Right now, I’m straddling a thin line. My fucking mind is going crazy thinking about that bastard even getting close to Wynter again. Hell, I even want to fucking protect her sister and niece, just so I know that she will be happy. Fuck me. Am I really starting to get feelings over this broad after one day with her?

Contemplating about this shit, I miss when she calls out my name. “Jase!” she yells.

Jumping up off the bed, I walk into the bathroom to see her jumping up and down pointing at something. “What is your issue?” I ask watching her jump around. She practically jumps in my arms, and I can't help but laugh.

“There’s a spider! It and its whole family are going to come after me and kill me!” she squeaks. Her arms wrap highly around my neck, and I swear she is going to choke me out. “Sugar, let go,” I gasp out, grabbing onto the counter.

“Sorry,” she whispers with a blush creeping up her cheeks. Her arms loosen and I can finally breathe.

“Where is it?” I ask, adjusting her weight so I can rub my neck with one hand.

“Right there!” she gasps, pointing at the sink.

Letting her go, I move around her, and look inside the sink. She makes some more weird noises, before walking into the bedroom dressed in some skimpy shorts and a tank top. Fuck me; this is going to be a long night.

Once I kill the tiny ass spider that is chilling in the sink, I make my way back into the room, and pull off my shirt. I know that Prez is going to call us all in for church in a few hours, but I am fucking exhausted and horny. I hear her breath catch as I lean over, and pull my jeans down.

“You know I can help you with that,” I say eyeing her.

She looks down and scrambles to the bed. She gets under the covers and scoots all the way to the wall. Turning off the light, I walk back over to the bed, and scoot in.

“I promise I won't bite,” I say looking up at the ceiling, “Unless you want me to.”

I hear her breathing deepen, but she doesn't move an inch.

“Sugar relax! I won't do anything you don't want me to,” I state when I know that she is uncomfortable.

“I know. I just...” she trails off.

I can tell she’s afraid of something, but I’m not sure what it is. Hell, she probably just doesn't want to get mixed up with a man like me, which is understandable. It takes a lot to deal with the club, and all the shit that we throw at the women.

“You just what, sugar?” I rasp.

Reaching an arm over, I rest it on her stomach. At first she tenses up, but after a few seconds, she relaxes into my touch.

“Jase,” she whimpers.

Instead of trying anything, I pull her body into mine, and rest my hand on her hip. Her exhale of breath proves that I’m making the right decision for her. If I want her, I have to go at her pace, which is definitely not what I am used to.

I wake up to the sound of my phone buzzing on the dresser. Looking over at Wynter’s face, it makes me crave more of her. Never in my life have I ever let a women sleep in my bed unless it was for sex, and then we weren’t even sleeping. The peaceful look on her face draws me in, and grabs ahold of me.

Damn. I’m starting to sound like my pussy ass twin.

Grabbing the phone, I see that it’s Brantley. “Yeah?” I rasp out.

“Hey, church in fifteen. Dad just put word out,” he says like he’s been up for hours already.

Sighing, I run my hand through my hair. “Yeah, I’ll be there in a minute. Is everyone there already?” I ask.

“Yeah pretty much and Dom is pissed,” he chuckles.

“Why the fuck is he all bent out of shape?” I question. Shit, sometimes I think Brant and Dom are more brothers than we are.

“This shit is pulling him away from his first night with his wife,” Brant states.

“No fucking way. That fucker got married? When the fuck did that happen?” I ask.

Brant chuckles, “Last night, but don’t go tell every fucking person. They will tell everyone when they want them to know.”

He starts to say something else, but Wynter distracts me. Her sleepy face is watching me, and all I want to do right now is kiss her.

She licks her lips, and watches me intently. Fuck me.

“Jase,” my brother yells into the phone.

“Yeah man, sorry. What did you say?” I stumble.

I see a smile appear on Wynter’s face, and it causes me to lean closer to her.

“I said that you need to get your fucking head out of your ass and stop playing grab ass with this girl. We can’t fuck this shit up if it’s as bad as you think,” he grumbles.

“I will fucker. I’ll see you in a few,” I hang up on him, and toss my phone on the dresser. I inch towards her a little more, and her breathing deepens. It’s almost like she wants it as much as I do. When our lips are less than an inch away, I look into her eyes, and see the fire burning inside them.

Pressing my lips to hers, I take her mouth, and own it. Her moans fill the air and as much as I want to take her right here, right now, I know I can't. For once I want to do right by a girl; no I want to do right by her.

Pulling away from her, I catch my breath, and press my forehead to hers. “Fuck,” I mutter under my breath.

“Wow,” she breathes, looking into my eyes. Smirking, I lay back on the pillows. Wynter looks over at me, and then lies down beside me.

“I didn't expect it to be like that,” she admits, covering her face with her hands.

I can’t help but smile at her. Leaning over her, I pull her hands down, and give her a quick kiss on the lips. Her taste is getting addicting, and I want more.

“I have to go, I’ll be back in a little while,” I say kissing her nose.

Getting out of the bed, I pull on my jeans, and look for a clean tee. After I pull on my boots, I make my way to the bathroom, and brush my teeth.

When I walk back into the room, I see Wynter cuddled up under my blanket, and in my bed, and it feels like that’s where she belongs.

Walking out into the hall, the first person I run into is my brother Elijah.

“What the fuck are you so happy for?” he asks when he sees me.

“I’m not. I just want to go to fucking bed.”

Elijah just smirks, “Why so you can go bang your ole’ lady?”

I shake my head and he just laughs harder.

“Let’s fucking get this shit over with. I have shit to do today,” I grumble.

Walking into church, I see all my brothers standing around the room getting ready to sit down. Tossing my phone into the box, I take my seat, and rub my temples. I already know I’m about to get a lot of shit for taking Wynter as my ole’ lady.

Brant comes in and pulls out his chair next to me, and turns towards me.

“You finally get laid or something? You don’t look as pissy as you did yesterday morning,” he muses.

I can see the laughter in his eyes, and I want to fucking deck the bastard. I didn’t give him shit at every turn when he started fucking around with Anslie. Hell, she was practically underage when that shit started, and I didn’t say a fucking word.

“Fuck you Brant,” I retort.

When Prez walks into the room, everyone takes their seats, and my old man shuts the door.

Once they are both seated, Prez slams the gavel on the table, and all eyes are on him.

Chapter Eight

“Let’s get fucking started. I know we all have shit we’d rather be doing this morning than sitting in this fucking room with each other,” Prez states.

We all surely know Prez would rather be fucking that little lawyer, than being here with us.

“Yeah if it weren’t for fucking Jase, I’d be fucking my wife,” Dom grumbles.

All heads turn in his direction, and he runs his hand over his head.

“When the fuck did you get married?” Prez asks with a shocked expression.

Brant just smirks as he looks over at Dom. “Last night.”

“Why the fuck didn’t you say anything boy?” Prez looks pissed, but his expression changes.

“We made that shit small. The only people there where Axle, Brant, and Anslie. And the only reason those two were there, was so we had witnesses. Otherwise those two wouldn’t have been there either,” he mumbles.

“We need to celebrate the Wayward way. I’ll get Henley and Anslie to plan a party for the two of you. No questions about it,” he says before getting down to business.

“We need to get back to why we are here in the first place. Saxton Meyers has put a price on Jase’s ole’ lady’s head. He wants her dead because she knows about his dealings. Wynter is the sister of Saxton’s wife. We believe that Saxton is in bed with a few of the major players in Nevada and Sacramento. He could have something to do with the shit that’s going down in Sac.”

Looking around the room, I see everyone just waiting for what we plan on doing about this shit. My brothers will always have my back, and that means Wynter’s too.

“Saxton already left her fiancé lying in a pool of his own blood in their house, so who knows what that bastard will do to her. I want her under protection until we can take this fucker down,” I growl.

I want to take this fucker down and everyone he is associated with him. He will regret ever touching a hair on my girl’s head. Shit, I’ve never called a woman my girl.

I see a few of the men nod their heads, and my old man gives me a look, almost like he doesn’t agree with me. Brant looks over at me, and nods his head. At least I have him on my side for this shit. If Brant is on my side, it’s typically easier to get my old man on board with this shit.

“I agree with Jase. I think she needs protection and our help. Hell if we don’t help her, she’ll probably end up dead somewhere,” he says looking around the table.

“You claimed her Jase, make sure she knows the rules and helps with this party the girls will be throwing. For now, she’s under our protection, and we will be doing some recon on her brother-in-law before we set a plan in motion.” Prez motions before slamming the gavel on the table; excusing us for the day.

Standing up, I grab my phone, and wait for the others to walk out before I follow them out into the bar area.

“You like this girl?” Brant asks from behind me.

Turning to face him, I see the concern written all over his face. It’s not something he shows a lot, but it’s there
