“We have a son,” Erup whispered to her.
Sandi opened her eyes as her son and daughter were placed onto her belly. Now she understood why she had felt like a beached whale when she was pregnant and why she had been so tired. She had been carrying twins. She looked down into their perfect little faces and cried tears of joy. She looked up at her men and saw they also had tears in their eyes. She sighed with contentment and closed her eyes, exhaustion pulling at her. She felt Dreab and Erup pick up their children and forced her heavy lids open. They were cooing and laughing over the way their younglings’ fists were waving in the air. She watched as Dreab offered a finger to each of his children. She saw his chest puff up with pride, and then she heard him speak.
“Our children will both be very strong. They will come to be warriors and great leaders of the Reap Clan.”
Sandi didn’t have the heart to tell him that all babies had fierce grips from birth. Who was she to bust his bubble?
“You have made me very happy and proud, Sandi. I love you, baby,” Dreab whispered in her ear as her eyes slid closed once more.
She felt the bed dip on the other side, and Erup’s deep voice and moist breath caressed her ear. “I love you, Sandi. Thank you for the gift of our younglings.”
Sandi was too tired to reply. She smiled at her mates and let her exhaustion pull her down into sleep. She was content and wouldn’t have it any other way.

Van. I live in Australia with my wonderful hubby of many years, as well as my children, a pigeon pair, (a girl and a boy). I have always wanted to write and last year decided to do just that.
