Queen
had just finished sign out rounds with the other Residents when her personal cell rang.  It was Teddy.

“
Hey Teddy Bear.  What you doing?” She coyly asked.

“
Missing you.  Happy anniversary.”

“
Ah, you remembered.  Happy anniversary.”

“
Remembered?  I haven't thought about nothing else all damn day.  Where are you?” He asked.

“
At the hospital as usual. I don’t even know why you asked.” Queen laughed.

“
I don’t know either. So, what time are you going home?  And please don't tell me that you are on call tonight.”

“
No, I’m not on call. I'll probably be home by seven.  Why?”

“
I got a big surprise for you.  So go straight home.”

“
What is it?”

“
It's a surprise like I said.  Just be there at seven.”

“
Why?  Is it time sensitive?”

“
Extremely, so don't be late.  And call me the moment you get out front.”

“
Why? Just tell me what it is, Bear.”

“
Baby… Listen to me just be home by seven. Trust me. You’re going to love your surprise.”

“
Alright I’ll be there.”

Queen
arrived home at ten minutes to seven.  True to her word she calls Teddy’s cell as she arrives.

“
Hello Mye Queen.  Are you home yet?”

“
Yeah, but I got to call you back.  Something is wrong.

“
What?”

“
I don't know.  The damn house is lit up like a Christmas tree. I know that I didn’t leave all those damn lights on. I think somebody's in there.”

“
Well, don't hang up.  Keep me on the line while you check it out, just in case I have to be a witness.”

“
Whatever…  You know what, that's probably a good idea.”  Queen conceded as she approaches the front door to find it cracked open.  “Bear the fuckin front door is open. Oh my God! What should I do?”

“
You’re the one that brags about being a Kick Boxer. Go in and handle your shit girl.”

“
What the fuck ever. I'm not trying to walk in on a home invasion and get shot in my chest and shit.”

“
I’m just kidding. Look just peek in and see what’s going on. The maid probably didn't lock the place up properly. It’s probably nothing.”

“
You're
right. This is her day to clean. Wait until I see her stupid ass. Leaving my house open and shit.” Angry, Queen continues up the sidewalk to the front entrance. Still not one hundred percent convince that the scenario is completely harmless she cautiously pushes the door open with her foot to find Teddy standing there with two dozen long stem, white roses.  She throws her phone down and quickly runs and jumps in his arms.  Teddy drops the flowers as she leaps in his arms. He grabs her by the ass as he sticks his tongue deep in her throat. They kiss passionately.

“
Oh, my God!  I can't believe you're actually here.” She squealed. “Why didn't tell me that you  were coming?”

“
I can't believe you didn't badger me to come.”  Teddy laughed as Queen plants wet kisses all over his face.

“
I didn't want to be disappointed again, so I didn't say anything. Look how good you look.  God I'm so glad to see you.”

“
I can't wait to taste you.  Let's go upstairs.”  Teddy moaned as he kisses Queen hard and begins to strip her clothes off. He instantly becomes stiff and he wants Queen now. “Fuck the bed. The couch will work.” Teddy declared as he carried Queen to the living room.

“
Look, lockup the house and meet me upstairs in ten minutes.  Give me a chance to get in the shower and get pretty for you. Okay?”

“
You look prettier than anything I've seen in a very long time. I missed you so damn much.”  Teddy said as he kisses Queen again before setting her free. 

Queen
runs up the steps to shower, stripping her clothes off along the way. Teddy couldn’t wait any longer he locks up and joins her in the shower moments later. The hot water felt good as it rained down on Queen’s naked body.  But nothing felt as good as Teddy’s tongue as he licked the sweet nectar between her wet thighs.

Teddy
didn’t have a clue how happy Queen was to see him. She needed his body like she needed oxygen. It had been months since she felt his hardness inside her. Actually, anybodies hardness for that matter. Since she had to cut Logic off and Teddy had been a no show last month Queen was as horny as the Philharmonic Brass Orchestra. Of course spending all those sexless, nights with Christian did not make it any easier on her. She lost count of the number of times that she wanted to slip in bed with him and ravish him like a horny two dollar whore. Little did she know that Christian had the same idea.

As
her thoughts wandered off to Christian, Teddy intensified his efforts to bring her to completion. Licking and sucking her swollen clit, he devoured her like she was his last meal. Moments later Queen screamed in ecstasy and completely forgot that Christian or any other man on the planet existed. Teddy quickly entered her and their hot, slippery bodies melted into one as they rode in on an enormous wave of passion and joy.  They made love throughout the night as if the sun would never rise again. And Queen was satisfied and loved, and she knew that Teddy was her man no matter what happens in Los Angeles.

The
next morning Queen is at the nursing station in the Women’s Health Center reviewing a patient’s chart when Christian arrives on the unit. She was up all night screwing and she was finding it difficult to concentrate.  The large cup of coffee in front of her and her frequent yawning indicated to Christian that she had had a very long night.  Jealous and frankly fed up, he hesitated before speaking.

“
Rough night, Dr. Queen?”

“
Good morning Dr. Love.”

“
What's with all the yawning and the super size coffee?”

“
Tell me our busy body friends did not tell you.”

“
Tell me what?”

“
They didn't tell you that Bear came home last night? He'll be here until Monday night.”

“
Wouldn't that be your job?” Christian snapped.

“
What's up with your tone?  Are you upset with me?”

“
Why?  Should I be?”

“
Okay, I get it.  Can we go somewhere and talk?”

“
I've got five consults and I have to review ten charts before noon.”

“
I'm busy too, but we need to talk, preferably in private.” Queen insisted. 

Annoyed, Christian slams the chart back in the rack and heads for the Doctor's Lounge. “Okay, let's go then.” He snorted.

They walk briskly to the doctor's lounge in total silence.  Queen could hardly keep up with Christian.  She could see his jaws tighten and she immediately knew that he was fuckin pissed.  As they entered the empty Doctor's lounge, Christian abruptly stops and turns to face Queen.

“
Okay Dr. Queen, what do you want to talk about?”

“
How about your attitude? Let’s start there.”

“
What about it?”

“
Where the hell did it come from?  Yesterday we were cool and today you're so mad your teeth are grinding?”

“
Look Queen, I don't know how to do this anymore.”

“
Do what Christian?”

“
Pretend that this shit hasn't twisted me up.”

“
Are you talking about Bear being home?”

“
Yeah, that and everything that it entails and implies.”

“
So, you're pissed because I had sex with Bear?”

“
Yeah, basically.”

“
Christian, you knew that Bear and I are lovers.  Why is this bothering you now?”

“
Queen, you know why.  You know I'm feeling you.  Hell, for the past couple of months you've been more my girl then his.”

“
Christian, I'm not going to pretend that I didn't know how you feel.”

“
Do you Queen? Because I don’t think you do.”

Queen
ignores the question. “Nor am I going to pretend that I don't have feelings for you too.  But you know my situation.”

“
Yeah I know your situation, but somehow I thought that maybe, just maybe it was subject to change.”

“
Look, I've had more fun with you in the past few months then I've had in years.  But none of this changes the fact that I'm still with Bear.”

“
Really, because except for the fact that we've never had sex, we've been dating for months now.  You know it and I know.  So what the fucks up?”

“
Christian, I didn't do any of this to hurt you.  We've been having a lot of fun hanging out.  I have feelings for you too, but I'm still Bear's girl.”

“
Who isn't? Huh, Queen. Who the fuck isn’t?”

“
Christian that's not fair.  I didn't deserve that.” Queen responds, a little hurt by the accusation.

“
Maybe not, but I can't stand here and let you act like you two are the perfect fuckin couple.  When the fact is I'm more faithful to you than he's ever been or ever will be.”

“
Look I don't expect you to understand, how I feel or why I feel the way I do about Bear. But the truth of the matter is that I got a lot invested in this relationship.  And believe it or not he's actually been playing within the lines.”

“
Queen, nothing you've said leads me to believe that our relationship is going any further than it already has.  So, I'm going to ask you straight- I want you to be my woman.  Are you in or out?”

“
Christian, it's not that easy, and you know it.”

“
It is if you want to be with me. Are you fuckin in or out?”

“
Christian don't ask me to choose between you and Bear.”

“
I can't do this anymore. Fuck it! You just answered my fuckin question.”

“
You can't do what? Huh Christian, what? You can't be my friend anymore? What can't you do?”

“
Pretend that I'm not in love with you.  Tonight, I'm hanging out with my best friend and I can't talk about my girl.  Why?  Because my girl is really his girl.”

“
Christian…”

“
Let me finish.  So you know what I'm going to tell him?  I'm going to tell him the truth.  Do you know what that is?”

“
Christian…  Please?”

“
The truth is that I broke up with my girl earlier today because she cheated on me with her fuckin boyfriend.  We're done Queen.  Whatever we had is over.  Cause I'm not going to stick around, tripping over you while you trip over this nigga that fucks everything that moves except you!  I'm out.”

“
So, that's how it's going to be.  We're not even going to be friends?”

“
Fuck friends! They're over rated. I got enough damn friends.  What I want is a girlfriend.  Call me when you're ready for that. Okay?” 

Christian
storms out of the Doctor's lounge.  Queen remains, dazed confused and near tears.  Devastated, she calls Jade.  Jade answers.

“
Hey what's up girl?  Where are you?”

“
I'm at work.”

“
I thought you'd be home on slick leave, cuddling up with your Teddy Bear.” 

Queen
is silent.  She wipes the tears from her face and tries to compose herself. “No, I had to come to work to discharge a couple of patients.”

“
Queen are you okay? You sign strange.”

“
No. I’m afraid I’m not.”

“
Are you crying?  What's wrong?”

“
Christian just broke up with me.”

“
What did you say?  Cause it sounded like you said Christian broke up with you.  You mean Teddy? Did that bastard dump you on your anniversary. Wait to I catch up with his insensitive bitch ass.”

“
No, I said Christian.”

“
Christian? Queen, that's not even possible, because you and Christian were never really together.  So why are you crying like your man, Teddy, just left you?”

“
Jade you know that I have feelings for Christian.  But I can't choose between him and Bear, at least not right now.”

“
Is that what he wants you to do?  Queen, what exactly did he say?”

“
He was upset because I slept with Bear.  And he told me that he was in love with me and I had to choose whether I was in or out.  I told him it wasn't that easy and then he just said he was out.  So I asked if we could still be friends.”  Queen's voice wavers and fades as she loses her composure.

“
Queen don’t cry. What did he say?”

“
He said he had enough fuckin friends.”

“
Oh, really?  So that's what he said? Well he just lost another. I'm going to fuck his shit up when I catch up with him.  Look Queen I got to call you back.  Just stay where you are.”

Jade
hangs up the phone. She is pissed. She quickly calls Christian.  To her surprise Christian answers.

“
Dr. Love.  Can I help you?”

“
Seems to me you should be called Dr. Hater.  Christian what did you say to Queen?  She's on the phone crying, talking about you broke up with her.”

“
Stay out of it Jade.  This doesn't concern you.”

“
How the hell do you figure that?  Everything that concerns Queen concerns me.  So unless you want me to come down to that hospital and get all Baby Mama with Super Stupid Drama on your ass in that fancy new office of yours you'd better find Queen and apologize.  And for the record you don't have that many fuckin friends that you can throw one away. Especially not one that cares about you like Queen.  Look, I know you love her.  I can see it in your eyes.  And I know she's falling for you too.  But you know she has issues with shit like this.  In fact you knew she was with Teddy before all this shit even got started.”

“
That's not true. I fell in love with her the second our eyes met. I didn't know she was involved with Teddy.”

“
Look all I'm saying is cut her a damn break.  If she wasn't falling in love with you she wouldn't be so damn upset. She'll figure out who she wants to be with in due time. You can't force her to choose. Believe me, bigger men then you have tried that bullshit and failed.  So if you really love her I suggest you apologize.”

“
Jade I'm as fucked up about this shit as Queen is. I didn’t even know that it would fuck with me like this.  You're right.  I handled it all wrong.  I just couldn't deal with thought of him fuckin touching her and I can't.  I'll go talk to her.”

“
You'd better, else I'll be down there in fifteen minutes and you can believe that it won't be pretty.”

“
I'm on my way.”

After
Christian hung up from talking to Jade he headed straight back towards the Doctor’s lounge. He wasn’t sure what he was going to say to Queen. He knew he had over reacted and attacked her without just cause. She had been nothing but up front with him from the second he met her. She didn’t promise him anything except her friendship and he just rejected that. He could only hope that she would forgive him.

When
he entered the lounge he found Queen slumped in a chair with her head down.  He cautiously approached her and put his hands on her shoulder. It was apparent that she was shaken to the core and that she had been crying.

“
Queen, please don’t cry. I'm sorry for the way I acted.  I said some things that I shouldn't have said.  I didn't mean to hurt you.  I was messed up and I let my jealousy and my anger speak for me.  I don't really want to end our friendship.  It's too important to me.  Will you forgive me?”

“
Jade called you didn't she?” Queen responded as she wiped fresh tears from her eyes. 

Christian
laughed as he sit next to Queen on the arm of the chair. “You know she did.  Cussed my ass out and threaten to come down here and go Super Baby Mama Drama on my ass.”

“
That sounds like Jade.  And don't think she won't borrow some kids and do it too.  Their laughter instantly breaks the uneasiness in the air.”

“
Jade don't play.  Dorian's in a lot of trouble.”

“
He's use to it, he'll be alright.”

“
So, are we going to be alright? Queen, I'm sorry.  I was wrong.  I knew this was an uphill run.  I lost my head and got ahead of myself.  I need you to be my friend.  Can we start over?”

“
No, but we can start were we stopped.  I've never met a man like you.  I don't want to lose what we have.  I know that it's not much, but right now it's all that I have to give. One day I may feel different, but right this second...”

“
I'm not going anywhere Queen.  Take all the time you need.  Just one question, when is that nigga going back to Los Angeles? I missed the hell out of you last night. I could hardly sleep for thinking about you.” 

They
laugh and Christian seizes the opportunity to hug Queen.

“
You know you're wrong, that’s your friend.”

“
Maybe, but at least I'm honest.”

Queen
smiled. “Then let me be honest, I missed you too.”
