Creighton brought in a tall glass of orange juice and a small white pill
as she climbed beneath the water. He sat on the side of the tub and handing her both. Sandra obeyed his silent order and slipped the pill into her mouth; she had to admit, the one last night after they arrived back at the flat did make her feel better, though she didn’t want to make a habit out of taking them. He took the glass from her when she handed it to him and walked it to the vanity, picking up the wrist watch.

“That little thing was a lifesaver,” she told him.

“I have a growing list of complaints to discuss with Lawrence,” he said, setting it back down and walking over to her again. “I don’t like how difficult it was to find you; that’s not what I wanted when I came up with the plan for this device. I was hoping it would be much easier and much quicker. But then again, I wasn’t expecting you to stay behind when you had the chance to escape, either.”

“I had to stay or we would never have known it was Silvano behind all of this.”

“Still, I don’t know if I should thank you for saving my sister or turn you over my knee for putting yourself in danger.”

“You can do both, but I’d ask you to hold of the spanking until I can get rid of this headache.”

“Agreed,” he smiled.

“What does purple mean?” she asked a moment later, watching Creighton’s frown pull his brows together. “The watch, what does purple mean? I can’t remember.”

“It means the device has been found.”

“Oh,” she said simply. “I couldn’t remember, but I hoped it was something good.” Creighton chuckled softly as he slipped his fingers into the water, playing with the warmth.

“So, are you going to tell me what you’re hiding or am I going to have to guess it?” she asked a few minutes later as his large hand began caressing her inner thigh.

“What makes you think I’m hiding anything?”

“Because I know you very well, my husband. I know when you have a secret and I don’t think this is a very good one.” Creighton drew a deep breath and sighed, standing up to look at her.

“Can I take a bath with you?” he asked and she smiled, nodding softly. She watched as he pulled his clothes off
before stepping into the tub behind her, wrapping her in his strong embrace. They sat there for several long moments before the silence got the better of her and she sighed.

“Well?” she asked again. Creighton kissed the
top of her head, his arms circling her a bit tighter.

“Andrew found Stone, or Darby, hiding out in a small shack near Bristol. He’s in custody now and with what Bachmeier said last night, he’s aware of how much trouble he’s in. Andrew said they are pressing a number of charges against him, even though he’s claiming
to be innocent.”

“Do you think he’ll go to jail?”

“Most likely; he has a few additional charges from his past to answer to as well as those from the present.”

“There’s something else
though, isn’t there?” she asked him, turning her head slightly so she could look into his face with her good eye.

“It’s Silvano,” he said quietly.

“I was afraid it might be,” she said softly. “What kind of problems is this going to cause with Donato?” she asked.

“I don’t give a damn
how many problems it causes,” he snapped, causing her to frown. “I’ve got my solicitor preparing the documents to buy him out. I’m liquidating our partnership.”

“Why would you do that?” she frowned. “
Donato didn’t have anything to do with his son’s actions…did he?”

“Not that
we know of, but that’s beside the point. I am done with that family; first Aryana and now this. I won’t stand around and wait for a third problem to arise.”

You’ve known him a long time; you’re friends as well as business partners. That sort of thing doesn’t just end overnight.”

“No, it ended over a period of two nights. I will never go through anything like that again
, nor will I allow you to be jeopardized by my association with him. I’m tired of cleaning up after his children and being their scapegoat.”

“Creighton, please think about this…”

“I have,” he said sternly but in a quiet tone. “And my mind is made up.” Sandra closed her mouth and turned back to look at the faucet. She hadn’t seen him this angry in a long time and knew it was best to let him cool off before trying to make him see reason.

Several minutes ticked by before he sighed again, his hands caressing her arms.

“Silvano is dead,” he said in a quiet tone. Sandra turned in his arms again, frowning. “Bachmeier shot him after you tied him up and ran. Andrew’s men found the disc in the machine; it showed everything from Silvano setting up the room to his being shot.”

“I don’t know what to say,” she whispered,
making him pull her back against his chest, kissing her face and neck.

“There’s nothing you could have done. Bachmeier wanted the money for himself. I’m sure they both considered taking the other one out when they got
it.”

“But I put him in a defenseless state; he
had no way of escaping.”

“Stop thinking like that,” he scolded her. “You did what you had to do to protect yourself and our child. I would have done the same thing if I were in that situation.”

“No, I’m sure you would have had much for finesse; you probably would have just shot him and had it over with.”

“I would have, though I’m not nearly as confident with a gun as you are. Knowing me, I would have shot myself in the
bloody foot.” Sandra smiled, though it wasn’t intentional. She felt sick and wanted to cry, but she wasn’t sure why. She didn’t like Silvano and would never mourn his loss, but she was feeling less than enthusiastic about her husband’s decision to terminate his partnership with his old friend over this.

“Why don’t you
get out and go lay down for a while?” Creighton suggested. “We need to meet with the police around two; that will leave you enough time to rest. I sent the plane to pick up our families and bring them here. It’s going to be a very busy day and I am hoping to have a quiet supper before deciding what to do next.”

“What do you mean, what to do next?” she frowned, turning back around to stare at him.

“After all that’s happened, I wouldn’t blame you if you chose to return to Kansas and raise our child there. Europe hasn’t exactly been very hospitable toward you.”

“My home is in Yorkshire with you and Max. I’m not going anywhere and no matter
how much you scream and shout, you’re stuck with me for the rest of your life, so learn to adjust to that fact.” Creighton smiled, slightly less worried than he had been a moment ago.

“Are you sure?”

“Ask me again and I swear I’ll make mincemeat out of you.” The stubborn look on her face and the narrowing of her eyes made him laugh full and hard as he pulled her to sit across his lap.

“I love
you; I just want you to be certain this is what you want.”

“I have never wanted anything more.” Sandra leaned into him and kissed his lips gently, smiling as his hands began to caress her
wet bottom. Their tongues managed to find each other, caressing and teasing in a reunion she had been anxiously awaiting. She leaned closer and slid her hand between them as she rose slightly above him, feeling the hard evidence of his arousal as she began stroking him.

“I don’t know if this is such a good idea,” he said, though his words were weaker than he intended.

“I have been away from you far too long and I want you to make me come,” she whispered against his neck as she began kissing and nipping at the firm skin.

“Who am I to disagree?” he asked and lifted her hips a little higher then slowly settled her down across him. Sandra felt her body relax around him
and braced her hands on his shoulders as he began to move her over his hard shaft.

“I feel like it’s been a lifetime since we were together,” she moaned, feeling her body tighten around him.

“You’ll never be that far from me again, I promise,” he whispered. His desire and passion was beginning to overtake him and he gripped her butt cheeks hard, moving in and out of her at a steady rhythm. He knew it wouldn’t take much to fill her with the heat of his desire, but she needed to experience the release of her pent up frustrations from the past two days, more than he did.

With a wicked
grin he laid back slightly in the tub, allowing her to feel the full length of him as her body took him in deeper. He slapped her behind with one hand as his other slipped between their joined bodies and began to massage the swollen bud of her clitoris.

Sandra moaned
, closing her eyes and leaning back against his legs, bracing her hands on his calves. Seconds ticked by as she relished the feel of him inside her, taking away her fear and the memories of the past days. Quickly the warm dizzy sensation began to overcome her and she knew she would find her release sooner than she had wanted, but more than her own climax, she wanted to feel him join with her.

She tightened the muscles of her vagina and heard him
growl softly, his speed becoming more urgent. She released her grip on him only to tighten again, this time tipping the scales in her favor as she fell into the pit of writhing need; her head fell backwards as she cried out, grinding her hips against him as she took him in deeper.

The heat of him filled her and she smiled, the savage growl that she
yearned to hear for so many long, lonely hours apart, echoed about the confines of the bathroom. They rode the trail of satisfaction together for several frantic heartbeats until she at last collapsed against his shoulder, panting for air. His arms circled her waist, holding her against him in a warm embrace. The act had been brief but well deserved and greatly needed for both their salvations.

Sandra
could feel his heartbeat beneath her breast as she pressed into him tighter, his warm breath against her neck. She smiled again as she felt his quick renewal, his penis thickening inside her as she began to stroke him with her body. This was where she belonged; in her husband’s arms and in his life until the end of eternity.

The sounds of phones ringing echoed down the narrow corridor filled with open office doors. Voices carried on in a variety of tones; some angry, others laughing as the building’s occupants went about their daily activities. Sandra sat beside Creighton in a small office with two worn leather chairs, an older wooden desk and a window that looked out onto a brick building next door.

She had given her statement to
Andrew and was moved in here for them to wait his return. That was over thirty minutes ago and she could feel her husband becoming aggravated with each tick of the clock.

“I have to thank you,” she told him softly so nobody passing by could hear them. Creighton turned and frowned, watching the light sparkle in her eyes.

“For what?” he asked in a hushed tone. Sandra glanced around to the open door and smiled, turning back to face him.

“For teaching me how to use your toys,” she whispered. “It’s the only way I was able to get loose from those handcuffs, but unfortunately when Sabrina
learned how I knew what to do with them, she was a little…disturbed that you taught me. Don’t be surprised if she blushes around you, for a while.” Creighton smiled, shaking his head and looking up to the door as a man passed by.

“That’s just great,” he whispered. “Now I’ll have to explain to her that mum and dad were the first to bring them into the house.”

“Ewww,” she said, smiling as he laughed.

“Like I’ve said; couples who play together, stay together.”

“So I suppose that means you’re stuck with me?”

“Damned right.” His smile was short lived as an angry Italian voice echoed up the hallway toward them.

Creighton’s frown was back, but not out of frustration for waiting. He rose from his seat and started to the door, then turned when he felt Sandra’s hand in his.

“Stay here, I’ll take care of this,” he insisted, but she tightened her grip and looked at him sternly.

“We’re in this together, remember? I’m not backing away from a grieving father who wants revenge. I will not have another Vigano lurking in the shadows waiting to strike.”

Creighton drew a deep breath, but
nodded, holding her hand in his as they walked out the door and down to the interrogation room where the voices were filtering into the hall. They turned and walked across the threshold of the beige room, glancing briefly at the long table sitting in the center beneath two low hanging lights and television screen on the wall at the end of the room.

Donato Vigano stood like a menacing mountain, looming over the smaller frame of Morris as she tried to calm him down.
His dark suit and tie showed his state of mourning as his sons, Giovanni, Demetrio and Demarco stood behind him; all dressed as their father. He turned when Sandra and Creighton walked through the door and physically grimaced at the bruising on Sandra’s face and the black eye that stared at him.

“Do you have something to say to me?” Creighton asked, his tone filled with anger as he confronted his partner.
