“Forever, Logan. Love me
forever.” Sam was drawing the words from him, but he was giving them freely and
her heart soared as her body clenched tighter, her muscles tensing to help hold
her body up, trying to send him deeper.

“I will love you until my dying
day, Sam.” His strangled words, said with such heart felt emotion sent her
plunging into the abyss, her body shattered, milking him, pulling him closer.

And as Logan groaned, his release
filling her, his eyes penetrating deep into her soul, Sam knew she would belong
to this man forever.

~*~*~

Logan lay in his bed, Sam wrapped
in his arms, her body gloriously naked against his, and nothing, not another
man, not a single worry came between them in that moment.

When she had shown up in his
shower, he’d been overwhelmed with his need for her, exceeding far more than
sexual desire. His need to hold her, to touch her, to love her. And she had
come to him. She had sought him out, shown him what her love meant, given
herself over to him in that moment, and he knew without a doubt, he would make
Sam his for eternity.

Now as they lay in his bed, their
bodies sated from their love making, he had no desire to let her go. To hold
her was more than he felt he deserved, but nothing less than he would take from
her. His throat was clogged with emotion, so much that he could barely breathe,
barely think for the intensity of what he felt for this one woman.

“Marry me.” He said the words
before he knew they were coming. He’d been thinking them for the last forty
eight hours, wanting nothing more than to give her wine and roses, fall to his
knees and beg her to stay with him forever.

Now that he said them, he
realized the setting wasn’t what he had envisioned, but he meant them just the
same. As he held his breath, he waited for her reaction, half expecting her to
tense in his arms, to be taken aback by his horrible timing.

What he got was just the
opposite.

“Yes.” She didn’t move from his
arms, didn’t try to turn and look at him; instead she spoke the word in the
silence of the room, her lips pressing against his hand, those sweet, warm
lips.

“Now.” He pushed her farther,
wanting her to realize he was serious.

“Assuming you don’t mean right
here in this bed, but yes, I will marry you, Logan. Anytime. Anywhere.”

“I don’t want to lose you, Sam.
I’ll do anything to keep you in my world, anything to make you happy.” And he
meant the words from the depth of his soul. Unsure why he felt the need to
express the lengths he was willing to go for her, he couldn’t hold them back.

Then she turned in his arms,
placing her cool fingers on his face as she looked at him, the vivid,
iridescent green of her eyes glassy from unshed tears and the world slowed, his
heart pounded painfully in his chest as he waited for her demands.

“Remember the conditions I made
when we first started this?” She asked him, her voice trembling.

“I remember.”

Her head rested in the crook of
his arm, her silky blond hair, the golden highlights contrasting brilliantly
against his white sheets, her smooth, creamy skin flush from their earlier
lovemaking.

“I left one off.”

Logan’s heart leapt into his
throat. He knew this was coming, had been expecting it since her abrupt need to
put a little distance between them. Though he’d tried to show her all of the
ways in which he wanted to love her, to pleasure her, to make her love him.

“I want everything you have to
give me, Logan. Everything.” Sam told him now, and he waited, trying to
understand what she meant, but confusion was closing in around him.

She wanted everything, and he
wanted to give her everything. Even if it meant changing who he was. He would
do it for this one woman who had wiggled her way into his heart so quickly, so
deeply.

“I don’t want you to change who
you are, and I want to be who I am. I want to stand beside my conviction, to
love you, be loved by you. Even when doubts plague my mind, I want you to know
that I will always trust you, always believe that you will take care of me.”

That was what he wanted too. But
had he heard her correctly? Was she saying that she accepted him for who he
was?

“Even Luke?”

“Yes. Even Luke. What you’ve
shown me defies imagination, but it’s been pleasure unlike any I have ever
known. And though I know you will share my body with Luke, I need to know that
you will never share my love.”

“Never.” Logan growled then, a
flood of possessiveness overcoming him. He moved atop her quickly, pressing his
body into hers, needing to feel her beneath him. “Mine, Sam. You will always be
mine. Only mine.”

Sam looked up into his eyes, a
small smile tilting her lips, a tear glistening down into her hair and Logan
nearly lost his mind.

“That’s my condition, Logan.”

“And mine is that you never stop
loving me, Sam.” He pressed a kiss to her lips, soft, gentle, holding back the
sudden urge to bury himself inside of her.

All morning he’d been moving
around his empty house like a caged animal, the fear boiling in his chest,
making him vulnerable. He’d finally come to the conclusion that he had to
convince her that no matter what it took, he would make her his. He would
change. For her. The thoughts had plagued him, but nothing compared to the way
his heart had feared she would be unable to accept what he wanted from her.

“Never.” She said, the word
choked out, a sob tearing from her chest as he slid inside of her again, her
body sheathing him with her heat. “I will never stop loving you.”

He’d never tire of this.

 “You look beautiful.” Deanna smiled;
her sweet, chipper voice was no different from when she was in the office.

“Thank you. You look stunning
yourself.” Sam replied, taking in the other woman. Deanna was wearing a floor
length navy blue velvet gown that accentuated her beautiful blue eyes and was a
perfect contrast to her gleaming gold hair.

“We did pretty well, don’t you
think?” She asked as the two women stood near the entrance, greeting guests as
they flowed in and out of the large convention center ballroom.

“I think so. Though, I’m not sure
you or I actually did anything at all.” Sam smiled facetiously. “Veronica is a
bulldog when it comes to these things.”

“That she is.” Deanna agreed.

“Did one of you seriously refer
to me as a four legged animal?” The seductive voice came from behind them, a
deep, sensual laugh that caused men’s heads to turn.

Sam turned to see the woman
solely responsible for the successful XTX Christmas Party.

Veronica looked stunning in a red
satin sheath dress that hugged every curve, her long black hair flowing like a
curtain down her back. Sam had seen more than one man do a double take when she
walked by.

“I’d say we all did a great job.”
Veronica agreed as she gave Sam a quick hug, then turned to Deanna for the
same.

“Well, we all know the credit
belongs to you.” Deanna smiled her beautiful smile, her eyes searching the
room.

“Where’s Tommy?” Sam asked, her
eyes following the path that Deanna’s had.

“He’s somewhere around here. You
know men, when they get together they like to venture off into a corner so they
aren’t cornered into dancing with the one they brought.”

Sam laughed. The man she had come
with apparently hadn’t gotten that memo. Logan had kept her on the dance floor
for the first half hour after they arrived, only giving her a brief reprieve
when Xavier had interrupted. The two men had disappeared somewhere, and Sam had
jumped at the opportunity to take a break.

After their arrival, Logan had
whispered some seductive words and promises for later, in between his greetings
of their guests.

Sam had decided that he liked to
see her blush, which he had been successful at numerous times.

Sam’s gaze searched the room,
hoping to catch a glance of Logan somewhere, only to find her eyes landing on
Alex McDermott, standing stone faced only a few feet away. He didn’t look
happy, and his attention was on a woman on the dance floor.

Sam had seen the woman earlier, a
beautiful, petite brunette wearing a shimmering silver gown, her hair upswept
in some intricate style. They hadn’t been formally introduced yet, but Logan
had pointed her out earlier in the evening. She was none other than the famous
Ashleigh Thomas, Xavier’s granddaughter, and apparently the woman who got away
as far as Alex was concerned.

Logan hadn’t elaborated much past
that, but based on the way Alex trailed the other woman’s every move, Sam got
the impression there was something between the two of them. Even Dylan Thomas,
Ashleigh’s brother, and Sam’s other boss had made reference over the last month
or so to Alex’s feelings toward his sister. Generally, they seemed to be said
in order to get a rise out of Alex. For the most part, they worked.

“Mind if I steal this beautiful
woman for a little while?” The deep, dark voice pierced the air, and caused
Sam’s attention to turn toward the man who had just approached.

Logan stood behind her,
devastatingly handsome in his tuxedo, the mischievous gleam in his eye making
her insides tighten. Sam wasn’t sure how he could still manage to get to her
the way he did, but it was unmistakable, when Logan was near, she felt him to
the depths of her soul.

Sam took Logan’s outstretched
hand and allowed him to once again lead her to the dance floor.

“Do you know how good you look
tonight?” He asked when he pulled her up against him, his hand going to the
small of her back, just above the back hem of her dress. She’d spent days
searching for the one dress that would take his breath away and based on the
way he had reacted when he first saw her, she’d succeeded.

The black backless slip dress had
a plunging neckline and a thigh high slit on the side, allowing her room to
move, while exposing her thigh. The way his eyes continued to dart down to the
exposed skin made said skin tingle.

“You can tell me again.” Sam said
sweetly, running her fingers into the hair that rested just atop his collar.

“I can tell you so many things.”
Logan whispered in her ear. “Like how I plan to strip you out of that dress
just as soon as I can and ravage that amazing body.”

“Promises, promises.” Sam teased,
her body tightening in all the right places. His voice sent chills straight
through her. And despite the fact that she knew he kept good on his promises,
Sam still anticipated every move he made. Since the night he proposed, the two
of them had spent every waking moment with one another, aside from going to
work.

He’d insisted that she move in
with him, and though reluctant at first, Sam hadn’t been able to tell him no.
Having been worried that she wouldn’t be able to live with another person,
since she’d lived most of her life alone, except for with her parents, Sam had
been pleasantly surprised at how easy their lives had become.

The day to day routine was the
same, only she was able to spend every night in his arms, and wake up every day
to his sweet kiss. Expecting some of the newness to wear off, they’d both been
surprised at how much they still wanted one another.

“How’s Alex doing?” Sam asked as
she twirled around, her eyes landing on Alex who was still standing against the
wall, his gaze intent as he followed Ashleigh Thomas around the room.

“He’s got his work cut out for
him, that’s for sure.” Logan said, turning his attention to the other man. “Now
that Ashleigh’s back, I don’t think he knows what to do with himself.”

“Does he plan on letting her know
how he feels?” Sam asked, turning back to Logan.

“With Alex, I don’t know. He’s
had a hard on for that girl for as long as I can remember. Since she’s ten
years younger, he seems to have an issue with the age difference.”

“Is that right?” Sam laughed. “I
happen to like older men.”

Logan pulled her up against him
in a possessive embrace. “You mean you happen to like an older man.”

“True. There is only one man for
me, Logan McCoy.”

“Damn right.” He growled. “I wish
we were anywhere but here right now. I’d make you strip out of that dress while
I ravage you with my tongue.”

Sam sighed, her stomach muscles
clenching. With Logan, he never ceased to share his every thought. Nor did he
ever not affect her on some primal level.

God she loved this man.

~*~*~

Logan held Sam closer, breathing
in her intoxicating scent.

She was the most beautiful woman
in the entire room, and he wasn’t lying when he told her what he wanted to do
to her.

Had they not been at a company
function, he wouldn’t be above sneaking to some secluded area and stripping her
naked just to see what she would do.

In the past few weeks, ever since
she had finally given in to her desires, Sam had become wild. And he loved
every fucking minute of it.
