She let her hand slip down, over his collarbone to his heart. Felt it race beneath her palm.
“I love you, too.” He bent his head to whisper in her ear, and pulled her even closer.
She lay quiet in his arms.
They had challenges ahead. So much was unresolved or still a mystery. And the stakes were higher than she ever could have imagined.
But lying under the trees of the forest, in the wild heart of Middleland, she knew whatever lay ahead, she and Rane would face it together.
And it would be all right.

ichelle Diener was born in London, grew up in South African and now lives in Australia with her family. She was bitten by the travel bug at a young age and has managed to feed her addiction with numerous trips to exciting places all over the world. She writes historical fiction and fantasy, and loves traveling to other times as well as places through the pages of a good book.
