“How’s it feel to be on the dark side?” he asked against her when he took the toy and flipped it off. Sandra couldn’t speak; her breath was ragged pants, her body slick with a mixture of oil and sweat. He laughed softly, kissing her cheek and neck.

“Derek told me the definition of a successful honeymoon is one that was filled with passion and heat,” he whispered. “I think we’ve succeeded in making ours memorable.” Sandra smiled; she could feel the heat rising up her neck, tinting her cheeks.

“Another,” he told her, lifting the wand from under the pillow next to her and placing it in her hand. “I’m watching you this time,” he assured her, turning it on and moving her hand toward her body. “I want you to make me jealous. Show me where you like it. Find the spots that feel the best and tease me until I beg you to let me join you.”

Sandra could feel the heat burning her face and chest as she closed her eyes. She had never felt such conflict; on one hand she was embarrassed and ashamed, on the other aroused and eager to explore this new side of sex with her husband. Knowing he was watching her was somehow very erotic and wickedly delicious and she quickly adjusted to the sensations burning inside her. She began to caress her body as he had instructed, his warm hands pressing her knees apart gently so she was spread wide enough that the wand found her clitoris.

Within moments she relaxed and began to explore her own body, the vibrating ball caressed her delicate skin and she found several areas of interest she didn’t know were there. She smiled when she heard him gasp, his long fingers spreading her labia apart for her as he watched her torment him.

Creighton’s breath caught in his throat as he watched her; she was driving him crazy and he could feel the need for his own release throbbing between his legs. He wrapped one hand over his firm shaft as his free hand caressed her wet body around the wand. He couldn’t resist any longer, the vision of what she was doing made him feel insane with need and he had no other option but to move between her legs; the tip of his quivering penis pressed against the wet opening of her vagina.

“Please Sandra, I need you,” he begged her and she nodded, wordlessly.

He pushed into her slowly as she continued to run the buzzing ball over her labia and clitoris. It took barely three thrusts before he felt the walls of her vagina tighten around him. She lifted her legs to a bent position, her hips rising off the bed toward him as she cried out. Her passion and orgasm spurred him on until he relented and joined her, holding her hips to him as he spilled his hot seed inside her.

“I need a break,” she gasped as he lay beside her taking the wand from her hand and shutting it off.

“Do you want a drink?” he asked. Sandra nodded as she moved off the bed as she padded her way back into the bathroom. The need to use the bathroom again filled her with an urgency that took her out of the room, closing the door behind her.

Creighton watched her walk away, a smile caressing his handsome lips. She was absolutely beautiful; his wife, his lover, his personal savior. If it weren’t for her, he would still be locked away in his flat in Chelsea; fear and remorse would be his only allies.

He stood up off the bed and took the wipes he used for the toys from the pack and cleaned her vibrators, frowning at the long blue tube. If she were on her period, then where was the blood? He glanced to the bathroom door as the sound of the toilet flushing echoed through the stillness. The door opened a moment later and she walked out, a frown pulling her brows together. He sat on the bed and waited as she walked naked back to him then pulled her down to his lap and kissed her cheek.

“Are you alright?” His tone was soft, barely above a whisper as he held her in his arms.

“I think my body is going crazy,” she said in a shaky voice.

“You’re not bleeding anymore?” She shook her head. “Maybe it’s just the activity or all the excitement.”

“What if I am pregnant?” she whispered. “Would the blood mean there was something wrong?” Creighton drew a deep breath and slowly eased her out of his embrace, looking at the fear shining in her eyes.

“I think it’s time we saw a doctor.”

CHAPTER NINE

Creighton paced the floor as Sandra sat on the table, silently waiting. They had made an appointment with a physician for the next morning and after checking in, were ushered into a room with baby pink walls and blue furniture. A variety of cartoon characters decorated the room and in the corner hung a large flat screen television. There was a strange machine sitting next to the exam table with a metal tray near the side wall with jars and tubes she had never seen before. A single chair was positioned next to a white desk which sat beside a small sink.

Several magazines were placed in a wooden rack on the back of the door, all with babies or pregnant women on the covers, though Sandra couldn’t understand them; they were all in French. The nurse had spoken with Creighton in her native tongue as he relayed their concerns of what was happening. Sandra had her blood drawn before she was shown a bathroom where she left a urine sample and was now sitting naked beneath a yellow duck decorated cloth gown.

Their nerves and anxiety grew with each passing second and his continued pacing was making her feel more frustrated than the waiting. Sandra drew a deep breath; this was it, she was either pregnant or not and if she wasn’t than maybe there was something wrong. Why else would she start bleeding one minute and stop the next?

The white wooden door opened a few minutes later and a young man in his mid-thirties stepped in, carrying a small iPad type device. He greeted them in French and smiled; he was very handsome and much younger than Sandra would have preferred. She was sitting on the exam table in only a cloth gown, feeling very vulnerable and embarrassed. If she was to be examined by a male, she would have preferred he were older and less attractive and by the expression on her husband’s face, he was thinking the same thing.

“I understand you only speak English,” the doctor said in a very thick accent. Sandra nodded. “Then I will make it easier for you.”

“What did the tests say?” Creighton asked, stepping to her side, his hand around her waist as if claiming his territory.

“First let me ask a few questions,” the doctor continued as he sat down at the small desk. “You have been sick, no?” Sandra shook her head.

“Maybe a little, but nothing out of the ordinary; some foods have never really agreed with me and I’ve been eating a lot lately.”

“Have you been unusually tired?”

“Yes,” she nodded. “But we’ve had a lot going on the past few weeks.”

“And now you bleed?” She again nodded. “You are late for your cycle by how much?” Sandra thought for a moment counting how long it had been since she left Kansas. Two weeks for her vacation and another two on her honeymoon; that would make it…

“Sixteen days,” she said at last.

“What did the tests show?” Creighton asked again, his tone filled with irritation.

“Well, it appears you are pregnant,” the doctor said with a small smile. “Have you been trying to conceive?” Sandra’s eyes widened and Creighton’s breath caught in his throat.

They knew there was a strong possibility that she would get pregnant and they had talked about what they would do; they both wanted it to happen but when she started bleeding it seemed that they would have to try again. Now the confirmation of having a child began to filter through their brains like a slow leak in a hose. The doctor cleared his throat and brought them back to reality.

“We were hoping,” she heard herself saying. “But we thought…I mean…when I started bleeding…”

“Is there anything wrong with the baby or my wife?” Creighton’s voice was full with authority as he interrupted her rambling, but there was an underlying excitement that Sandra recognized, making her feel more anxious than she already did.

“The blood tests show you are barely three weeks,” the doctor explained. “There is a point in early pregnancy where the mother may bleed. It is called implantation bleeding. I do not believe anything is wrong, but I will need to do a pelvic exam. How long will you be in France?” Creighton fought the urge to growl at the thought of this man doing any kind of an examination on his wife, especially a pelvic one.

“We’re here on our honeymoon,” Sandra said. “Perhaps another week, maybe more.”

“Then I would like for you to see a doctor once you are back…where do you live?”

“Kansas…” Sandra stopped suddenly, remembering where and who she now was. “I mean Yorkshire.” The doctor glanced up from his device and frowned, looking from one to the other of couple in front of him.

“We were just married,” Creighton explained. “Sandra is American; she’s not used to the idea of being English yet.” The doctor smiled and nodded.

“If you will lie down,” he told Sandra as he walked to the door and pressed a button. “I will check your abdomen first.”

The next fifteen minutes were possibly the most embarrassing of her life, even more than masturbating for her husband’s pleasure. Sandra had never had a pelvic exam before; her doctor back home said she didn’t need one unless she was sexually active so she never bothered before now. Creighton stood by her head and held her hand as the nurse stood beside her employer with a small vial of clear fluid. Sandra was subjected to her first ever pap smear and knew she was blushing scarlet the entire time.

Creighton’s hand tightened around hers as the doctor stood and inserted his fingers into her body, pressing on her stomach and asking her questions about pain, discomfort or soreness. Sandra shook her head and mumbled softly, her hand sweating beneath her husband’s firm grip.

“We should do another blood test in a couple of days and I want you to have a sonogram when you return to England. You should schedule to see your doctor in about a month.” The man took his gloves off as the nurse took the small vial and left the room. Creighton helped Sandra sit back up on the end of the table, his hand moving to her waist again.

“What will that test you just did show?” Creighton asked, his tone slightly more relieved now that the man was back on his stool across the room.

“We check for cervical cancer and diseases. It will take a few days; you may call for the results if we do not call you in a week.”

“What about the bleeding?” Sandra asked softly. She didn’t feel as hot as she had a moment ago, but she knew she was still blushing from the expression in the doctor’s eyes.

“That will subside soon. It only lasts for a day or two. If you start bleeding heavier I want to see you right away.”

“What about sex,” Creighton asked with a slight frown. “Is it safe?”

“Of course, but use your best judgment. If the bleeding continues than stop and come in and never push past the point of discomfort.” Sandra drew a deep breath. She was now beginning to feel nauseated and was certain it had nothing to do with the bagel she had for breakfast.

“I will give you some prescriptions,” the doctor continued, tapping on the device in his hands. “I want you to start on some vitamins and I will give you something for morning sickness, just in case you should need it. Some women have it, some do not.” He stood up from his stool and walked to the door, glancing across his shoulder.

“You may get dressed. Come out when you are done and I’ll have some information for you.” He stepped out and closed the door behind him, leaving the couple alone.

“That was the most embarrassing thing I could ever have experienced,” Sandra said under breath when she climbed off the table, still holding onto Creighton’s hand. He stopped her from reaching for her clothes and pulled her gently into his embrace, hugging her close and kissing her forehead.

“Are you upset?” he asked with a concerned echo.

“No, I’m scared,” she answered weakly. “I have never been pregnant before and I’m not sure what to do. Creighton, what if I do something wrong?” He smiled as he hugged her tighter, his lips moving to her cheek.

“I can’t imagine you doing anything wrong.” He kissed her forehead again before lifting her chin with his forefinger and thumb. “We’re in this together. I’ll be right there making the same mistakes as you are.”

“Somehow that makes me feel much better. Why don’t you do this and I’ll just watch?” Creighton laughed, kissing her lips tenderly.

“The reason men don’t have babies is because we’re all cowards at heart,” he said with a wide smile, the excitement beginning to shine in his sapphire blue eyes.

“Let’s not tell anyone, not just yet,” she said with a shy smile. “I want this to be our secret until we’re sure everything is okay. Once we get home and things settle down, we’ll tell our families.” Creighton frowned for a brief moment then smiled and nodded his head.

“I like the idea of sharing a secret with you.”

“You have more than one,” she teased, pushing out of his grip and reaching for her clothes. “I don’t think your parents
would be too excited to learn their baby boy has a dark side.” Creighton frowned, watching her dress; a thought entered his mind that seemed to consume him attention. Sandra pulled her favorite black pants with the silver stitching back on, followed by her bra and yellow tee-shirt; once again she had gone with panties. She sat in the chair and slipped her feet into a pair of black pumps before glancing up the man still standing beside the exam table.
