Jenny
looked into his eyes with tears in hers.

You
sure about this?” she asked.

I've
never been this sure about anything in my life,” he said, as he
leaned forward.

She
put her hands on his cheeks and covered his lips with hers. He was
being careful not to hurt her, but she didn't want him to. She wanted
that kiss more than anything in that moment. Her hands moved to the
back of his head, and her fingers dove into his soft hair. She let
out a light moan. His tongue moved slowly along her bottom lip. Then
he took her lip between his teeth and tugged in downward. His tongue
dove into her mouth and curled into hers. They couldn't get enough of
each other. Her tongue danced with his. The kiss was filled with so
much emotion and passion. It was like the last three months all
rolled into on kiss. Jenny jumped back and gasped for air when she
heard a throat clear above them. She leaned her forehead against his
and winched when they made contact. He pulled back, and she knew she
had to have had the biggest smile on her face. The nurse that was
standing there began moving around to check on Jenny without a word.
Jenny couldn't take her eyes off of Kyle. He was perfect, and he was
hers.

Chapter
31

Kyle

Kyle
stayed with her the whole night. She tried to tell him that she'd be
okay and he should go home to get some sleep, but he refused to
leave. He sat in the chair next to the bed with his head down in his
arms. Jenny held his hand in hers the entire time. He heard her moan
in her sleep a few times as she tried to get comfortable.

The
doctors ended up releasing her the next day but wanted her around
someone for a few days. Kyle wanted her to go to his house, but she
insisted on going to Becky's. She argued that he would have to work
during the day and Becky would be home. He understood her reasoning
but wanted to be the one to take care of her. They wanted her to be
careful because most of her injuries were to her head.

Kyle
felt bad for her when he helped her to a sitting position on the bed.
She winced and cried out a bit here and there from the pain. Her
entire body was sore. She said she felt like she'd done the biggest
workout of her life and every muscle was hurting. A nurse came in to
take her off of the machines and help her get dressed. Kyle went to
get his car while they wheeled her down to the door. He helped her
into the car and drove her straight to Becky and Gavin's.

He
pulled up as close to the front door as he could and scooped her into
his arms to carry her to her room. Becky had extra pillows and
blankets waiting for her. He made sure she was comfortable before
going to get her prescriptions and some other stuff he thought she
would like. Kyle walked back into her room with five bags full of
stuff.

I'm
only going to be in bed for a few days,” she said. “What
did you buy?”

I
wasn't sure what you would want. I got some of your favorite candies
and snacks. I bought extra because I knew the kids would be in here
trying to get some too. I got a few books with games in them and a
couple of magazines. I know you have your tablet, but I thought it
would break up the day a bit. I got some stuff to rub on your neck
for the pain. Then I got a few things for headaches and stuff. I
don't want you to get bored when I'm at work.”

It's
only Saturday,” she said.

I'm
not leaving here until Monday morning,” he said.

Gavin's
not going to let you stay here with me,” she said.

Becky
will,” he said. “I can take you home with me if I have
to. I will be the one taking care of you, Jenny.”

You're
so sweet,” she said. “Come sit with me.”

Kyle
sat down on the bed against the headboard, and she snuggled into his
side. Becky brought dinner in for both of them. Jenny slept a lot the
first day, and a few hours on Sunday. Kyle stayed next to her the
entire time. He'd run home long enough to get some clothes and his
laptop. He worked while she slept.

Monday
morning came, and Kyle didn't want to leave. He had a huge meeting
and knew Ethan would kick his ass if he missed it. Gavin didn't say a
word when Kyle showered and got ready for work. They both walked out
the door together, but Gavin grabbed his arm before walking over to
his car.

You're
a good guy, Kyle,” he said. “I'm sorry.”

I
love her, Gavin. I will never let anyone hurt her again,” Kyle
said.

Thanks
for being there for her. She's family to me. We're all she's got. Her
mom doesn't give a shit about her. You're good for her.”

Kyle
nodded before walking to his car, getting in, and driving away.

He
went straight to Gavin and Becky's every day right after work to see
Jenny for a couple of hours. By Thursday, she was back at work. Gavin
didn't want her there, but she insisted. He was definitely struggling
without her. Kyle had heard him grumble several times about his
schedule. She said that her body felt much better. Her face was still
bruised, but she didn't want to stay home another day.

Friday
morning came, and Kyle was sitting at his desk looking out the
window. He grabbed his phone to send her a message between meetings.

Kyle:
How's your day going? Gavin better not have you getting his coffee
and running around.

Jenny:
It's going okay. I'm looking forward to the weekend. Maybe by Monday
my face won't look as bad. He won't let me get me out of my chair.
All he wants is for me to fix the mess he made in three days with his
schedule. How's your day? Do you have a lot of meetings today?

Kyle:
Your face looks beautiful. That guy would lose so much money without
you. I'm glad he doesn't have you running around. I'd have to kick
his ass. My day's okay. I miss you. I have meetings every hour until
five. I think I'm leaving an hour early. I'm exhausted. I haven't
slept much the last couple of nights.

Jenny:
I miss you too. Is everything okay? What's keeping you up at night?

Kyle:
The thought of my woman in bed, alone, without me taking care of her.
I need you with me, baby. I'll be over right after work to pick you
up.

Jenny:
Very funny.

Kyle:
That wasn't a joke. I can't go all weekend without you.

Jenny:
I can meet you at your house.

Kyle:
No. I'm picking you up. I'm spending the entire weekend with you. You
don't have to cook or lift one finger. I'll take care of everything.
We can watch movies and play games. We can get in the hot tub too. It
might help your body aches. I'll be the perfect gentleman.

Jenny:
What if I don't want you to be a perfect gentleman?

Kyle:
Don't be funny right before I'm about to walk into another meeting.

Jenny:
It's not going to be easy staying there the whole weekend one room
away from you.

Kyle:
Oh, I don't think so. Your ass will be right there in my arms. You
will never stay in that room again.

Jenny:
I thought you were being a perfect gentleman.

Kyle:
Why do I think you're not going to make that easy on me?

Jenny:
I'll see you after work. My boss just busted me on my phone. Have a
great afternoon. I can't wait to kiss those lips and snuggle in those
muscular arms all weekend.

Kyle:
These muscular arms can't wait to hold you, baby. Maybe you should
show your boss these messages. Then he'll know who the bad influence
is. I've got to go into my next meeting with a team of models that
want to be the lead woman for our next game. I'll see you later.

Jenny:
Very funny. Love you.

Kyle:
Love you too, baby.

Chapter
32

Jenny

He
had her wondering all day if that was really what his next meeting
was about. She almost messaged Ethan to ask him. Jenny watched the
clock until it was time to leave. She went straight home to pack a
bag for the weekend. There was no way she wanted to leave Kyle's
house, so she only packed night clothes, shorts, t-shirts, and a
bikini. She was shoving the last item into the bag when she heard the
doorbell ding. Becky laughed and shut the door just as she rounded
the bend from down the hallway.

It's
for you,” Becky said with a shake of her head.

Why
didn't you let him in?” Jenny asked.

I
said it's for you.”

Jenny
gave her a confused look, walked over, and opened the door to find
Kyle with a huge bouquet of flowers and a smile on his face. Jenny
knew her face turned at least four shades of pink and red. They were
the most beautiful flowers she'd ever seen in her life.

I'm
here to pick my woman up for our date,” Kyle said, as he handed
her the flowers.

He
leaned in and kissed her cheek.

You
look beautiful,” he said.

In
jeans and a t-shirt?” she asked.

Always,”
he said.

You
are such a kiss ass,” Becky said from the side.

You
just wish your man would do this for you,” Kyle said.

Oh,
her man does so much more than give her flowers,” Gavin said,
as he walked up behind Kyle and into the house. “I give her all
of this.”

Gavin
motioned down and back up his body. Then he grabbed Becky and pulled
her into his arms.

I'm
going to put these in my room,” Jenny said. “I'll be
right back.”

What
are you doing here?” Gavin said, as Jenny walked away.

I'm
picking my woman up for our date,” she hear Kyle answer.

Jenny
grabbed the bag she had packed and walked back to where the others
were still standing.

Is
that what you call it? Don't you bring someone home after a date?”
Gavin asked.

Of
course,” Kyle answered. “I'll have her home Sunday night,
sir. Does she have a curfew?”

Jenny
watched Gavin glare at Kyle. She couldn't help but burst into
laughter. Becky followed right along with her.

Come
on,” Jenny said, as she headed for the door. “We better
get out of here before his head blows. I think I can see the veins in
his neck already.”

You're
leaving me to deal with him?” Becky asked.

We
are,” Jenny said, as they walked out the door.

Kyle
opened her door and held her hand while she got in the car even
though she said she was fine. He stopped to pick up Chinese on the
way to his house. They sat in the living room to eat. He didn't want
her to have to sit in a hard chair. Jenny was still surprised at how
worried about her he was. Just a few months before, she thought he
couldn't stand being around her. She thought back to him snapping at
her on the beach and laughed.

What's
so funny over there?” he asked.

I
was thinking about Hawaii and the first time I saw you there. You
snapped at me,” she said.

If
you must know,” he said. “I couldn't believe you were
there. I thought I was getting away from thoughts of you, not walking
right into the real thing. Plus, you made it sound like I had
permission to be there. I know you didn't mean anything by it. I was
just adjusting to certain things with the company. I was actually
thinking about flying back home.”
