his shoulder. “Will. Back. The. Fuck. Off.”

Hood rat took a bold step toward Mya. “Don’t you dare talk to him like that!”

“Excuse me?” Mya, on the verge of going off the edge, swung her gaze to the tramp. She was about to swing something else at the bitch too.

Cole pressed his hand against the top of hood rat’s collarbone. “Hang back, Darcy. Do not say another word.”

Hood rat cocked her hip. “I’ll kick her—”

Cole’s hand moved up to cup hood rat’s mouth. “Not another word. This is our future queen.”

Darcy’s eyes widened.

Why did the words “future queen” rattle Mya’s nerves? Because he didn’t claim ownership or anything else over her, the future queen and nothing else. Something used and discarded like rubbish when he finished with her.

And then another thought hit her.
Darcy?
Mya couldn’t keep her mouth shut. “You’re the bartender?” Oh. Hilarious. Mya wrapped an arm around her stomach and doubled over in laughter. The hood rat was Darcy, the bartender. And what? She had to take a night off to be with Cole, so she called Drake in to fill her spot? Were they on a date? Laughable at best. Comical…even better. Did Cole ask her to take time off to be with him tonight?
Such a skeeze!

“I don’t see what’s so funny,” Darcy, the hood rat, said.

Mya couldn’t contain the laughter. It kept rolling and rolling out in hysterical waves. She thought everything was
fubared
before…well now—what could be so fucked up beyond all recognition? Cole was out on a date with another woman. Priceless. “You…” She waggled a finger at Cole. “…You are something else.” The Unseelies had a reputation for being malevolent, evil tricksters and he lived up to the tales perfectly.

She walked back to the bar on shaky legs and drew in a shuttering breath from the hysterics. “Drake.” Mya pounded the counter with a fist. “Two shots of tequila.”

“You got it, sweetness.” He whipped out two shot glasses, placed them on the bar and started filling them.

Cole suddenly stood right next to her, leaned down to her ear and growled, “What the hell are you doing?”

“Duh, asshole, having some shots.” She jerked her elbow back, using her shoulder, to push him away.

“Mya.” He didn’t budge.

“Shut up.” She flattened her palms on the bar top to keep from slapping him. “Go hang out with your little hood rat. At least she wants your company.” Oh shit, she clapped a hand over her mouth. Did she just admit the hood rat thing out loud?

Drake icily stared Cole down as he placed the two shots in front of Mya with slices of lime. “Here you go sweetness.”

Mya licked the salt on the rim and downed one of the tequila shots, as did Drake. She savored the burn as it slid down her throat, lighting her belly on fire, redirecting her pain. She sucked on the lime with a vigorous hunger while the citrus juice filled her mouth taking the edge off the alcohol.

Drake quickly refilled the shot he took and turned it around so Mya could take it—from the same place, he licked.

She didn’t hesitate, swiping her tongue on the spot Drake’s had been and threw the liquor back in two big gulps. “You are a doll.” She wiggled closer to the commander as she slammed the glass back down. “I truly enjoyed the…intercourse of our conversation tonight.”

~****~

Hon?
Doll? Intercourse?
Time for Cole to shut Mya down. His control already hung by a thread. Because they were in public, he’d honor Mya’s wishes by NOT laying a finger on her, but as soon as he got her out of this bar, all of him would be on her— in her. And he would make damned sure Drake would be reprimanded for his actions tonight. “We’re leaving, now,” Cole demanded.

Mya responded haughtily, “I’m not ready to leave yet. This party is just getting started. Right, Drake?”

Cole growled, “You will leave with me right now, or I will call in a command to the Elders and have a military escort remove you for everyone to see.”

Finally, her steely gaze met his. “You wouldn’t dare.”

“Oh, I would.” His molars ground together. “You’ve got five seconds.”

She swiveled in her seat to face him. “You do
not
get to order me around.”

He balled his fists, balancing his restraint not to bend her over his knee and spank her for her conduct. “Times up.” He ripped his cell phone out of his pocket and started to text the order to have Mya removed from the premises.

“Ohhhh!” she yelled in frustration, standing up and shaking her fists by her side. “You are incorrigible.”

His lips hiked to the side. When he got her alone, he was going to teach her a fucking lesson.

Mya turned to Drake. “It’s really nice meeting you. I look forward to our sessions.”

“You too, Mya.” Drake smiled like a filthy bastard. “Until then.” He winked.

He fucking winked at Mya. That’s it.
Cole stomped to the front door and opened it. “Now. Mya.” All rational thought—gone. He didn’t care who saw him leave with her.

She took her precious time strolling to the door. Then she turned around and yelled across the bar, “Goodbye, Darcy. I’ll never forget meeting you.”

As soon as Mya was out of the door and away from the windows, Cole grabbed her arm and pulled her against the brick brocade of a shop. His hardened cock pressed against her thigh.

“Uh, uh, uh.” Mya shook her head. “Hands off. I said you weren’t allowed to lay a finger on me and you’re breaking the rules.”

“I don’t care about those bullshit rules you tried to impose. What in the hell where you trying to accomplish with the commander?” He couldn’t contain his anger at seeing her all over Drake. Boundaries be damned, she was his. His. He’d slam into her pussy and remind her of the fact.

She shoved passed him and crossed the street, heading toward the mansion. “Cole, get over yourself.”

Fucking hell.
He couldn’t get over her. Seeing her with another man nearly did him in. Then now, she sashayed away from him in that tight short, jean skirt. His gaze roamed up her beautiful legs to her round ass, swaying and tempting him with each step, to bend her over and take her right there. Cole caught up to her as she slipped through the hedges of the mansion property. “You have no business being at the bar and chatting it up with one of the commanders of our army.”

“He’s the bartender! It’s not like I know anyone else here besides you and Liam.” She stomped across in the boots he bought for her.

“Then you should have come and found me.” He took furious strides next to her.

“You were too busy with hood—Darcy.”

She didn’t finish the hood rat, he noticed.
Is she jealous?
Is that why she gave Darcy such an insulting moniker? He followed her into the house when she whipped the door open.

Mya threw a palm up and said, “Oh, no. You aren’t coming in here.”

“Like hell I’m not.” He slipped inside, closed the door and locked it with his magick—drawing all the shades in the process.

“Cole—”

His hand slid behind her neck, capturing her mouth with his, halting her words and gave her a punishing kiss for ever thinking she could be with another man. He turned her around, pushing her back against the wall and pressed himself against her. Hands roaming down to her ass, he hefted her up, cradling himself between her.

She wrapped her legs around his waist and it pushed her jean skirt up to the top of her luxurious thighs.

“Never again, Mya. Don’t you ever do that to me again!”

“Me?” Her fists wound in his hair and she jerked his head back. “I saw you with that tramp and you didn’t seem to mind being overly friendly with her.” Her green eyes swirled with indignation. “Let go of me.”

“No.” His heart exploded against his sternum and he dug his fingertips into her ass. “You said you were mine.”

She gripped his hair harder, taunting him. “But, you aren’t mine. This isn’t a one way street.” Her legs dropped from around his waist

He wouldn’t release her. “I didn’t do anything with Darcy, never have. She’s a friend—only a friend.” There, he spoke the truth. Surely, Mya would know he didn’t do anything with Darcy, despite how close he’d been to doing more at the time.

All expression dropped from her face, the wall he taught her how to build firmly placed. “Leave. I want you to leave.”

Against her, his hardened cock pressed into his zipper and the pain of the metal teeth numbed the inner torment. For over a week, he was unable to see her, now he finally had her and she demanded him to leave. “Fine.” He released his hands from her ass and let her feet settle on the ground. “Per your wishes, I’ll go.”

“Thank you,” she said as he opened the door. “And Cole, if you see me with Drake or another man again, you are not to say anything or intervene. Are we clear?”

She rattled the beast once and for all.

Bam!
He slammed the door as flashback of her and Drake together assaulted him. “Not going to happen, wildflower.” Cole turned to face her and stalked after her with every intention to devour her. “Assume your position.”

She tilted her chin up while backing away from him. “No.”

Cole rubbed his hands together, warming them up. “Don’t make me punish you.”

“I don’t have to answer to you any longer.” Caught against the wall, she made herself flush, placing her palms flat against the plaster.

“Really? I’ll just go fuck Darcy instead and see what you think then.”

Hurt flashed in her eyes as she breathlessly said, “You wouldn’t dare.”

That’s all the confirmation he needed. He captured Mya by swooping an arm around her waist and dragged her to a plush chair. Cole sat down and pulled her across his lap, ass up.

She squirmed against him.

“I warned you, Mya.” He shoved her jean skirt up, exposing her glorious bared ass, and she tried to kick his shin. He wrapped his legs around hers securing her.

“I’m going to beat you, Cole!”

He slid a finger between the folds of her pussy. Soaking fucking wet. Her panties dripped with moisture. She arched her back, giving him more access, a slight moan escaping her lips as she parted her thighs. There was the permission he needed.

Smack!
His hand landed on her ass cheek. For good measure
—Smack! Smack!
She whimpered with each spank. He never liked to discipline on the edge of control, but she fucking broke him down until he hung by a shard. Cole smoothed the angry red flesh on her ass—so beautifully red. “Do you want to assume your position now?”

“Yes,” she whimpered.

He released her and waited for her to respond to his commands.

Mya didn’t meet his gaze as she got on her knees and spread her legs, clasping her hands behind her back—her skirt still bunched up at her waist with her thong in disarray to the side. Hardened nipples poked through her bra, pressing against her shirt.

Circling her, so he could see her magnificently spanked ass, he said, “Tell me what your intentions were tonight at the bar.”

Her breaths hiccupped. “I went out. I’m so tired of being cooped up. I saw the bar and wanted a drink.”

“And what about this whole
hood rat
thing?” He turned to face her. “Look at me.”

“I…” She blinked rapidly keeping tears back. “You. Her.” Mya took a deep breath, her body trembling, before she steeled herself. “You’re an asshole.” Her shoulders shrugged. “What more do you want me to say?”

“The truth, wildflower. I told you from the beginning this is based on trust, not on spinning untruths. Don’t try to trip me up. Tell me what happened back at the bar.”

“I saw you, with her, the—things you did. If you haven’t already slept with her you were damn near about to. I could see it in your face.”

The admission gutted him, eviscerating from navel to sternum. Mya was obedient, so responsive to him, and he—had every intention of taking things further with Darcy tonight. It’s why she called Drake in, to man the bar, so they could spend the night together. Thirty more minutes of flirting and he would’ve had Darcy in the sack, desperately trying to forget Mya. He scrubbed a hand over the hole in his chest. He was fucked up. In one fell swoop, he lifted Mya up from the floor, and into his arms. He carried her across the living room and jogged up the stairs.
