With a quick, happy smile he lifted her off his lap and stood. His hands went to the belt on his pants, but his smiling eyes remained on Casey’s flushed face. She stayed close to him, waiting, anxious to be united with him. She had never felt so wild and free. He let his shirt fall to the floor and then his trousers. When, at last, he stood in his white jockey shorts, Casey wrapped her arms about him and plunged her hands into the elastic top. She slid her palms over his taut buttocks, down through the legs to the backs of his thighs.
“No Aunt Bea to come in today,” he whispered huskily.
She laughed happily against his chest. “I wanted to do this the other night when you came to my room. I love the feel of your skin and your chest hair against my breast.”
“I love the feel of you, too,” he rasped in an agonized masculine need. “Make love to
me
, darling.”
Casey sank to the floor, pulled Dan down beside her, and slid her body over his. She looked into his eyes with a lifetime of love and longing in hers.
“I love you … with all my heart. My life was going
to be so damned lousy without you. I’ll never let you go, now. I’ll fight all the Claudia Wellses in the world to keep you with me.” Her whispered words came against his lips. She lifted her head and smiled happily down at him, and then settled her mouth on his for a long tender kiss.
His reaction almost startled her. He rolled over with her in his arms and raised his head so he could see her face. She had never hoped to see such love in a man’s eyes when they looked at her. She felt truly loved and cherished.
“I love you. I think it would destroy me if I couldn’t have you with me. I love everything about you … your pride, your honesty, your lovely spirit, your golden eyes I’m going to look into when our bodies join. I love each one of the places on your body that has caused you pain.” His lips nuzzled the ear that he hadn’t dared to touch before and the breast she had kept hidden from him. He worshipped every inch of her body with his fingertips and his lips.
It was all so much sweeter than before. Casey lay with lids half closed while the stroking of his hands on her skin sent waves of pleasure up and down her spine. He was a gentle, unhurried lover and she welcomed him, now. Welcomed the hard insistent pressure, the flat muscled stomach hard against her softness, welcomed his intrusion into her body with eyes wide, looking into the dark depths of his. She heard the low murmur of love words before he covered
her mouth with his, and then she was beyond hearing, beyond everything, except feeling.
The sun crept across the carpet and slanted across their entwined bodies. Dan propped himself up on an elbow and looked down at her with a face full of love. Her arms encircled him and her hands caressed the smooth skin of his back.
“I was so scared … at the airport. I hurt so much, I almost wished I didn’t love you so desperately.” Her lips moved over his face remembering.
“I was scared, too. I just knew I couldn’t let that plane fly me away from you. The poor fool was so strung out he would have gone crazy before we got to Cuba. I was scared, but I was just as scared when I couldn’t find you after Fred said you were there.” He nipped her on the neck sharply with his teeth. His hands moved to her ribs and he began to tickle her. “You silly, crazy, dopey, ridiculous little jerk! How could you think I could possibly prefer that phony, dressed-up, publicity-seeking movie star to you?”
“Stop it! Don’t tickle me … you know what will happen!”
“Go ahead,” he laughed. “Let it happen.” His hands were merciless and he held her to the floor with his powerful thighs and legs.
“Stop! Stop! Please stop! I’ve been in an accident! I’m injured! I’m sick!” She was giggling uncontrollably.
“Yeah! Yeah! Tell me about it. No? Then tell me what I want to hear and I’ll stop.”
“I love you … love you! You … big bully!”
Their laughter filled every corner of the room. She was tangled in his arms and they rolled on the floor into the direct sunlight. It slanted across their bodies, across her scarred breast that Dan bent to kiss.
“You make me … sooo happy,” he said between kisses. “You make me happy and … horny!”
“I’m glad!” She sighed blissfully and gave herself up to his kiss. Sometime later she looked at him with eyes shimmering with love. “Dan … do you suppose in our next life we’ll be on a space station floating around in space?”
“Could be, princess. But don’t worry about it. I’ll find you,” he said confidently with a big smile.
