It was later revealed to me that this trip had taken place because they had become acquainted with Mr. Neil Hudson Newman, MSc, a civil/structural engineer and teacher. Mr. Newman claims to have deciphered an ancient code and to have determined where the legendary treasure of Rennes-le-Chateau had once been buried. After seeing some of Jeff’s drawings, shown to him by David Coggins (the hypnotist), he had become intrigued and had visited the Glanvilles, travelling from his home in South Wales, to discuss his interpretation of the drawings and to share some of his work with them. About a year later (1999), Neil Newman became very much more involved with the Glanvilles. After they had left a copy of his work on their dining room table. it had then disappeared. Two messages they thereafter received related to Newman’s code, very much to his amazement. This led to every new and obscure message (even though not encoded) being referred to Neil Newman and, in that way, it seems, he was drawn into the ETs’ network.

That first trip to Rennes-le-Chateau arose from Newman’s interpretation and synthesis of several messages, received in various ways, by the Glanvilles. From these, the location, date and time of the rendezvous had been able to be determined. It seems that I had been consulted to discover whether the AT’s predictions for that date and place confirmed the information given by the de-coded messages.

Another consequence of Neil Newman’s association with the Glanvilles was that they were invited to travel to South Wales to visit a location near Caerphilly. Neil Newman had determined, from various old sources, that the site had links with the Arthurian legend. The Glanvilles anticipated that this might be to provide another rendezvous with the ETs. I was asked to provide a timings graph for an area in the vicinity of Caerphilly and to suggest the most likely rendezvous times. This was done successfully.
During the exercise I noticed that Reading and Caerphilly shared a common ground-track line (space-lane), so there seemed to be a tangible link between the two sites.

Yucatan and a stepped pyramid.

During the summer of 2004, I was informed by David Glanville that Jeff had received an instruction to visit Yucatan, Mexico, during a given three-day period in July. The dates were July 23rd to 25th. Could I produce a graph for that area and advise them on the most likely times for the expected encounters? On producing the required graph I noticed a rather interesting coincidence.
Yucatan also shared that common ground track linking Reading to Caerphilly
!
So, I would regard that track as being probably favoured for a Yucatan encounter. The global presentation in Fig.60
demonstrates how the sites are linked. Fig.61
is the computed timings graph for Yucatan.

Because Yucatan is close to the equator, the timing lines are clustered in such a way that large gaps exist between the clusters. This means that, if genuine events were to be reported at times within those gaps, the AT would be shown to be inadequate. This was to be a real test of its efficacy. I concentrated my attention on the clusters of lines containing that common ground track, which is labelled No.4 on this diagram. There were, as usual, four possibilities, with orientations of 11:00 h. RA. (dashed lines), Sunset terminator (lower curved) lines, 21:30 h. RA. (solid sloping lines) and Sunrise terminator (upper curved) lines, respectively. Each one of these possibilities was considered in turn and I decided to check whether any solar system bodies were aligned with them. The only alignment of that kind during those dates was associated with the Sunset track option, which was closely aligned with Mercury and, possibly, Mars. This I decided to regard as being a significant pointer and read off the times indicated by the lower cluster of curved lines as representing the most promising time interval for an encounter, during that period in July.

This result was given to David over the telephone. I asked how Jeff was going to arrange to fly to Yucatan during the specified period? Well, it was going to be facilitated by a strange coincidence. Jeff had recently become associated with a young woman in the travel industry, who could arrange flights to Cancum, Yucatan. She hoped to be able to arrange for Jeff to fly on flights to and from that destination during one of her respite periods, when she was entitled to have two or three days off duty. Was it all just a coincidence? David and I shared the same doubts over the ‘phone. It was almost as though the ETs had arranged it to be so.

I received a report of Jeff’s enforced holiday, over the ‘phone, soon after he had returned. The events had occurred during the time period I had specified, between 2:30 pm. and 3:15 pm. Yucatan Standard Time. Jeff and his companion went swimming in the hotel’s pool and had left their towels folded on their sun-beds. On swimming to the edge of the pool, Jeff noticed that his towel was then spread out on the recliner. He got out of the pool and folded it again, wondering who had spread it out. He returned to the water and shortly afterwards saw the towel had been spread out again. He called to his companion that it looked as if he was being required to lie on the bed. Fortunately, his companion had been forewarned that strange happenings might occur during that trip and, so, was not surprised by this. However, she would have been, to say least, surprised by what happened after Jeff lay down. According to Jeff, a large green face appeared from the sky and he became absorbed by the subsequent imagery. During this time his companion had seen him enter what can only be described as an altered state of consciousness and he began to speak in a strange, unfamiliar, language. This state had continued for something like the time period I had predicted, with the unflappable young woman taking it all in her stride. After Jeff had returned to normal, they’d been able to enjoy the remainder of their brief holiday in the sun. However, they’d discovered that a souvenir had been left on a small shelf when they returned to their room after the event. It was a little crystal skull. That skull was to feature a lot after it had been placed on the Glanville’s dining table.

After all that, Jeff received three other calls to return to Yucatan. They were for the periods October 18th to 22nd, November 13th and 14th, 2004, and January 19th, 2005. I was asked for time predictions for each of these periods and they turned out to be correct. The October and November predictions were again Sunset ones and I was guided by the solar system alignments at those dates. Alignments with Mars and possibly Jupiter occurred in October and with Venus and possibly Mars and Jupiter, in November. The date in January, 2005, presented me with more difficulties. The Sunset option was aligned with Mars and possibly Pluto, but there was also a Sunrise option which aligned with the comet Encke and possibly with Venus. Both these indicated time periods are shown ringed by Fig.61, the Sunset time period being in the hour before midday and the Sunrise one indicating times between 2:30 and 3:30 am. After the event, I was informed that both these predictions had turned out to be accurate.

Stranger and stranger things have happened progressively throughout this sequence of trips to Yucatan. On one occasion Jeff had been instructed to climb to the top of a stepped pyramid in a period close to midday and to deliver an artefact there. He’d found his way to the very top of the pyramid blocked by scaffolding and had wondered what he might be required to do in those circumstances. Standing on an outside platform, he was then inspired to throw the object upwards in the hope that it might land at the desired destination. He’d watched it slowing down and realised it had been a vain hope. Then, to his amazement, he had seen the object suddenly accelerate upwards and disappear into the sky. The Yucatan saga may be continued, but I think the whole story (if ever complete) must be left for Jeff Glanville to tell for himself.

As a footnote, I consider that these events involving Yucatan seem to have provided significant tests of the efficacy of the Astronautical Theory in predicting the ETs’ activities and, also, to have validated the suspected links of those activities with favourably-aligned solar system bodies. I am very pleased that the Glanvilles have been willing to share their strange experiences with me and to allow them to be published in this book.

PHASE 9:
Concluding reflections

CHAPTER 23
W
HAT A QUEST !

The exercise described by the previous chapters began as the result of my inquisitiveness about phenomena that had seemed to challenge my knowledge of aeronautics and astronautics. Years before, after being handed a copy by a school classmate, I had read the Leslie/Adamski book
[15]
of 1953, containing George Adamski’s claim to have met a human-looking alien astronaut, but the idea that living ETs were visiting this planet had just left me cold. In fact, it was the quality of the photographs in that book that stimulated me to look for new means of flying, other than by aerodynamics, rocketry and jet-thrust systems. So, my investigations into the nature of gravity, stemming from this interest, preceded my study of the SAC reports of 1967 by some 13 –14 years. That spare-time study of gravity took me into the realms of Relativity and Quantum Mechanics. However, it soon became apparent, even with my lay-understanding of those two major areas of physics, that our physics were not yet advanced enough to even simulate, let alone emulate, an aerial craft with the ability to modify, locally, the gravitational field it was subject to on the surface of this planet. There was a need for a new theory of gravity to unite the two major physical theories and, as the years went by, I was bold enough to try to produce one. (This was eventually brought together in an unpublished 1998 paper with the title,
‘Gravity – Some Original Thoughts’
). All this provided me with a desire to know more and, eventually, the events of 1967 provided me with the required stimulus.

Those early investigations very quickly told me that I had no hope of understanding the means by which the reported craft were propelled and controlled, but they seemed to be real enough. O.K.– they were real, but clearly not of this world. So, what were they up to? Which features on the ground below them had been of interest and was there any pattern in the supposed surveillance activity? The story of how that Phase 1 investigation led into Phase 2 has been told earlier in this book. The progression was all very logical and led to surprising results; results supplemented by my involvement in those crop-circle investigations described in Phase 3. Then followed a period when I concentrated on trying to communicate my findings to others for independent assessment. That was an up-hill struggle. Then, some years later, the breakthroughs into the consciousness of a few scientists began, the guarded acceptance of Edward Ashpole providing a stimulus for others. This opening up of the work is summarised in Phase 6. However, the testing of the Astronautical Theory (AT) for SAC/UFO Events was not taking place. I was told on several occasions by university professors that funding would not be made available for such studies.

In the face of this ‘stone-walling’, there seemed to be nothing further to do than to computerise the Theory myself and to test new reports in that way. Typical results of those exercises were demonstrated by the cases considered in Phases 4 and 5. The AT seemed to apply to all manner of SAC encounters, including those involving time loss and possible abduction of the witnesses. As the checking procedure progressed, it was revealing to me, and to all who would heed the results, that
this planet is under continuing surveillance by ETs
and that humans and human activities are being closely monitored. The technology being used we cannot reproduce. It is, by our standards, ‘magical’, but why shouldn’t it be?
