“In a way, yes,” he said with some sadness. Hunter had always thought she was the most beautiful woman he’d ever seen, but now she was ethereal, a bright being from the stars. Yet he missed the human Malia.

He held his hand out to her as the allure of touching her flawless faery skin called to him. Malia glided across the room and put her hand in his, and then a radiant smile filled her luscious mouth. He looked deep into her luminous green eyes, thinking it was impossible that anyone had eyes that color. It was at that moment he finally let himself go. He was no longer the master of his own destiny. Although he held possession of her soul, she owned his heart, and he could not be complete without her.

“You give me strength, my love. In ways you can’t imagine,” Hunter said with a smile. “And I’ll need that strength if we are to defeat my father, and avenge your mother’s death.”
