“We’re going to our place. It’s closer and the weather is getting bad quickly.” Michael continued to drive toward their home. He was a great driver. She knew immediately as he avoided further debris that got in their way. It seemed like it took extra long to get to their place, but they finally arrived and Michael parked the truck right outside the porch steps. Their home was a very large log home with the thickest logs she had ever seen on a place. They must have custom built it. It seemed odd for two brothers who lived alone to have such a large place of their own. There was even a five-car garage separate from the house and done up like the log home they were about to enter.

“Okay, are you ready to run?” Chad asked as he took her hand. She heard the rain as it pelted the truck making a lot of noise.

She nodded her head and they exited the truck and ran for the house. The rain was coming down hard and fast. They were soaked as they reached the front door. As they entered, she stopped short, immediately taken aback by the gorgeous, upscale log home. The ceilings were cathedral with custom log beams and cedar wood covered the walls. There was a gigantic fireplace at the center wall with large, high windows surrounding it. A bolt of lightning struck and then thunder blasted around them. She let out a scream and covered her head with her soaking wet sleeves. She was dripping.

“You really are scared of thunder.” Chad pulled her into his arms and hugged her to him.

She pulled away.

“I’ll get you wet.”

He gave her an odd expression. “I’m already wet, baby. Look at me.” She took in the sight of him. He was drenched, too. She felt the hands on her shoulders and then Michael pulled her back against him.

“I’ll get you some dry clothes to put on,” Michael whispered as Chad began to walk away pulling his shirt up over his head. She nearly fainted from the sight of his gorgeous body. Muscles were everywhere as well as some intricate design on his shoulder. She shivered. He certainly wasn’t shy. She felt her belly tighten. She was alone in their home during a possible tornado.

“Let’s get these wet things off of you.” Michael took her hand and led her through the living room and toward the kitchen. They passed it and continued down the hallway to the laundry room. As she stood there watching, Chad rummaged through the basket for a dry shirt. He pulled it on then searched through the other things. Michael lifted his shirt up over his head and she nearly moaned. He was just as built as his brother and he had a tattoo of a large gun and American flag on his left shoulder. She swallowed hard and lowered her eyes as Chad looked up toward her.

He chuckled as he approached.

“Let’s take off that wet shirt and you can wear this one.” He held an olive green shirt in his one hand while he reached to help her remove her wet shirt with the other. She stopped him. “Is there somewhere I can change?” Her question seemed to shock him and his cheeks turned red.

“Sure. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to…here, I’ll show you.” He stopped what he was about to say and led her to the guest bedroom.

“You can change in here and then we’ll throw on the dryer so you can wear your shirt home.”

“Thank you,” she whispered as another bolt of lightning illuminated the house. Thunder soon followed it, and she quickly removed her shirt. Just as she was about to pull the dry shirt on, an alarm started to wail and the door burst open. Michael and Chad were there.

She covered her ears as the thunder rumbled like nothing she ever heard before, and instantly she knew that the tornado warning was for Delite. She clutched the shirt to her chest.

“Let’s go, baby. We have a shelter downstairs.”

She pulled the shirt on as they hurried down the stairs to the basement.

Michael lit some lanterns they had set up. The room was made for emergencies just like this one.

He glanced at his cell phone.

“Radar says it’s moving in. Looks to be a good one.”

“Oh God.” She sat down on the edge of one of the two beds and hugged herself. She closed her eyes and tried not to panic. Visions of her uncles’ men hitting her, chasing her through the woods in a sick game they enjoyed playing. They shot their guns at her, missing her body by mere inches. She had been soaking wet, covered in mud from running through he woods during the massive storm. They laughed, but she had cried and by the time they decided they had gotten bored with the game, she had cuts and bruises covering her skin. Susanna had come to her rescue and it had cost her. Titus, one of the meanest sons of bitches in the group, worked Susanna over. She shivered at the memory.

Alexa felt the hand on her shoulder and she jumped back.

“Whoa, baby doll, it’s all right. God, you’re shaking like a leaf.” Chad caressed her thigh and sat down next to her on the bed.

“Why are you so scared of thunderstorms?” Michael asked.

“I just don’t like them,” she stated as she shivered.

Chad wrapped his arm around her shoulder and pulled her against him.

“Are you cold?”

“I just don’t like storms. That’s all.”

“There’s more to it than that. Did you have a bad experience or something?” Michael asked and she looked up into his dark blue eyes. The man was an interrogation master. She found herself nodding her head.

Chad pulled her back with him onto the bed. He lay down, dragging her along his side then pulling her against him. He pressed her face against his chest as Michael joined them on the bed.

“We’ll hold you and it will be okay,” Chad whispered and then she felt Michael’s body against her back.

Michael could still hear the sounds of the tornado warning in the distance, but his focus was solely on the petite, sexy woman in his arms. He hesitated to touch her. It was as if some inner sense knew that once he did, he would never get enough of touching her, being next to her and wanting her. He took a deep breath. The T-shirt that Chad had given Alexa was way too big. She was so frightened by the storm and perhaps being in this intimate position with them, that she hadn’t noticed the fabric hanging off her shoulder. From behind her, Michael could see her white lace bra as well as the deep valley between large, creamy breasts. He couldn’t resist cuddling closer to her. The scent of her hair and the sight of her bare shoulder were too much to resist.

He placed his lips against her skin and she shuddered. Chad reached under her chin and stared into her eyes. Michael watched as he continued to kiss her exposed shoulder while he gently rubbed her thigh.

“Are you warm enough now?” Chad asked her, and she nodded her head even though she shivered.

“You’re not lying to me are you, doll? I only want to keep you safe and warm.”

Michael adjusted his body closer and so did Chad. Chad pressed his thigh between Alexa’s legs with Michael’s assistance.

They were squeezed together tight now.

The sound of a continuous roll of thunder rumbled around them. She panicked for only a moment until Chad leaned forward and kissed her.

Michael caressed the palm of his hand under the extra large T-shirt while his brother made love to her mouth.

Her belly felt tight and her skin was soft to the touch. He knew her breasts were abundant, and he hesitated to touch them only a moment until he heard her moan.

He moved his hand higher. She sucked her belly in and pulled her lips from Chad’s.

“We need to slow down.” She panted with her lips plump and wet from Chad’s kisses and her eyes wild with desire.

Alexa stared at the two men looking down at her. Tears stung her eyes at the thought of how amazing they were. Chad and Michael were gorgeous, sexy, and so in control, it made her have feelings she never thought she would feel. They protected her from the storm. They knew she was scared and they comforted her. All afternoon they catered to her and acted like they felt the same attraction that she felt. But now that things were getting intimate, she was fearful once again.

Michael had his hand under her shirt, his large, warm palm against her belly. His fingers caressed the underwire of her bra, and she so badly wanted him to touch her breast. His hands were big and thick. Chad caressed her outer thigh and she wanted to feel his large hands against her ass. It was overwhelming but she had to stop this. It was moving too fast. This was only their first date. She had many reservations.

“We’ll take it slow, honey. This is nice isn’t it?” Michael asked her then leaned down and gently brushed his lips across hers. She instantly closed her eyes until she felt his fingers move over her breast as Chad gripped her ass and hip pulling her against him.

“Michael?” she whispered, and his hand paused over her breast. Then he slowly ran one finger down her cleavage.

“You’ve been hiding this body well, sugar. My brother and I can’t wait to explore it together.”

He leaned down and kissed her belly.

“You make me want things I’ve never wanted before. It’s too much,” she confessed.

Michael and Chad lifted up so that they lay on their sides facing her. They both leaned on an elbow and placed their hands on her belly. She was flat on her back as she crossed her ankles and hoped that they were ready to talk some more.

She realized that the alarm sirens had stopped and the sound of thunder continued to hum in the far distance.

“I think the storm is through,” she told them.

The sound of two cell phones going off at once interrupted the moment. Michael and Chad jumped up and reached for their phones. One look at one another and that was it. The entire mood changed.

“Come on, baby, we need to take you home.” Chad reached for her hand and pulled her against him. He hugged her tight as she wondered what went wrong. Who was on the phone? Was it another woman or perhaps women? A jealous feeling consumed her as she grabbed her bag and followed Michael. His abrupt behavior and complete coldness toward her set her back straight.

“Chad will drive you home. Something with work came up.”

Michael kissed her on the cheek then headed in a different direction looking very serious. Chad pulled her swiftly to Michael’s truck. The rain was light and the sky pleasant looking. The storm had passed, and the area showed few battle wounds from the tornado. She, however, was a completely different story.

Chapter 7

“I don’t know why you insisted that we come here,” Michael stated as he stood by the bar along with Chad, Mason, and his brother, Steven.

“Because you want to see Alexa as much as I do. It’s been three days since our date. We’ll be lucky if she even acknowledges us,” Chad replied.

“You didn’t tell her that business came up?” Mason asked.

“No, we didn’t explain anything and we shouldn’t have to. This is why we can’t pursue a relationship with her right now. There’s too much going on and any day we could have to leave,” Michael stated with a scowl on his face.

“You don’t have to go. The two of you could call it quits. I’m definitely thinking about it,” Mason stated.

“You need to talk with Monte first and get some leads on other work,” Steven stated.

“I could always live off your paycheck, Dr. Aldean. Not! I’ve got enough money saved to retire and live the good life. I really don’t need a job,” Mason stated, teasing his brother.

“Then just do it,” Steven replied then took a sip from his beer.

“Hey, jerk offs! I’ve got a bone to pick with you,” Sally interrupted the four men. Michael and Chad were both surprised by the sudden outburst from Alexa’s sister.

“I should throw the two of you outta here for what you did to my sister.”

“Oh crap. The little lady is pissed,” Mason stated, and Sally flipped him the bird. Steven laughed.

“Slow down, honey, we didn’t do anything to your sister,” Chad interrupted.

“Oh no? That’s funny because she’s acting like you did. Dropping her off with no explanation as to why you ended your date so abruptly. I bet you got some booty call, didn’t ya. You knew she wouldn’t put out because she’s got class and you two think you’re something special.” Sally stuck her finger into Michael’s chest and gave a little shove.

“Well, let me tell you something, Mr. Special. You and your brother don’t deserve her. She’s been through hell and back and had to deal with asshole men all her life, so I suggest you fuck off and never approach her again.”

“Sally! What are you doing?” Alexa asked as she pulled on her sister’s arm.

Michael was overwhelmed by the outrage and the information Sally stated. Alexa went through hell and back and dealt with asshole men? What the heck? Then his focus was immediately on Alexa. Damn, did the woman look fucking gorgeous. Her long blonde hair flowed over her shoulder in a side pony. She wore a shimmering emerald green blouse that was low cut and revealed the cleavage between her breasts. The short, tight black skirt accentuated her hips and thighs and the kicker were the heeled black knee-high leather boots. She was fucking hot.

“Sally, please stop this. You’re embarrassing me. Let’s go.” Alexa grabbed her sister’s arm to make her leave.

“Alexa, wait, we came here to see you. We wanted to talk about the other night.”
