I'm
glad you're still here. I thought you just told me you'll be here
because I was crying,” she said looking down.

What?
Oh no.. I would never lie to you.”

So
you will truly stay here with us? You won't return to Tyler?”
She asked.

For a moment, I looked
stunned at her. She knew about Tyler?

No
honey, it's your father I love.”

Great,”
she said with a grin.

I smiled. “Do you want
to eat something. I have prepared breakfast.”

Yes
please I'm really hungry.”

She followed me into the
kitchen, and we had breakfast together. It was nice passing time with
her. We talked a lot; we played some board games and then she came
with me in the wash-room while I did the laundry. It was incredible
how much we got along well. David had not called yet, I was so
worried. I hoped things with Ms Jacobs had gone well. I kept glancing
at the clock, hoping he would call soon, but he didn’t. At
midday, I heard the door opening and I looked surprised at Kylie.

Dad?”
she asked me.

At
this time.. Oh no.”

I stood up and ran to the
entrance, and I saw David. I felt my knees buckling, had he lost his
job? Had Ms Jacobs fired him? I looked up at him, and he smiled at
me.

David?
What happened?”I asked concerned.

Nothing,
can't I just come and see my two girls during break?”He said
putting his briefcase down. Then he walked towards me and pushed me
into his arms and hugged me.

How
much I missed you today in class?” He whispered kissing my
neck.

David
what's going on? Did Ms Jacobs fire you?”

Oh
no... no it's all right, I have spoken to her.”

And...”

Well,
she wasn't happy obviously that I didn't tell her before but she said
that since you are a grown up adult it's not that bad. You have to
change class though, I can't keep teaching you and no one should know
that we have a relationship. Ms Jacobs said that it's still against
the law of the college, but she thinks that  our situation is
different.”

Why
different?”

He didn't answer. Instead,
he kissed my neck again and my chin before kissing my lips. I pushed
him back a little.

 “
And
Claire?”

Well,
we have to hope that she shuts her mouth. Today she was absent so I
don't know what she'll do.”

Oh
David, I'm so relieved that you didn't lose your job.” I
pressed myself into him and felt better. I had missed him as well and
the English lesson was not going to be the same without him.

Yes
me too.”

Dad!!!!”

Hey
sweetie, how are you feeling? I've come to see you, but I'll soon
have to return to school for the last two lessons.”

I'm
fine Daddy really. Now that there is mum with us, everything will be
fine.” She said hugging him. I looked at them and smiled. I
felt so happy to be part of this family. I couldn't wait to become
Mrs Bayne. To be David's wife, to be a real mum to Kylie and to have
a baby with him. We went in the kitchen and as I prepared something
to eat for David, I looked at them while they chatted. He glanced at
me and smiled. As I looked at him, I knew that I had taken the right
decision. Yes, that this was the life I wanted for me. Being there
with him and his daughter. Before he left for school, he kissed me
and hugged me tight to him. He whispered in my ear how much he wanted
to be alone with me and that he couldn't wait for the night to arrive
and that this time Kylie had to sleep on her own because he wanted me
in his bed. I smiled and whispered that I couldn't wait for that too.

After three days, Kylie was
ready to go to school. She was right-handed, and she had broken her
left arm so she could write. We took her to school and then headed to
college. David stopped the car a little far from college so that no
one would see us coming in together. Although I was pretty sure that
everyone was going to know soon about us. Claire was going to make
sure that everyone did.  I met Lexie as soon as I got in. She
was very happy to see me. We chatted, and she told me the last
gossip. She got very sad when I told her that I wasn't going to be
with her in class during English but was very happy that we had
defeated Claire.

She
took it very badly,” she had said laughing. “She hasn't
come to school in the past t hree days.”

Well,
I guess she was really in love with David, and I don't blame her, he
is wonderful.” I said smiling.

Oh Cassidy I envy
you, you're so in love.

Yes..I
can't wait to marry him and start a family with him. I never thought
I would love someone like this. He's my other part, the better one.
He's my life Lexie.”

Lexie smiled.

I'm
glad, hope everything will go fine for you and I hope you'll invite
me for your wedding.”

Of
course,” and we had both laughed.

Mr Williams was my new
teacher for English. He was a good teacher, strict and very
demanding, but he was nice. I missed David, but I preferred having
him as a lover, than as a teacher.

That day after school I was
supposed to return to work. I felt nervous; I wasn't ready to see
Tyler after the way I had left him, but I couldn't keep avoiding him
forever. I had returned home with David, prepared something to eat
and dined with him and Kylie before kissing them goodbye to go to
work. Anxiety washed over me as I drove towards the hotel. When I
arrived near the office, my heart was pounding heavily in my chest. I
had to calm down.

Hello
Cassidy.”

I looked up to see Mary
standing behind me.

Oh
hello Mary how are you?” I said, smiling at the receptionist.

I'm
fine thank you. Erm Cassidy, Mr Spencer is not here.” She
informed me.

I sighed with relief. “No?”

Well,
he's abroad I think. But there is his father in his office instead.”

Oh..
OK thank you.”I said heading to Tyler's office. As soon as I
opened the door I saw Edward sitting behind Tyler's desk.

Hello
Edward.”

Oh
Cassidy, are you OK? How's Kylie?”he asked looking up at me.

Oh,
she's fine, recovering.” I said nervously.“Tyler?”

He's
on holiday.”

Oh,
I see.”

He
needed it. He needed to stay away from here for a while....To stay
away from you,”he said gazing at me. His tone was harsh, he
seemed angry with me.

I gazed at him in silence
and for a moment I didn't know what to say. He continued.

He
didn't take it well Cassidy. He's destroyed. He can't come to terms
with the fact he lost you. So I told him to go and take a holiday.”

My heart sank.

I'm
sorry.” I murmured.

Well,
don't be. It's better like this than staying with him and loving
someone else don't you think?”He said sharply. I felt bad. I
couldn't stand the way he was looking at me.

I'll
go and start my work,” I said in a low voice and without
glancing at him again I hurried to my office.

OK.
If you'll need something I'm here.” He shouted.

Edward..”

Yes..”

When
will Tyler come back?”

I
don't know. When he's ready to face you, I think.”

CHAPTER 40

The next two weeks were the
most beautiful of my life. Yes, my life finally seemed to be perfect.
My love for David kept growing if that was even possible. Twice a
week mum kept Kylie so that we could pass some time together, either
to go out for dinner or to go to the cinema or else just to be alone,
at home loving each other. Sometimes David played the piano for me. I
sat on a chair watching him, watching his beautiful hands while they
moved gracefully. Sometimes I sat on his lap hugging him, burying my
head in his neck while he played. I closed my eyes and let myself go.
The music took me away in another world. A world of love. The world
that belong to David and I.

At school everything was
fine; Claire had disappeared, she hadn't come back to school after
the contest. Maybe she was sick I thought or maybe she just didn't
want to see us for some time.

It was five o'clock when I
left David's house to go to work. I had kissed my man goodbye and
left. When I arrived at work, my heart missed a beat. In the parking,
there was Tyler's Ferrari. He was back. I parked the car in the
parking and then I proceeded to the hotel. My knees felt week as I
entered the building and pressed the lift's button. My heart beat
increased as the lift went up. I had to calm myself down. I had done
nothing wrong; he couldn't force me to love him could he? I went to
the office; Mary wasn't in her place. I opened the door, and the
office was empty, he wasn't there. I sighed in relief and went in. I
sat down behind my desk and switched on my computer and started my
work.

Tyler's POV

I looked at my watch; it was
nearly 5.30 probably she was already in the office. I didn't know if
I had the courage to go there and face her. Maybe it was better if I
stayed at the bar drinking my juice. I looked at my drink and felt
the urge to order a Whiskey. I needed a drink badly; it had taken all
my will not to fall again in the same vice. Finally, I decided, I
couldn't keep everything inside. I put the glass down. And left the
restaurant. I walked along the corridor until I arrived at the lift.
I pressed the button and stepped in. I had to keep calm; I had to be
reasonable... Hell.. how could I ever do that? When all I could see
in my mind was David fucking my wife? I shook my head trying to stop
my brain from thinking, trying to gain control of myself. The lift
opened. I stepped out and looked at the office; the door was open;
she was inside. I walked slowly in. Then I stopped a moment to catch
breath. I exhaled hoping that breathing in and out would calm my
nerves. I walked slowly towards her office and stopped at the door
which wasn't closed. She looked up at me. She seemed nervous; her
face got a little pale as she stared at me.

Hello.”
I said quietly.

Hello
Tyler, you're back.”

Yes
it seems I am,” I said drily

She kept looking at me in
silence. She seemed uncomfortable; she couldn't even look in my
eyes.

You
have a nice tan. Where did you go?” she asked weakly.

To
Jamaica.” I replied, my eyes never leaving her face.

Oh,
it must be a beautiful country,” she averting my gaze.

Yes
it is. But not when you travel alone.”

Silence again.. all of this
was killing me.

Listen
Tyler,” she said then trying to find the courage. She stood up
and leaned against the desk. I could see her hands trembling while
she kept moving her hair away from her face nervously.

I'm
sorry. I didn't want to hurt you. I know... I have left you badly
and….”

Left
me badly? You didn't want to hurt me? Hell Cassidy don't you listen
to yourself speaking!” I snapped. I felt something twisting my
gut.
