“Well that sounds fun, yes eventually I would like to go. We just talked about this a couple months ago, Lila.” I said as I sipped my coffee.

“I know, but I just wanted to make sure you remembered.”

“Yes, and I would love to go to Paris with you. Maybe in a few years.”

She just laughed and started eating her BLT. This girl could put eat a pound of bacon and want more, where it goes to I have no clue, she is super thin. After we finished eating I took Lila back to the loft.

“Okay, what movie will it be tonight?” I asked as I threw some popcorn in the microwave. She plopped down on the couch and flipped through the channels and busted out laughing. “What’s so damn funny?” I asked as I walked into the living room. Then I heard it, fucking Brody had some chick in his room. Her moans was loud and fake as hell.

“Ahh, let’s go to my room, no movie tonight.” I said as I pulled Lila in the room and kiss her. She kissed me back, then I felt bad for doing it. I knew she could tell that I did.

She looked at me and said, “It’s okay, you can kiss me whenever you want, Evan.”

“Oh, I can? I’m glad you said that, because I wanted to kiss you again” I said as I pushed my lips into hers. I could feel the heat from her body on mine, I turned her around so her back fell on the bed as I pushed into her harder. I felt a moan escape her chest.

“I’m going to change, into something more comfortable. Do you want something?” I asked as I grabbed a pair of sweats from the dresser.

“Jesus Lila, your killing me.” I said laughing as I walked into the bathroom to change.

Eleven Months Later

Lila and I have been seeing each other for almost a year. She never heard from Liam, they wasn’t sure what had happened to him. They sent a letter saying he was missing along with ten other soldiers, and I felt so bad. I knew Lila still missed him, and loved him. She had been so strong about everything. We had a great summer together we went on a road trip to Pittsburg. We even went and spent time with my dad. He was doing better, I knew he missed my mom so damn bad.

“Hey love, are you ready? Our flight leaves in an hour.” Lila said as she walked out of the kitchen.

“Yep, I’m all packed. Are you ready?” We were flying to her parents for Thanksgiving, all the family was going to be there. She planned a huge shopping trip with Addison, and I was going fishing with her dad and brother. I was definitely nervous, I had a huge surprise planned for when we returned to NYC. Brody and Nikki helped me plan everything. Yes they were back together.

We rented a car and drove to the Carls’s place. I wanted to get her dad alone so I could ask him if I could marry Lila. I knew it’s kind of old fashioned but I wouldn’t feel right popping the question without his permission. Eric and Addison was already there and so was Ashton. I finally got to meet the jerk. He was actually a nice guy. His wife was a nice lady also. All the girls went to the kitchen and all of us guys went to the family room to watch TV.

“So Evan, Lila tell me you are graduating next year?” Mr. Carls said.

“Yes, Sir, I will. I already have a job at a small law firm. I have worked there on and off the last four years.”

“That’s great son, I really like the fact that you and Lila are both into law.”

“Yes, I like that too, Sir. Maybe someday she and I can open a practice together.” I said kind of hinting around. He just smiled and continued watching TV.

Dinner was great, all the ladies was going shopping and us men was going fishing, this was the day. I just hoped Lila’s dad didn’t kill me for asking to marry his daughter.

“Sir, I wanted to ask you a question.” I said to Ray.

“Of course, ask away kid.” He said

“I would like to ask Lila to marry me. Is that okay with you Sir?” I was a nervous fucking wreck, my palms were sweating, I could feel sweat beads on my forehead. He just looked at me, he didn’t say a word. He just stared. Oh fuck, he was going to throw my ass over bored.

“Well Evan, if you love her and I mean really love her, then that’s fine by me son. Welcome to the family.” He said shaking my hand. Thank you Jesus, I could have seen me floating in that water.

“Thank you Sir, that means a lot.” I said shaking his hand.

“Let’s get back to the house, see what damage those girls did with my credit cards.” He said, laughing.

We went back to the house the girls had bought so much stuff. I was tired and ready to go home. I needed to do this while I was ready. I knew Lila wasn’t ready to go but I had to work all weekend. Well, she thought I did. We said our goodbyes and flew back to NYC.

Once we landed in New York, I grabbed our bags and walked Lila to the Limo.

“Um Evan? A limo?” she asked

“Yes, come on you will see.” I said as I grabbed her hand. We got into the limo and everything was perfect; the music, the flowers, and the wine.

“Lila, I wanted to ask you a question. I know it has been a rough road and crazy one, but it has led us to here. I love you with all of my heart and I can’t see my life without you. I would be a very happy man of you would be my wife, be my forever Lila?” I said as I opened the ring box. I had worked my ass off to pay for it.

“Yes! Yes, Evan I will!! OMIGOSH…I love you so much. It is beautiful. Thank you baby.” She said as she kissed me.

“I have our entire night planned out, I hope you love it!” I said as I pulled her in for a hug.

“How did you do this?” she asked with a concerned look.

“I did have a little help.” I winked

The hotel room looked great. Audrey had come and decorated and bought Lila some new lingerie. I had to give it to Audrey, she did a fantastic job. There were pink rose pedals everywhere. She’d bought two bottles of Lila’s favorite wine and chocolate covered strawberries and marshmallows.

“Evan, this is so beautiful. I can’t believe you did all this for me.” She said with tears in her eyes.

“Hey, what are the tears for? I will do anything for you always!” I said as I wiped her tears.

I started kissing her and taking her clothes off, God I was the one lucky bastard. She was beautiful, every inch of her. I started at her neck and worked my way down, until I licked every part of her body.

“Baby, I will trust me. I want to remember this night forever. I want to savior every minute.” I was ready to be inside her, but I just wanted to touch and kiss her all night. I was just getting started.

We awoke to some pretty bad news. Lila’s friend Addison had been shot and was in critical condition. Lila was flying back home and Brody and I was going back the next day. I was so worried about Lila and I didn’t want her to go alone, but I had things at work I needed to do. I called Nikki, and she was leaving Ohio to go be with Lila.

I went to work and did everything I had to do and flew back to California. When I got there for some reason Lila thought I was Liam. I wasn’t sure if she was dreaming or what was going on.
