Head thrown back, she squeezed her eyes shut, writhing against his hands. Pleasure filled moans of ecstasy filled the room. She was fucking sumptuous as he watched her come undone.

After she came down, Cole demanded, “Get back down on your knees.” He moved to stand in front of her while she kneeled. His cock extended in the air proudly.

Mya’s eyes widened at she looked at his shaft. Her sweet little tongue swiped over her lips leaving behind a sheen of moisture.

“Is my greedy girl still hungry?” Giving her a playful smile, he stroked himself.

“Yes, Sir,” she answered with a hint of innocence.

“Open.” Cole rubbed the head of his erection over her delicate and reddened lips.

Her soft mouth drew around the tip and she sucked him.

It took every ounce of energy not to fuck her face. He clenched his fists at his thighs, letting her lead, to take her own pace. She needed to burn off energy anyhow, not him. Cole stood completely still, letting her kiss, caress and suck him into her hot and wanting mouth. “You feel so good, beautiful.” The way she nibbled his head shot bursts of pain and pleasure straight to his balls. Pure fucking torment, but he liked the pain—it was the only way he could control the darkness inside of him and to keep from hurting her.

Mya continued the tantalizing assault with her mouth. Soft moans purred from her as she licked and teased. Her cheeks hollowed when she sucked harder.

Restraint fled him. Cole grabbed onto her breasts and squeezed. Using them for leverage, he pushed into her warm mouth and pulled back out. Mya moaned around his cock and the vibrations made his balls tighten like vises. “Damn, Mya.” He yanked on her breasts pulling her closer and she moaned again. Each pulse of her rumble reverberated down his shaft. “You keep those little sounds up and I’m going to come in your mouth. Is that what you want?”

She hummed against his shaft.

The buzzes from her response sent him over the edge. He squeezed her breasts tight, using them to thrust into her mouth and exploded between her lips. Her wet mouth and soft tongue were absolute heaven while he pumped into her.

She kept sucking, taking all of him in and swallowed every drop of him down.

After he spent himself completely in her mouth, he pulled out and cupped her chin. Her wet and plumped lips stunned him along with the gorgeous innocence in her eyes. “Has anyone ever told you how magnificent you are, beautiful?”

Pink graced her cheeks and she gave him a closed lip smile before looking away.

Why did she turn from him? He tilted his head to the side, studying her. Maybe she never swallowed before? By the performance of her mouth, he would’ve guessed she had, but the way she responded right then, with a hint of embarrassment, made him think otherwise. She hadn’t grabbed his shaft using her hand at the base like most women do and she didn’t knead his balls—also like most other women who were seasoned in this department.

Curiosity won. “Mya, have you ever swallowed a man’s cum before?”

She cast her eyes downward. “No.”

He rocked on his heels. Holy shit, he didn’t expect that answer. Based on the way she surrendered to him so completely and willingly from the beginning, he assumed she was more experienced. Had she even tapped into her submissive side, before him? “Stand up,” he commanded her.

She bent one knee, placing her foot on the ground and then surged to a stand with the other, still keeping her gaze on the floor.

He scrubbed a hand over his face. He couldn’t ask her how many men she’d been with. The answer would kill him. But, he did have to know how far she’d been. “Has a man ever went down on you before, Mya?”

She shook her head with a modest no. “Only you.”

He exhaled on a whoosh. “Is this the first time you went down on a man?”

Nodding her head yes, she pressed her lips together tightly.

Fuck.
What did I do?
Cole ran his hands through his hair.
I’ll tell you what you did, you heartless bastard,
you made your future queen get on her knees and suck you off.
And right before he had to turn her over to the other Unseelie Elders, so she could continue her training. On top of everything, he was forbidden to touch her—ever. If the others found out, he would lose what little he had left in the court.
The damned darkness in him welled to the surface. It was a carnal and animalistic need to own and possess every part of her before he must give her up…

“Cole?” Her sweet and timid voice distracted him from spiraling further.

Argh! He forgot the whole point to their extra-curricular activities was to sate her power, not to get them off. This is exactly why he’d been forbidden to touch her. Wrapping his arms around her, he pulled her into his possession. He kissed her lips once more drawing their last moment together out just a little longer. Cole then pulled back a little and asked, “How does the energy feel? Has it lessened?”

“Yes. Thank you.” She held on to him a little tighter.

“Mya, we need to talk about your powers. Now that they’ve manifested, you have to discover how to harness your energy.”

“But, I don’t even know where to begin. I have no idea how I broke those chains.”

“You’re going to have to learn. We don’t know what we’re dealing with here and you can’t let yourself get unstable.” He caressed her arm. “Now, you’ve tapped into both your Seelie and Unseelie sides. I know you can do anything you set your mind to, you’re too strong not to.”

“What am I capable of?”

“I don’t know. I guess you’ll find out in the next stage of your training with the other Elders and Army Commanders.” Cole smoothed her hair back from her face.

“Next stage?” She peered up at him, furrowing her brows.

“There are four steps we have planned to prepare you for the throne. I’m in charge of the first phase, getting you in touch with both halves of yourself, so you don’t fear the other side. In order for it to work, I needed to take everything away from you. It’s why you were tied up and left alone every day—a sort of sensory deprivation. To give your mind time to analyze everything, then breaking it all down, allowing for a sort of reboot. I couldn’t tell you all of this because you would only anticipate things and it would make the process longer. Plus, you had to find your power on your own.”

Mya lowered her head, resting a cheek on his chest. “So, this whole week was just a training session to prepare me for the throne?”

“No, you and I needed to establish the bonds of trust as well. You have to know someone has your back on this journey.” He chuckled remembering how far she came in one week. “Did you see how you destroyed those handcuffs? That’s never happened before. I thought you were strong before, but now you’ve connected the two sides of yourself you are a force to be reckoned with.” He knew firsthand how powerful she was, it’s how they ended up naked together—again. His dark side wasn’t the only thing pulling them to one another. Her strength and sexiness drew him into her like a sleek deer lures a ravenous bear hiding in the brush.

Wetness dropped on his arm and he looked down. Tears? He cupped her chin forcing her to look up at him. “Why are you crying, wildflower?” The tears unsettled him and definitely not in a good way, they made him uneasy. “This was the toughest part of the training. It’s over now. You should be happy.”

Mya swallowed and shook her head, dislodging from his grip. “I am.”

“Tell me what’s going on, Mya.” Cole forced her to look at him and he studied the concern etched on her face. “Don’t ever keep anything from me.”

“This is the end isn’t it?” She squeezed her eyes shut. “Between us?”

Despite the knife twisting in his gut, he couldn’t lie to her—didn’t want to spin the truth of his words to ease the pain. “It is.” The heart in his chest crushed against his sternum like a boulder being slammed against concrete.

Her breathing fluctuated. “Were you ever mine?”

When he was inside of her, he was hers—completely, ultimately, but he said, “What happened between you and I shouldn’t have happened…It won’t ever again. It can’t.”

Because of the fucking scar on his face. The Elders would never approve of their union and personally, neither would he. Aos sí touted their perfection since they were better than humans. Nobody wanted the queen’s heirs marred with his imperfection, especially not Cole, the representation of ugliness. Even he couldn’t deny what a monster he was compared to the rest. Being an Elder was the only service he could contribute to his people and training Mya to access her powerbase was the only service he could provide for his queen. It killed him a little inside to admit the truth, but he would only taint the woman who was to become their leader. Hell, he already had.

Hurt flashed through Mya’s eyes.

And he knew why. He stole her innocence, made her crave the darkness like him, then turned her away like the monster he was. He had to end things with her though.

She steeled herself and he saw the moment she put the wall up around her emotions—like he’d taught her to do when he broke her down during the week. “What happens next?”

“I’ll take you to the Unseelie Court. Your next step is the training of your magick. While we don’t know exactly what you’re capable of, two of the Elders have studied the history texts in depth. They will help you understand your powers and Liam will practice with you until you get a firm grip on your magick. The next phase will be combat. Putting you on the throne will make your position volatile, until we can subdue the Seelies, you’re still vulnerable.”

“Will you train me in combat?”

“No. You will be taught by the commanders of our Army.”

“I see.” She nodded in understanding. “What is the fourth phase?”

“You will be trained as a ruler, taught all of the ways of the old laws and how to put new laws in place.”

“And just like that, it’s over between us?”

“Was there anything between us to begin with, sweetheart?” Regret, confusion—hell, even concern flooded him as the words left his mouth because she flinched at his response.

It would be better this way though, to get her to hate him, detach herself from him, so she could move on.

CHAPTER TWO

S
treams of sunlight trickled between the curtains in the bedroom of the cabin. Mya should be in better spirits since they were finally leaving, but she shoved her clothes into the luggage Cole bought her. The new clothes were welcomed and needed since she’d lost everything in the fire, but what really got her blood boiling—he seemed to take notice of her interest, picking out shirts, boot cut jeans with rhinestones, even shoes, she would love.
Men don’t do that.

He paid way to much attention to details with her. He knew everything about her, her likes, her dislikes, how to punish and please her. How to tear her heart into smithereens. Still, she knew nothing about him aside from his name, his status as an Elder in the Unseelie court, and his job as a fire investigator amongst the human world. Oh, and he was too incredible of a temptation for her. The way he took possession of her last night after a week of celibacy between them left her reeling.

What made him tick?
Did he really not want her any longer?
So many questions burned through her and with a huff, she zipped up the suitcase. She despised being completely captivated and consumed by the one who imprisoned her and tortured her through dark desires, only to spurn her. After he had his way with her the night before, he acted so blasé about everything—like their experience together was nothing and instructed her to pack after she woke up. This back and forth tug of war irked her beyond comprehension and she could never seem to get the upper hand.

Cole strode into the room, looking like the sexiest lumberjack she’d ever seen. He could wear the hell out of a flannel shirt and jeans. His dark hair spiked messily as if he mussed it up by running his hands through his hair.

When their gazes met, she stopped in her tracks.

He studied her, those electric blue eyes locking on her and he rubbed the scar over his chin.

Something bothered him—that much she picked up over the last week. She wasn’t sure if he even knew he absently caressed the mark on his face when in deep thought.

“What’s wrong, sweetheart?” he asked in that decadent voice of his.

Right,
so
not opening up to him now.
There isn’t anything between us, remember?
On top of everything—he said
sweetheart.
He only called her by the nickname when he distanced himself from her. He seemed to use it as a generic term versus wildflower or the more tender term,
baby
, which only came out in very dark moments. Check another item off the list of things she knew about him. Yippee! She glared at him. “Nothing’s wrong.” Truth. Things can’t be wrong if they were never technically right. This whole situation between them has been
fubared
since the beginning.

“Don’t spin your words. I thought we established the trust between us.”

Ha! That was before you cut tail and ran off!
Heat flared in her chest as she stared him down. He seriously acted like all of this was normal. Well, she wouldn’t give him the satisfaction of knowing the power he held over her. A change in topic would get her thoughts back on track and away from him. “Did you find out anything more about the fire? I still have a hard time believing Gavin would burn my house down with me still inside.”

“The chemical sprayed inside of your walls was a mixture of an oxide and fuel, used to decelerate a fire. I can only assume it was to give you enough time to wake up and get out.”

Hold up. She remembered a man wearing a black hoodie and jeans, darting down the hallway into the spare room at her house. Had he watched over her to make sure she woke and escaped? But still—Gavin? “What possible reason would he have to burn my house? Did anybody else in either court buy the ingredients for the chemicals?”

“Let me ask you—why did you call Gavin to come and get you during the fire?”

“I couldn’t bother Nicole’s parents, her brother just died. So, it was either Gavin or my other friend Michaela, and I certainly didn’t want to call her.”

“Why not?”

Mya waved an arm in the air with frustration. “She hates me for some unknown reason and turned all of our friends against me.”

“When did that happen?”

She shrugged. “It slowly built over the last year. I might have been too blinded to see it. I thought she was busy, but I realize now she slowly separated herself from me. She spread untruths about me and the other girls quickly followed suit, though I had no idea. They think everything she says is true because of course, she’s virtuous and can’t
lie
.”

“Michaela’s mom is a Seelie Elder, isn’t she?”

“Yes, but I fail to see what that has to do with any of this.”

“When I took you from the Seelie Court, you were about to be held for a trial. They have photo evidence of me at your house the night I was there. Somebody’s been watching you very closely.”

Someone snapped a picture of Cole at her house? Dread weighed heavily in her stomach. “And you think it’s all connected somehow?”

“The fact your house caught on fire the very next morning is eerily coincidental. And, Gavin happened to buy one of the chemicals in the fire? If things were rocky with you and Michaela, we can’t rule anything out. There’s gotta be some type of connection there.”

Of course! Michaela had called Gavin right after the fire! Were they working together? Betrayal stung her heart and unbidden, Mya’s fingers traced around her mouth.
I kissed him, in his bed.

Cole must have caught her reaction because his lips sneered to the side. “You thinking about that bastard again?”

All of this was too much to take in. “He is my friend, or—at least I thought so.”

“Gavin is not who you think he is.” Cole took a step toward her.

She moved back a pace. “Like you know him any better? He’s a Seelie. You’re an Unseelie.”

“Things were different before you were born.” Another step closer.

One more backward. “Sometimes, I forget how much older you are and how you think you know everything.” Granted he was only ten years older, but he was an Elder. She squeezed her fists against her thighs. “I’m getting really sick and tired of the round abouts, Cole. Really. Either talk or don’t, but I am done with you and your little games.”

He stalked toward her, an angry wolf determined to corner a little rabbit. “You’re killing me here.” His nostrils flared with each deep inhalation.

Mya retreated until the back of her knees knocked into a nightstand—trapped. “I’m killing you?” Heat rampaged through her as it drew off of his nearness.

“Do you have any idea what you do to me?” He loomed over her, encompassing her with his heady scent, a forest fresh from the rain. “How you provoke me?”

“Me? What about you? You’re hot, then you’re cold. I don’t freaking understand what is going on with you and what you want from me.” She banged her fists against his chest trying to push him away. “You said you took me to train me, to prepare me for what lies ahead, but then you have sex with me and demand everything from me. I don’t even know what’s going on!” Ugh! Frustrating man!

He stared at her for a second, a dangerous heat dancing in his eyes. Then his lips descended to hers.

She whipped her head to the side and the kiss landed on her cheek. “No. Cole.”

His lips brushed her cheek, down to her jawline, charging her skin with electricity. “I can’t let you go, wildflower.”

She shoved him back, but like a brick wall, he didn’t move. Either way, she made her mind up. Pain lanced her chest. “I was never yours to have.” Practically begging for a fight, a knock out drag out, strip her and take her down to the mattress fight, she pushed him further. “I’ll tell the Unseelie Elders what you did to me last night because I guarantee taking advantage of their potential queen isn’t part of the deal.”

His teeth grazed along her clavicle, a silent promise of salacious pleasure to come. “Consequences be damned, I’ll have you again,” he growled before his lips met her skin in a tender kiss, then another.

“No. I—don’t…” Her knees trembled with each of his kisses. Even imagining him taking her again made her weak with desire—made her lose herself to him. Everything else faded away. Who burned her house…Why did Gavin do it…The brewing war between Seelies and Unseelies…If Mya took the throne could she take the throne? All of those issues were miniscule compared to Cole taking control of her right then.

His lips slid against the hollow of her neck, back and forth, setting her on fire. “You can’t deny you want me, Mya. I bet if I slipped a finger inside of you I’d find you wet and wanting.”

Her inner core clenched at his words and she wanted him to follow up on his threat. Wait—she shook her head to clear some of the fog. They couldn’t do this, mustn’t do this. Living the rest of her life yearning for him would kill her slowly, piece by piece and not in a good way. Already, she was too close to him, especially when his thumb slid over her breast, teasing her nipple, stroking it to a hardened bud. Her feelings toward him were dangerous. They made her unstable at best.

BUT…she loved that instability, the way he took control of her and demanded, always keeping her piqued, never knowing what came next. “Why do you keep doing this to me, Cole?” she whispered not able to stop the shakiness in her voice.

“You’re an obsession, a ravaging addiction to the cravings inside of me. You’re like a drug.” His lips latched on to her neck, sucking. “Sate me, Mya,” he said against her skin, hot breath spiking an already blazing inferno.

Her stomach flipped, twisting with anticipation driving her need for him higher. “Cole.” Thoughts ceased the ability to form—only the temptations of him remained.

“Would you spread yourself for me, sweet wildflower? Would you let me devour you?”

Tingles of passion rocked through her empty sex, begging to be filled. “Yes Sir.” The words slipped from her lips. She craved to completely surrender to him, to be servile as the demand to have him rampage through every nerve ending in her body. Cole had a way of taking her to new heights of pleasure and opening up parts of herself, she hadn’t known existed.

“Get on the bed and present yourself for me,” he commanded.

Shivers raked over her skin as she undressed and climbed up onto the bed. She brought her knees up to her shoulders and spread her legs open for him. Even though he’d seen all the most intimate parts of her, touched her most cherished parts, every time she put herself on display for him a feverish storm of apprehension roiled through her. Because she opened herself up to his subjection over her. She was surrendering.

“So beautiful.” Cole traced a finger around her labia before he stuck a finger inside of her sex and withdrew his digit. He held his index finger up, gleaming with moisture. “I knew you’d be wet for me.” A wicked and sexy smile played on his lip. He brought the finger he had inserted in her up to her mouth. “Suck it.”

Mya hesitated for a moment, but Cole narrowed his eyes on her in warning of disobeying him. His finger slid back and forth over the seam of her lips, encouraging her to take his finger, and she acquiesced. Opening her mouth, she sucked his finger taking it in, caressing the digit covered in her essence.

He growled in approval and his head descended on her mons, kissing and nipping the tender areas in between her thighs.

She sucked on his finger harder, wanting more, needing more. She hungered for the deeper connection they shared when they were joined as one. When his tongue slicked along the walls of her labia, she arched up into his mouth, damn near biting his finger still in her mouth.

Cole’s warm, wet tongue slid over her clit, lapping at her in long, hard strokes and she moaned, begging for more. A finger probed the entrance of her sex and he pressed inside. He penetrated her, fast and quick, bringing her higher and higher as he tickled the spot deep inside of her while he sucked on her clitoris.

Desire grew, welling in her stomach, quivering through her thighs, until she exploded around him. Her cries echoed in her ears while she rode each pleasurable wave. As she came down from the high, she dropped her shaky legs, unable to keep them up any longer.

Cole rose and took his rock-hard erection out of his jeans, stroking it in his hand. “Stand up and bend over the bed.”

Mya did as commanded. Her butt jutted in the air as she leaned over and panic trembled through her. Last night he’d touched her nether region. Surely, he wouldn’t. She glanced at him over her shoulder, nibbling her bottom lip through her teeth.

“What’s going on in that head of yours?” He slid his shaft in between the gap of her thighs and rocked back and forth.

She didn’t want to admit the truth to him. If she told him what caused her hesitation, he might get the idea to actually try and penetrate her
there.
Instead, she used a distraction. “Please, Cole, I need you inside of me.” She ground against his shaft.

His hand slid over one of her ass cheeks and she kept from tensing. He spanked her and she yelped when he squeezed her flesh where his palm landed, before smoothing it over the burn. “Mmm, did I ever tell you how much I love to hear you beg me?”

Mya squeezed her thighs together, locking his erection firmly between her legs, and she moved her hips to grind him against her clitoris. “Please, Cole. I want you so badly.”
Smack!
His palm landed on her backside again, over the same spot he spanked before and licks of fire zinged across her skin. She clenched his shaft tighter.
