Chapter 17

Sally entered the Detroit VC Office. VC stood for Vampire Court. The actual Council resided in Europe but they had offices all over the world to keep order. Without the council, Vampires would be killing humans without a second thought. It was about 8:00 pm. She approached the reception desk, noticing immediately the receptionist was a human. The carpet was blood red and the walls black. How cliché.

“I am Sally Persian. I am here to see Malice O’Connor, and I have an appointment.”

“Of course, Miss Persian. Yes, here it is,” said the receptionist as she searched through the computer. She made a call on the phone, nodded, then hung up.

“Mr. O’Connor will see you now, Miss Persian.” She pointed down the hall. “Third door on the left.” As Sally walked down the hall, she noticed several very old photos. They each had dates beside them and she assumed they were the council members.

Sally knocked on the door marked Malice O’Connor, Head VC Officer.

“Come in, Come in.”

Sally entered the office, immediately shocked to see not a Vampire but a Werewolf, and a fucking hot Werewolf at that.

“Are you Malice O’Connor?” Sally asked as she made a face.

“Call me Connor. You seem rather shocked.”

“Honestly, I didn’t expect one of your kind.”

“I have a special skill set that comes in handy from time to time.”

Connor let out a big laugh. He wasn’t at all what Sally expected. He was just a little taller than she, a little over six feet, and very muscular with short auburn hair and green eyes. He had a square jaw that reminded her of her father. She couldn’t help but admire him. He was very good looking, and it had been a while since she had been with a man. Werewolf or not, she was attracted to him. He offered her a seat and sat down at his desk.

“Well, what can I do to help you, Sweetheart?”

A scowl appeared on Sally’s face. “I am nobody’s sweetheart, especially yours. I need to report a rogue Vampire.”

“Sweet—Um, Sally, what is the name of the Rogue?”

“Maurice Devane”

“Okay. Made date?”

“France, 1634”

“What crimes has he committed?”

“Well, none that we can prove. He feeds from the unwilling, and I suspect he kills, and is a danger to my progeny.”

“Did the mother Hecate or the council order a death warrant?”

Hecate was the mother of all Vampires, said to have been the first Vampire. Sally doubted she even existed; nobody she knew had ever met the so-called mother Hecate.

“No; I was unable to get an audience with either of them.”

“I’m sorry, but my hands are tied, and until he breaks one of our laws I am unable to recommend execution.”

“I cannot ignore him. He is a killer.”

“Unfortunately, the council frowns upon executing vampires without solid proof.”

“What kind of proof?” she asked defiantly.

“A witness of some kind, or a body linking him to a crime. I know it's difficult when dealing with rogues, but all we can do is wait for him to slip. Here is what I can do. I will give you my personal cell in case he tries anything and I will request he come to the office for questioning.”

Sally looked defeated but she understood the position of the council, and appreciated the help the werewolf offered. “Thank you, but I fear this won’t be enough; I will be in contact.” Sally walked out of the office and as she left she swore she could sense Connor watching her.

Javon brought Abby to his house with the pretense that he needed to grab a few things, but he secretly hoped he could talk her into staying the night.

Sally entered the house right after Javon. She slammed the door, looking pissed. Sally was naturally a happy person, so it was easy tell she was upset and he was concerned. Javon whispered to Abby, giving her directions to the library. She nodded and left them alone.

“Sally, what happened?”

“I just left the VC Office.”

“That bad?” Javon asked. He already knew the answer. He had previous dealings with the council and they always resulted in him wanting to tear his hair out.

“They won’t do anything about Maurice without more proof,” she said angrily. “He would practically have to kill someone in from of that idiot Connor to get arrested.”

“Maurice won’t make things easy; of course there isn’t proof. He’s too smart for that. I will take care of him myself,” Javon yelled.

“Javon, please no. He is crazy and dangerous,” Sally pleaded. “If anything happened to you, my life would be over.”

“He needs to be dealt with immediately. Eventually, Abby will want some space. I can't keep her by my side twenty-four hours a day.”

“Javon, have you considered telling her? It would be easier to protect her if she knew.”

“I can't. I need more time. If I tell her now, she'll think I'm crazy and never want to see me again.” Javon had always been so confident, but Abby did something to him. She made him question things, afraid that she would leave at any moment, and he couldn’t stand the thought of that.

“If she sees something she shouldn’t, she will definitely run; tell her soon before it's too late.” Sally had now calmed down, and gave him a playful smack on the head.

Sally unconsciously picked up an old photo off the table. It was of herself and Enri in France. She stared at it for a moment, possibly wondering what could have been.

Javon decided that Sally was right, but he just needed a little bit more time. A couple more days and he would tell her. He just needed a little more time for her to trust him and maybe she would love him. If she was in love with him, it would be harder for her to just leave.

Chapter 18

“Abby,” Javon called out as he entered the Library. She was stretched out on the couch with a book—an old first edition romance from the sixteenth century. He thought she looked like she was meant to be in that room and in his life. He decided not to tell her. It was information worth a quarter-million dollars. She looked at the book intently. Javon decided he could just stand there and stare at her all day. She was so beautiful, sweet, sexy, and at that moment he knew he loved her and she was meant to be his eternal mate.

Abby looked up and closed the book. “Is everything alright? I heard shouting.”

“Just family stuff,” he replied.

“I understand. My brother, Ray, and I used to fight like crazy. Mom wasn’t around much so he thought that made him the boss of me.”

“I have a feeling you set him straight.”

“Yes, but it didn’t stop him from trying.”

***

Abby thought how great it would be to have these moments every day. She always dreamed of having a man who would love her and always be there for her. She decided to just push those thoughts away. She should just enjoy it and not think of a future that may never happen.

Javon sat on the love seat next to her and took her into his arms. She laid her head onto his chest; he was so comfortable, she knew she could fall asleep right there. She closed her eyes and soon enough she did indeed fell asleep in his arms. Javon, exhausted from the day, followed her into sleep.

Abby awoke in a darkened room. She tried to see the room but it was too dark. She got up and fumbled around, finally finding a small dim lamp. Javon was still asleep, but she thought this would be the perfect opportunity to give him a little of what she received earlier at the museum. She straddled his lap and kissed his neck; he moaned slightly but he still slept. She decided she needed to be a bit more aggressive to wake him and get his attention. She ground her hips into him, his cock immediately responding. She could see the rock hard bulge. She licked his neck, sucking it gently.

***

Javon awoke to find Abby sucking his neck and grinding into him. He kissed her, tasting her with his tongue.

“This is a grand way to wake up, Beautiful.”

“I couldn't help myself. I need you,” Abby said.

She continued kissing him and moving her body into him. Javon took her shirt and lifted it over her head. She had on a plain white bra. It wasn't anything special, but her breasts looked perfect in it. Abby reached behind her, unclasping the bra and revealing her plump perky breasts. Javon took a nipple into his mouth, sucking and teasing. Abby moaned and then pushed him back into the couch. She impatiently started ripping open his jeans.

Javon watched as Abby got on her knees in from of him. She stroked his cock through his jeans; he moaned at the sensation. She unzipped his pants and his cock sprang free, hard and ready. She stroked the velvety skin as Javon leaned back with his eyes closed, enjoying the sensation.
Oh my fucking god.
Abby licked the length of him, and then took the head of it in her mouth. She sucked him, slowly taking the rest in her mouth. Javon sat up, stroking the back of her head as her mouth moved up and down his cock. Javon moaned loudly as he came in her mouth. Abby drank down his salty liquid; licking her lips as she came off her knees.

Chapter 19

Brian sat outside a Polish restaurant, watching. The woman who he now knew as Abby sat with Javon, eating and laughing. She seemed to be having a good time on her date. Brian scowled to himself; this would complicate things if he couldn’t grab her soon.

After the last altercation with Abby, he realized she was a handful and that he would need a little help. He managed to get a sedative from a nurse at the hospital; all he had to do was jab her with the needle and nighty, night. Hopefully, after all was said and done, he could be turned and never have to see that bastard, Maurice, again.

Brian heard his phone ring and quickly picked it up. “Hello?” he said as he answered the phone.

“Brian, it’s Lizzy. How are you feeling?”

“I’m a lot better. I can’t talk; Maurice has me on a job for him.”

“What kind of job?”

“The kind I can’t talk about. I'm fine now, so you can stop calling.”

“Brian, listen to me: whatever he has you doing for him, remember it’s not worth losing yourself. I think we should meet up later. Just to talk or something,” Lizzy pleaded.

“Lizzy, my life is very complicated. You don’t want to get mixed up in my problems.”

“I’m not going away. Call me when you’re done. I’ll be up late.”

Brian hung up the phone and smiled to himself before he realized what he was doing and quickly stopped. What was he thinking? He couldn't be involved with anyone; it just wouldn't work. He liked Lizzy, but all she would do is drag him down and he couldn’t allow that. He had one goal—to become a Vampire—and if he couldn’t do that, everything he had done would be for nothing.

***

Abby sat at dinner with Javon. She was starving after making love in the library. She imagined what it would be like to make love in other rooms in the house, perhaps the pool room. That would be something she could ask him after dinner.

Javon made a growling sound. He wasn't an old enough vampire to read thoughts, but he could get a general sense of Abby's feelings and she wanted him again.

“Abby, I know what you’re thinking.”

A blush rose to Abby’s face. “I doubt that,” she responded, trying to sound confident although she felt like he knew every dirty thing that was going on in her head.

“You’re thinking that things went a little too quickly and you regret it.”

Abby looked at Javon and her face softened. She took his hand from across the table. “Not for a second; and I hope to have a repeat performance soon.” Abby smiled. She tried distracting herself with the menu in front of her. It was a Polish restaurant and everything looked good. Her grandparents, who had been Polish, had holiday dinners when she was young. It had been a long time since she had anything like it.

***

The waitress came by and they both placed their order. Abby ordered the cabbage rolls and Javon ordered the Kielbasa with sauerkraut.

After the waitress left, Javon was making himself crazy by wondering how to tell her the truth. He couldn't go any further in this relationship until he knew she would accept him, fangs and all.

“After dinner, I have something I want to discuss with you.”

“Should I be worried?” Abby said. She was likely wondering if he was ready to end things already. “Look, if you want to end things just say so. I'm not an idiot!”

“Abby, stop right now. It's nothing like that. I want to talk about moving forward. I want to discuss our future together.”

Abby turned red. She felt like a total idiot for over reacting. “I'm sorry,” Abby said apologetically.

“It's forgotten. Let’s finish our date and then we can talk.” Abby was relieved Javon wasn't too upset at her little outburst.

“Oh this looks great; I’m starving.” As soon as it arrived, Abby began quickly eating her food. She looked up and saw Javon watching her eat, and immediately slowed down. “Sorry, I’m really hungry.”

“Don’t apologize. I love a woman with a healthy appetite. Eat up. You will need your energy for later.”

***

Abby walked into the restroom to freshen up. She ate way too much food but didn't really care. She walked into the stall to do her business. The door opened and someone entered the stall next to her. She finished and walked out of the stall. She grabbed her lipstick from her purse and began to reapply the lipstick and a little pressed powder. She was digging in her purse, looking for a comb to try and tame her crazy wavy hair, and wasn't paying much attention when a needle went into her neck, causing pain, and then darkness overtook her.

***

Javon sat at the table. He was beginning to worry; it had been a long time since Abby left to use the restroom. Javon looked around and waved down the waitress. He asked the waitress to go check on Abby in the restroom.

Javon waited outside the bathroom for the waitress to come out. “Sorry, Hun, nobody inside; she must have left.”

Javon ran back to the table, paid the tab, and ran outside. His worst fear had come to fruition: Abby had been taken. He felt like his heart had been ripped from his chest. Abby was his life now and Maurice would pay for this. His phone rang suddenly.

“Hello?”

“Javon, it’s me, Sally. I sense you are in distress. What happened?”

“He did it. He took her.” Javon was pacing around outside the restaurant, feeling helpless and not knowing what to do.

“That bastard. I will call Connor at the VC Office. Perhaps this will be enough. In the meantime, I will get in touch with Enri. He may know some people who can help us get her back. Don’t worry, Javon; I will take care of everything.”
