Let me see if I can get their attention. I walked by them pretending not to notice they were in the room. I sat at the table closest to where they were standing. Oh yes, they noticed. Of course, they would notice me and here he comes strutting over like a rooster. He looked like a stupid idiot. Did he think women thought a pecking animal was sexy? I could actually taste a little vomit in my mouth.

“Excuse me, aren’t we in the same government class?” He asked. I smiled at him. I knew he took the bait, this stupid human.

“I’m not sure. I’m in the second block, Mr. Dundford.” I replied with a smile. I knew he was proud of himself. He expanded his chest and held a smug look on his stupid face.

“Yes, that’s the class. I thought I recognized you. You should come and join us. My names Michael” He turned and smiled at his friends. He pulled his shoulders back and pushed his chest out even further. He looked like a rooster in a house full of hens. At any moment, I knew he would start crowing.

“Sure, why not. I'm Eleanor,” I said. I tried to act as if I were interested. I followed him in the direction he had pointed. His friends were smiling like a bunch of clowns ready for a parade. I returned their smile as he introduced me to his male counter parts. I honestly didn’t pay attention to the others names because he was the one that made the rude comment of wanting to ‘hit this’ so I was only interested in making sure he tried. One of the vermin addressed me.

“Where are you from?” he asked while he smiled like a jackass that roamed the hills and came upon a briar patch. He had inevitably gluten himself by the look on his face.

“I’m from Canada. Vancouver to be exact,” I replied as I smiled a fake smile back in his direction.

“I thought I recognized the accent.” He said as he looked over at his friends waiting for their agreement. Yes, my accent is much more appealing than the ordinary American ones. I thought to myself, but I smiled and acted as if I were proud of him for the recognition. We talked with his friend for several minutes. I listened to their bragging on their material toys that meant nothing to me.

These meager attempts to impress human females had no effect on my intelligence. I was beyond the small-minded play toys of human interest. I think I could have had more fun fighting with the vamp. As their conversation continued, I was dreadfully growing tired of listening to their mundane tactics of trying to impress me. These males seem to be all talk and little action. This reminded me of a high school pissing contest. I was beginning to think they were more interested in each other than they were in me. Of course, their eyes did enjoy looking down my shirt on occasion, but none of them had the balls to act on their wishes.

I decided I would push this Michael to see if he genuinely wanted to make a move on me, but as I pushed my body up against his to show my interest that twit Trish arrived. She was a thorn in my side, and I would need to get rid of her soon.

“Hello Michael,” she spoke with her squeaky, high-pitched voice as her bright white teeth lead the way. She looked in my direction and acted as if I were invisible and had no physical form. Who did this little bitch rat think she was? What gave her the right to think she could look down on me? I guess I would have to take her out of her misery before I dined on this Michael. I could not let her get away with thinking she could insult me.

“Hi Trish,” he spoke as he looked at her, but I knew he was only interested in my attention.

“Trish, this is Eleanor, she’s in our government class.” Michael stated. His eyes never left my body at least the portion between my neck and abdomen. Trish turned in my direction. I knew she was annoyed that he didn’t jump to her attention. She slung her hair back and pushed the long strands behind her ear.

“Oh yes, I saw you this morning.” She addressed me. After her fake recognition of me, she turned to face him and attempted to weasel her way in between this rat and me. I cleared my throat loud enough for her to understand my frustrations. She found I was not one easily pushed out of a position so she moved to his other side hanging on his arm as if he were some prized possession.

Trish’s voice was a sickening sweet, high-pitched peppy little sound. She reminded me of a cheerleader that constantly acted in an upbeat ready to go state. I kept waiting for her to start shouting out cheers for her team at any minute. She spoke to the other males standing in the group. She seems to know all of them. As I continued to stand almost melted into this male named Michael, I was beginning to realize he was not smart enough to get the hint of what I was trying to convey. Trish turned to me and asked.

“So Eleanor, I didn't see you leave class this morning. I waited for Daught to come out of the building, but the two of you never came out.” She smirked. The smirk on her face told me she didn’t like me, but she would tolerate me to get what she wanted.

I knew she was trying to insinuate that Daught and I were an item. She was letting these other males know that I could be off the market. Off the market my ass, I was the market. This little twit was seriously getting on my nerves just as the vamp had earlier. I had to calm down. I couldn’t kill her in a public place. I didn’t want my sisters to come here. They would get on my ass if I did such a thing. Besides this mere human didn’t intimidate me. She was just a meal. Yes, she was my future meal, but not tonight. I had other rodents to kill.

“I don’t know how you missed me. I left after class just as everyone else did.” I replied to her questioning. I sneered at her. She didn’t appear to pay my glare much attention.

“So do you know Daught?” she asked. I knew she was trying to push my buttons, but she was also trying to find out how well I knew the vamp.

“Kind of, but not really,” I spoke trying to throw her off guard. I refused to give her the answer she wanted.

“He sure is hot. I don’t know why he doesn’t come out in the evening. I never see him down here.” Trish spoke. Her smile and her whinny voice made me sick. I knew no respectable vampire would care to have this idiot for a friend, but we were talking about Daught.

“Are you talking about that pale gothic guy in class?” Michael questioned. He turned to Trish and then to his friends as he started to laugh.

“Yes, but he’s not gothic. He’s sweet. I wouldn’t mind getting to know him.” She replied. She looked in my direction to see if I would react, but she didn’t get what she was after. Her thoughts drifted off to say she wouldn’t mind doing more than just talking with him. I had news for this idiot. I wouldn’t think this vamp would stop trying to come after me for the likes of this little twit. She was hardly competition for me.

“He never talks to anyone. There is something weird about that guy. He’s some kind of nerd. I can’t figure him out.” Michael laughed, but I knew the way he rambled on about Daught he was jealous of him. He and his friends snickered to each other.

For some reason this was getting on my nerves and was making me angry. I don’t know why I felt the need to protect this vamp. Daught was getting under my skin, and I didn’t like it, but there was something vaguely familiar about him. This male was insulting him, and this female had the hots for him. Why was this bothering me?

“Maybe he’s just shy.” I spoke. I directed my words to Trish, but I wanted Michael to understand I didn’t want to hear about him anymore. The group of males started to laugh. I felt the anger build inside of me. I should just kill them all. This world would be a better place if idiots like this didn’t exist.

“Well I think he’s cute, and I’m going to talk to him tomorrow.” Trish spoke up. She looked at me again. I could tell she was trying to read my eyes, but she was a mere mortal that didn’t have a clue about immortal acts. She made me sick. I wouldn’t allow her to get near him right now. I was playing with him at the moment. Maybe when I am finished driving him further insane than he already was, I would let her near him. Of course, this would only be to see him suck the blood out of her pathetic human form.

“Good luck. He doesn’t like your kind. You know female,” Michael spoke. His smirks were beginning to piss me off. I was over his adolescent, want-to-be tough guy routine, but what more could I expect. These human males started laughing and giving each other high fives. The next thing I knew they would be patting each other on the butt. Oh my god, I actually felt sick.

“Eleanor would you like to come over and sit with me and the other girls from the class. These shallow minded guys are not worth talking too,” She added. She grabbed my arm, which I didn’t like, and I pulled away from her. I looked in Michael’s direction and realized he hadn’t gotten the hint that I was interested in spending time alone with him. He was too good-looking of a man to be so stupid. I thought the vamp was slow, but now I saw the true meaning of mentally challenged.

This was not my intention of the night, but I could go and see what she knew about the vamp. I had to find out what he was up too. I had plenty of time to kill this rodent. I agreed and followed her over to the table where she and the other human females were sitting. Michael looked in my direction and waved good-bye. I could not believe the rat didn’t take the hint I was giving him. I guess next time I would have to come right out and ask him if he was ready to have sex. What else could I do, but put it in ordinary terms for him to understand? He must have been the one that was gay, or maybe he was just unpretentiously stupid. I practically threw myself at him, and he missed the entire connection. He and his jock friends seemed to talk more than they acted. Now to find out what these girls knew about this vamp.

I sat at the table with Trish and her friends. Their names reminded me of a dreadful movie cast: Jen, Meg and Brit. Such meager names apparently their parents did not take much time to decide on what to call them. Their names were stupid momentary names that made them nothing more than prissy lilliputian girls that had no relevance. They should hope to married some rich male that would take care of them for the rest of their short existence. I did not need taken care of by a male. I walked this earth for hundreds of years without a male to take care of me. The thought of this made me laugh.

I looked over in the direction of Michael. He and his friends looked at me with an almost audible giggle. I heard them talk about my body as if I were some piece of meat to maul over. These mere human males are ridiculous, small-minded creatures that had no backbone for a real woman. No wonder I enjoyed killing males so much. The fear in their little eyes once they realized I wasn't interested in having sex with them, but my interests were nothing more than to rip a hole in their neck and suck the fluid that made their hearts beat from their bodies. They wet their pants in fear when they saw my razor sharp fangs coming in the direction of their previously thick necks. These necks that swelled with the growth of an appendage that did me no good.

My attention returned to the table where I sat with Trish and her friends. These females were talking simultaneously at one time. Their laughter and giggles were more than I could stand. I was almost ready to vomit. Their conversation was about some new movie that was coming out. I had no idea of what they were referring.

“Eleanor, do you want to go see the new vampire movie with us?” Trish asked. She smiled with a perfect white grin plastered across her face. Her eyes looked at me as a puppy would look at his owner when he wanted to play.

“What movie are you talking about?” I asked. I had no idea why they were so enthusiastic about a fictional movie.

They looked at each other as if I had a third eye. They were in shock that I had no idea of this movie. Apparently, this movie was some tremendous thing that humans thought was the only interest in life.

“It's only the best book series out right now.” Meg was matter-of-fact as she spoke. “And they’ve turned it into movies. The third one is out now.” She turned to look at the other three girls. They could not believe I had no idea about this movie of theirs.

They began to tell me all about this movie. It was about a werewolf that was in love with a human female, but she was in love with the dark, mysterious vampire. I couldn’t believe the interest these humans had in this stupid movie. I mean seriously, why would any human female want to have sex with an icicle not mention want to wake up with fleas?

“No I’m not interested in vampires or werewolves.” I replied looking away from the table where we sat. I searched the crowd to find a more interesting conversation. Maybe someone was contemplating suicide.

The four females were silent. They sat with their mouths wide open, each one in shock looking at the other as if I ripped a hole in the neck of someone right in front of them.

“What?” I asked as I gestured with my hands. I watched the four sets of eyes stared back at me. I began to wonder if I had my head on correctly or if I had a large clump of something in my teeth.

“I have never talked to anyone that didn’t like these movies.” Trish exclaimed. She turned to look at the others for verification of her words.

“Sorry, I don’t see the reality of a human falling in love with a vampire or a werewolf, or vice versa. I mean they are dark, cold creatures besides they don’t exist anyway.” I told them.

“Well it’s just a movie. You don’t have to rationalize it.” Brit spoke. She got up flinging her hair over her shoulder and rolling her eyes. She walked to the nearby concession stand.

“Eleanor, where do you know Daught from?” Meg asked as she rolled her eyes. She looked at Trish and smiled. This Trish was starting to irritate me. I don’t know why her interest in Daught was upsetting me. Maybe it was not her interest in him, but her voice that bothered me more than anything. I could tell the four females felt upset that I didn’t share their views of what would make an entertaining evening out. I am sure they wouldn’t think my ideal of a good time would be fun either. They shifted in their seats. I knew they weren’t going to change the subject.

“I know him from a long time ago. He’s someone from my past.” I spoke. I didn’t lie. I have seen him somewhere in the past, but I couldn’t recall the time and place. Besides, I could tell my knowing Daught upset Trish so I let it work to my advantage.
