I set the velvet box I've been carrying in my pocket on her bed before heading over to her diary. I probably shouldn't read it. I told her this was completely hers to do with as she pleases and that I would give her this just for herself. I would not taint it but at this moment, I could care less about what I said to her. I have to know what she's said about me. What if her feelings were just a lie and she truly does not love me? What then? I hate that I am so unsure when it comes to her but our circumstances are not the greatest when it comes to mutual trust. I know she does not completely trust me. Although I have not always been kind to her I never once lied about my feelings, but she may not see it that way due to how she became mine.

I peak at the words written on the paper as if they could hold the key to Sierra's heart; and maybe it does. Maybe if I read what she has put down onto paper I will get a glimpse into Sierra's heart and mind. I will find out her true feelings for me and her thoughts on this whole situation we are in. I know some of her thoughts and feelings but I believe she has held back for fear of punishment.

Today is the day. I can feel it. Something is going to go wrong and Jeremy is going to get hurt. Or maybe I will. My gut is telling me I need to lock my door and barricade myself into my closet until it's all over. But what will happen if Jeremy gets hurt, or worse, killed? Will they come for me? I don't know but I fear for us all and Jeremy just assures me it will all be ok.

My other fear is my love. Will he come for me today? Is that why I am feeling so unsettled? What do I say to him to make him leave me behind? He won't believe I want to stay. He will know something is wrong. I fear that he won't stop until he has me back with him. I crave his touch. I miss his eyes, his lips, and his kiss. If I have any hope of keeping him safe and alive he must leave me behind and never come back. I could not bare it if he were killed because of me. Anyways, if he were to know the truth about me, about Jeremy, he would never look at me the same. He could never love me again and I would much prefer it if he saw me as I used to be instead of the monster I have become. I doubt he would accept the baby and me. It would disgust him to learn of my infidelity even if it was due to circumstance and survival. I could not handle it. It is best if he leaves me here and never comes back. I just need to figure out how to convince him of this.

Baby? What baby? And who is this man she speaks of? Her love? Is it one of my men or my buyers? How could she do this? How could she profess her love for me when she obviously has feelings for another? I knew it was too good to be true. Oh, she will be punished for this. I will not be played the fool again. It is strikingly clear what must be done. No more will she be spoiled. I will get to the bottom of this and find out what baby she is speaking of and after that, she's gone. I could get a lot of money for her. I will sell her to Omar. Oh, he will be so pleased to hear of this. I never wanted her damaged but now that she has lied and betrayed me, Omar is the best solution. He is not easy on his girls and Sierra will be begging him to give her back or even kill her. He is one sick fuck and I believe this is this best solution to all my problems. I guess it is back to the drawing board again. Time to find myself a new love. I know eventually I will find a woman that will love me back; it is just too bad Sierra wasn't her.

I take the velvet box with me as I head out of Sierra's room and back to mine. No reason for her to have it when she will be gone soon. Once I reach my oasis, I grab my phone sitting on my nightstand and hit the call button.

"Omar." His voice barks through the phone. I must have caught him in the middle of something.

"Omar, its Jeremy. I have something you want." I can hear his ragged breathing on the other end of the line and the whimpering that follows. I caught him in the middle of something all right, and a smile crosses my lips knowing what I have to offer him will be my best proposal yet.

"You better be calling me for something worth my time because you're interrupting my fun right now." The cry of a woman in pain not pleasure before his growl of pleasure has me tightening my fist with impatience. Why can't he just take a moment to discuss business? As much as I love watching and listening to another have sex, right now I just want to get this over with. Omar's idea of pleasure and sex is not something I enjoy. It far too disturbing in my book and I have seen and done many gruesome things.

"Trust me. You're going to enjoy what I have for you."

"This sounds intriguing. Do tell."

"I have something you want. At the right price, she's yours."

"I already purchased from you at the auction. I have no need for another. I am still breaking in the one I have." Another cry of pain flows through the line.

"I believe you will be most pleased with my offer."

"Fine. I'll take a look at your offer tonight."

"No need. You have already seen her."

"Hmm. Is that so?"

"Yes. You have already made an offer. I will take your offer of ten and a year." He's quiet for a moment and I know I've hooked him. His loud guffaw echoes in my ear.

"Fine, fine. My offer still stands." His dark chuckle continues and I grin. Let him deal with her. She will see just how easy she's had it being with me and will regret ever lying to me about her true feelings. I am not second in anything, not even her heart.

"Good, good. I want one last night with her before I hand her over. Be here tomorrow early and she is yours. Permanently." I will let that sink in. Originally she was to be given for a night but it is time I cut my loses.

"Permanently? I think I like this even more. I'll be there early." He hangs up without a goodbye and I toss my phone on my bed. The deal is done, and one less thing to worry about. Sierra will be surprised to know that she will no longer be with me and there is nothing she can do about it. I will miss her but there are plenty of fish in the sea as the saying goes.

***

Walking into the kitchen to receive my lunch, Sierra sits quietly eating her sandwich at the island. My plate sits on the counter with a sandwich cut into a triangle waiting to be devoured. I will miss having her making my lunches but not enough to keep her around.

"We need to talk." Sierra finishes chewing her food and swallowing before looking to me to continue. "I know." I leave it at that for the moment as she stares at me in confusion. Her eyebrows pinch, as she seems to consider my words and figure out what it is I know. I only read her last passage but maybe there was more I missed in her other ramblings.

"What is it you know?" Her stare is unwavering, as she looks confident that I really don't know.

"First off you're carrying my child." Her eyes widen in horror as she realizes what is to come. "I will not worry about it at this time. I have a meeting and no time to deal with that issue as of right now."

"I was going to tell you. I just wanted to wait until after the meeting with your uncle. I was going to ask if you could show mercy and let me have a family with you. I know you didn't want kids and I promise if you let me have this one, the child will not be in your way. I don't want to go through what I had before. I also want this child. Our child." She pleads.

My heart tells me to believe her as it beats furiously in my chest. She wants a family. It is not just her child but ours. Then I remember she is a conniving little bitch who has been lying to me. I straighten up and give her my coldest stare. "Well I don't want kids. They are little demons and just get in the way. I will deal with this problem later." Her fear escalates as she grips the side of the island with one hand and holds her other hand over her flat stomach. She must not be that far along because as I recall she had her cycle nearly two months ago and her stomach is still flat.

"I also know you love another." Her confusion shows on her face. I wonder if she is trying to figure out how I would know that another man has caught her heart.

"I have no idea what you are talking about. I only love you." She shakes her head still seeming unsure.

"Ah, but you see, in your diary you claimed you loved another. Did you think I wouldn't have found out sooner or later? Is the baby even mine? Or is it the bastard you love?"

"I haven't been with anyone but you since you brought me back here and locked me up. The baby is yours. And how dare you read my diary. Those are my most personal and private thoughts. You promised me that my diary was mine and you wouldn't break that trust. How much have you read? Why would you even read it? Why did you break your promise?"

"My promise? I believe you gave me reason to look when you lied to me and said you loved me. My promise is moot when you have so blatantly lied to me."

"I have not lied to you."

"Who is he? I must know so I can take care of him and his disregard for what was mine." The anger boils beneath the surface. I badly want to strike but first I need to know whom it is I need to bury. I cannot have one my men getting away with this treachery. They knew she was mine and I will go through each and every one of them if she does not tell me and find the truth.

"There is nobody!" She screams as she stands facing me full on. I will not have her challenge me in such a way and lie to me. I swiftly back hand her and watch her fall to the floor clutching the side of her face and whimpering. No tears fall as she stays on the floor, probably waiting for me to strike again.

"Get the fuck up. Go back to your room. I will deal with you later. My uncle will be here shortly and once I am done speaking with him you better be ready to tell me everything."

Sierra slowly gets up still cupping her face and without a word, rushes up stairs to her room. The slamming of her door makes me even more angry. Her adolescent behavior will be punished as well as her lying and manipulation of me. I do not stand for that sort of betrayal and she has betrayed me for the last time.

"Sir, your uncle has arrived." One of my men whose name I don't know informs me. I haven't even had a chance to eat my lunch.

"Send him into my office and let him know I will be in shortly. And stand watch so he doesn't try anything. I don't need him going through my things searching for something incriminating."

"Yes sir." He walks off and I take a seat at the island with my lunch and eat. He can wait for me since he showed up early.

Once I am done with my lunch, I rinse my plate and stroll into my office with confidence. We are in my house and he cannot touch me here. He would be dead within seconds if he were to try anything. Taking a seat at my desk, I lean back and prop my feet atop of my mahogany desk and clasp my hands over my stomach. My uncle doesn't fidget once, which surprises me. I would expect a little fear but I guess he believes I won't kill him. We stare at each other waiting for the other to break the silence. I won't be the one to speak first and he seems to be fine with just sitting there quiet in the burgundy leather armchair across from me. This goes on for several minutes and I smile internally when he speaks first.

"I see you have been busy." I nod my head knowing where he is going with this. "This is much more successful then I could have hoped for. You are international now. Tell me, how have you become so large in such a small amount of time and not had anyone looking your way yet?" I see what he is trying to do but it won't work.

I shrug, "I guess I just know how to keep it quiet. I may have expanded the business in a big way but I am not stupid. We are very thorough in who we let in to this business. We check every inch of anyone coming into contact with us and every buyer has to show us current standings in all things that we check continuously and if there are any glitches then they are dealt with. I am much smarter than you are. My livelihood is not the only one at stake here. There are many in this business who would lose everything if they were to be caught. I like the throne I am on and will make sure everything is cared for appropriately in order for me to stay on top."

"You are not as smart as you think. There is much to be said about being on top and you my dear nephew, are going to be surprised when you are taken down to the bottom."

              "What do you know?"

"I know that you are not as thorough as you believe and that you are being watched. You think that nobody has their eye on you just because of the fit you threw when they searched everything you had in hopes of finding Sierra. But there is a ghost out there. I don't know who he is but I can guarantee he knows everything you've been doing. I'm sure he is waiting for the right opportunity to strike. Now if you would like some help staying undetected, I am willing to help you for the right price."

He must think I am stupid. There is nobody who has gotten past me and my men that could have anything worth using in taking this operation and me down. Everything is in code and everyone brought in or around has been thoroughly checked.

              Except two. Fuck.

I stomp my feet on the floor while sitting up and slam my hand down on my desk as I lean over and stare my uncle straight in the eyes. "Tell me who it is so I can kill the fucking bastard. Did you send those two men into my house?" My uncles smirk is grating on my nerves and I badly want to just shoot him right here, right now but I can't. I need answers and he knows it.
