Stephen Graham Jones started writing in 1990, in an emergency room. Ten years later, his first novel came out, and, since then, there have been six more, and two collections. He has also had some hundred and thirty stories published, anthologized, and included in annuals and textbooks. And he still finds himself in the emergency room more than he really planned.
