Faith laughed. “Oh yeah. I forgot about that. Well, maybe I can crash with you?”
“I think I can find a place for you. Just as long as you behave yourself.”
“Counts me out then,” Faith joked. “Do you think Calvin will be waiting on us again this time?”
Gibson started giggling uncontrollably, thinking about how his nemesis had looked all covered in yellow. “Somehow, I don’t think so,” Gibson said. “He’s going to be a little bit preoccupied today.”
“Then let’s get going,” Faith said. “Maybe we can go to Marty’s again?”
“We can go to Marty’s everyday if you want.”
“I’ll weigh a thousand pounds and then you will dump me.”
“Never,” Gibson said. “Now let’s go. We’ve got a lot of lost time to make up for.”
“I’ve only been away from you for a few hours.”
“You’ve been away from me for a lifetime,” Gibson said. “We’ve missed out on a lot.”
“So let’s get started,” she said, pulling him along.
And with that the two of them left the train station hand in hand. The world at their back was filled with blacks, whites, and grays. The world before them was filled with colors. The future looked very bright indeed.
