“Is that what happened?” Cindy asked as she eyed the carriage over curiously. “All I remember is walking through the forest before suddenly I was rolling along the ground. I didn’t know what was going on.”

Specca whimpered then quickly ran forward and hugged Cindy close, crying onto her shoulder as the wraith glanced to her with a happy smile.

“I’m so sorry!” Specca apologized. “Please forgive me. I didn’t see you until it was too late, I didn’t mean to run you over like that. I’m so glad you’re okay, I really am.”

Cindy gently held Specca around her waist and giggled, with the nixie tenderly holding the girl for a little longer before leaning back and seeing through her teary eyes the blonde girl smiling kindly at her.

“Are you really okay now?” Specca worried.

“Uh huh,” Cindy said as her neck and cheek shifted from flesh to grit.

Specca slowly eyed the transformation then began to whine in fright as she felt the girl holding her very tightly now. She recognized what she was seeing yet prayed with all her might that she was wrong.

“You’re not human,” she nervously said.

“Nope.”

“You’re… a sand wraith.”

“Yep,” Cindy giggled happily.

“She’s a what?” Kroanette gasped in horror.

Specca took a shaky breath then screamed at the top of her lungs as she tried to free herself, the nixie being kept close in the wraith’s strong grasp while the monster’s body began to slowly pull Specca into it.

“She’s a sand wraith!” Specca shrieked. “No! Let me go! Let me go!”

“Specca!” Kroanette cried out as she quickly grabbed the nixie’s hand and tried to yank her free. All she managed to do however was pull the two girls over into a fall onto the ground, with Cindy laughing playfully as her sandy body began to envelop Specca.

“She’s going to eat me!” Specca yelled out. “Help! Help me, please!”

“Let her go!” Kroanette shouted as she tried to pull Specca free. Cindy laughed as she kept Specca still on the ground, the centaur’s efforts to pull the nixie away being futile as the wraith remained anchored firmly to the ground with her body slowly sucking Specca into it.

“It’s alright,” Cindy playfully assured them. “I’m going to eat both of you, don’t worry.”

“Let her go this instant!” Kroanette demanded as she strained with all four legs to yank Specca away from the wraith. The nixie screamed as she was slowly pulled deeper into Cindy’s body that stretched around her own with a painful sensation against her skin.

“Oh god, it hurts!” Specca wailed as it felt like she was melting in lava. She managed to yank her other hand free and tried to slap Cindy, the hit only smearing her face to the side with sand flying off. Specca and Kroanette screamed in shock at seeing the horrifically disfigured face of the wraith laughing at them before it slowly reformed again.

“It’s okay, you’re just going to die,” Cindy kindly reassured before grabbing Specca’s hand and pulling it back into her body. The nixie’s tail whipped around to the side before it too was sucked into the wraith’s sandy body that intended to swallow the nixie whole.

“Help!” Kroanette called towards the carriage. “Help us, please! Get out here, someone! Help!”

Specca strained to scream out as her body felt like it was going numb, the nixie rocking her head back with wide eyes while she held onto Kroanette for dear life. She couldn’t draw in another breath, she couldn’t speak, she could hardly think as she began to go into shock. The wraith’s body had nearly engulfed her entirely now, with only her head and arm remaining to be pulled in before she would be devoured by the dreaded monster.

Slowly Specca turned her frightened gaze back to Cindy as the wraith kept her face close to hers, a warm smile being seen on the monster that did nothing at all to hide her intentions with the travelers.

“It’s going to be alright,” Cindy gently said. “I’m just going to eat all of you up. So please be good and die now, okay?”
