“Ooooooh, yes, that’s it. Oh yes,” she

whispered, as he picked up speed and began

fluttering his tongue like a hummingbird’s wings lightly pattering her throbbing clit. As she got closer and closer to feeling the familiar heat and rush that would soon consume her completely, she tensed up her leg muscles, then released them, sighing with each tingling release. As she tensed and released, the pleasure began rocking her lightly, up and down on his mouth. Her breaths became ragged and uneven, as if she was

grunting. Her animal instincts seemed to be taking over completely, and she realized she was hungry, very hungry.

She gripped his wrists harder, pulling his

mouth into her. Raklo slowly spread his knees apart until she was lying out almost completely horizontal over the floor using just his strong arms and their passionate grip. She gasped loudly as the first tremors of fire ignited in her soul. Raklo waited for the first few waves of heat to pound into her, but kept a steady fluttering pace with his tongue until she tensed and clawed at his wrists like a tiger ripping flesh. He seemed to admire her power and, in more of a frenzy now, drove his face down on her nub with even more force.

Within seconds, she felt her body explode, quiver and shake.

As Veronique erupted into a fireball of orgasm, Raklo released his grip entirely and watched intently as her thick mane of hair swooshed upward toward the ceiling and her glistening upper body fell like a stone. As if she were dead, her head and shoulders disappeared in a death-drop towards the floor. He heard her scream his name until he felt her entire upper body come to a violent rest against his shins. Then she was still, her head resting inches above the floor,

unharmed. She was silent now. Unconscious.

Veronique opened her eyes and found herself standing at the edge of the Chamois looking out across the water and up at the footbridge. It was nighttime and a waxen moon hung over the water and sprinkled a dim, cloudy light through the black masses of trees. A grey carpet of mist swirled over the river and the land, and it sucked at her ankles, giving her little chills as it whispered harmlessly over her feet and toes.

Other than the cool mist licking at her feet, her body felt fantastic, warm and buttery. She looked at her hands, the water and the moon and over at the footbridge, then smiled blissfully. She kept her attention on the footbridge and focused on the silhouette of the ropes and wooden slats. Her gaze dropped from the footbridge down to the water and she let it wander back down to her feet, then stopped in shock and confusion. Her feet did not touch the cold earthen shore. Her body was

hovering, floating lightly, several inches above the sandy shoreline. As slow as syrup on a cold morning, she turned her gaze toward the wood line.

Two murky figures were grunting, wrestling

and clawing at each other while rolling around in a loosely wrapped blanket. She smiled as she realized she was watching herself and Ahndray make love on the riverbank beside a large cork oak tree.
Amazing
. She continued watching and was 236

stunned when, as he thrust up inside her and she screamed in pleasure, she felt her insides sizzle and twitch as if in her dream-state she felt every inch of him inside her, too! She smelled him on her skin, felt his hardness deep within her and felt her love for him flush throughout her heart and course to the very tips of her ethereal head and toes.

How can this be happening?
She wondered in amazement as she watched herself experience him for the first time. Tears rolled down her face and dripped into the mist at her feet causing small whirlpools of vapor. She caught herself and gulped a scream, barely able to stop from crying out to him, talking to him, holding him again. All she could do was watch as they explored each other, body and soul.

She felt a hand on her shoulder and her mind cracked like a thunderbolt. Her body remained calm however. She casually turned to see a man standing next to her. It was Raklo and he held his hand on her shoulder and smiled.

“This is what I have come to show you,

Veronique. Push forward and let’s explore

together. Do not be afraid, I am here beside you.”

She nodded. Veronique merely thought about

moving and she was soaring along the treetops of her beloved forest. It was suddenly daytime and she saw her sister, Emelie, walking down an alley, and she watched as Veronique and Ahndray

started running through the alley holding hands and laughing together. She looked beside her at Raklo who only smiled. She pushed forward

again, but her heart began pounding as she found herself watching Ahndray climb up the garden wall of her house. Fear spread into her soul and she knew in her heart what was coming next.

Raklo took her hand and squeezed it

reassuringly.

The next vision she saw upset her greatly, but watching it happen to her was not nearly as traumatic as having it happen the first time. She heard the words exchanged and she saw her door explode and Leone come into her room

discovering she and Ahndray in bed together. The anger and vitriolic hate from Leone was difficult to see and hear and he unsheathed his Eppe.

When he cut her face, she winced in agony, but felt no pain. She sobbed as Leone then shoved his blade into Ahndray’s chest and watched herself helplessly as she ran screaming out of her room and out the door into the night.

Instead of following her to the woods, however, she returned instead to her room and began

watching a past she realized she knew nothing about. Leone was sobbing over his brother when her father came into the room followed by another man carrying a black bag. It was Dr. Atherton! Her father pulled Leone to his chest as he continued screaming and they hoisted Ahndray up onto the 238

bed. Then more people arrived and she watched as the doctor worked on Ahndray for what must have been several hours. Mr. Rodell was in the room now, her sister, Emelie, and her mother along with other people. Some people she

recognized and there were now some uniformed policeman.

Suddenly, Dr. Atherton turned to Mr. Rodell and hugged him. He whispered in his ear and the room collapsed in exasperation and gratefulness as she saw Ahndray open his eyes!

Ahndray was alive? How could that be?
Her love was still alive! She watched the police escort Leone from the room, knowing instinctively he would be headed to a cell, possibly for the rest of his life. He was no longer a danger to her or to her gypsy family.

Her mind raced and the mist began to

evaporate until she could see her feet once more and feel the warm earth beneath her again. She turned to the Gypsy King and cupped his

beautiful face in both her hands, then kissed him with all the energy in her soul. Her mind went black again and she heard herself screaming his name. Suddenly her orgasm was fading away like warm honey and she was sucked through some

swooshing vortex back into his wagon.

She opened her eyes as he pulled her quickly back up to his chest and Veronique felt all of the blood leaving her head. She felt like she was going 239

to pass out again! She threw her exhausted body around him and was completely quiet, her tears running down his torso in steady streams.

“Do you understand your choice now,
mon
Veronique?” He asked her gently, stroking her hair as they began breathing together.

She couldn’t concentrate clearly, but managed to move her gaze back up to his eyes and studied him carefully. His face showed both

understanding and compassion and was creased and cracked from the earth, wind and traveling the world. His scar ran from almost his ear to the middle of his chin. It was a shade lighter than his natural tone due to the bleaching of the sun and it ran like a lightning bolt down his jaw line. She reached out and ran a fingernail along the smooth edge of his healed wound and she noticed the earrings in his ears.

They were almost as fascinating as his scar.

They were larger than any she had seen a man wear and, without flinching, she pushed his head sideways to study one closer. He did not resist and he saw her glance down to see him still rigid and ready for her whenever she wished.

The hoop was not perfectly round, but instead had obviously been pounded out and shaped by a steady and artistic hand. It was as thick as the lace in her shoe and so carefully molded and shaped that the light danced along what looked like a thousand edges. She gasped in admiration when 240

she realized it was a complete circle meaning it had somehow been welded together while still in his ear. He stared deeply into her eyes. Her world shifted again.

“I want to be with you tonight, Veronique.” He glanced down at his still swollen member and pushed himself gently against her resting arm.

She pushed back until they were close enough to hug each other, their bodies glistening in the dim moonlight and oil lamps.

“But you have to choose before we can go any further. I want nothing more than to have you, explore you both inside and out and show you how much you mean to our family, and to me.”

She listened intently to him explaining what Veronique’s heart already knew. Her heart was pounding. She was still wet and seeping from the incredible orgasms and visions she just

experienced with this man. Her imagination

flashed through a life of adventure, warmth and caring. It made her very happy as she saw them together. She could imagine perhaps some

children, growing old, seeing the world one town at a time. She could travel the world and live each day to its fullest, guide her new life by seasons and cycles of the moon. It was unbelievably romantic and she found herself whisked away with this strong, powerful leader toward a life of adventure and romance.

Suddenly he reached up to his ear and, without 241

a sound, snatched the earring through his tender flesh and held it in his fingers. He reached over with his other hand and pressed hard on the bottom lobe. Within seconds, his bleeding had slowed to a trickle. He held the ring out to her.

“I’m asking you to stay with us, Veronique. Stay tonight, every night, with me and my kumpania from here to eternity. I can show you visions you have never dreamed and you can spend the rest of your days in my arms as my wife and soul mate. I have loved you from the moment Nanosh rode in with you on his horse and I have been waiting for your heart to heal and your soul to sing again so I could come to you and invite you into my world forever.” He paused and stroked her hair. “But you can only come to me by your own free will.

Now you know all of your past and you can

choose.”

He reached for her hand, spread her fingers, slid the ring on her finger and wrapped both hands over hers. “Many men have tried to take these rings from my ears, and none have

succeeded. This scar is from one of those

nameless, faceless men who were so arrogant, so selfish that they believed they could take and control what is not theirs. You are also familiar with men like this, Veronique. Do not go back to their world, that world of uncaring and brazen hatred. I removed this willingly, as a symbol of my love for you and hope for a more beautiful life 242

for you, with me.”

Veronique’s heart pounded loudly in her ears.

She tried to catch her breath and listen to him at the same time. Raklo expressed himself so

honestly, so genuinely, that she felt tears welling up in her eyes. He was so sincere and unveiled that she found herself hearing Ahndray’s voice in the back of her mind. Raklo’s words sounded to her like Ahndray. A thrill of adrenaline flushed through her body as she realized that he was alive!

Her Ahndray was still alive! Her options, all the decisions she needed to make, were now very clear. For the first time in her life, she had all of the information she needed to find her heart’s voice.

She tried to calm herself, but she was

overwhelmed at having to make a decision so important with so little time to think. She sighed, sat down on the edge of the bed and held her head in her hands, but smiled through her tears.

The Gypsy King put his warm hand on the top of her head and brushed her hair with his hands in long, gentle strokes. “I have to check on the horses and ensure the camp is safe before the sunrise, Veronique. You need some time alone, to feel and understand what you need to do.” His tone was one of understanding and she reached out to him for another kiss. She wanted more of his incredible passion, the passion that changed her mind’s eye and yielded visions she had never imagined

possible.

“I will return in a little while and we can continue this magic together.” He dressed quickly and stood in front of her before leaving. He took her face into his hands and moved to kiss her deeply.

She did not know if it was a kiss goodbye or a kiss hello, but something made her stop. She lifted her hand to his mouth and looked into his eyes.

“I’ve seen enough for now, Raklo. I know what I need to do, what we need to do.”

As Raklo walked along the entire perimeter of his camp, he checked each fire and every door. He was thorough and patient and, once satisfied his
kumpania
was safe, he looked up to the fading moon and into the predawn light from the sunrise.

His eyes lit up as he watched a streak of bright light flash across the sky, then vanish almost instantly. He said a quick prayer to the heavens welcoming this new day with all the adventure it will bring and went back to his wagon hoping the yearning in his heart would soon be satiated. He entered his wagon, smelled her scent and smiled.

He looked immediately to his bed hoping to see her smile beckoning him. It was empty.
