Learning to Listen to Your Body
It is important to become friendly with your body and listen to it. Before you eat, ask
yourself: Am I hungry? Or do I want to put food into my mouth because I’m feeling an
emotion I’m not comfortable with? Am I eating out of habit, or am I listening to my
body? If you are hungry, take a few moments and check in with your body—what
would be the healthiest, most nourishing food that you could eat?
Eat slowly, chew, and taste every mouthful. Enjoy the experience. Stop when your
body has had enough, rather than stuffing it.
Many people think they are hungry when they are actually thirsty or dehy-
drated. Check in with yourself before you eat to see if is actually water that would
satisfy you.
The Minnesota Starvation Experiment was a clinical study carried out at University
of Minnesota to determine the physiological and psychological effects of strict and pro-
longed semi-starvation. Researchers discovered that prolonged dietary restriction
produced severe emotional distress and depression; social withdrawal and isolation;
decline in concentration, comprehension and decision making; self-mutilation; and
obsessive behavior around food.23
Even after the experiment had concluded and people could eat whatever they
desired, they were completely preoccupied with food. In fact, many ate up to eight
times as much food as they had before the experiment had commenced.
Stewart’s Story: Overcoming a Vicious Cycle
Stewart put on a lot of weight when he moved to a new country; he had to
learn English, find a job, and make new friends. As he did not speak English
well, the jobs that he was offered were menial. This made Stewart feel

depressed, as he had been quite well paid in his home country. He also had
difficulty making friends and integrating into a new culture.
Stewart felt angry, rejected, and hopeless. In his eyes, he was a failure, so
when he wanted to feel better he ate chocolate, sweets, and cake. When he was
trying to punish himself, he ate ice cream, chips, and cake. It was a vicious cycle.
He would gorge, become disgusted, and fast for weeks. After a certain period of
deprivation, he would binge for a week and put on more weight than he’d lost.
I encouraged Stewart to connect to his strongest emotion. He described
it as hopelessness and anger. I asked Stewart to visualize his anger and
hopelessness as if it were a person and to communicate with this part of
himself. Stewart saw this aspect as a huge bomb that was about to erupt. As
he talked to and listened to this part of himself, tears rolled down his face.
Stewart realized that he had to stop putting unrealistic expectations on
himself and become gentler.
I asked Stewart if he knew anyone who was health conscious and
enjoyed exercise. He told me that he had recently met a man who loved
bike riding and going to the gym. I encouraged Stewart to reach out to him
and suggested they exercise together.
I saw Stewart three months later and could hardly recognize him. He
had lost forty-five pounds, and looked healthy and muscular. He told me
that he was training at the gym with his new friend five to six times a week,
eating healthily, and feeling better than ever. His English had also improved
and he had been offered a new job that he liked.
Stewart had stopped channeling all his energy into being miserable and
started focusing on what he wanted to experience in his life and was taking
appropriate action toward it.
Developing a Life of Wellness
The idea is to not only lose weight but to also develop a healthy lifestyle. Below are
some tips to get you started.

Drink a glass of water with lemon juice when you wake up.
Eat organic food when possible.
Eat a meal within thirty minutes of waking up.
Drink a glass of water before a meal.
Smell can lessen hunger, so smell your favorite fragrance, some flowers, or essential
oils you like before you eat.
Listening to slow, restful music during a meal encourages you to eat slower, more
consciously, and to enjoy your food more. Thus, you may be satisfied with less.
Cut down on the amount of alcohol you drink.
When you feel like snacking, eat a handful of mixed, unsalted nuts or a piece of
fruit instead of sweets.
If you constantly crave snacks, acupressure can help to lower your appetite. Press a
“gum point” in the middle of your top lip. Hold it for about ninety seconds, then
drink some water.
Stop eating when you are no longer hungry, even if there is still food on your plate.
Eat meals that are colorful, as ingesting certain colors can help you heal.
Eat at regular times.
Cook at home as much as possible.
Use coconut and sesame oils to cook with, as when you introduce high heat, many other
oils become rancid and turn into a carcinogen, which can contribute to diseases.
Cut down on fried food.
Throw out all junk food from your cupboards and only buy healthy food. If it’s not
there, you can’t be tempted.

Exercise four to five times a week; make it fun and full of variety.
Work on your emotions daily—do the exercise from the section Process for Emo-
tional Release on page [XX].
Carry a bottle of water with you wherever you go and drink this rather than fizzy
drinks.
Reduce the amount of fat, sugar, and salt in your diet.
Add exercises, such as lunges, single-leg raises, and squats to the exercises you do.
Visualize yourself reaching your ideal weight.

Dianne’s Story: An Amazing Physical Transformation
Dianne lost weight and baffled many doctors in the medical community by
her physical transformation. The following is Dianne’s story in her own
words:
My journey with weight started many years ago. As a young woman,
my weight was considered average. During the developmental stages of my
body, I began attracting a lot of attention from older males within
my extended family, who began to make sexual advances toward me. I didn’t
realize the effect this unwanted attention would have on me in the future.
My parents put me down; no matter what I did or how hard I tried, I was
never good enough for them. My weight increased dramatically when my
mum pressured me into terminating a pregnancy because I was not
married. I felt like I was a huge disappointment to my parents.
After that, I had two children and was diagnosed as a Type 2 Diabetic.

Twelve months after the birth of my youngest daughter, I was given
Inna’s book
The Secret Language of Your Body
. I then attended her work-
shop. At this point, I was at my heaviest. On the second day of the
workshop, I started to feel different. I also noticed that l looked and felt
lighter. This was the beginning of my weight-loss journey. Since then, I have
attended several Visionary Intuitive Healing® workshops, have worked with
Inna’s audio programs, in particular
Lose Weight Fast
, and have lost more
than forty-five pounds.
In the last eighteen months, I have released a lot of emotional issues,
been taken off blood pressure and depression medication, and reduced my
diabetes medication. I have been told by doctors that this is unheard of
within the medical profession.
In the middle of last year, my doctor advised that I would have to go on
cholesterol medication. He agreed to give me six months to reduce my lev-
els without medication. With the help of Inna’s workshops, audio programs,
exercise, and further dietary changes, within three months, I no longer
required any medication.
I have also changed from working in the stressful job I had been in for
twenty-two years and have begun enjoying regular exercise. I am now
relaxed and much happier due to all that I have learned in Inna’s workshops.
Process for Losing Weight
Below is one of the processes that Dianne and many others have used to help with
weight loss. You need a red blanket and two cups, one red and one white. Fill both cups
with water to enhance the process.
Relax
Choose a quiet place where you can make yourself comfortable. Sit on a chair or lie
down in a relaxed position. If possible, cover yourself with a red blanket. Allow your eyes
to close naturally as you become aware of the inflow and the outflow of each breath.

Now that you are comfortable, take a deep breath through your nose and imagine
your breath is flowing through your entire body like a wave. As you exhale, bring your
attention back to your head. Feel yourself beginning to relax.
Release Negative Thoughts and Feelings
Become aware of your thoughts and feelings about yourself and your weight. Do you
feel guilt, anger, fear, or frustration? Do you feel insecure and doubtful about your
ability to lose weight quickly and easily?
If you have any of these feelings or others you would like to release, repeat: “I ask
the Divine Intelligence of my body to delete, delete, delete all doubts. Melt away all
anger, fear, guilt, insecurity, self-doubt, and negativity about my ability to lose weight
and to keep it off.”
Repeat the word “RELEASE” several times.
Visualize Dissolving Extra Weight
Sense or picture that you are holding a vacuum cleaner. Take this vacuum cleaner and
imagine sucking out all the heaviness and density you don’t need from your body. Espe-
cially focus on the areas of your body which carry extra weight. Imagine pouring bright
red energy through your body and allowing it to flow to the parts of your body that are
stuck and have been unable to let go of any unnecessary weight. Observe how the
weight dissolves. See and feel this taking place.
Repeat the phrase three times: “Divine Intelligence of my body, install, install,
install my body’s ability to burn fat quickly and easily.”
Allow the following statement to penetrate deeply into your subconscious mind:
“My body now knows how to burn fat quickly and easily.”
Drink Some Water
To make the process even more powerful, sit up and drink some water from the red cup
or glass. If you don’t have a red glass, imagine drinking red liquid.

Lie down, relax even further, and focus on how this liquid activates your
metabolism and the fat burning abilities of your body. Your metabolism will speed up to
the most appropriate level for you to maintain a healthy, strong, fit body.
Now sit up and drink some water from the white or clear glass, or imagine doing
so. Follow the clear white liquid as it moves through your body, cleansing, balancing,
and regenerating it.
Tap your Fingers
Using the fingers of both hands, gently tap your forehead while repeating four times:
“I now attain my perfect weight.” The tapping action will help your body to remember
the statement. Then tap your fingers under your eyes, repeating the above statement
four times. Finally, tap your fingers around your chest/heart area while taking deep,
slow breaths. Repeat the same statement four times.
Visualize Merging with Your Perfect Self
Imagine being your perfect weight. How do you look? How do you feel? What do
you do? What clothes do you wear? How do other people speak and react to you? In
what other specific ways does your life change? Picture yourself merging with the
perfect you. Know that you already have a gorgeous, slim part inside you who can
motivate you to eat healthily, lose weight, and exercise. Press the thumb and index
finger of each hand together for fifteen seconds. Take slow, deep breaths, imagining
eating healthy food and doing the kind of exercise you love. Picture yourself
exercising regularly for one month and enjoying yourself. Relax your fingers and take
a few deep breaths.
