“I can’t believe you’re doing this,” Perrie said, for what felt like, the millionth time.

“Why? You never shave without cream and water?” I asked as I made quick work of my calf.

“No, not that,” she said. “I mean, I can’t believe you’re going in there. How does he not know it’s you?”

“Because I used a different name, obviously,” I said, smiling at my work. I pulled down the leg of my pants and tossed the razor back in the store bag.

“That’s so gross,” she muttered.

“Okay, I’m off. I’ll talk to you later?” I said, turning to her before I got out of the car.

She nodded. “Yup. Send me a pic when you’re done.”

“I will.” I blew her a kiss and got out, looking up at the Tattoo shop with a sense of excitement. I never thought I’d have the balls to do this, but it just felt – right.

As soon as I walked in, Cat’s eyes widened in shock. I put my finger to my lips and motioned to where Grey was bent over his work, his back to me.

Cat shook her hands wildly in silence, as though her excitement could barely be contained as she looked down at my free leg. I walked to the other side of the counter, and headed to his station, stopping just behind him.

“Excuse me, sir? I’m here for my three o’clock appointment.”

Grey’s head rose, and he looked over his shoulder at me, his entire body freezing. I almost laughed out loud as his mouth dropped open in shock when his eyes looked down my body.

“Surprise,” I said with a smile.

He swivelled around on his chair, wrapping an arm around my waist and pulling me in between his legs. “I can’t believe you didn’t tell me,” he said, still staring down at my foot in disbelief.

I shrugged. “I wanted it to be a surprise.”

“I got that.” He shook his head. “You’re walking on it.” His head lifted as he looked me in the eyes, searching them. “Are you in pain? Does it feel okay?”

“It feels as good as new,” I said.

“I can’t believe it. Congrats, babe. I’m so happy for you.” He leaned up and kissed me quickly on the mouth.

“Thank you,” I said. “Now, how about my appointment?”

You’re
my three o’clock?” he said, his eyes narrowing. “For real?”

I nodded.

“Another surprise?” he asked, his eyes sparking with amusement.

I bit at my lip, nodding again.

“I thought you hated needles.”

“I do,” I said. “But I trust you, and I know you’ll do an amazing job.”

His eyes twinkled with pleasure. “Then hop up on my chair, and let’s get started.”

We drove home in silence, our hands clasped together as the music from the radio surrounded us. I looked down with a grin at the tiny pair of ballet shoes now tattooed beside the scar on my ankle.

It was a simple, elegant design, and I absolutely loved it. More so because it was Grey who had done them.

As we walked up to our floor, anticipation began to heat throughout my body the closer we neared to his apartment door. I felt like it had been forever since we’d been together, and whether he wanted to or not, I was going to jump the man the second we got in there.

Grey unlocked the door, motioning for me to go in first. I entered, turning around to say something to him, but didn’t get far. Before I could blink he was there, his arms around me, pressing our bodies tightly together. His mouth was on mine, owning it as though I were made for him.

I moaned in pleasure as our tongues met, wrapping my arms tightly around his neck to keep him close. His hands lowered to cup my ass before lifting me into his arms.

I could barely breathe around our kiss as it became more frantic the closer we got to the bedroom. It didn’t matter. I didn’t need air if I had Grey. We fell onto the mattress and our clothes were gone in record time, thrown across the floor in messy piles.

His mouth left mine, drifting down my neck and chest, tasting every inch of skin like a man starved.

“Grey,” I pleaded. As much as I loved his mouth, it’s not what I needed right now. I wanted him inside me, to feel connected to him in the most intimate way possible.

“I’m here,” he said, rising back over me and taking my lips with his. A second later I felt him between my legs, pushing forward in a slow glide that had my back bowing.

He paused when his hips met mine, staring down at me with those eyes that always had my heart racing.

“I love you, Honor,” he said.

“I love you too.”

“I want you to move in with me.”

I sucked in a breath. “Wh-what?”

He pulled out slowly, pushing in a bit faster than before, causing my eyes to roll back in my head. This was not fair. How could he want to talk about something this important when he was making any coherent thought impossible?

“Move in with me,” he said again, picking up his speed as he continued his delicious torture. “I want you always around me, every night, every morning.”

I groaned as he hit the perfect spot inside me, driving my climax further to the breaking point.

“Yes,” I said, arching back.

He stopped moving. My eyes popped open, looking up at him in frustration.

He grinned down at me. “Yes, you’ll move in with me?”

“Jesus, Grey,” I complained. “Don’t stop moving.”

He didn’t budge. “Was that a yes to my question, or not?”

“Ugh,” I growled. “Yes, Grey. Yes. I will move in with you.”

The smile that lit up his face literally took my breath away. I couldn’t help but smile back at him, even though he was driving me insane. His lips crashed down on mine as his hips began to move again in a hard, fast rhythm that pushed me over the edge in seconds. I cried out against his mouth, my entire body floating in ecstasy.

“Oh, God,” I said. “That was amazing.”

He chuckled. “We’re not done yet,” he said darkly, moving again.

This man was going to kill me. In the best way possible.

Chapter 32

Grey

It was a sunny, warm Sunday afternoon, and I had the woman that I loved by my side. What more could I ask for?

We drove to my parent’s house, the driveway already full of cars when we got there.

“Just warning you, Jeanie is probably going to attack you when we get in there,” I said as we walked up to the door, hand in hand.

“I miss her,” she said, and I could tell she truly meant it. It only made me love her more for the way she cared for my family.

“I think the feeling is mutual,” I said, remembering how my niece had made me promise to infinity and beyond that Honor would be here today.

We walked inside, the house quiet since everyone was probably already outside. There was the sound of the opening and closing of a cupboard coming from the kitchen, which told me Mom was probably in there cooking up a storm.

“Hello,” I called out.

“Is that my boy?” Mom said a second before she appeared in the doorway. She smiled widely as she wrapped me in a hug. “Look at you,” she said, squeezing me. “I can practically see the happiness pouring out of you right now.”

I rolled my eyes as she let me go.

Ignoring me, she turned to Honor with open arms, to which Honor immediately walked into.

“And look at how good you look,” Mom said, pulling back to look down at Honor’s ankle. “You’re walking just fine.”

Honor nodded. “I feel good.”

“I’m so glad. You had us all worried.” She gave her another squeeze before finally letting go.

I sent Honor an apologetic look, but she just smiled happily.

“Come on in you two, the game has already started out there, and there are plenty of chips to be won.”

Honor giggled as we made our way into the kitchen.

“Miss Honor!” I heard a second before the back door closed and the blur that was my niece came flying up to us. Those tiny little arms wrapped around Honor’s waist, making her take a step back in surprise.

“Easy there, rug rat,” I said, placing a hand on Honor’s back to steady her. “You don’t want to break Miss Honor again.”

Two wide eyes stared up at us in horror. “I’m sorry,” she said.

“It’s okay,” Honor chuckled, hugging her back. “You didn’t hurt me.”

“I’m so happy to see you,” Jeanie said, burying her head into Honor’s stomach. “We miss you at dance.”

“I’ll stop by soon and see how you’re all doing,” she promised. “I’ve missed everyone too.”

“Do you want to see my new routine that Miss Jana made?”

Honor nodded, taking the little offered hand. “I certainly do.”

Jeanie dragged my girlfriend outside, ready to perform. I couldn’t help but chuckle.

“That little girl worships her,” Mom said with a smile.

“I know,” I said, watching them out in the grass. Jillian was hugging Honor too, probably already fussing over her.

“You really do look happy,” Mom said, grabbing my attention.

I looked back at her with a shrug. “I am,” I said simply.

“Good. It’s about time.”

I grabbed a beer from the fridge and left her there in her element, joining the others on the back deck. Jeanie was in full performance mode as she danced for Honor.

“Hello, Son,” Dad called out, motioning to the empty chair beside him.

I nodded at Dean and Jack, taking a seat.

“Your girl there looks all healed up,” Dad said, glancing over at Honor.

“She’s definitely getting there,” I said. “She has a long stretch of rehab to go through, but she’s tough. She’ll be fine.” And she would be. I had no doubt in my mind about that.

“Will she dance again?” Jack asked, keeping his voice low.

“Not like she used to,” I answered honestly. “But that doesn’t mean she’ll never do it. She has plans to eventually open up her own studio and teach. Her dream isn’t completely lost.”

“That’s good,” Dean said, looking over at her.

Jack nodded. “I’m sure Jeanie will want to go wherever she does.”

“I hope so,” I said, looking over to watch the two of them again. Honor would be an amazing teacher, I could see that. Not only did she have a passion for the art, but she loved children too. It was the perfect thing for her.

“I’m just glad you pulled your head of your ass and made things right with her again,” Dad said.

“Thanks, Dad,” I said, taking a sip of my beer. I hadn’t been over much since the accident, so I’d avoided this conversation until now, not that I hadn’t known it was coming.

He smirked at me. “You men need to learn when it’s time to just swallow your pride and apologize.”

The three of us rolled our eyes together.

“Yeah, because you’re the perfect example of the doting husband,” Dean said.

“You don’t hear Maureen complaining, do you?” he said, puffing out his chest.

“All the time,” we said at the same time, laughing.

He waved us off, cursing at us as he dealt out the cards. Honor came back to the table, laughing at something my sister had said as she took the seat beside me. I stretched my arm across the back of her chair, settling back as I looked at my family and the girl I loved. I couldn’t ask for anything better than this.

Jeanie plopped down in Honor’s lap and helped her play as we got into another game of poker. Mom came out shortly with food, and the rest of the evening flew by as everyone joked and laughed, and ate way more than we should have.

Mom eventually got up to clear off the table, Honor and Jillian rising to help. I tried to get her to sit back down, but one hard look from her told me to keep my mouth shut.

“I’m going to help your mom,” she said, leaving no room for argument.

“Yes, dear,” I said with a salute.

She shook her head with a huff, disappearing inside the house.

“And that is how it’s done,” Dad said with a nod. “Just remember those two words, and you’ll be just fine.”

“I think I’m learning that,” I said.

“It’s nice to see you so happy, boy. I can tell that girl is good for you.”

“She is,” I said, staring back at the doors where she’d disappeared. “She really is. I can’t imagine not having her in my life.”

Dad slapped me on the back affectionately. “Soak it up, and enjoy it. There’s nothing more a man can ask for in life than a good woman by his side. And now is the time when you can just enjoy each other, before you start having kids and all that other stuff.”

I snorted. Kids. I never really thought much about being a dad, but I couldn’t help but feel a strange desire for it now that I had Honor. Starting a family with her just felt right. Not now, of course, but sometime down the road for sure.

“There’s nothing like it, you know?” Dad said, sitting back in his chair.

“Like what?” I asked, taking a sip of beer.

“Young love. There’s nothing stronger and more potent than it in the entire world. It will make you feel as though you can take on the world, and conquer anything in your path. And you can. So long as you two have each other, nothing will stop you from living happily ever after.”

I nodded slowly, smiling. Holding up my bottle to him, we clinked drinks.

“That might be the most insightful thing you’ve ever said,” I said.

He winked. “I’m wiser than I look.”

I laughed just as Honor came back out, a smile instantly brightening up her face when our eyes met. I scooted my chair back, reaching for her as I pulled her onto my lap.

This was my life right here, and I couldn’t have asked for anything better.
