Now, I’m no expert, but I’m pretty sure I really did orgasm this time. Maybe, I imagine this too, but I swear I feel and hear him inhale into my hair. Oh My God! Did he just smell my hair?

“You smell so fuckin’ good, Ella.”

Yup, he totally did.

“You smell like candy apples.”

It’s my new shampoo and body wash. Guess I’ll be buying it again.

“I wonder if you taste as good.”

What? Did he just say that?

Then his mouth is on mine, hard. His tongue finds its way in my mouth and mine into his. It’s the most amazing kiss I have ever had in my life.

“Yup, you taste just as good here. I can’t wait to see and taste everywhere else.”

I can feel it right through my core and the surge of wetness in my panties. He starts to move his hands on me over my clothing. They then go to my breasts and his thumbs swipe across my nipples. Oh God. It feels amazing, when he starts rolling my nipples between his thumbs and fingers. Too much, it is all too much.

“Oh God, Oh God.” My whole body is feeling things that I’ve never experienced before in my life, it is
awesome!!
I can feel something building tight inside me searching for the perfect release.

“OH! MY! GOD!” I scream, as I come hard. I
know
I definitely had an orgasm this time. Ryder groans into my ear as I am screaming.

“Jesus, did you just come with me barely touching you? That’s so fuckin’ hot,” he growls.

“I-I-I have to tell you, oh God.” I was hardly composed enough to talk.

“What baby?”

“I-I’m a virgin.” That’s when the warmth leaves my body and I am suddenly let go. Ryder stands a few feet away from me.

“Holy fuck, you’re a virgin. Ok, I gotta take a cold shower. I’ll be back. Make yourself comfortable.” The heat was still in his eyes, and you could see his arousal through his very faded and fit jeans.

“Why don’t we finish what we started? That was amazing,” I purr, still coming down from my climax.

“Sorry babe, but I can’t do that. Not like this. You deserve more. You deserve flower petals, hotel room, you know, all that shit, and I can’t do that shit. That’s not me.”

“That is not what I asked for.”

“But it is what you deserve and need.”

“Don’t tell me what I need. You don’t know a thing about me, so you don’t get to tell me what I need.”

“I’ll be back.” You could see he was fighting with everything he had not to come back to me right then and there. But the more I thought about it, did I really, after all these years want to lose it like that? It was obvious that being with Ryder makes me not think straight.

Especially, as I was now thinking about searching for the nearest hotel, lingerie shop, florist and grocery store (for the basics like strawberries, whip cream, something naughty to wear, you know, all the necessities) on my smartphone. I wanted him, and bad. I had never felt this way before; Matt had never made me feel like this.

I walk through the living room that surprisingly didn’t contain leather furniture and found myself in the kitchen. I decide to nose around a little bit and check out what he has in the refrigerator. Its contents are beer and old takeout containers. I scrunch up my nose because it smells kind of funky in there.

Shutting the fridge door and leaning against it, I might as well take a trip down memory lane while I try to gain control of my raging hormones and start dry humping the counter.

Mine and Matt’s relationship was more about companionship. I realize I sound like an old widow, but honestly there never was that electric feeling between us. Yes he was cool, hot, sweet, and I thought he adored me but for some reason there was none of the passion that seems to surround me and Ryder.

Matt was one of my closest friends, but I never felt I could truly be myself in his presence. One of my main reasons for uprooting life and moving to Del Mar was to try and make it on my own. I loved the Clare family and they loved me, but no matter how much they tried to comfort me, they weren’t my family. It was me alone in this world and I needed to face that fact head on.

“You’re full of surprises, aren’t you?” Ryder’s gruff voice breaks through my thoughts as he creeps up behind me.

At least he has the decency to sling on a pair of low-rise jeans and a long sleeve Henley shirt, after getting out of the shower. I think I would have fainted at the sight of him with just a towel wrapped around his waist. I bet he even has that deep V highlighting his masculine selling point. What am I getting myself into?

“I guess this changed any plans you might have concocted for us tonight,” I smirk.

“Don’t you worry, babe. Ryder always has a plan B.” He gives me that crooked grin again. I really hope that Plan B has something to do with a big bed and him, tonight.

My cell phone starts ringing in my purse and I instantly recognize the personalized ringtone playing, “Don’t Cha” by The Pussycat Dolls.

“Babe, you gonna get that?” I move toward my purse and haul it out looking at the display reading, ‘Payton Calling’. I smile.

“Hello?”

“Well how is the sexy new school teacher in town?” she asks excitedly. “Break any young hearts today?”

“Um. Good,” I say followed by, “No, I didn’t break any hearts today.” Glancing over at Ryder I notice one of his eyebrows arch up.

“You don’t sound so sure.”

I feel Ryder move behind me and he brushes my hair from around my neck and he slowly put his arms around me and says into my ear “I have been waitin’ my whole life for this.” Holy Fuck!! What do you say to that?

“Hello, can you hear me?” Payton yells.

“Oh shoot, sorry Payton, I was distracted.”

“What are you doing?” I was trying to move away when he plants a soft kiss to the nape of my neck.

“Um…” I couldn’t quite get it out.

“Are you with someone?” she asks.

“Umm…Yes,” I guiltily confess.

“Who? OMG! Is it that biker guy from last year?” She sounds way too excited.

“Yes.”

“Girl, take a picture and send it to me. I have to see what the big deal is.”

“I am not taking a picture and sending it to you!”

That is when the phone is ripped from my hand by Ryder and he pushes a few buttons and snuggles in close to me and says, “Say cheese.” So I smile. He takes a picture of us, then presses a couple of buttons and says into the phone, “Check it out.”

“OMG!” I snatch the phone back out of his hand. “Payton, did you get it?”

“Damn! He is hot! Can’t wait to visit and get my hands on his ass,” she jokingly says. Knowing Payton the way I do, that’s the first thing she’ll do when she sees him.

“Yeah I know.” I laugh.

“Now I know why you’ve been obsessing over him this past year.”

He grabs the phone from my hand
again
and this time says, “Time’s up, gotta go.” He flips the phone shut and throws it on the kitchen table.

“Hey I wasn’t done talking to Payton,” I say.

“Yeah, you are,” he informs me.

“You’re not the boss of me.”

“We’ll see,” he shoots back.

“Ryder, I’m getting tired and have to work early tomorrow morning. Where’s the spare bedroom?”

To my surprise, he tells me, “Down the hall, last door on the left.” I figured he would want me in his bed tonight and not the spare room.

When I walk into the bedroom and see the masculine décor and clothes littering the floor, I have a sneaky suspicion that this is the wrong room. I notice my overnight bag sitting at the foot of the bed.

“Are you sure this is the spare bedroom?”

“Nah, it’s my room, babe.” Yup, definitely the wrong room.

Now that I’m thinking clearly, I barely made it through the front door this evening without him mauling me. Now he expects me to sleep in the same bed with him. That’s not going happen without me losing my “V” card.

“This isn’t working for me.”

“What’s not workin’ for you?”

“Sharing this bed.”

“Why, do you plan on invitin’ some friends over for a slumber party?” He looks at me with an amused smile on his face.

“I thought we would be sharing the bed tonight.”

“Nope,” really popping the ‘p’ when he says this. He strolls out through the door, shutting it behind him.

What the hell? Did he really just walk out? Is he not sleeping in here with me? I thought he wanted me. That hot ass man totally confuses me. I mean, one minute he’s got me against the door and seems he wants inside me bad, then the next he leaves me in his room alone and doesn’t even kiss me good night.

I go into the bathroom to use the toilet, brush my teeth and wash my face. I then change into my comfy sleeping attire, which consists of a white tank top and cotton pajama bottoms. I then exit the bathroom, still kind of expecting to see Ryder there, but the room is empty.

I crawl into the bed with its soft sheets and down comforter and lay my head on the pillow. I can smell Ryder’s scent on his pillow (which smells A-MAZ-ING), and let out a small sigh. I think with today’s events that I will never be able to fall asleep. I barely get this thought out before I actually do fall into a deep sleep.

Chapter 5

A Long Day

I wake up to the smell of freshly brewed coffee. If I’m not mistaken, I also smell bacon cooking. How can that be? All Ryder has in his refrigerator is old takeout containers and not actual food.

I get out of bed and quietly walk down the hallway.

Stepping into the kitchen, I notice Ryder standing near the stove flipping bacon in a frying pan. He’s only wearing a pair of faded low rise jeans. Ryder shirtless, yes please! His hair still looks damp from the shower. Mmm, Ryder wet and soapy. I have to stop fantasizing about Ryder in the shower. Focus Ella! I can see that the tattoo on his neck is not the only tattoo on his body. He has one on his left bicep, back and the inside of his right forearm. My focus goes to the tattoo on his back.

In the daylight, I get my first really good look at his most dominant tattoo. He has a reaper in profile holding a scythe that pretty well covers his entire back. The word MAYHEM is inked in bold black letters up above the reaper, spanning his shoulder blades.

God, he looks so yummy that I can hardly concentrate on the food he’s preparing. The muscles in his back ripple as I watch him grab a loaf of bread from a grocery bag on the counter and put two slices in the toaster.

“When did you go grocery shopping?” I ask. “Very domesticated,” I say, suppressing a giggle.

He turns around, but stops to give me an appreciative glance from head to toe. In the morning light, you can hardly notice the cut on his lip from last night. I thought he would have a black eye too, but the swelling has gone down and I don’t see any bruising. God, he looks hot in the morning.

“I went out a couple of hours ago and stopped at one of those 24 Hour grocery stores back on the highway and picked up all the fixins’ for breakfast. I figured you’d be hungry when you woke up this mornin’ considering we never got to
eat
last night.” He says this with what sounds like a double entendre.

“Wow, that’s really thoughtful. It smells so good and I’m starving,” I say as my stomach growls. Ryder laughs. God, I love that sound.

I sit down at one of the two stools located near the island in the kitchen. Ryder hands me a cup of coffee and places some cream and sugar in front of me. He also has two glasses of orange juice and some sliced up fruit on a plate on the counter. While I’m preparing my coffee, he’s plating up the food and grabbing some utensils and then places them in front of me, too. A girl could get used to this.

“Dig in.”

So I do. Yummy!

When we finish eating, Ryder tells me to go shower and get ready for work, while he cleans up the dishes. Before I leave the room to go shower, I give him a soft kiss on the lips and whisper, “Thanks for breakfast and everything else.” I quickly turn and head towards the bathroom before he has a chance to respond.

Once I’ve finished doing all the girly things I do to get ready for the day, I pick out a cute outfit of a pale pink silk blouse with an asymmetrical hem that falls in all the right places, grey wide leg dress pants and kick-ass-three-inch heel boots. I step into the living room and Ryder is waiting for me. Once again, he looks me over and smiles.

“What?” I say.

“You look gorgeous.”

“Thanks.”

“What do you do, babe?” he asks.

“Sorry?” I’m not sure what he’s asking.

“Your job, what do you do?”

“Oh, I’m a teacher.”

“Elementary school?”

“No, I teach at Del Mar Regional High School.”

“Not good babe,” he says, frowning.

“Why, is that not good, Ryder?” I ask.
