“And the cottage,” Aunt Meg said.

“And the end of that horrible mine,” Uncle Tony added.

“Let’s make all our favorites,” Claire said. “All the recipes that led to the deed.”

“Great idea,” Grandma said. “I remember there was
Pesto
 …”

“And
Painterman Eggs,”
Olivia said.

“And
Zucchini Pickles,”
Alex said.

“And
Osprey Cove Clam Pot –
for Grandpa,” Geneviève said, “and
Chocolate Cinnamon Sparkle Cookies
for me.”

“And
Muriel’s Berry Pandowdy,”
Sébastien added.

“And
Emergency Fudge!”
Claire shouted.

“As long as you don’t get sick this time,” Eve said, pulling one of Claire’s pigtails.

“You knew about that?” Claire said, turning pink.

Everyone laughed.

“I notice,” Aunt Meg said wryly, “that the menu is a bit heavy on the sweets.”

“Don’t blame us,” Claire said, eyes wide and innocent. “Grandpa’s the one who put the clues in those recipes.”

“Right, it’s all Sam’s fault,” Grandma said with a laugh. She opened her arms wide, and the cousins gathered in. “You children are great cooks –
and
great detectives. Say! We should call you the Teaspoon Detectives.”

The cousins looked at one another and grinned.

“Cool!” Alex said.

Grandma released them and rolled up her sleeves. “Come on then, you wonderful Teaspoon Detectives – let’s get cooking!”
